  • Played as nurse for a daily and after a blink my attack would land just a fraction off hitting a rock just next to them or a generator or tree. What a horrible time for a curse
Yup. I just started using her recently and I can feel the game forcing me to hit objects if there is one near the survivor.

When I started to play Spirit thats when they broke the sounds too.

Seems they just hate me :(
  • I get one solo survivor disconnecting due to salt. It's not good but I can understand it.

However those that d/c because their friend is waiting on the hatch, that's just plain cheating. Wish the devs would actually do something about that one.
  • Ok you want to know why killers are so picky about lobbies? Here are 2 games I just had..

When you have the nerve to play the game properly...

When you're winning, not even slugging but one disconnects so their friend can get the hatch anyway.

Let me be clear that these aren't uncommon at all, in fact they're VERY common. We don't want SWF who cheats and D/C to deny the killer points for the hook. I don't even slug ffs.

We don't want verbal abuse just for playing the game by you know....killing people as killer.

I'll continue to be picky as long as survivors are like this. Oh and if you don't ready up on time you're getting kicked back to the main menu. I'm not having some idiot do a last second change to P3 claudette with a flashlight. It's not that they're too hard, it's that those people are incredibly toxic. If you join a lobby you don't need 60 seconds to prepare, do it BEFORE you join the lobby.

  • Salt. Lots of lots of salt.

That and the disconnect sound, which can be pretty hilarious.

    opens locker
    DONG

Hit a survivor in first minute of the game
    DONG!

Glance in the direction of a survivor that has just been unhooked
    DONG!

The way they suddenly fall flat on the floor too, sometimes it's hilarious.

I saw this on reddit, this is what I think of when I think of Dead by Daylight

Sometimes the killer will be looking a different direction completely and still hit you. Really makes playing survivor a chore instead of fun. Hitboxes need too be fixed.

Play killer, you will get really frustrated with the new pallet system and when you get autoaimed into stuff

autoaimed into stuff? you mean like walls, barrels, pallets, hooks etc?

    Yes

I've seen a few people alluding to it on reddit, I've seen killers miss a few weird swings against me and hit pallets which doesn't normally happen, but most of all yes I've felt the auto-aim pull me into stuff. Really annoying as Nurse. In fact that I it happen in one of truetalents streams earlier.

    Guess it's official then. sigh

I thought nurse doesnt have this kind of auto aim, but I can confirm it on "normal" killers^^
But ya know, pallets got buffed too with the longer stun animation. Its really pathetic how the devs throw in the shadow nerfs and the pallet aim bug will probably fixed in half a year or sth

I've definitely had the same issue as Nurse where it pulls me towards objects.

Guessing once the toxic survivors find out they'll try and force it to happen. Sure 1 has already.

@Orion In response to what you said earlier to me , yes I guess for now I do have to deal with it , but as not queen said in the other thread to me its very well a possibility that when dedicated servers come out that lobby dodging punishments be one of the things reviewed though right now with the ping indicator being there for the killer to detect a bad lobby it's not fair to take that but we both know that's because the killer is the host and they don't have the servers yet , so I'll just keep my fingers crossed and play the game, but I have a feeling that it will happen and I'm gonna love it when it does , think about it once they fix the matchmaking coming in together and implement the servers , that would be the last real step to fully optimize the match making and make it fair to the people who wait and the fact it's becoming a bigger problem that more people are conplaining about something will probably get done.

If they punish killers for dodging lobbies a lot of people will just stop playing the game.

They need to tackle the reason why people dodge lobbies, an example being the toxicity.

You have no idea if a survivor is going to be toxic before entering the match. You're using biased past experiences to judge survivors on the character they choose, the clothes they choose, they name they choose. Could they be toxic? Or course but anyone wearing or carrying anything could. For all you know you're missing out on a fun match because you refuse to play certain lobbies. You've had bad experiences and instead of challenging yourself and moving past them you use them as an excuse to dodge.

I get it, killer is harder but if you're that confident in yourself at your rank you would give those hard lobbies a chance once in a while. Doesn't have to be every single one but maybe 2-3 times a week say I'm not dodging this today and see if it surprises you.

Unfortunately the toxicity is in a cycle now. Killers complain survivors do toxic stuff such as gen rush, ds etc so they have a reason to camp/tunnel/mori. Survivors use the camping/tunneling/moris to bring in their 'toxic' perks/items. The only REAL toxicity should be considered the end game chat toxicity or holding the game hostage. Perks, items and add-ons are intended and shouldn't be considered toxic. Live with them. If you feel they're unbalanced continue to advocate for a change in them without calling out any survivor/killer that uses them as 'toxic'. The meaning of that word in gaming has been lost in DbD.

I have no idea why killers dodge some lobbies, but in general there is consistency among toxic players. You get a feel for it.

I don't dodge every lobby. i do dodge some though. I decide which killer I want to play before the game begins. If I see some toxic looking noob3 wannabe and I'm playing a good killer then I couldn't care less. Spirit, Clown, Hag, Nurse etc in fact if it's clown and I bring his green add ons and enduring then their DS won't affect me - since it's obvious they will have that perk.

If I decide I want to play Pig or Freddy though? and they're tbagging me at the other side of a pallet, and you can't do ######### because some loops in the game are just too safe, then you know that when you finally get them down after eating pallets they'll just d-strike and get away free anyway. Sure you can ignore them but then you've got some idiot running around with a flashlight trying to get your attention every second, and I get that it has them off gens but sometimes I just want to play a normal game and I can't be bothered with that. I can't be bothering loading in and seeing the aura of some idiot with object of obsession tbagging me from the other side of the map.

Sometimes you just want to play a normal game with normal people. Why should I have to tolerate these people who just want to ruin the game for me by being as annoying as possible?

and it's obvious why people avoid SWF, the communication tool is a HUGE advantage. What's the incentive to play against them? people have asked for something as simple as extra BP but the devs won't have it. Give people an incentive to deal with the harder games.

When it comes to perks from licensed DLC, you have to pray that they end up in the Shrine. That's the only way you can obtain them without spending money.

Did not know about the shrine. Sounds like it is luck based to me.

That is pretty damn uncool to be honest. I remember when Battlefront tried to be blatantly P2W. The backlash was so bad that EA was forced to rework their entire system.

Probably too late for something like this to happen here, but Christ, seeing this crap in more and more games is enough to make one reconsider gaming as a hobby!

There's a huge difference between DBD and Battlefront. A HUGE difference.

I think DBD dlc is really good value. It's around £5 every 3 months. That's really cheap compared to other games. I can understand it being pricey for new players since there are so many packs now (they should really consider a GOTY edition) but going forwards it's not bad at all.

The cosmetics are really overpriced but I guess that's true of all games.
  • Why do we need perks to affect vaulting speed is what I'm asking. Vaulting speed is fine. It doesn't need to be affected by anything.
  • They're reworking him so there is no point giving him buffs right now.

Plus letd be honest people hate playing against him. This would make it 100 times worse. Nobody likes the fact that he can always see your aura from afar. Plus having to run around like a headless chicken trying to find a teammate to work you up or a gen you can self-destruct just isn't fun.

These buffs would be good for Freddy players but awful for survivors.
  • Vaults are fine and a good vaulting loop can already hurt most standard killers.
  • Master said:

The fix is called PC

I'm pretty sure this is the only way. I've seen console games get nice performance upgrades before but in general they're still sub-optimal if they started out bad. I get a feeling DBD will only ever be able to improve so much without a complete rework.
  • Spirit is more powerful, far more fun to play and has far more useful perks. There's no contest.
  • Makes sense, it must have been Satan himself who gave them the idea for Decisive Strike.
  • Can I just say that this "lose 2 pips" system isn't very fair on new players as what happens is every who quits a lot ends up in green ranks, around 15 which is the lowest most can go. This means when you're new and working your way up, or if you only play casually and so don't play enough to rank up before reset - then these people are punished because they get put with all the disconnecters in their games.

Green rank survivor was so frustrating for me for this reason. Well also the fact that killers mostly camp and tunnel but this just made it worse.

I feel the quitters should be punished in a way that doesn't harm other players.
  • If you win just give them an "EZ babysurvivor git gud".

But in general its best to just leave the lobby and not stay around for the chat.
  • Everybody hates the corn but still there has been no adjustment to it.

As if the coldwind maps weren't a big enough pain already with their see-through walls and ultra safe pallets....

People would stop playing the game if they punish killers for dodging? Well it's not like people are able to play the game to begin with... And I just want to make sure we're all on the same page. When a killer cannot catch a survivor (Survivor does not teabag or anything) that is not toxic. We are supposed to run and try to dodge killer hits. Get it? Dodge killer hits, dodge lobbies. XD But anyways Every player does not win every game and when killer loses and cries toxic survivors, just try again is all. Each game should bring new trial and errors, win or lose.

They need to tackle the reason why people dodge lobbies, an example being the toxicity.

You can run and try to evade the killer but there's no need to run all the biggest crutches, tbag at every pallet, use a macro to click the flashlight, then sneak around the map for 10 mins at the end looking fir the hatch when you have the exit gates open, and then drop pallets so the killer has to come over and watch you tbag and hit you before you leave. Then there is the "gg ez babykiller go take your own life" talk at the end.
  • I've started using her myself too.

I'm going with add ons to give me 3 blinks mostly. I'd like to cut it down to 2 eventually though.

    For perks..

Shadowborn - At level 3 you can see survivors legs quite easily during fatigue so you don't lose them during a chase.

Stridor - Hear survivors better to help you track them.

Sloppy butcher/Bloodhound - I haven't tried this out myself as I don't have the perks but I imagine it could be good.

BBQ - Nurse can really take advantage of this as she can travel quite far.

Nurse calling - Can see survivors healing then blink over to them.

Ruin - Slow the game down while you're not yet too quick in chases.

Discordance - Find survivors rushing gens.

Basically the best strategy against Nurse is to break line of sight and hide from her in a chase, or to use stealth while outside of a chase. So as Nurse you want perks that are going to help you find and track survivors easily. Aura reading perks and such. Consider these training wheels.

As for blinks, just practise. 3 is good because it gives you an extra chance to align yourself. 4 would be better but I think the add ons start becoming rarer for that.
  • Having it on unrelenting seems pointless. Sprint burst and balanced are normally activated before the hit. Lithe too mostly.

Only dead hard would be stopped most of the time.
  • @Orion In response to what you said earlier to me , yes I guess for now I do have to deal with it , but as not queen said in the other thread to me its very well a possibility that when dedicated servers come out that lobby dodging punishments be one of the things reviewed though right now with the ping indicator being there for the killer to detect a bad lobby it's not fair to take that but we both know that's because the killer is the host and they don't have the servers yet , so I'll just keep my fingers crossed and play the game, but I have a feeling that it will happen and I'm gonna love it when it does , think about it once they fix the matchmaking coming in together and implement the servers , that would be the last real step to fully optimize the match making and make it fair to the people who wait and the fact it's becoming a bigger problem that more people are conplaining about something will probably get done.

  • They're changing the matchmaking anyway so that all survivors spawn in at the same time. This was no doubt deliberately done to stop killers from lobby dodging swf. So you don't need to worry about that for much longer.

Players might still be dodged however based on how they look/their usernames.

It's not that killers want easy game, they want fun games. The community is incredibly toxic. People just want a normal game, not some noob3 wannabe running around acting like a complete ass all game.
  • On the odd occasion it's fun to hide in the basement as you know who with Insidious.

The look on their faces as they run into the basement then hear the chainsaw start up. I can often get a 4k that way.

  • This is the problem with this community.

They came in tbagging, flashlight clicking, hitting you with multiple DS, then they disconnect and cry when you have the nerve to ruin their fun.

  • Nurse's Calling is OP as hell on Spirit. They don't know you're going over to them if you phase walk.

Just don't let the devs know in case they nerf it :p

I'd like to see the escape rate only counting games where NOED hasn't been used.

    THIS ^^

They point to a 2 kill ratio to say the game is balanced. That number isn't accurate at all. Take out all the games where NOED activated and see what the ratio is then. This also isn't accounting for the added kills where whoever the last guy to get hooked when gates are powered gets face camped. Or survivors accidentally getting caught just because they were trolling after the gates were open.

It should only count kills prior to gates being powered. Then we'd see how actually "balanced" it looked.

Everytime I see a Wraith, Leatherface or Pig there wouldn't be a single kill without NOED. Almost every single time.

I play solo and do 2-3 totems but it seems the other 3 survivors can't do 2-3 totems between them.
'Ey meng, when I played as Piggerino yesterday, I got 5 kills off the RBTs alone.  Two of them with an additional 30 seconds tagged onto them, even.  Sure, I'm playing console, but dat still not too shabby.
Getting kills off the RBTs takes a lot of luck lol

Yeah there can be good Pig players out there who can win most games with her but in general she's one of the weaker killers so a number of people struggle with her or Wraith or LF etc, killers who have to spend a lot of time eating pallets.
I do not dispute that; I'm mainly standing up to the notion of equatint Pig (or even the other two) with "welp, guess they're getting no kills if they not using NOED."
Well no not all do but I see a lot of the lower tier killers in situations where Ruin saves them at the end. Unlike Billy or Nurse where they always get kills during the game.

It happens so frequently I have to believe that NOED plays heavily into the sub-50% escape rate. But if we saw the stats perhaps I would be proven wrong.
  • They wont ban you, hatch standoff isnt bannable. They were just as guikty for blocking the hatch and not trying to kill you.

As for a clean record....LOL. Not possible. Everyone gets reported for hacking if they win from time to time, or lag switching because ya know the connection wont always be perfect for every single survivor.
  • Spirit, Clown and Hag are all good.

I would personally put Spirit and Hag under Billy on the tier list, so 3rd/4th place. Which one is best is up to you. Spirit is offensive and Hag is more defensive. You chase and cut off survivors as Spirit but with Hag you kind of let them come to you, or your traps should I say.

Clown is good but plays more like a standard killer. You don't get looped half as bad though as survivors drop pallets early and you can slow them down to hit them befofe they get to pallets. I'd say he's the easiest to play and I like him but some people don't. He also isn't quite as strong as Hag or Spirit.

All 3 are good though and worth buying imo Plus all 3 have good perks worth unlocking.
  • Hag is good but she's part of the uppertier.

Legion also as he can slow the game down by dashing about and injuring a lot.

Surprisingly Freddy too. Put survivors to sleep and watch as they run around trying to find generators to slow up. It slows them down a fair bit.

This game is broken it’s no fun playing as a survivor I can literally be a killer with no perks and kill everyone it’s pointless learn how to make a balanced game.. hook placements are horrible. And to top that off killers can see survivors more than survivors could see killers. If that’s the case might as well show me on the map entirely lmao this game is a joke
    Can you do that then?

Make a video as killer with no perks, no add ons and kill everyone? I'd be curious to see it.

Truetalent tried to get to rank 1 like that and in the end he had to stop using all characters and stick to Nurse to accomplish it, and even then some games he struggled.

lmao I just had a Clown who had NOED, Bloodwarden and BBQ.

He got looped by one guy for most of the game. Looped....as Clown!!

I trust you went ahead and offered him some non-condescending, friendly advice about how to get more effective as Clown. You did, right?

He leave chat as soon as game ended.

I used to try and give people advice but they take offence to losing and being offered advice so I dont bother anymore.

I mean some of it was inside the asylum which is full of safe pallets but the parts outside of that yeah he couldnt have been using bottle too effectively, though when I saw him he was so not sure how it took so long.
  • @Ryuhi Very well said. DS isn't as simple as the 4 seconds people make it out to be, it kills a killers momentum and pressure and that's extremely important especially at top ranks when gens go super fast.

It's not as bad against Nurse although it can eat into pressure she has but it can be brutal against low tier killers - killers that rely on survivors to make mistakes, as DS is basically a get out of jail free card for when said survivor does make a mistake.

Personally I don't get looped by DS for ages because I'm one of those people that ignores the obsession all game. Funnily enough I tend to win most games when I do this, and games I've lost in the past have been where I chased the obsession first.
  • I feel bad for this person. Look at the excitement in their post, look at the joy.

Now imagine their face as they load into the game, take 5 steps forward and suddenly Ruin is cleansed.

    This is just cruel.
  • Its meant to slow the gane down just a little bit. This would stop the game completely.
  • Nurses calling is great on low terror radius killers like Spirit, Myers, Hag etc.

Myers it should be really effective on with his low terror radius, even more so with M&A as they will have no idea your coming.

Thana....probably not. It seemed ok when I used it on spirit but in general I wouldnt, especially not on Myers.

Its not too bad on Legion though as it punishes survivors for not healing.
  • Yeah this map is frustrating. I've asked for changes before but so far nothing. I just find it incredibly boring when everyone runs to the maze-like mess that is the pantry.

Best thing to do is to try and avoid the pantry. If someone runs there early try to get rid of a pallet or two. You need to start clearing that area asap. Don't do them all though it wastes too much time. Don't be afraid to break chase.

Also I tend to play dirty with anyone who runs to pantry. Camping and tunneling becomes acceptable if they're gonna run there everytime.
  • Depends.

For most killers probably a couple of metres. For Billy about half a mile.
  • Not all swf are bad. I've had random people add me and others as friends and then we played as swf but they weren't using voice comms.

I just wish they would deal with the toxicity that certain swf bring.

Losing isn't so bad but it is when they stay in the game hiding for an extra 5 minutes, or force you to walk around the map just to watch them tbagging, and then they tell you to go die in the post game chat.
  • Yeah on the dev stream they said they are creating its own unique hook generator tool for it.

It's not done yet but hopefully won't be too far off. The current one for the other maps doesn't work too well on meat plant due to the 2 floors so it needs its own.

Exactly! I think that killers should behave like every single survivor has DS and act accordingly. If killers are really torn up about the four seconds of stun and release time, maybe they should work harder to become better players.

Well the devs already admitted DS is OP so....no its not about becoming better players.

And killers DO act like every survivor has DS. Thats half of the issue here. You can't risk walking to far off hooks to soread out the deadzone because the survivor might have DS and then you're denied a hook.
  • @The_Crusader said:

Yes, 4 seconds. DS only ever buys you 4 seconds /sarcasm.

I've seen people get looped for an extra few gens after using DS. It all depends on how good the player is and where DS is used. If can buy then time to make it to the next set of loops.

The killer could break chase but at that poijt they've wasted so much time already and got absolutely no pressure out of it since no hook.
