I'm down; as long as one of her add-ons lets us Mori Survivors with Lockers, Pallets, Hooks, or the Black Lock.

  • I haven't played as him myself and I've only played like 8 games against him.

I will say every Deathslinger I've faced has had all 5 gens repaired before they win 3-4 chases though. So, while I'll keep an open mind, right now I'm kinda skeptical of him.

  • I unironically liked old Hangman's Trick.

It wasn't strong, but it was fun to be able to Sacrifice multiple Survivors on the same hook. Situationally useful too, depending on the map and the hook spawns.

The PTB version probably needed a nerf from what I heard of it, but now it's just an anti-Sabo perk that doesn't anti-Sabo. What's the point of that?

  • No, Huntress is bae

    NoHuntressbest.jpg

Contextless images of the endgame result screen don't mean anything. I can post more of these if you want, but 4ks don't prove anything as far a Killer's strength or lack thereof are concerned.

For example, it's fully possible to kill Survivors as add-onless, perkless Clown, but that doesn't mean his base power is good or strong.

    Perkless, Add-Onless Clown.jpg

It could mean that. But it could just as easily mean the Survivors in question made mistakes, had bad/useless teammates, or were screwed over by dedicated servers/RNG, and that said Clown was able to capitalize off those things.

4ks are not a way to gauge a Killer's strength. They are simply the outcome of a given match.

  • They're pretty different.

It's sad that most of the time Huntress will be a flat out better choice, but there are some situations where Deathslinger can shine.

I just wish he had more going for him than his music being bugged/too quiet, being able to use the Exposed effect, and him being able to counter specific loops by quickscoping before the Survivor can react. It just doesn't feel very... worthwhile(?) to me.

Like, I don't really get why I'd buy him or want to go against him outside of "OMG HE HAS A GUN!" or "OMG HE IS A COWBOY!" Oni is a poor man's Hillbilly, but at least he has some inspired and pretty interesting power design as well as being fun as heck to play as and go against.

Maybe I'll get it eventually, but for Deathslinger I just don't see the appeal.

  • Actually, the vulture's name is Carrie N.

I haven't noticed her being very noisy, but I can agree to the devs making her quieter if it's bothering people. While they're at it, maybe they could get Kazan to shut up? 'Cuz "RAAAARGH!!!" FWOOSH is annoying to hear every 15 seconds.

  • Release Spirit and Legion were worse.

Release Spirit's power took a lot longer to recharge and her phasing emission sound was a lot louder and directional.

If a Survivor had Iron Will and Urban Evasion they'd know exactly where she was while she could only guess where they were. Then after this blind guess on her part she'd have to wait, I believe, 20 seconds before guessing again.

Given she still had 110% movement speed, it really sucked.

Release Legion had no power outside of exploits. Otherwise they were 110% M1 Killers. It was awful.

It's not even like they were OP with exploits, they were just SUPER annoying to face because there was literally nothing you could do. It was still possible (easy in fact given their slow movement speed) to just split up and genrush them.

Legion takes the cake as worst Killer ever added at release simply because they literally broke the game in addition to being unbearable to face and difficult to play.

I love Legion's lore and aesthetic, but they came very close to killing the game.

  • @TAG said:

Now whenever a hook breaks, instead of being broken for 10/20/30 seconds, it will be broken for 2/4/6 meters. /s

    I'm dying.

  • I just love pineapple.

Pineapple only topping pizzas are probably my favorite.

(Also, pineapple smoothies are great, you can @ me on that).

  • Hope they're bad and focus on killing Key dude first (you don't need to tunnel, just make sure they're the first one dead).

Most Key people bring Weaved Rings, so once you kill Key dude you should be okay to try for a 3 gen.

If not then hope you can smack the Key with Franklin's enough that it'll die.

I hope he can walk into the Autohaven Wreckers basement lul

New Killer confirmed stronger than Hillbilly?!?!? /s

I think he needs to have his reload speed or his reload movement speed faster by default, get buffs to his URs, and have a slightly longer range with his harpoon.

Give him that, let him sit for a couple weeks, and then make decisions from there.

  • They're probably just doing it because they've gotten dodged a lot or run into a lot of people using Franklin's/a Mori.

I jokingly call them 'tahhhhxic', laugh at it, and move on.

I reached rank 1 as Bubba last night. now i want to depip as fast as possible so i don't have to play sweaty to complete the upcoming tome. What are some stupid unviable builds that are hilarious? any killer setups beyond the obvious?

Legion with Enduring, Brutal Strength, Spirit Fury, and Distressing. You can only attack Survivors through Feral Frenzy; and cannot ever M1, Grab, or hook a Survivor. The goal is to get the longest chain of Frenzy hits.

It's fun to watch Survivors react in different ways. Plus you get to chase after and stab everyone for tons of Hunter, Brutality, and Deviousness points.

Not hooking is important, since you'll need to keep your Devout score at zero to go for a depip.

Also, while I can't make you do anything, I'd like to ask that if you depip you take it easy on the lower Ranked Survivors.

Get your challenges fine, but in more of a 'catch-and-release' way, and less of a 'curbstomp-the-less-experienced' way please?

  • @Chewy102

Played 5 games today, ALL of them at least 2 toolboxes with a key in half of those games. Green/purple rank Survivors are making an honest attempt at being tryhard today.

This is exactly how most of my Red Rank games are going. Either the Survivors mess up and I take advantage to win, or I don't take advantage/I mess up and lose. Either way the game's outcome is decided in about a minute or two thanks to the fast Toolboxes and the Key guy.

The Survivors themselves are pretty nice folks most of the time (a lot of people who hate Wraith and Legion but otherwise okay); it's just how the game goes.

I blame the up coming toolbox change personally, but who knows.

  • @YaiPa said:

wraith is probably searching in lockers how to fix the lightburn bug, since apparently devs forgot about it.

Ten to one it's less of a priority than the sound bugs. :(

  • Since Wraith is obviously DbD's best waifu, should we all start calling him The Wraifu?

  • At least for me these past 20 games have all had Keys, Decisive Strike, Dead Hard, and Borrowed Time (all the Rank 1s I've faced all use these three perks). I got 1 Yui with Head On, Dance With Me, and Lithe, and honestly I'll take that because that's more fun than the same [BAD WORD] over and over again.

Why should people put themselves at a disadvantage? If you can do really well with the same 3 Killers/perks, while others are a gamble, why should you stop using the reliable ones?

I'm not trying to mock this issue; but it's very much an intentional balance choice to let Killers and perks have wildly varying strengths and power levels, which of course means you're going to see more of the strong and less of the weak.

  • Nea; I like her dress sense and her lore.

Yui and Nancy are cool too (Yui's outfits are pretty meh IMO, but she's enough of a clever and capable badass in her lore that I can look past it, and Nancy is Nancy so she's cool), but Nea is best.

  • Yes, but my favorite pizza topping is pineapple and most of the pizzas I eat are veggie pizzas, so I don't know how much my vote that you're not crazy means.

Is that why they changed it? That actually would explain a lot.

Maybe, but as far as I know Prestiging has never actually provided a noticeable bonus.

Whether it's intentionally almost unnoticeable or some kind of bug is something only BHVR can tell you.

  • @Dehitay said:

Or they could just do what they said it was supposed to do and increase the rarity of items in bloodwebs.

See the problem with that is some Killers, like Pig, have better Common and Uncommon add-ons than they do Very-Rares or Ultra-Rares. And others like Michael, Nurse, Plague, Ghostface, Wraith, Oni, or Demogorgon have Common and Uncommon add-ons that have unique effects.

If Prestiging made filled your Bloodwebs with more Rare and above items instead of Uncommon and Common you'd essentially be punished for Prestiging those characters by being denied good add-ons or add-ons needed for specific builds.

And if you just make the Bloodweb bigger so more of everything spawns to get around that, it'll take a lot longer to level up Prestiged characters and get good/all perks on them; once again making it more difficult to get what you might want on a character you like.

  • I think Prestiging should give you a slight bloodpoint discount on all items (500 less BP per Prestige?) in that character's bloodweb in addition to the bloody cosmetics.

It makes the grind back up to 50 easier and means that if you spend a lot of time on that character you'll save a lot of bloodpoints over time, but if you don't you're not going to lose anything by not Prestiging.

As for showing Prestige levels post-game I don't see any reason why not. Rank is going to become a meaningless bragging rights symbol too when the MMR change happens; why not throw Prestige onto the post-game screen too?

  • It's been a while since I've seen a Laurie, Quentin, or Adam.

As Killer I run into quite a few Tapps and Jeffs, but I never meet them as Survivor.

  • Doesn't this map have the lowest number of pallet spawns? Or used to? I remember hearing something to that effect.

Regardless, while you might get stealth genrushed on this map because of how far apart the gens are, that can happen on any map. Loops can be easily chainable, depending on the map RNG, but that's inconsistent and you can just end the chase and go after another Survivor. Furthermore, none of the loops are this map are unmindgameable like those on Thompson House.

What makes this map Killer sided (IMO) is that most of the time breaking a single pallet turns a good 20 or 32 meter area into a deadzone. On Killers like Freddy, Michael, Spirit, Bubba, or Hillbilly this makes a huge difference, and even M1 Killers can snowball very fast because of how open and empty the map is.

If Survivors win on this map, it's because they used Stealth well in some capacity or the Killer is bad at chases (either landing hits or knowing when to leave).

  • How could the one woman army who raised herself alone in an inhospitable wilderness and now yeets death at people not be best girl?

  • I read that more as a "life flashing before your eyes" kind of thing. With the vision of fog and hooks being his traversal into the Entity's realm after he died.

That said, it's entirely possible the Entity made him see them.

  • @Raptorrotas said:

Cant believe how many people are against an animation change, which might even help survivors identify Brual Strenghts usage.

I think most of them just misunderstood what OP was trying to say.

I can't think why anyone would be against the game having more unique animations and interactions.

  • Am I the only one sick of this lazy ass excuse for a killer? 75% if not more of the Wraiths I encounter do the same thing: hook and walk 15 feet away and wait for the rescue attempt. You're not playing a game, you're being an entitled bully with zero skill required

lazy ass excuse for a killer

    Untitled Image

    I'm sorry, I had to.

Also, why is this in Polls?

In any case, I hope you face less camping Wraiths in the future. It's a pretty boring strategy to go against, and frustrating when you don't have DS or have teammates that are allergic to generators.

  • I agree wholeheartedly with this.

Specific and difficult Escapes like "unlock the Hatch with a Key" I could see as not counting, but when the Challenge is just to do so-and-such and Escape as Jane or David or earn a "Gold Unbroken emblem or better" and you have an Iridescent/Gold Unbroken as well as the 5000 Survival points because the Killer DC'ed, I think it should count.

  • Just buffing or nerfing Legion isn't going to put them in a good state.

Their power lets them bypass both stealth and chase mechanics. Either it's like it is now, where it comes with arbitrary penalties that make using it excessively punitive, or it's overpowered and frustrating to face.

A few simple tweaks to their add-ons and base kit power could make them a lot more fun to use, but they need a new power if they're going to be in a healthy state for both sides.

Clown, Leatherface, and Pig might be fine with some basekit tweaks and add-on changes; but Legion needs to be redone from the ground up.

I wanted to play a Inner streanght build with that, that would make alot of sense honestly.

I stand by what I said. While Inner Strength would synegize with Red Herring you could just fail a skillcheck or throw a pebble before you heal in a locker. Or not give the Killer any loud noise notifications at all and heal quietly.

I heard Puppers say he'll use it specifically to help with Head Ons, but, IMO, even then it's the same as failing a skillcheck and then hiding in a locker in the hope that the Killer will stop what they're doing and investigate the noise so you can bonk them.

Instead of using a perk that creates a loud noise at a gen, just don't press Spacebar and you'll accomplish as much as the perk would, but without using a perk slot or needing to wait for a minute long cooldown.

  • His power is so boring.

He throws bottles at a loop. You either drop the pallet early, take a hit, or run to another loop.

And that's literally the entirety of facing (or using) Clown's power.

What purpose would this serve with medkits and botany existing

Or Nurse's Calling, which will tell you where the Healing Survivor is and will actually help you stop them from healing instead of just making it take longer.

    I have no clue.

  • Yea; the old one was a bit loud too, but it gave you fair warning before reaching that bit. This one just instantly blares.

It's also the trailer for a DLC that came out almost three months ago. It's time to move on DBD.

  • It reduces Healing speed by 50% while you're in the Killer's Terror Radius.

  • This is kind of an odd line up; if I was free to choose anyone it'd be Clown.

He's the only Killer in the game that's both incredibly unfun to play as and incredibly unfun to play against. I'd kinda miss Bamboozle but it'd be fun to see people freak out about PGTW vanishing shortly after the Ruin nerf. As for Coulrophobia, I don't think anyone would even notice it was gone outside of, "oh hey, that third Clown perk is gone now too."

From this line up though, I choose Claudette. It'd be nice to get rid of Toxic Claudettes, immersed Claudettes, and people who Self Care in a corner with Sloppy Butcher at 5 gens against Legion all in one fell swoop. Although, I would probably start to miss being annoyed by them after a while.

  • I agree that people shouldn't get mad at someone else for simply using tools in the game to play the game, but I think we can all agree that Keys are much stronger than an avoidable, visible, one time use perk that prevents Escape through a Gate for 60 seconds.

Just like Moris are stronger than Adrenaline or Decisive Strike.

You shouldn't get mad at the people using strong things; just accept that, at least for now, strong things are in the game and that people can use them to their advantage.

  • @JawsIsTheNextKiller said:

Why would anyone pick Wraith! What is wrong with you people!

Wraith is best boi, you filthy heretic! /s

  • I think the perk needs to be completely redesigned.

Besides being perfect for trolling teammates there's no reason to have a perk that does exactly what missing a skillcheck does.

Yeah, yeah you could go into a locker on the other side of the map and trigger it, but now you're in a locker on the other side of the map doing [BAD WORD] all just so you can make a loud noise that the Killer may or may not investigate.

I really don't understand when this perk would be more useful than Diversion.

For a second I thought this bug was back.

    Untitled Image Untitled Image
  • @ZoneDymo said:

I really dont know how often I have to tell you all this.... the difference is that the Deathslinger reels you in and applies M1, that makes him viable for so many more perks then the huntress.

That also makes him a lot weaker.

Unless the Survivor is within 18 meters he's not going to damage them. He also has to go through an M1 hit cool down animation even when using his power.

His sole benefit is that his Terror Radius is incredibly quiet.

If it were like a default TR Huntress would have him beat there too; since her's is 20 meters instead of 24 and her lullaby is now non-directional.

He's not bad by any means; but at his core he's a Huntress with extra steps.

  • Huntress is best easily.

She's cool, strong, fun to play, and unique. Plus listening to the 'Bayu Bayushki' hum is simultaneously creepy and soothing. If she broke pallets with her ax and didn't make bare footstep sounds when I use her cosmetics with boots she'd be perfect.

Legion 2nd (edgy teens), Wraith 3rd (he's adorable), Plague 4th, and Michael 5th.

  • I feel like everyone saying David's Dead Hard gives him an edge are forgetting two things.

    1.) Killers are people too.

If any Killer worth their salt sees a David with No Mither they're gonna bait out the Dead Hard. You'll have to try and bait out their bait or use it at a loop for distance to get any usage.

    2.) Dedicated Servers.

I think this speaks for itself honestly.

In my opinion, in actual games Adept David has less of a chance at getting any benefit out of Dead Hard than Adept Steve has at getting any benefit out of Babysitter.

  • Plague.

I love her anyways; but she is in serious need of a good shower. Have you seen how oily her hair looks?

  • Red Forest Gang, best gang.

Plague's just a great and fun Killer, and this change will hopefully make her more fun to face. The way I see it, since she'll have her power by default maybe more people will cleanse; making games against her more interactive and less everyone getting slugged at the last gen 4 minutes into the game.

But even without the upcoming change, she's very fun to play as. Either you get a super hatchet that you can arc over things or you're a Tier 3 Michael.

  • Perk counters are not legitimate, but it's an issue more applicable to solo Survivor than Killer.

    - Gen Speed and Items/Addons involving that.

    - Healing and Perks/Items/Addons involving that.

    - Flashlights and Items/Addons involving that.

    - Aura Reading on objectives and Perks/Items/Addons involving that.

    - Aura Reading on yourself and Perks involving that.

    - Endgame Exit Gates

    - Hatch play (which has no counters besides getting there first) and Perks/Items/Addons involving that.

    - Chests

    - Pallets and Vault Points and Perks/Items/Addons involving that.

    - Chase durations and Perks that involve that.

    - Hex Totem protection (If applicable) and Perks involving that.

Replace Hex Totem protection with Hex Totem destruction and these are all Survivor problems that all have associated perks.

There are no perks for chests or Hatch as Killer and anyone can see their Objective auras as base kit whenever they pick someone up.

Killers need to keep track of a LOT of information, but perks aren't necessary for that. It's just stuff you need to keep track of.

I'm not saying Killer is easy, just that the things that are troubling for Killer aren't solved by Killer perks. Perks assist, sometimes quite a lot, but they're never necessary.

Survivor on the other hand has plenty of troubles that are 'solvable' through perks.

Tunnelling requires DS or BT to counter; slugging needs Unbreakable, Flip Flop, or No Mither; healing alone isn't possible without Inner Strength, Self-Care, or a medkit; finding pallets that haven't been wasted by teammates is Alert or Windows of Opportunity; searching for totems that aren't in an open field is Detective's Hunch or Small Game; finding 3 gens is Deja Vu; finding Hatch is Left Behind; finding Gates is Wake Up!; avoiding stealthy Killers is Spine Chill or Premonition; etc.

In a SWF this is a non issue because you have 3 reliable teammates who can make plenty of these perks redundant. But as a Solo Survivor if you don't have the applicable perk you're just out of luck.

  • Grim Pantry also has no few spawns with no pallet loops in the center of the map.

And even those variations where pallets spawn there still are no defensible tiles in the center; just bloodlustable low wall loops. Besides the god window that map has almost nothing.

There's also multiple variations where 2 gens spawn on the pier and another one within eyesight of it.

It also has like 8 or 9 lockers total; all of which are by the edges of the map.

There's also only one hook that is reachable from the center of the map. If PTB Sabo stays that map will be ungodly.

That map still sucks for everyone, but overall it sucks more for Survivor since the devs made it a bit smaller.

If you play anyone besides Huntress you should do well as long as you just give up chase on any competent Survivor that reaches the window.

Well the last time was over a week or so ago, and I've barely played since, given it wasn't the first time its happened, so I took a break from it for awhile. I figured it was a bug, but thank you for the response. :)

    No problem.

If you play anytime soon I hope you don't run into it again.

  • Agreed.

For the People is only gonna be useful in SWF, where their high coordination can let it be used to great effect in some clutch scenarios. Even then it'll still be a bit tough to use. Solos will just waste a perk slot using it.

Off The Record is trash. You can just use lockers and Iron Will and you achieve almost the exact same effect, or run DS and don't care if the Killer sees you within 60 seconds of being unhooked.

Red Herring is just a worse pebble. Unless you're the last Survivor looking for the Black Lock or you are trying to sandbag someone it's just not gonna be useful.

I really hope the devs give some major changes to all these perks. But their response to all the feedback saying Camaraderie was bad was just to make it last longer, so I wouldn't hold my breath.
