Why not.
I just want to play another game that's it.Trust me, i don't like it either when a Survivor hides very well for those 4 "Dying state" minutes.
But i said the BP thing cause, if you have a button to suicide while Dying, you could very easily reduce the BP gain to the mere 50 in Deviousness.
And you could also troll them by making them walk all the way to you, then die just before you get picked up.This isn't necessarily to look out for Killers, but just to reduce potential trolling.

Sacrificing & suiciding have the same results (they're dead), but one of those is just not rewarding at all. That's why you just allow the player to increase bleed out speed rather than a straight suicide. Killers gain BP based on blood lost, rather than time in dying state and that way it works out the same whether they bleed out in 1 minute or 2 minutes.
-
Hold M1 to recover
Hold M2 to bleed out at 2x speed
Solved.
The killer still gets some time to look for the other survivor, and if the one on the ground is bleeding out then they still have the chance to hook. Might stop people from getting bored and disconnecting too.
-
Enduring doesn't negate DS. People say 1 second but it's actually a bit longer, plus there is the catch up time.
If you take it in the open you can probably make it up fast, however if the survivor goes down next to a strong loop it can still really extend the chase. I've took a DS with enduring next to wretched shop loop, needless to say enduring didn't do much good at all there.
The survivor is running somewhere when they go down. It all depends on how close they are to their destination.
-
A button to bleed out faster would be nice. Many other games have this, You're left on the ground for ages while the killer stays within close proximity. There's nothing you can do, but many killers expect you to sell out the other survivor.

People bringing up NOED again, sheesh...
Most of us have already admitted that NOED sucks too. We are not a fan.
I think _at the very least__ when a dull totem is cleansed a counter should appear on the side of the screen for a few seconds, just an image of a totem and a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc everytime a totem is cleansed. This would help put solo closer to swf. It sucks taking out 4 totems solo, assuming the other 3 survivors have cleansed the last because you can't see it and then bam, NOED.

Yes, but for 1 if-statement added to the perk, you'd only have to avoid getting DS'ed 1 single time. If you managed to get anyone dead without getting DS'ed, further DS's will be significantly less impactful when there's only 3 people alive.
Yeah but that's a bif "IF". It would still be possible to use it with 4 survivors alive.
I think if non-obsessions can use an obsession perk, then obsession perks like Dying light and rancor should apply to the non-obsession too if they are using an obsession perk.
Dying light - 25% if the obsession dies, 10-15% if a non-obsession dies.
Rancor - exposed + kill on the obsession, exposed only on non-obsession.
Sure it would cripple STBFL but these 2 perks get massive buffs so it's worth it.
It's only fair..
Rancor = NOED+ now

To me, that's the simplest solution yet achieving a decent result, allowing killers to get their early game pressure when deserved.
It still allows all survivors on generators to stay on generators. -
Lets look at the outcome...BlackReaper said:@HavelmomDaS1 said:
I just watched this match and I can absolutly confirm this situation as beeing totally unfun and stupid. Wiggle DS is the strongest thing survivors can have and I really don't know how the devs thought this is fine or balanced. One wiggle DS can make you lose the match, no matter how good you played it.It's the first chase so there is no real need for a time stamp I guess.
DS must be overhaul, but you guys are blind? the real problem here is not DS, is how fast the game end, DS is not a problem if you have time to chase them again, "ok he DS and now i have to caught him again", yeah thats kinda sucks but it's ok unless you get the 5 gens done already, in the process. At least is what i think about this.
Free escape = 3 survivors left to do gens freely.
Now lets look at the options if he got that hook
Option 1: Survivors leave this guy to die, tru3 goes to chase another survivor = 2 survivors off gens 2 zurvivors on gens
Option 2: A survivor goes for the rescue, tru3 finds him and chases him, a different survivor comes off gens and goes for the rescue = 3 survivors off gens, 1 survivor on gens
Option 3: 1 survivor goes for the rescue and heal, tru3 finds a different survivor and begins a chase = 3 survivors off gens, 1 survivor on gens
The whole way killer works is by applying pressure to get survivors off gens. DS alone stops all that. Thus gen rush. It's too powerful for 1 perk.
At least if the survivors really wanted to deny this hook they could bodyblock, which given the distance would have probably taken all 3 survivors = 0 survivors on gens OR they go for a flashlight blind = an extra survior off gens getting into position for the flashlight save.
DS just kills a killers momentum and pressure and requires no effort from the other 3 survivors. All this from 1 perk. -
Read again. Nobody is defending Noed.darktrix said:And NOED 'Literally changes the entire outcome of the game' as well. So what? Long as there is noed I don't mind people taking DS at all. I forget which perk came first.
That mentality just leads to a battle of the broken perks. One side brings one so the other side brings the other. The entire outcome about o be swung by 2 perks.
Except noed is at a disadvantage because it can be disabled. -

The devs tested the garbage self-care so they should be able to test this too.
Oh I agree, It'd still be completely broken but at least it would prevent 3+ gen loops.
I'd gladly say goodbye to NOED if DS and adrenaline go with it but problem is if they did this there would be outrage from people who use those perks which is a lot and the devs wouldn't keep the change.
But this why we say NOED and DS/Adrenaline. Many would be willing to give up one if the other went. -
No it's definitely a thing at low ranks. I didn't play survivor much last month so didn't rank up too far. Now I'm stuck with the newbies. Many never leave the hook area. To make it worse some survivors just yank you off anyway.scorpio said:I find it hard to believe people are actually camped and tunneled this often/as often as they claim on this board all the time. However, I don't find it hard to believe that they are salty they got caught, that they were bad at hiding after being unhooked so the killer found them again, they were bad at looping so they got caught another time, that their teammates were near the hook so the killer stayed nearby, that they consider not leaving the map entirely to be "camping," or that they think the killer should run away from the hook even when all gens are done and the doors are open.
I'm trying to grind my way up the ranks as fast as possible because it isn't as common in high rank. -
Better solution
We start a Gofundme. The balance team wake up to find a huge wad of cash on their desks. Decisive strike is no more. World peace is declared. People hold hands and sing hallelujah. -
Wouldn't solve it.tt_ivi_99 said:The only problem I have with DS is that it's an obsession perk, right? Well... where is the down side to It? All the other obsession perks have a down side except DS.
It'd be a balanced perk if It worked as Deliverance:
After performing a Safe Hook Rescue on another Survivor, the Perk activates.
If you are the Obsession, once per trial, when grabbed by the Killer, succeed at a tremendously/considerably/moderately difficult skill check to escape the killers grasp and stunn them for 3'5 seconds.
If you are not the Obsession, once per trial, while in the Killer's grasp, once the wiggle meter has reached 40 %, succeed at a tremendously/considerably/moderately difficult skill check to escape the killers grasp and stunn them for 3'5 seconds.
After performing an escape from the killer's grasp thanks to DS you gain the Broken Status Effect for 100/90/60 secs.
With Deliverance you at least ger a hook. Eith DS you get nothing. The free escape is simply too powerful.
Broken doesnt make much difference as survivors often get chased after a DS anyway so they couldn't heal. Plus people would just leave it until the last hook, or when the hatcb/exit gates are open they are still granted a free escale.
The only way to balance it would be to combine it with No Mither. Give them a free escape on a button press but they're broken the whole game. -
The 7k hatch points definitely needs to go. 5k tops, maybe 4k since it is a pity escape.
7k just encourages survivors to stay in after the gates are open to find the hatch. It drags the game out. -
Its not just swf that bring multiple DS.Tarvesh said:What about making it so that no survivor in SWF can bring the same perk, or bring more than two of the same perks?
4 solos can bring it, each one hoping to be the obsession.
The devs know DS its op, they've admitted it, but still....nothing. -
DS is an obsession perk. Why does anyone other than the obsession get to use it?
Ok lets make it fair. If I bring Dying Light I get to use it on anyone with an obsession perk too.
25% speed reduction if the obsession is dead, 10-15% for every survivor killed carrying an obsession perk.
Oh wait....that would be fair. We can't have that. -

Small game is part of my solo build for a very good reason, mainly because randoms don't care about totems.
Plus why does 1 survivor have to do all totems? It gives a huge advantage to the killer having 1 zurvivor off gens.
Its something thats 1000 times easier for swf, and when there is such a huge penalty if you dont cleanse them then yeah it's an issue. -

Yes i do realize about that, but if we keep going this way we are gonna give enough tools to mediocre killers to be able to defeat good survivors. I wouldn't call that balance. Not necessarily, no.
I'd say current balance is like this:
Low skilled Killers > Low Skilled Survivors
Mid skilled Killers = Mid skilled Survivors
High skilled Killers < high skilled SurvivorsAnticipated balance is this:
Low skilled Killers = Low Skilled Survivors
Mid skilled Killers = Mid skilled Survivors
High skilled Killers = high skilled SurvivorsEach skill bracket is balanced.
If we balance around high skilled players, people always expect it to look like this:
Low skilled Killers >> Low Skilled Survivors
Mid skilled Killers > Mid skilled Survivors
High skilled Killers = high skilled SurvivorsThat doesn't have to be the case. No one says we had to screw over the balance for the low and mid skilled players, it should totally be balanced in those skill brackets aswell BUT I say the core balance, the benchmark should be aimed at high rank players because they play the game in an optimal and efficient way. Others make too many mistakes, lack the skill and experience to truly make use of certain mechanics ect, it's hard to consider such things when you want to balance. You look at rough power of perks and mechanics without considering human failure, that's an optimal playstyle and if both sides play optimally, that should lead to a balanced match.
And to be a bit more related to OP: If you consider that, you'll find out that DS, in the hand of high skilled survivors, is indeed too strong. You can handle 1 or 2 but 4? No. Either limit DS for just the obsession and find a weaker alternative for non-obsession (weaker regarding it's effect) or completly rework it.

Agreed, both perks caused enough problems and for the sake of future balance and fun of the game, both of them should go.
It is not even about balance, these 2 perks divide the community too much, not having them is a lot healthier.
It's not just OP, it's really sucks the fun out of playing killer.
Adrenaline or insta heals can feel powerful but they don't provide that same gut wrenching feeling as working hard in a chase and then having it ripped away from you with no counter play.
NOED isn't that much of an issue for me in swf but solo yeah it just feels cheap. Taking out 4 totems and then going down anyway and being camped out because the other survivors cant get the last totem. Killers should be encouraging solo play so this needs to go.
Plus there is the fact that anyone can use Noed. On a weak killer you can spend time cleansing totems, on a good Billy though you're under that much pressure you don't have time to cleanse them all and yes good killers still use Noed.
-
BBQ is fine. Encourages the killer to not camp and tunnel.
It's only overwhelmingly strong on Nurse and Billy anyway. Other killers not so much imo -
They come up so often and as you say survivors often burn offerings too, especially toxic claudettes.
You can have a session on dbd and be expdcted to play coldwind in at least half of those maps. It's BS. -

Wow.
The loading screen issues...nothing we can do. As much as I love to rip on DS, the loading issues are hands down the biggest problem the game has right now.
Its been going on for so long that I'm surprised they haven't figured out the issue yet. Every update I pray it's going to be in the patch notes but nothing.
I do believe though that is it probably at the very top of their priority list. -
Probably rank reset. Green ranks tend to disconnect more.

@Vietfox Well the video lasts over 8 minutes and you posted 6 minutes after me so you didn't watch it all and I'd bet that you didn't watch more than 30 seconds.
Nobody plays perfect all the time. You can watch any great player and critique something they did in the game. It's easier to watch a video and say what they should have done in hindsight.
Fact is he was going to get a basement hook as trapper - which is huge. Survivor denied that, got a free escape, and tru3 got no hook after a lengthy chase - which was huge for the survivors.
There is no argument to be had. Decisive Strike cost him that game. Had that not happened things would have been massively different. One perk should not be able to affect the outcome of the game that much.
Before people cry "but noed!", i don't like noed either. -
I think Windows could be too strong with no cooldown. Sometimes you need survivors to mess up to end chases early. Showing them where a pallet is they might not see 24/7 allows for no mistakes on the survivor side.
However I do agree that the current WOO is a bit weak. You have a vault or pallet planned out anyway so it's worthless for 40 seconds after that. At best it helps show you the one beyond the one you had planned.
What if it worked for the next 1/2/3 pallets/vaults shown? So you could use your pallet, then a vault, then it would help you find one more and after that you're on your own?
I personally think it should be 2 but that wouldn't work as well with the tiered perk system. -
Oh you mean Claudettes.
Well the devs will say it's fine, it's about taking care of yourself etc
I tend to force them to work. I use Bond and if I know Claudette is hiding and not contributing then I lead the killer to them. Sadly though sometimes the killer doesn't seen them despite being right next to them.
In fact I've considered taking Diversion as well just for these kind of people. -
Combine DS with No Mither and it's fixed. They get a free escape and can't be slugged, but they have to be broken right from the start
Buffs No Mither and gives a downside to DS. -
And Vietfox keeps coming up with excuses everytime a complaint is made regarding something survivor sided.Vietfox said:And people keep using Tru3's videos as an example, hilarious.
I can relate to that video, as can many killers. So it's not just a Tru3 thing. -
Bloodlust might seem powerful against rank 20s but that's it. It ends when you break pallets, which is something you will have to do as many are ultra safe, and if you're getting bloodlust 2 or 3 then your chases are going on too long.

The good:
- 9 unlockables. Feedback to blight was that offering 1 was cheap, so they outdid themselves this time and gave away more cosmetics than ever before. That was nice, many other companies would have been "screw you, hand over the cash".
- The progressive way coins were unlocked 100, 200, 300 etc. Everyone could jump on and have a full outfit within a day or two. Even casual players could walk away with something. Then for the heavy players there was still more they could grind for. It didn't punish those people who didn't play enoigh hours.
The bad:
- Survivors not doing gens, sandbagging each other, hatch camping etc just generally playing crappy. Really ruined solo survivor imo
- swf genrush
- Didn"t really change the game too much as killer. I get that was the intention which was nice but personally I'd rather have the event mix things up more. Killer felt underwhelming. Walking past a lantern and smashing it wasn't as satisfying as that SSSLURRRP you got from a blight hook.
- Not enough offerings in the bloodweb originally. Which meant you didn't get full 5 offerings like you woukd on blight.
- Linking with the point above, those who burnt offerings got no real reward. Sucked to spend bloodpoints on an envelope, use it, then have some Claudette take your lantern she didn't pay for, sandbag you, then hide in the basement while you''re on the hook. People who burnt event offerings should have some kind of bonus or advantage.
Overrall as a solo survivor player I didn't like it because survivors stopped working as a team. As killer it was just kind of "meh".
I preferred blight. Though the one advantage this has over blight is that as a survivor you could still participate even when you had all the coins. In blight once you got the vials you couldnt harvest nectar, so you do gens while your team gets nectar, which means the killer only goes for you. This event never had that problem. -
