Kind of need more info than just 'It doesn't work'. Was the killers TR playing as you unhooked?
Also, if this was a Killer with Undetectable you might have heard music even though they had no actual Terror Radius.

Welcome to the human race.
It has it's share of truly kind and decent people, but it also has many jerks. Then there's also the vast amount of people who can be either extreme at different times.
Maybe one of the people who told you to die just had the worst day of their life so they decided to vent at you.
Glad you reported them in any case, most people will only act like douchebags when they can't be held accountable for their douchebaggery.

I don't see a problem with keeping the old hair as an alternate cosmetic, but it might depend on how strict Valve is with their license.
A hair update could be okay because it improves the character's appearance/makes them more recognizable. An additional cosmetic piece might be a whole different matter.
If you don't care, why take the time to click on this post and make that your very first comment?
-
When I play Ghostface, I try Stalking them into Exposed. One hit downs are much better than two hit downs, and as long as you lean you can Expose them in a couple seconds.
Being Undetectable is just a huge bonus.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. And I don’t believe you play killer on anything above green ranks.
I would rather everyone on different gens spending an entire 80 seconds so I can use pop and not have gen after gen pop if I guess wrong as to which one they are on.
Just think about what you're saying for a second.
If Survivors co-operate on Generators you can revert all their progress with Pop. - All progress is reverted.
If multiple gens are being done you can only apply Pop to one while the other two continue to be worked on. - 1/3 of their progress is reverted.
How is reverting all progress better than reverting one third of all progress?
-
I don't know; it depends on when you're hitting the Killer/getting hit with the pallet.
If you get hit with the pallet while picking up the Survivor - during the pick up animation while you can't move - it should just push the Killer out of the way and leave the Survivor in the Killer's grasp.
If you get hit with the pallet while carrying the Survivor - after the animation has completely finished and you can move - it should stun the Killer and free the Survivor.
-
I mean Deep Wounds wasn't changed until AFTER people brought attention to Nemesis + Legion on the PTB. This being after it was changed initially to prevent the Moonwalking exploit.
AND Legion's Knife add-ons broke about two or three times so that they applied cumulative decreases to Mending speed and each time it was caught by players before BHVR.
So no.
No, BHVR never learns.

So... what? The windup and the missed Shred penalty matter very little when the whole point of your complaint is baiting the shot following it with a normal M1 instead of actually commiting.
No, that's exactly the point.
Deathslinger doesn't have a lengthy windup or unflowering animation. He just lifts up his gun in literally less than a second.
Any of the times he does this he can fire it just as easily as he can set the gun back down and continue as normal with a minimal penalty to his movement.
Huntress and Demodoggy can't do that.

DBD did have a Quickplay feature, but it was removed because very few people ever used it (and IIRC it's existence led to some problems).
While they could probably fix it up and add it back in, I just don't think there's much incentive for them to.
Realistically their time is probably better spent elsewhere.

The only add-on that needs nerfed is Carburetor Tuning Guide. It's amazing for every build and does everything really well, that's just a bit too crazy IMO.
The noise reduction add-ons could use a buff/rework too.
Aside from that and the weird inconsistencies he occasionally has with chainsaw hits he's perfect. Most balanced 2nd to Huntress.

Imagine thinking he has no counterplay when he can't deal with MANY pallets.
You know that you can just harpoon the Survivor and pull them around to you if you get LOS from either the short or long side of the loop right?
I mean pallets stop him from instantly winning a chase (since if you don't throw the pallet he can just harpoon you through it and hit you immediately), but they don't hard counter him. All he needs is to play the pallet and get LOS for literally half a second to win.
Heck, plenty of pallets have low wall loops too; which is a free hit for him as long as he has the quickscope down since his chain will be over the loop and he can pull the Survivor around it.
Windows don't help either since he can just harpoon you through them, pull you to the window, and hit you.
He has no counterplay in chase besides hoping the person playing him messes up.
Once people git gud at him it'll be Exploit Legion all over again.

I met a Legacy 3 Wraith on PC once a while ago. They killed the other 3 Survivors and carried me to Hatch because, "You dont tbag"
We talked for a bit; apparently they had quit two years ago but decided to see if the game's community had changed any. I was the only Survivor they met that didn't tbag or call them names.
It happened a while ago, but it still comes to mind. I wonder how many Legacy players just stopped playing.

I downed all Survivors in the first 2 minutes once as Ghostface with Mad Grit and Agitation, but that doesn't make him or those perks overpowered.
There's no argument from me that Hillbillies or Huntresses can absolutely wreck face, I just think that doesn't make them overpowered since the Survivors were allowing them to wreck face through inaction\mistakes.
I hope you get better teammates in future games and meet less Infectious Fright Hillbillies.

@JCZ said:
also infectious fright and other perks and its not the perks being overpowered its the perks combined with billys power that makes him overpowered. no other killer has better synergy than billy with those perks
He's loopable though. BBQ and Infectious just reveal the Survivor; if they're away from a loop that's their fault.
I will agree he makes better use of those perks than other Killers, but not enough that he can unfairly down all Survivors in the first 3 minutes.
-
@JCZ said:
billy and huntress are the only killers able to get everyone down in the first 3 minutes with right perks
No perks help with that.
That's the Survivors being bad and the Huntress/Hillbilly being both good and sweaty.

I never encountered hackers until Dedicated Servers.
And lag was never an issue for me until Dedicated Servers.
If my ping was bad I just left the lobby or accepted I'd see some crazy nonsense, now it seems like it's just a roll of the dice regardless of my ping (I've teleported across the map as Myers once and terrified a Quentin searching a chest - 62 ms).
Dedicated Servers have only been a bad thing in my experience.
From my understanding they don't prevent lag switching, they just make it possible for both Killers and Survivors to lagswitch now.

They've ignored our questions for 2 days, then suddenly bring up a quiz about the regular single player beta. Plus I've heard its been removed from PS and Steam.
They don't give a damn because Xbox is their preferred platform anyway, and seeing as COVID-19 is such a big deal, they cant go in the office and work as efficiently. The game comes out in less than a week.
Hell they might as well flip PS4 and PC the bird and say "lol at least Xbox gets to try it out early."
Well that sucks.
I can understand if pressing issues or the upcoming release make fixing the beta impossible or not worth while, but they could at least say so. It sounds like they're just trying to sweep it under the rug and pretend nothing happened.

Demogorgon is genderless but ok.
Secondly, nobody watches horror movies for the plot, unless it is centered around said plot, (heres looking at the clusterf*** the last Saw movies were).
Candyman had just as many plotholes as Halloween and Friday the 13th, but Candyman himself is iconic for a reason.
However, if hes another deep wounds killer, I will uninstall, and commit seppuku with a breadstick
Demogorgons lay eggs in some of their victims (at least, the only adult Demogorgon we've seen) that makes it female if you squint hard enough. /s
Hey, I watch horror movies for the plot and the characters! Which is exactly why I quit Saw after the 2nd film. Also there's a difference between the plot involving supernatural elements, being bizarre, or confusing, and being frustrating.
The whole subplot where Helen is framed just didn't make sense. The way it was presented made it confusing and much less believable than it could have been, there was no reason for Candyman to do it (he gets his power from making people fear him, not some unrelated grad student, and he needs her outside of the mental hospital to achieve his goals anyway), and it didn't add anything to the narrative. It was basically just a frustrating and confusing side track that dominates a third of the film. Candyman does do some cool things, but that particular part of the film just ruined it for me personally.
I don't know about gutting myself with a breadstick, but I'll definitely uninstall too if he joins as another member of the Deep Wound Gang.

I'd like that as a perk, ngl. FPP survivor would be fun.
Honestly, more 'challenge' perks like No Mither in general would be fun. And first person would be horrifying against Michael, Wraith, or Ghostface.

Ash’s three perks are by far the most useless in game, the devs should really consider looking into his perks. Unless you like him as a character then yeah, you will most likely buy him.

any good perk>mettle of man
I literally forgot ash even existed in the game until I saw 2 in a match, so please devs look into his perks :)
Only reason to buy him is if you want to hear "LOOK WHO'S SHITTIN' IN THE TALL GRASS", "HUH WHAT'S THIS PLACE?", or "UGH, WHAT NOW?" while you play lobby simulator.

The main character in the new movie is a dude. So there's your male survivor.
So you didn't like the original movie. Okay I guess? Are you working at Behaviour and have a veto on these decisions? No of course not. You may not like Candyman but many others do. Their support overrides your opposition.
Candyman, a ghost with a hook as an arm, doesn't fit in DBD but the three ghosts we already have (Spirit, Nurse, Freddy) fit? What about the Oni, an ogre? Or the Demogorgan, which isn't even a human? They all fit but not Candyman? C'mon now.
I get it you don't like Candyman, but the devs and many players would like to see him in. So he has a chance.
I never said I had some kind of veto power over BHVR. PapiQuentin asked a question, I answered "I hope not", and then I elaborated why I felt that way.
Until BHVR leaks their dev build accidentally/releases a teaser we won't know. So the only thing to be said to OP's question is either "Maybe", "I hope so", or "I hope not".
Also the comparison between Candyman and Spirit is a false equivalency. I don't object to Candyman because he's a ghost/urban legend but because I don't see how his character and his abilities would fit in the game.
In the first film at least, he mostly just suddenly appears, brutalizes people with his hook, and leaves.
Which is why, I ask, what would he do in DbD? Apply Deep Wounds/Injure/Down Survivors with bee swarms on a cooldown? Teleport like Spirit?
I just don't see what original and balanced power he could have based on what I know of the character.
Spirit by contrast was an original character created for the game. Of course she fits despite being a spectre of vengeance, she was designed to.
If the devs want him and most players want him, he probably has a good shot. But that doesn't mean I want to see him, and it doesn't mean he'll be fun to play as/against.

Yeah for sure. His name's Anthony McCoy, I reckon he'll be our new survivor
Hopefully we get him as the Survivor if it is a Candyman chapter.
-
I hope not, we haven't had a male Survivor since Steve or a female Killer since Plague/Demogorgon (I think Demodoggy is a good girl).
That aside, I've seen the first Candyman film. It was boring, the plot left a lot to be desired, and the best part of it, the music, got old after 20 minutes and frustrating after 40.
Also what would Candyman do? Teleport behind Survivors, improbably manage to impale them with his hook, and then blame it on Nea? Apply Deep Wounds with bees?
You have to admit, regardless of how you feel about Candyman, he wouldn't really fit into 'circle the pallet 100 times and get bonked' gameplay loop of DbD.

You just described F13 almost perfectly
I mean, I think I made a few notably different suggestions but yeah, basically.
Don't get me wrong, F13 isn't exactly a horror masterpiece, but current DbD has more in common mechanically with a team based shooter than it does a survival horror experience IMO.
If DbD wanted to shift to more of a horror experience it could stand to take a look at F13.

Calm down then.
Ah yes, the "no one knew how to do it but me, he was good I swear! You were all just bad!" argument.
There were very few Freddy mains, but they did exist, I was one of them, Otz played him a bit and the main godlike Freddy main was Hows it hanging, who really showed me his true potential.
Also I never said he was OP, just that he was good.
And Nurse's stats are skewed because if you play Nurse the first couple games you will be TERRIBLE because her learning curve is easily the steepest in the game.
Lets replace nurse here with Freddy and change a few things:
"Freddy's stats were screwed because the first couple games you played you wouldn't know how to play Freddy properly due to how much of a unique play-style he had."
See how its kinda the same?
Yep, it's the community's fault, they just couldn't see his greatness...
Well to be honest it kind of is. Now i'm not blaming anybody for thinking hes bad - I can see why you'd think that but I heavily disagree. Its the people at the time who thought their opinion was fact, and how they played one game as Freddy not knowing how to play him and got destroyed. Them constantly pulling up the "7 seconds" thing even though people have shown its not that bad and its balanced out with his pressure ruined him and convinced the devs to tweak him. You have to remember this was a while ago, where people were toxic AF. Thankfully nowadays people are actually listening to the other side of the argument.
Look if your whole thread point was "I liked old Freddy, I wish I could play him again" that's a perfectly reasonable statement and opinion, but this "old Freddy was OP you noobs just didn't know how to play him right" nonsense is just making you look crazy.
K.
I'll say it then.
Old Freddy was OP in the right hands.
He had slow down, infinite aura reading (if you weren't running M&A on Freddy you were crazy), dream transition mindgames, and no few totally insane add-ons (old Red Paint Brush was near broken (Jumpscare Freddy) and Jump Rope seemed to have an unmentioned side effect of skillcheck reduction).
And you could always guarantee the 4k by slugging the 3rd guy.
Unless you got genrushed bad or the Survivors brought a Key, or skillchecks were constantly screwing (I mean constantly, since even one or two unlucky ones could often HELP you in the long run) you over, the Survivors didn't stand a chance.
People called Old Freddy bad because nobody knew how to play him and there were quite a few game elements that seemed to exist solely to screw him over.
You gave the right person control of Freddy, and they could do better than all but the best Nurses. They'd get more points too, since people wouldn't just DC or kill themselves.
Freddy needed a rework IMO, but not to make him stronger, but less frustrating for either side, since good/lucky Freddys stomped and bad/really unlucky Freddys got stomped with no in between.
This said, I'd kill to have him back instead of New Freddy.
-
I'd support this.
Maybe the lame Block add-ons could all revert Freddy to Old Freddy too, with Black Box and the more rare Block add-ons giving him slight improvements.
I mean let's be honest, is that minute of Hemorrhage on a Healthy Survivor, or that 30 seconds of the dreaded Blindness status effect, really going to be missed?
-
It'd need a complete rework.
For Survivors:
Shift the gameplay emphasis from fast paced to more of a slowburn.
Instead of just holding M1 at gens, search the map for Objective parts to assemble them. With the assembly being near instaneous, but requiring your total focus (no looking around).
Make Survivors much slower. So traversal of the map is strategic and tense, rather than as simple as just running there.
Add a [BAD WORD] ton more ambience. We'd need ambient music, animals besides the crows, dripping water, whistling wind, creaking doors, the Léry's treatment for every map.
Killer's only have a Terror Radius while they are actively chasing someone. Make Survivors strain to hear footsteps or breathing over the sounds of the environment, so that when the door slams in the wind they jump because it could have been the Killer.
Change up hiding spots and make them less penalizing. Instead of red lockers everywhere make them unique to maps and immersive. A hiding spot shouldn't obviously be recognized as a hiding spot. And when found don't put the Survivor into an instant grab. Make the Killer throw them out so the chase can begin. And while hiding in a hiding spot the Survivor's camera is 1st person and they are able to hear the Killer's SFX at a much greater volume.
Simultaneously, make hiding in the random geometry of the map impossible. A Survivor who tries to crouch in a bush should be almost instantly detectable if the Killer is nearby.
Encourage Survivors to be sneaky with hiding spots. Not just crouch in corners.
Make items much more useful but also more costly to acquire and hard to find. Don't hold M1 at a bright yellow box for 12 seconds. Unlock a door in the basement after finding a key in the game environment and then take the item before the Killer finds you.
Give specific Survivors multiple unique things only they can do. Maybe there's overlap with the effects of these abilities, but how they are done is unique to each Survivor.
Dead Survivors become part of the environment. Instead of vanishing on a hook, their corpse hangs there. Their Moried bodies are posed in hiding spots or on props in the environment (someone's face through a monitor in Léry's, a Survivor chained to a chain on the Game, impaled on a broken bamboo shoot on Yamaoka, etc.)
For Killers:
Shift the Killer game objective from killing/pipping/emblems to 'scares' and 'brutality'.
Basically you'd be awarded for looking and acting like a slasher movie antagonist and given nothing for blundering around like a goofball, regardless of how effective either strategy is.
Instead of needing to kill/slow gens by any means possible, make Killers act their part.
For scares; Jumpscare Survivors. Creepily stare at them without them noticing. Cut them off during a chase instead of just running them down. Get seen by a Survivor but sneak away from where they saw you and surprise them elsewhere. Let a Survivor escape chase and then round a corner to down them when they let their guard down.
For brutality; be relentless and intimidating. Break pallets immediately. Be on the other side of a loop while a Survivor throws a pallet. Hit them through pallets. Smash through walls. Don't visibly just give up a chase or ignore an obvious Survivor.
Killer's would also need to be much slower too, but to balance this, given the ability to teleport between certain areas of the map on a brief cooldown. To allow every Killer mobility and to keep Survivors from ever feeling at ease without making them omnipresent nor totally unavoidable.
A Killer shouldn't always be in a chase, but they should always be a threat.
For both sides:
Give Killers a 3rd person POV and bring Survivor's cameras to an over-the-shoulder perspective. Putting the camera closer to the Survivor should make things more claustrophobic and engage the player in what is happening to them.
Remove perks/make perks weaker.
They should be optional little things that spice up game play. Not required or stronger than anything a vanilla Survivor could do.
More than 4 versus 1 and only two hook states. Have 6 or 8 Survivors, but make them more killable. Maybe have more than 1 Killer to balance this out?
Environmental Moris. With BOTH sides awarded points for when they occur.
-
Basically make it into a combo of DbD and F13 that's much more cinematic in nature. It'd need to be a totally different game to be scary for longer than a week after whatever changes are made.
-
Yes, but that doesn't mean they can or will.
Unfortunately, the stars don't always align how we want them to...
-
What exactly does aimbot without aimbot mean?
I was expecting to get called a furry, or told that I'm too tall and everyone sees me coming a mile away, or that nobody finds my unmanaged body hair attractive, or that I like kids stuff a liiiiiittle too much, or that I throw random [BAD WORD] around when I'm mad, or that I need to put on some freaking shoes, or something like that.
-
Also cute! <3
-
Old Ruin was poorly designed and bad for the game; New Ruin should stay/be changed into something totally new.
Also, I don't think gen speeds are a universal problem, I think the problem is how big the disparity is with respect to solos vs. SWF and high mobility Killers/Killers with a strong chase power vs. no mobility Killers/Killers with no chase power; I mean, the difference between playing as/against Clown or Leatherface and playing as/against Spirit or Hillbilly is like night and day. Same thing with coordinated Survivors vs. uncoordinated Survivors.
Something needs to change at that level. Messing with gen speeds will probably just make those issues worse, not better.

Funny enough, The Miner is the only character on this list that I recognize XD
If you're into 80s Slasher films, I'd recommend giving the original My Bloody Valentine a watch (I haven't seen the remake). It's no masterpiece of cinema by any means, but it was an alright movie in my opinion and the concept behind the killer was a little different.
-
Frank's Mixtape is definitely the worst add-on in the game.
It doesn't have an unnoticeable effect like
all most all of Legion's other add-onssome other add-ons. It can be used.It doesn't provide any BP boost or have a funny meme effect.
And it's not that it doesn't work, it does exactly what it should.
It's that what it does is actively against everything a player should be doing as Legion. Its continued existence is the biggest reason I believe in a Legion rework.
Eventually the devs will have to replace an add-on thats sole use is to let a Killer down someone in a little over two minutes; this assuming of course the Survivor doesn't just mend.
All that said, Scrapped Tape is pretty bad, and it's confusing as heck why it came back after being scrapped.
-
I've heard it once before, I'm pretty sure it only happens when you're in a queue/lobby for a long time.
It's definitely not new though, when I heard it was back before Oni was released.
Edit: Another similar Ash voiceline that comes to mind is "Are we gonna be here all day?" Which I've heard twice in about the same circumstances.
-
Predator - Scratchmarks last 2/3/4 seconds longer than normal. These older scratchmarks turn blue instead of fading. (Walking Survivors leave blue scratchmarks for 1/2/3 seconds?)
Fixated - The speed boost applies while Injured.
Furtive Chase - The reduced Terror Radius applies at all times, not just while in chase.
Lucky Break - The perk now lasts 40/50/60 seconds, but activates every time you are put into the Injured state (hit from Healthy, picked up after Downed, or Unhooked). It also reduces grunts of pain by 25%.
