Surivors can't seem to figure out how tolive without dead hard and quit mid match annoying but they need to learn

It's just like I thought, the casual people who aren't very good at the game are gonna get frustrated and quit, I know a ton of survivors like myself who have done fine without dead hard for years but maybe that's because when it first came out there was very little distance and you were exhausted on the ground half the time because there was no hit validation so it wasn't worth it when you had better perks, but I have a feeling those blood point incentives are gonna be for survivors most of the time due to casuals refusing to play and improve

  • The twins weakness is when survivors stick together in pairs of two once you know someone is being chased, victors about to down your buddy? Have him hop into a locker and then stand in front of it and force victor to latch onto you , or when they go down kick victor and pick them up with something like WGLF, power struggle and flip flop is a weakness for them as well, or if a survivor has a syptic agent they can activate and eat a victor hit just to kick him while he's on cool down, my point being there are plenty of good strategies that can negate the twins completely and they're more of a noob or mediocre survivor stomper.

  • I'm not on switch but I can give advice, when you're close enough to get a hit try getting a hair closer and just tapping the swing button instead of holding it and you'll hit them most of the time, the issue is when you hold a lunge you're easier to 360 and it's easier for survivors to abuse the aim dressing and it's like you glide right around them

    This so much.

I guess people who complain about DH and think that it is the sole reason they lost the game never had a thought like "Hm... Maybe I did not play that well".

It aggravates me because they don't understand that it's calculated by most people when they use dead hard, it's not as simple as "press E to outplay" they looped them at whatever setup they had going on and then milked extra loops because they knew dead hard would come into use, the only difference now is those people won't milk the loop and they'll move to the next one meaning these people who have been having problems with dead hard for distance are still going to be crying about how hard it is for them to end a chase once they realize that it wasn't the dead hard, it was that alot of those survivors they had trouble with already knew how to correctly run tiles to begin with

  • I don't even use dead hard I prefer sprint burst but I'll tell you just like I told the other guy spouting this nonsense, if you think dead hard alone is beating you, you're just a ######### killer and there's no other way around it, at some point skill comes into play and either they use it right or they don't but don't pretend like it's " press E to escape the trial" at the end of the day if you spent half as much time trying to "git gud" as you did arguing with people on here you'd figure that out, man I swear some of these ######### robots in this community are cringe

I only play solo so I run kindred very often and people will let you reach struggle phase sometimes they just don't care, even when killer is not camping, next patch is super sad with all these nerfs kindred should be basekit bare minimum

Wow that's rough I don't know what to say except I'm glad I don't get teammates like that, sadly BHVR can't fix stupidity of your teammates, I don't understand how people can see whats happening with kindred and still not make the right play

  • If you're gonna play solo it's a good idea to bring kindred so that way when someone is hooked you know who's doing what and when it's YOU hooked they all can coordinate better and see what's happening, unfortunately that's all you can really do as a solo and even that won't fix scared or unintelligent teammates

Hello fellow players i have been playing the game for about 1.5k hours now

And ive gotta say im still bad at killer, surprisingly enough its not my fault but the games fault... some killers are just so weak its unbearable playing with them. Killers like Onryo, Trickster or Plague need a buff. I was also thinking about giving basekit shadowborn to killers that are slower than 4.6m/s (normal speed) so they feel faster and smoother to play (looking at you trickster and legion)... The update tomorrow is going to buff survivors so much anyway. They could also introduce a similar mechanic like Noed as basekit to make killers atleast get a consolation kill. My friends have also been playing for a while now and they are also agreeing with me on this topic. It is so annoying playing killer and being outran by the survivors . I have about 500 hours on killer and the highest rank ive ever gotten was Silver 1. This is so stupid, ive been forced to use Hex: no one escapes death because else i just cannot save a kill. Any thoughts ?

    Greetings Christina from belarus

Nothing personal, I do agree some killers need changes to help them but to claim that you lose and it's not your fault? That's absolutely wrong and that mindset is what's wrong with a big part of the community is being unable to go back and acknowledge mistakes that were made during a loss, and the reason I can say that confidently is because you admitted even though you've played for 1500 hours you've only made it to silver 1 as a killer, am I saying you're bad? No I'm not and I'm not hating because I respect anyone who is willing to play killer, just try to remember there are always ways you could improve, if I can take a Onryo only to iridescent 1 then so could you if you really put in the effort to get there.

  • I'm still gonna be here playing but I forsee alot of casual gamers leaving once this change is made because even though alot of people here on the forums are experienced , those who are not and don't have alot of friends on this game will more than likely drop it all together. Sure the changes were needed I'm not arguing that but I see people who already have trouble and get too frustrated at the game and I don't expect those to stick around long

  • It's alright but there's just one season right now and more familiar names are coming to season 2 like Ada Wong , it took a couple of episodes to get me into it but once I did it's really not bad and it goes into Wesker's backstory

  • I'll bet the new resident evil chapter is the Netflix version, that would explain the rabbit because in the series Wesker is testing animals and cages of rabbits are there, and we've already confirmed they're doing another RE chapter with Project W

  • You can tell by looking at some of these responses who's just a terribly ######### killer by how offended they get by the mere existence of swf

  • I'll still swf and do KYF, both of them are fun with the right people

Pretty sure this is a photoshop to make people think that Clown is ok with Maurice being missing...or maybe even implying that HE had something to do with it...

I've already alerted the proper authorities, but they can't give me any updates due to it being an active investigation...

I don't know what's going on, but I'm getting more and more worried about Maurice...

IF ANYONE HAS ANY INFORMATION, PLEASE UPDATE ME!

Can someone please explain to me why this community would be so toxic? I'm the pink Fe they are they white St. I got out the hatch when all team mates died, I took 1 hook, unhooked 2 teammates, did 2 gens, healed team mates and at the end found hatch...... apparently I should have thrown myself at the killer and be done with it out of honor...... I don't know why survivors can be sooooo toxic to each other. Its simple turn off the game if it bothers you that much

Even though I always try to help if it's not unmanageable, at the end of the day YOU bought the game to play however you want and nobody can make you do anything you don't feel like doing, I wouldn't even bother responding after the first message or two because there's no getting through to anyone else, funny how those players who talk that way are always the ones who will leave you behind in a heartbeat anyway but they expect you to do more than they wouldve done, too many people expect to get carried in this game

You admit dead hard is bullshit and you know why (I'd hope at this point) it can be an issue. There are many, many instances in which skill does not come into play and pressing E does, in fact, outplay the killer.

It's more than just pressing E because the good players aren't using it for a mistake eraser they'll use it tactfully and they'll milk a loop or area because they know when the right time to use it and in alot of people's minds they feel robbed because they were close enough to get them but they planned to run the tile the way they did and then hit dead hard to a window or a pallet because thats the most efficient way to use it and totally reset the chase, but don't pretend there aren't 1000's of boosted survivors out there who run dead hard and still get clapped anyway, at last all I've been saying is that skill DOES come into play at some point and it's more than just the dead hard when someone gets outplayed , there's still a difference between a good survivor and a bad survivor with dead hard.

You say you're not defending it by defending it. Weird strat but ok.

I'm not defending dead hard but someone claimed they only get outplayed by a button and that's just not true , at some point skill comes into that it's not just the dead hard beating someone, you could have completely trash players all running dead hard and it will never be the same as a good survivor running dead hard who is skilled and uses it the right way , sure dead hard is bullshit but for someone to completely try and say the other player isn't good because of dead hard is wrong and those people will still be crying on update day even with dead hard nerfed

A Good timed DH can Ruin a whole Match as Killer

I had a Game where i was destroying the Survivors i had 8 Hooks when only 2 Gens was finished then i was chasing a Meg that used DH at the right Moment for Distance to get a Good palett this 1 DH extend die Chase so long that all other 3 Gens was finished because the Meg was be able to get 4 other paletts

So yeah A DH can make u to lose a Game this Perk is busted and im Happy its going to be changed on tuesday

Well that's your own fault for over committing to a chase if it really was for that long but I honestly don't mind the change I don't run dead hard anyway, I'm just sick of hearing people complain and make excuses for bad gameplay and it will happen again with the next update there will be happiness for like 5 minutes after the nerf and then the tears will come flowing to the forums to nerf this or that perk because it's "broken"

If you don't understand the issue with current Dead Hard than why bother posting at all? Ignorance on full display...

I said I'm not defending current dead hard but I still stand by the fact that dead hard alone doesn't beat you and if you think that alone is the sole cause of the problem you're delusional and not as good as you might think

im playing the game bc i want to have fun but getting outplayed by a button is not fun and it robs the fun

You're not being outplayed by a button people just make too many excuses I'm not defending the current state of dead hard but dead hard alone doesn't beat you , don't worry you guys will be able to move on to the next excuse in a week or so , the forums will be flooded with complaints about the next "game breaking" issue

  • If you play this game consistently then yes it is normal, once you reach a certain point you're just thrown with anyone else above that level because MMR is so wide range to keep matches quick so it's not accurate all the time

  • Why even play the game then if you feel that way? I don't enjoy the game unless I play killer along with survivor, one side by itself is just too boring I would rather play a whole different game.

  • The first thing you need to identify is what type of runner you're playing against, do they double back or full send it without looking behind them? Always blink to the last place you saw the survivor with your first blink, if you try too hard to predict ahead or blink on top of them you'll end up making alot of mistakes unless they're a full sender and never look behind them, also remember that you can turn your camera mid blink and use that to adjust yourself when need to be in position for the hit already, the reason I said identifying runners is important is because everyone runs different and has different tricks so being able to identify their playstyle and remember who does what in the match is important, always wait until your blinks fully recharge before you use your power, it's really easy when starting out to get carried away and blink too much, you don't want to stare at the ground half the match so it's good to keep in mind, I recommend no range or recharge add ONS and take a friend into a custom game and pick a building like shack and practice blinking to every corner on the outside to get a feel for how it works, then have a friend run you at a vehicle loop so you can get used to it, a new nurse player will have alot of trouble at vehicle loops while a good nurse will eat you for breakfast if you stay at the loop but it's important to know how to handle those loops because good survivors will take advantage of a bad nurse anyway they can

  • I think most of the community was against BHVR nerfing Billy, Billy is still strong but just a shadow of his former self in my opinion, I'm a nurse main but I believe Billy is harder only because of what BHVR did there was no outcry for a Billy nerf it came out of left field after it was suggested insta saw get a rework

WOW they are shifting the balance of the game WOW SO GOOD

everything is still behind a paywall, SoloQ is miserable, playing killer is taxing af, there is no gameplay history, the report button is a letter to santa, the performance on pc and console is next to unplayable sometimes

but no let's ignore ALL of those problems because they are shift the Meta and grind. clearly u aren't the only one not trying to break the TOS here

The report being a letter to Santa has me rolling it's a very true statement, they may take reports seriously but they make it difficult to do properly it should be easier than it is, a report should bookmark a match so they can rewatch it from all aspects and use the text in the report as a guide to what happened and where they should look without the need of providing a video

  • I think nurse takes alot of skill to master ive mained her since her release and though she can feel broken in the right hands, you have to understand that person put alot of time and effort to get to that point, I challenge anyone who thinks nurse is easy to master to pull up to a KYF with your nurse and prove it.

  • I miss the outfits you used to be able to grind for now it seems like it's always a pay to have type thing unless you want to spend a ridiculous amount of shards to obtain it

  • As a killer I'd say getting a 4 man slug with a m1 killer is a great feeling after a tough match with good players, as a survivor getting flashlight saves that seem impossible, on the basement stairs on every map if you look to the left while looking down the stairs near the top of them there's a tiny hole you can see down at the basement hooks and the back of basement , I've managed to get 3 saves through it since I've started playing this game and gotten a few friends from pulling it off lol

  • Dead dawg is actually one of the more balanced maps in this game

  • @JakeCannon said:

I've attempted Nurse but tbh I get motion sickness from her. I've tried trapper(never got more than a 2k and that was lucky), hillbilly, dude with the bell, huntress and the best luck I've had is with Hag . I'm a broke mf so I only have the first 7

Sounds like you're fairly new to killer based on calling wraith the bell guy, and like you're getting to the stage where you're good enough to roll the people in the bracket below you but anyone at or above your skill level is giving you trouble , I would tough it out and try not to take the game so seriously, experiment with new killer builds and new killers and find one you have the most fun with, I'm a old school nurse main I know what the hazing is like before you really find your footing as any killer with a decent power to use.

I didn’t say now they should give out the „original“ legacy again. I just want make clear, that the grind of the last years should be rewarded in a similar way.

I'm not sure why they don't do it, it's not a smart move on their part , they claim to strive for community satisfaction but even the smallest things the majority of the community would want they won't do, it wouldn't take alot of resources for just a few things here and there that don't affect gameplay balance, I'm talking things like rewards or bloodhunts or even events, like the summer bbq event, It was great and you grinded for a reward instead of it being locked behind the paywall and the way everything looked was sick.

Don't wan't that surv. to get to tht pallet if you don't have to.

Yea for sure, alot of newbies will lunge at everything though and that's why most 360 happen in the first place, it's way more efficient to not lunge if you don't have to because if you do get spun you've just restarted the chase and tapping the button when you're close enough is basically a auto hit because the animation is quicker

  • Don't lunge when you swing close to a survivor, when you're first starting it's easy to get in that habit but it's better to get close and then tap the swing button instead of hold it and sometimes it's better to wait it out and then tap it depending on your surroundings

  • As a owner of legacy outfits I think the old ones should remain locked and those who earned them be the only ones with them, however they should make a new legacy style cosmetic that's a different color there's absolutely nothing stopping them from implementing something like that they just choose to not do it because they wouldn't be making money on it

Really no difference if you genrush in 80 or 100 seconds.

But it is when slowdowns can be stacked to the point the gen takes like 130 seconds, and then you're not considering if you get pushed off the gen, I'm not saying that the old gen times were fair I'm just saying they needed to add something else to go along with gens that isnt gonna feel like repair simulator, if they want to give more time to the trial we should be doing something other than sitting there its just stale.

  • @burt0r said:

First of all the MMR regress never came and even with it, thanks to the softening of matchmaking parameters during unbalanced queue times, it doesn't even really matter and sometimes we are back to "rainbow rank" like times.

I've been saying this all along, with MMR being as open range as it is, it might as well be non existent.

  • Lol yea but still that's just as bad it's like saying since we've put you here for so long now we're giving your button a break, I really wish BHVR would just add another objective that's required to escape and make it more interactive, then that way at least I'm doing something entertaining with the extra time that's being added into the trial

  • @MrSheep51 said:

the game is arguably harder on console as killer.

Coming from someone who owns the game on PC and console, killer is harder on console and it's not even a question because the accuracy and extra sensitivity you get on PC is crucial as killer and that's why certain killers have a slightly higher ceiling on PC, now maybe it's just me because I've played since release on PC and I'm used to it that way

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Does anyone even remember the old animations? I forgot about them as soon as the "new" ones were released

They were alot smoother than the current ones, after playing the old way for years I'll admit sometimes it is a little clunky feeling with the way they have it now

  • Hopefully they've realized that what they're doing is gonna make the game super stale for survivors in regards to the way gens have been changed and things that stack as a slowdown, I'm all for the other changes to buff some things needed for killers overall but these gen slowdowns are super boring when you're holding m1 for like 100+ seconds due to things stacking and it's gonna make the game boring for survivors, I really wish they would've made a real secondary objective that's not gens or totems to also complete before you escape, I would 100x rather do a completely different objective in the trial than to sit in the same place forever holding a button.

I have astigmatism and their “accessibility” options dont come near ideal or even “acceptable”. And if u browse this same topic you’ll see many people with with either eye or sensorial sensibility use these features to help.

also, dont pretend a shade lighter than usual is gonna provide any real in game advantage. Is it gonna help during chase? Is it gonna up ur speed by any means? Will it literally do anything other than put less strain in your eyes? The answer to all that is a flat “No”.

When you can see the red stain through the wall clearly and see the killer from further away than normal it's absolutely an advantage, and as a killer it makes everything easier to see and stealth is near impossible when they use this type of filter , again I understand some people out there may need it but for the people who don't need it it's like cheating and it provides information you wouldn't otherwise have if the filter wasn't on

  • @DY86 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3042057#Comment_3042057

U do realize people with disabilities exist right?

Yes I do but most of those people they're talking about do it for an advantage don't pretend like they're all disabled and have to have it, Also they've already added accessibility for people with color blindness and vision issues so it's totally irrelevant to bring that up when they can go to the settings and use one that's meant for them.

  • This is why I laugh when people say nurse is easy, most of these players haven't even endured the hazing it takes to become really good with her

  • Maybe if those people actually played the game still it would make sense, noob3 comes around about once a year and posts a video saying he's back only to disappear again after like two videos, I haven't seen monto in almost a year either I'm not sure what happened to him but I enjoyed watching his content back in the day.

Cool so when you see 3 random teammates with no mither you'd be happy with that right?

Yea if I'm solo I'm gonna focus gens and let them ######### with the killer the whole match because 9 times out of 10 if everyone has that perk on your team they're running sabo perks and a map offering that totally compliments the build, badham is a good example and burning a bloodied blueprint to make basement spawn in shack so they can keep you in the preschool basement the whole game and they probably have a couple with head on as well, they'll spam notifications on you and work on the gen down there just to bait you into a trap where you never get them to the hook and if you slug them they get up anyway

  • Yea it's cheating in my book, when you have to download a 3rd party program and change the way the game looks for an extra advantage it speaks for itself, that guys settings are set that way so the red stain will stand out more and be visible through the bottom of the walls I've seen it before, you take all the skill out of it with this type of thing, you can't mindgame someone who always knows where you are on the other side

  • I could take a no mither sabo squad and make you want to throw this game away forever lol
