The problem is rank reset.
Ive played hundreds of hours of this game. STOP PUTTING ME WITH NOOBS FFS!!!
Rank reset is garbage. Dead by daylight is objectively a bad game around reset. It sucks ass that you havr to grind to get fun matches. -
OP
-
The problem with DS is it can eat up too much of a killers momentum, especially when there is multiple.
Deliverance saves one guy from having to go unhook sure, but you still take that survivor down 1 hook stage, and by the time he's used deliverance you're probably closing in on the next target anyway.
They aren't comparable. DS is MUCH more damaging to killer, especially when they rob you of basement hooks and such.
The idea of a get free perk needs to go. Survivors already have bodyblocking, flashlights and sabotage for that - methods which require the input of another survivor, which helps relieve gen pressure against the killer.
-
No way in hell Nintendo would ever put Mario in this game. It's too gory for him.
If you got a character it would possibly be a girl from Fatal Frame or something. Though I guess a Mario cap wouldn't be out of the question.

that happens at every rank?
Nowhere near as much as green ranks.
I'm in green ranks at the moment and the game is almost unplayable. Every game it's just camp and NOED.
Then it gets even harder when the person being camped either gives up on the hook, or disconnects.
Plus you get people going for the unhook rather than doing gens.
Then you have the fact that in my last game I got all 5 totems and avoided NOED, all down to me. In the next game I got 4 totems and the other 3 survivors didn't manage to do that last 1 totem between them.
It's garbage. Absolute garbage. So boring.
This feels like a punishment. Why? because I made the mistake of not playing much last month until the event.
And all this advice the killer mains give "JuSt CLeAnSE TotEms" "RuSH gEnS" is worthless because I can only control what I do, not what the other 3 survivors do. Which makes the game only worth bothering with in SWF, but then killers cry and dodge SWF games and the cycle continues.
I just feel like until I get to rank 9 and above I'm not going to have any fun. It's like 5 pips per rank, you're looking at over 20 craptastic games to get to a level where the game is actually enjoyable with decent killers and survviors who don't disconnect 30 seconds in.

Nah you definitely have some good ideas, we just need those people who know the DBD math and formulas to crunch the numbers and check the timing.Poweas said:@The_Crusader said:

I'm going to edit the Brutal strength change down to 30%. That'd be pretty reasonable.
I think they want it so that the survivor can still make it to the next pallet. So it's hard to increase the speed too much. Maybe 25%?
Or what if it did something else? You kick generators faster too? What if the idea was, the killer kicks rhe gen so hard with brutal strength that it makes the gens regress a little faster than the usual rate? It buffs the perk without messing with the pallet timing.
Actually yes. Makes it regress 10% faster. That's a really good idea actually and the 25% is a balanced one. I think it'd be usable but not OP. You're a smart person. Unlike me lol.
I do think a perk which increases generator regress time would be good, whether that's brutal strength or something else. It would pair nicely with Pop goes the weasel and may perhaps provide an alternative method to the Ruin crutch we have right now. Combining it with Surveillance and discordance you could have a full gen protector build.
I imagine then perhaps survivors would get their own form of Surveillance. They already have Alert I guess which is kind of the same, or perhaps something which shows regressing generators auras since SWF get that information for free e.g. "the killer is chasing me now but my gen was 95% complete, go tap it/finish it for me". -
That's fine.AlphaJackson said:There is no easy fix to DS, it will either need to be removed

We would just play something else.
If then ban me I'll take my business elsewhere. I don't want to play with toxic idiots. -
When someone disconnects in the first 30 seconds, then the killer camps everyone else and gives an "EZ" at the end.
Yeah some people definitely have insecurity issues. -
The odd camp here and there isn't too bad, but when a killer goes straight to that on the first hook it's extremely dull.

Clown imo, but I think I'm in the minority there.
Its fun seeing some sweaty claudette run thinking she's going to loop you, then you gas her as shes running and she can't do ######### - especially with his add ons.
Plus there are the instadown bottles which are always fun.
Hag is good too but you're waiting on survivors to step into your traps there. Clown is more of a chaser.
Legion is the only one I don't like. He just feels so....bleh. -
I don't mind it too much, aside from getting stuck in the trees.
It does seem a little unfair that Balanced Landing is so hard to pull off....but then they get Haddonfield where BL becomes an SS tier perk so it evens out I guess.
Still a far better map than Rotten Fields. -
To be fair a lot of them don't have a job. In fact they play more hours of DBD per day than most of us spend at work.SenzuDuck said:@Tucking_Friggered said:

Yes, we do base balancing the game around what the best groups can do because if you do not then they can exploit whatever balance issue is there and become unbeatable.Yes, you can absolutely exploit bad killers, all they need to do is stop posting and play the game to gain more experience.
I find it odd how they all claim they dodge SWF but still have a major issue with it - almost like they just want the fun removed.
If you think SWF is hard, and you start buffing around that, you make the game impossible for solo players, well done, you've further ruined the game because some bad killers on the forum can't handle SWF.
At any point are you going to post something that isn't pointless rhetoric? The posts you are making are remedial. You can boil it down to "leave SWF broken and OP because i'd like to convince you that if you buff killers to deal with them you leave solo survivors hosed, while at the same time I hope that you aren't intelligent enough to know nerfing the living hell out of SWF will solve the issue and have none of the drawbacks."
Some of the best killers in this community know and state SWF is broken and you, an unknown in comparison, speak as if you breeze through SWF like it's nothing. It's all hot air. Nobody cares about potato groups it's about the best of the best getting a free ride because the game is exploitable with VoIP and they know how to do it to the Nth degree.
and almost everyone on this forum is a massive nobody but you expect us all to listen to them? If it looks like bias, swims like bias, and sounds like bias, then it probably is bias.
"You're a nobody Senzu, so everything you say doesn't mean anything, however all these nobody killers should be listened to because idk they agree with me".
That's right Senzu, you are an unknown and no one listens to your rhetoric particularly when it is so painfully obtuse and contrary to things fundamentally understood by the community. Even the devs have acknowledged the issues, they just don't care.
As for those nobody killers? Yeah, no. They are large streamers with cult followings that bring many players to the game and act as a constant source of entertainment for people interested in DbD. There are many days where watching one of them sparks my interest in playing and I'm certainly not alone.
What huge streamers are here talking about game issues? lmfao
You have tru3 &... who? lmao they certainly aren't here, are they.
Why would they be? The devs don't pay attention to this forum any more than they did the Steam forums. Reddit and private messages are where it's at. They also have better things to do than go over issues already talked about endlessly with unknown and intellectually dishonest people like yourself.
I love how upset you guys get by this forum.
Little bit of info for you, you're also a huge nobody. I have a different opinion to you, that's cool it's a free world. I'm sorry I don't struggle at every mechanic at this game like you do. I love playing against SWF, I never dodge lobbies and I don't cry about SWF.
I'm still super curious about this list of large streamers with cult followings that share the same "delete swf" ideology you have.
That's not called being dishonest it's called having a different opinion, surely someone with the huge intellectual capacity that someone such as yourself holds should understand that.
The main issue with this game is DS/Map Layouts. SWF is easy, stop crying and get better at the game.
I don't take you seriously my man. Hearing git gud from someone like you is akin to the survivor I kill telling me how bad I am after I removed them from the game. I can't stop them from saying it, but its self evident.
You guys are so cute, have a lovely day

You're not even a good troll. When I read delete SWF I knew I was talking to a low information poster willing to give just enough attention to have a reason to post but not attuned enough to understand the conversation in its entirety.
Right so anyway if you're going to continue this conversation - can I have all the evidence you must have of these large cult following streamers that want something done about SWF?
As far as I can tell the majority of them deal with SWF pretty well.
When it's their job of course they're gonna put up with all of it.
For the more casual players who get out of work and want to chill, dealing with 4 tbeabagging claudettes who give it the "EZ BABYKILLER #########" isn't something they want to deal with.
Edit: Love how those 3 letters starting with K are censored on here but somehow acceptable in the game. -
Agreed. We need one around the new killer launch. Think we normally get one anyway? Got a new killer and survivor to level up, plus unlock new perks on existing killers/survivors.
-
Pretty much. It also keeps the game interesting when everyone else is dead, as its very unlikely the last survior would get gens done. Even the last 2.White_Owl said:As a killer your survival depends on other three guys that might be literally braindead? No.
NOED rewards you if you fail as killer, the hatch compensates for having a bad team.
It just needs a bit of balance. I talked about an idea the other day where the killer would have exposed + kill ability once the hatch was open, but in return only the survivor could see/hear the hatch - and it never spawned until 1 survivor was left so nobody could camp it.
I think this could solve the standoff and make it mroe tense. The survivor sneaks around desperate for it, while the killer walks around looking for the survivor and wont get screwed by the weapon cooldown or decisive strike. -

Well I mean, it punishes everyone not just people who don't play enough. I play for probably a least an hour or two a day and I was sent back to rank 13 from rank 2. So I don't get what you're saying.
What I'm saying is being rank 1 and going back to 10 isn't so bad but you need to play to grind up a few ranks so you dont get left behind.
However if you dont play much and only go from rank 10 to rank 7 for example, then at reset you'll find yourself slipping far down the ranks to 13 or so. Its much harder to get a good gane here, and if you left it a week before playing then you're boned. Most survivors disconnect and most killers never leave the hook area. -
Best thing..

Yes, chasing a good survivor for a decebt amount of time, outplaying them with mindgames, none of that deserves a kill. Survivors deserve the free escape more because they made a perk choice before the game even began. Well deserved!NoxiousOnnyyxx said:Yall are killing me with nerfing ds. He has his flaws but also has his strengths. Being able to put other survivors asleep to slow them down is decent.
He is still a nightmare (no pun intended) to play against however due to this and the aura reading. -
Sounds a bit unfair to me but I haven't experienced it in game yet.
On the topic of mending they really nees to fix the input lag. If you stop runninng and start mending with a second left it doesnt work because there's a delay. No problem I thought, I'll give myself more time next time. Start mending with a decent sized chunk of bar left but no it still doesn't register in time. -

Camp after camp after camp.
I hate rank reset. Wish the devs would pull their finger out and educate the green ranks on how to play.
Camping can be easily punished by doing gens, it is your fault that you thought you could save someone who was being camped by the killer.
You don't say....
I did do gens actually. My complaint is that its about as much fun as watching paint dry.
Everyone knows its the interactions with the killer and the suspense that make survivor fun. Not holding M1 on a gen while the killer stands at the other side of the map staring at someone on the hook.
So I made it out but man are they boring games. Also how much fun do you think the people being camped had?
It's not our fault at all, it's the killers fault for playing lame.
After rank reset every game is me doing gens for the hatch while everyone else gets camped and farmed. This is how green ranks were. It needs to change.
Alright, listen here, chill with the "You don't say" Got it?
First off, yes, the player being camped is not having any fun. Don't know why that would matter to you considering from it sounds like you're playing solo. Yes, it sucks that they are being camped and yes, it sucks that you are just doing gens and not being chased, as being chased is the only fun thing in this entire game, if you don't like it, then maybe you should join the person being camped.
Nobody finds 5 camping games in a row fun. Nobody. It's just one of those problems with rank reset. -

Now i remember why I love rank reset
Toxic swf in every game as killer
As survivor, people who disconnect 30 seconds into the game when they get dribbled to the hook, and then a killer with no honour who facecamps everyone else anyway.
Such joy.
-
The games were pretty good before reset.
But man, seems ALL the most toxic survivors are on today. Plus my favourite, swf abusing object of obsession. -
Sure. I mean DS has frustrated many people for 2+ years but I'm sure this would go down just fine.
-
The immersed Claudettes often tend to burn this as an offering.
It's not good. -
Survivors already get little BP as it is.
-
I like those reports. You play so well people accuse you of cheating.
-
Juggling Decisive to the hook and having them rage quit mid-juggle.
The sheer entitlement... -
Really underutilized mechanic. It's just a perk. Nothing really changes.
Not only that but some perks are just bad. Dying Light encourages tunneling and DS is the most busted and broken perk in the entire game. Plus why can non-obsessions use it? That defeats the purpose of being the obsession.
Perhaps if Obsession became a feature rather than perks then it could have allowed for more experimentation. Both killer and survivor have to opt-in while in the lobby, then the game picks one of the volunteers as the obsession and random effects apply i.e:
- This survivor has +20% repair speed for the game, but when they're on the hook everyone else suffers -20% repair speed.
- This survivor has the broken effect all game, but if they escape all survivors gain a huge BP reward at the end.
- This survivors aura is revealed for 5 seconds every 60 seconds, but for them alone the killers terror radius goes from 32m to 46m
- This survivor can heal at double speed, but if they're within 8 metres of another survivor more than 5 seconds than that other survivors aura is shown to the killer.
I mean these aren't perfect examples they're just off the top of my head but you get the point. You could introduce a lot of stuff to mix up the game. Whereas right now Obsession = Decisive Strike.
-
I tend to cycle through killers to keep it fresh. Each one plays different so it's fun to use them all. I tend to use weaker killers after reset, and a select few once I hit red ranks.
As for survivors I'd like to mix it up but not really possible yet. I have all perks on Feng so I stick with her outside of dailies. After I've unlocked all perks on all killers though I'd like to unlock more survivors. -
It shoukd have given then Rancor, instadown and kill once exit gates are powered or when hatch is open.Bravo0413 said:Okay but what should DS give to the killer? After use should it expose the others for such and such time? Should it hinder the gen progression of the user by a certain amount of percent?
But they made Rancor a perk now so.... -
Yes. Screw the freeloaders.
-
DS is the most unfair and unfun perk in the entire game.....actually make that in any game I've ever played.
-
Single player wouldn't add much. At this point people see DBD as a multiplayer game and buy it for that.
They could always have a spinoff game though. Perhaps starring Feng :chuffed: -

Possibly Hag. She can be everywhere. If you don't have Urban Evasion it becomes so much harder too. Her camp game is incredibly strong. -
Yeah I've noticed that too.
Not complaining though. They still have all the strongest crutch perks. Better than facing good survivors with DS and such. -
I use Bond and if I see someone tbagging I leave them.
Chances are the killer will camp them. If not I'll help them so that we can work together to open the gates but if they go down after that I tbag them via aura at the exit gates and leave. -
