  • You would probably almost always face Hillbillys, Hags, Nurses, and Plagues, since they have teachable perks that actually synergize with their power. Killers like Wraith and Clown would become basically unplayable. Everyone would use NOED.

    All heck would break loose.

But it might actually be a good thing in the long run. Get the devs to stop using perks as band-aids for weird, poorly designed, or unfun mechanics and get people to stop relying on them so much.

Well, that or most people would rage quit and the game would die because tons of progression is suddenly yanked away from most of the playerbase and a great deal of fun and entertaining builds vanish.

Yeah, I've been a Freddy fan for what... 35 years now? Unless they add Jack Torrance to the game, Freddy will likely remain my go-to guy.

Though, I do use Doc and some BBQ for all my gleeful farming needs.

Is it weird I find myself attracted to Huntress, though? She is fun to play, but her soothing humming and the way she cocks her head to one side... it's adorable. Right up until she buries a hatchet in my head, of course.

I don't think you are, but I'm in no real position to judge; I don't really know if I find anything attractive.

As long at least part of the reason that you like Huntress is that she's a one-woman-army badass, I don't care. :D

  • Big surprise here. Huntress portrait picked Huntress.

I just have fun playing as Huntress; chucking Hatchets, listening to Bayu Bayushki, and just her overall whole deal. It's fun for me; even if I get a 0k or get told to [BAD WORD].

Tired of the bitching? Go to the lore section. Much more calmer and composed discussions. Not ridiculous screeching at each other.

    Or Off-Topic.

    Or Polls.

  • As the others have said, Huntress is someone used to killing things that fight back. Like, really, REALLY dangerous things that fight back.

She most likely hums the lullaby because these trials are less a focused hunt and more of an idle jog with the occasional violence.

    -

That said, it is worth noting that Beast of Prey's description indicates she can literally force the Entity to stop looking through her eyes (hence the Red Stain removal in old versions and now Undetectable status in new versions) and the Entity doesn't seem to take much issue with it.

Theoretically it might be possible that she, or other similarly strong willed Killers, would low-key try to help Survivors without the Entity's knowledge, but that doesn't seem very likely to me that Huntress specifically would do that.

This is the person that would go on murder rampages and slaughter entire towns, presumably just for sport or because she could. She's killed so many people that people thought she was some kind of inhuman monster. That doesn't indicate the kind of empathy one would expect from someone risking their personal safety to give the other side an advantage.

    -

Still, as far as lore, Huntress is old enough that her lore doesn't set in stone much about her thought processes.

It could be possible she's rebelling against the Entity in a very subtle way? So she doesn't end up like Trapper, but also so that she's not just some mindless toy for the Spider God? Not helping Survivors to help the Survivors, but as a way to silently give the finger to the Entity and quietly keep up her self-esteem? It is worth noting that Benedict's character quote for her suggests she's more human and that she has more of a purpose or goal than the other Killers.

    -

    TL;DR

I personally don't think Huntress is trying to help the Survivors, but there's as much canon material to support the theory as there is to discount it.

  • Your probably one of those edgy kids always thinking that they can get away with such simple things

I mean, I did click the post even though you told me not to. And your only retaliation was a gif of a song I unironically like.

I'm pretty sure I did get away with it. So there, ha!

With all due respect to pc gamers, I think this is why I prefer this on my Xbox. They can’t hack that, can they? Am I just REALLY out of the loop?

It is possible to hack consoles, but it's a lot more time consuming and costly than hacking a game on PC.

Don't worry though, the Dedicated Servers have crossplay capability, so hackers on PC can play with you over them. You can tell they're from PC because they'll have a little globe icon by their username.

  • I just hope that they do not pick up on mine as my heart races for every thump I can hear even clearer.

I feel like this is a key phrase.

Perhaps, while Benedict can hear the Killers' heartbeats, most Survivors just hear their own as the Killer approaches?

Either that or the Heartbeat is an either or kind of thing. Sometimes it belongs to a Killer, other times to a Survivor.

  • Eh. I'd prefer she stay as is.

Weapons Belt would be better as a Clown add-on than a Huntress add-on (5 seconds can be a long time), change my mind.

Also that Iridescent Head would promote slugging (oh joy) and basically guarantee a 4k (just use it with Iron Maiden).

A cosmetic banner of them dancing does not mean they're in a canon romantic relationship lmao

    Does semi-canon sound better then?

The description of both outfits make it clear that they're in a romantic relationship.

While I'll admit that outfit descriptions are of dubious canonicity, it's at the very least a ship sponsored by the devs, so I think about it more than most fan ships.

  • Besides the canon relationships like Julie n Frank or Sally x Phillip I don't really think about romantic ships for the characters.

I platonically ship Susie and Hag though; I think they'd make good friends.

  • Oni is a lot of fun and he's one of the few non-licensed Killers I have P3'd, but he's not as fun as Huntress for me.

But since you asked I'll make an effort to play him more.

I feel Legion is underestimated. They do their job and they do it well. Being able to nearly guarantee an injure and to be able to chain it to nearby survivors is stronger than people give credit. Sure, they’re not the strongest, but I think they’re good right where they are at.

    Legion is a noobstomper.

They work well against Survivors that aren't good at looping and rely on having 2 health states and they work well against Survivors that don't know to just split up and work on separate, far apart generators.

As long as Survivors just stay split up, don't heal, and focus on gens smartly (i.e. don't 3 gen themselves) Legion's entire power becomes "lemme DS myself so I can apply BT to one person".

It's true enough that not all Survivors play that way, but that doesn't make Legion's power reliably good or fun.

And if it isn't either of those things why shouldn't they be reworked?

  • I honestly don't know.

Probably, but I wouldn't hold my breath or expect them not to come with punitive nerfs.

  • Just sacrifices, Moris don't count.

    It is just 25.

  • Padded Jaws.

Nothing beats getting almost half max Deviousness by trapping and grabbing one person. Also the traps not injuring the Survivors can actually help if I really want STBFL stacks quick.

Finally, combo'ing this add-on with Bloody Coil results in the most fun and silly Trapper add-on combo ever.

  • I don't think this is a big deal.

Laugh at how sweaty they got for the 1 Escape and move on. You can get your pip/4k another game if you really want it and this one instance of doesn't make DC penalties pointless.

That said, I also don't see any harm with adding a short timer between a DC and Hatch opening to prevent situations like this.

  • Kindred and We're Gonna Live Forever for Survivors.

    BBQ and Chili for Killers.

It'll never happen of course, but IMO it should.

I’m glad they removed the ability for people to hold the game hostage. Remember those clips of killers bodyblocking multiple people in the basement until they disconnected? Or the last survivor creeping around for 30 minutes going locker to locker until the killer disconnected out of boredom? So glad this has gone.

Eugh, I do remember those days.

I barely played Survivor, but I still love and cherish Whispers for all the times it helped me force out those P3 Claudettes.

  • I'm glad they removed Insta-gen completion BNPs.

Nothing like having 4 gens done in literally 10 seconds.

  • She's played less, but that doesn't make her any less nasty in the right hands.

Heck, Omega Blink is still in the game. Sure they nerfed the boost it used to give to Blink charge speed, but that's not a huge deal when you can still traverse about a quarter of the map in an instant.

Even with her bugs, massive blink dead zones on newer maps, and punitive post-Blink cooldown she's still the strongest Killer.

  • You're saying that like it's a bad thing.

  • I think this and the SWF changes are to blame.

Current rank reset just reinforces the bloat that already occurs at Red Ranks; where it gets filled by people who just play the game a lot and don't necessarily 'belong' there.

The SWF changes also now make them search for a match as their highest ranked party member. An okay balance change, but it means that a SWF of ranks 2, 5,7, and 8 are now competing with the Red Rank Survivors for Red Rank Killers.

There are just too many Red Rank Survivors matchmaking slots and not enough Red Rank Killer matchmaking slots, so the game sticks people with what it can find.

This is also why low Rank Killers often face higher Rank Survivors.

As a killer, your job is to KILL the survivors, that's the whole purpose of the killer side, but of course some survivors don't see it exactly that way. In no way I'm trying to make fun of them tho, so I think I should short some things out.

The killer can do anything that isn't bannable to win the game. That means they can camp, tunnel, camp a generator (don't ask me, I got flamed for doing that), play any killer and use any perk that they like, there shouldn't be anyone to hold em back. Yes of course its a d*** move to camp or tunnel, but, since they are the killer, they can do it. You don't make up the rules, both as a survivor and as a killer.

I'm struggling to understand why I shouldn't use killers like the spirit and "I should go play a normal killer". Excuse me but, you didn't actually pay for my account did you? Since this is my account I can use whatever I want.

If someone flames you in post game chat, send them this and hopefully they will realize how stupid they really are xd

Cya in the fog, fellow killers and survivors of the fog.

I agree with the letter of this, but not the spirit.

People shouldn't be harassed for playing a game a certain way, but at the same time DBD is a game. Not a job.

As Killer you can play how you want, but if you're going to just stare at a Survivor on a hook or purposefully try to annoy others I think maybe you should take a break and do something else.

It's not meant to be viewed as "Boring" no duh it's going to be "Boring" by today's standards.

It's a Classic, imagine watching it as a kid not as an adult in 2020, or 2019.

No, it was boring to me because about a 3rd of the movie didn't really seem to have a purpose or amount to anything and additionally made our protagonist look like a bumbling loser.

Like, the movie had it's share of good bits, but that doesn't make it enjoyable.

The age of a movie doesn't make it intrinsically boring; I just rewatched Nosferatu (1922) and had a pretty good time. People find things boring based on their personal tastes.

  • Insidious.

I'd change my Steam username to Overconfidence and use a controller so I can slowly chase after Survivors.

  • Underpowered probably.

Unless their Terror Radius is close to 0 Survivors could just pre-throw pallets to keep them at bay.

With 110% and no traversal power they'd just get genrushed since Survivors can just split up and hold M1 until they hear Terror Radius.

If this Killer is a Stealth Killer tho, they might stomp solo queues by surprising people without Spine Chill/aura reading perks, but SWFs would just keep an eye and ear out and turn them into a slower trapless Trapper.

In any case, this Killer would have to have a VERY interesting personality for anyone to play them. All they'll really be doing gameplay-wise is holding WASD and pressing spacebar or M1 every once in a while.

  • I play all the Killers, but Huntress is hands down my favorite.

Like you, I just enjoy playing as her the most.

  • Eh, I think he'd look better dressed as a court jester.

But if it means I can get a Survivor that at least looks like a knight I'll take it.

  • The only reason is a meta one; the devs have said they want Survivors to be 'relatable' to players and, to them, that means all Survivors have to be from the modern era.

So no cowboys, no cavemen, no androids, no wizards, no futuristic space explorers, no vikings, and, worst of all, no knights.

Because, y'know I'm sure tons of people 'relate' to Shirtless David, P3 Claudette, and Bunny Min; which is obviously the main reason why people play them.

I thought Adept was an achievement for 4 killing a team with all three of the killers unique perks. Is there more of a requirement then that?

Yes, ever since Plague was introduced (IIRC) Adept achievements now require you to get a double pip.

At Red Ranks as Killer this is extremely difficult; even if you 4k you'll probably not stop the Survivors from powering up most of the generators. And going for a 4k double pip with certain Killers while only using their teachables can be a bit challenging, especially given using certain Killers' powers actually hurt their Emblem scores *cough* Plague, Trapper, Hillbilly, Leatherface *cough*

Yea, Killer adepts are much better at lower Ranks, were double pipping is easier.

  • Wait; I thought the best things in DBD life were hot water, good dentistry, and 999 Ebony Moris.

  • Screw you teammates that taunt the Killer. If I could shove you away from the Exit and into the Killer's arms I would.

  • Why send hatemail when you can send positive messages and maybe make a new friend?

  • I don't see the bodybuilder vs. just fit difference you mentioned in the OP.

It looks like she just has big thighs. They have a little tone to them, but so does the rest of her. It's not like they belong to someone else.

As for the skin color adifference I think that's just the fog. In the side view her thigh looks about the same shade as her forearm.

I'm not saying that cosmetic look amazing or anything, but I don't think it's unrealistic.

  • I get frustrated when I get Survivors that don't do gens or when Dedicated Servers screw around, but that's just part of the game.

I only really get mad if people trash talk me with certain insults; most I don't care about or can laugh off, it's just a few that boil my blood. I don't give them the satisfaction of knowing they upset me though.

But yeah, the game itself I'm mostly fine with. If someone gets mad at a game you should just stop playing.

    Games should be fun.

  • Remember the first Rift, where both of the final Rift rewards were unique charms usable by both Survivors and Killers so that no matter which side you mained or character you played you ostensibly got a reward?

    I remember.

    Black

It's mentioned in her lore that she dyed her hair black.

"She started rebelling when she was 16, she dyed her hair black and cut it in a way she liked it."

She's probably blonde naturally. She's Swedish, with her Howdy Cat outfit (an outfit that seems to be themed around nostalgia) her hair is blonde, and (as Fibijean mentioned above) her eyebrows are blonde.

I've seen quite a few posts recently about camping and I'm here to say that camping doesn't exist, at least not the way everyone describes it. Camping (with very few exceptions) is simply a deadlock between killer's and survivors that both sides love to complain about and gave a name. I'm not saying it's not an issue, but it's a lot more than "Killer's camp because they're bad" like everyone tries to claim

Camping, as it is today, is usually described as a killer hanging around a hook with a survivor on it to deny saves, which has a small truth to it, but the main reason killers camp isn't because they're afraid of losing their catch, they're capitalizing on the fact that some players (and most SWFs) will immediately swarm the hook to save their fellow survivor. It became a thing of "Why should I leave and go find survivors if they'll all come to me?" Rushing a hook gives the killer hits, information, and a chase. If you want a killer not to camp, avoid BMing (the one true case of camping with the killer doing it solely to not let you escape) and let the survivor hang for a bit. Punish the killer by doing gens and objectives. They have 60 seconds, the killer will realize quickly they're losing precious time and start immediately moving after hooking. A full organized squad (with a player hooked) can do 180s of gen time all up if they work on different gens before a hook state is lost, 150 if one leaves around 30s to go for unhook. That's almost 2 full gens completed in a single hook state.Assuming every survivor takes 10 seconds to start a gen after hooking, that's still a gen and a half of progress. That's also ignoring toolboxes.

Ultimately, the one group that complains about camping (survivors, for obvious reasons why) are the one's at fault for camping. If they used hook time more effectively to punish camping, stopped rushing (and abusing BT), and the like, killer's would learn camping is not worth it anymore. Of course, this would require a large part of the survivor base to stop, which will most likely never happen, and take time for killers to learn.

TL;DR: Dev's won't punish camping because the survivors already can, they're just too lazy to and expect it to be automatic. They than proceed to cause camping and then blame killers for doing it despite not being willing to stop causing it.

TL;DR TL;DR: Survivors: I shot myself in the foot, but it's the person who made the gun's fault. Now watch me do it again.

Titling this post "Camping isn't real" is misleading. You even admit that camping is real in the first sentence of your post. "Camping is caused by Survivors" or "Camping isn't a problem" would be much more reflective of your thoughts on the subject.

I don't know what else I can say besides that you're wrong about camping being under the control of Survivors and that you're totally neglecting to look at camping from the side of solo queue Survivors or from the side of people who don't just want to hold M1 and hit skillchecks for fun.

People will camp regardless of whether the other players dive bomb the hooked person or not. It fully exists and plenty of people just camp because they can/want to.

  • I mean, it saves at least 3 of the Survivors and can potentially save all 4.

I think counter is an apt description. Would you prefer I call it a soft counter instead?

  • @BigBrainMegMain said:

Of course it can be countered.

    THIS can be countered right?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/817/TFIVKLEIPB03.png

Explain to me how my team, 3 had Borrowed Time could have countered an Insidious FaceCamping Bubba.

Please, explain this to me. Keep in mind, Bubba can still activate Insidious while holding M2.

They do generators, one unhooks you so you can either use DS to go on a new chase or help do generators if he camps your rescuer. Three Escapes, one Kill, probably a depip for everyone involved.

If they can bait out a chainsaw rampage and unhook during the cooldown while he has a Terror Radius or you all trade hooks fast enough so that both rescuer and rescuee have DS active you might even be able to get everyone out with a safety pip or better.

Granted if you aren't on comms this becomes almost impossible to communicate, but that's how you can counter this.

  • Hawkins is only Survivor sided if you disrespect pallets and don't have Enduring.

It's annoying to me because of how opposite it is from playing Killer on any other map, but as long as you treat every pallet like it's your mom you should down Survivors near instantly.

There's also a guaranteed 3 gen on that map (granted it's not an extremely defensible one, but still, you can patrol all three gens in about 10 seconds or 12 seconds, and if you're Trapper you can make it into a 2 or even 1 gen strat).

I wouldn't say it's impossible to badly on Hawkins, or even necessarily call it Killer sided, but I wouldn't call it a Survivor sided map.

  • No, that'd be insanely strong.

Even if it had a 5 minute cooldown that's 4 pallets that can come back in the right hands.

Heck even if it could only be used once or twice all game by any of the four Survivors that's potentially a god pallet that was used just back.

I agree AMN needs some love, but this is not it.

Maybe slightly longer stun durations? Or revealing the aura of the closest dropped pallet while the perk is active?
