Yall can tunnel generators but I can't tunnel yall? I see how it is.
-
I'll have you know that this game is balanced against the side I play on. I mean we all suffered nerfs and all that and the devs address the glitches and bugs that help my side and hurt the other side first, and it's unfair.

At some point there is going to be another killer that is like Nurse that ignores a majority of the current defenses in game. The counterplay will be the exact same as Nurse for the most part; you will have to do something other than run around pallets all match.
Will that be too OP as well? Will the only balanced killers be ones that can be looped? We should be trying to make MORE killers that challenge you to play the game very differently. It makes it more diverse and not the same monatonous task over and over.
LOL No there won't 😂
Did you look inside your crystal ball to predict the future?

Correction, she was op only on Pc. She was already mediocre on Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. Now she’s worse than Leatherface.
Very very false as a PS4 player, she functioned the same way. The differences between console and PC are hilariously overstated

And all honesty using Ad Homonyms should really be against the rules of this forum if they aren't already.

Nah, there is plenty of other defenses besides pallets.
Pallets, Vaults and that's really it. The only reason loops are good is because of those two things. Those two things which spirit ignores.

Tunneling is fine. As you said, you are only doing your objective.
This is a PvP game, you are allowed to go for the opponent team's weakest link. You are not the survivors' fun provider.
Nobody expects survivors to play generously and gift the killer hooks or kills so that the killer has fun, so why expect so many people the killer to play generously? I don't get this mindset.
Exactly. I don't care about survivors fun. What's that got to do with me? I don't owe them anything and they don't owe me anything. I will tunnel I will camp and I will do what it takes to win. This game punishes me too much as a killer to care about anyone's fun but my own.
-
Nurse was and still is absolutely broken. Ignoring all defenses outright is game breaking. Literally breaking the rules of the game. But in terms of fun, I don't k ow what to tell you.

You're correct, it's supposed to be a team based game. The problem is you can't force randoms to play as a team.
"If the killer is really set into tunneling a survivor, body blocking will at least guarantee the tunneled survivor will get to a new loop in which if they are good can prolong the chase for a while"
And where did this assumption of the survivor being good, come from? Not every survivor can loop. And not every survivor knows how to body block. The problem is that people that get tunneled don't feel like playing the game much after, because it sucks out all the fun.
"Last night I had meme games with Mettle of Man and I had no problem waiting for the survivor to circle around a structure then once they go past me I jump behind them and in front of the killer to gain a token."
Cool, so you had one chance while a survivor was already at a hook. You wouldn't have the same chance if they just got unhooked and the killer was already there close enough to catch up to them immediately.
It's also completely unnecessary. You don't have to tunnel to win a game as killer.
I'd like to clarify that by tunneling I don't mean finding the injured survivor first if they made no attempts to hide, I mean deliberately going after the survivor with the sole intention of downing them again even if they ran away from the hook and there are other survivors in view. That stuff is just pure cancer.
You save time by getting the already injured survivor down. And he had already been hooked no less. Saving time is the most important strategy as a killer by far, as the game will punish you 10x than any one survivor for wasting time

lmao I swear survivor's are confusing , one point they'll say to counter ds by slugging then they call it cheap.
That's not a fair argument. Not every survivor shares a hive mind.
-
Stopped IMMEDIATELY after you can't force randoms to play as a team. If they won't play as a team then you all will suffer, it's just that simple. Right down to the hatch standoff.
-
Played both, literally no difference. If this was a shooter it'd have a greater impact but it's not so it doesn't.
-
He's saying while you're chasing the survivor the other survivors is doing something that ultimately works against your goal as the killer, the other survivors. It doesn't even have to be gens. It could be healing, cleansing your active totems, or if there's one survivor left, looking for the hatch.

Exactly
-
In my honest opinion, no other killer terrifies me more than the Oni. The reason why Myers is terrifying because you don't know when he'll pop up, but with Oni it's the exact opposite. When I hear Oni going into Rage Mode it genuinely terrifies me. Makes me anxious. When he downs a survivor across the map slamming his big club....like damn. And when I hear him coming I piss myself.

Lol all this drivel has counterplay.
-Its not fun to be looped around the entire map and have 3 gens pop back to back
Don't be chasing a survivor that long. Run perks that slow gen progress
-Its not fun getting hit by pallets over and over
Don't run through pallets. Run enduring, spirit fury
-Its not fun to get body blocked by three people while you're trying to hook someone
Hit them! Run mad grit, agitation, iron grasp
-Its not fun to be blinded by two or three people after you finish a long chase
Pick up a survivor while facing a wall/tree. Run lightborn
-Its not fun for a killer to have to deal with borrowed time
Don't camp!
-Its not fun for killers to get repeatedly flashlight clicked or t-bagged over and over
This is just crybaby nonesense
-Its not fun when a killer finally catches a tryhard and they DC because they can't handle getting hooked or killed
I feel this, I hate that too. At least it's becoming punishable
-its not fun for a killer to be doing a good job through out the whole match and the survivors escape with a key
If you're doing a good job, they won't even see a hatch.
-its not fun when survivors hide through out the whole match and barely try to do the gens because they're too scared to do the gens and don't want to get caught
Get out the potato ranks (by not camping)
-Its not fun when survivors dc because they don't like the map
As previously stated
-its not fun when survivors dc because they don't like the killer
As above
-Its not fun when survivors suicide on hook because they're angry babies
Survivors tend to when camped
-Its not fun when a swf on comms coordinate to repeatedly loop and locker stun the killer
Yeah, swf is brutal. Git gud
-Its not fun when a killer is trying to hook someone only to find someone broke the hook
Honestly, how often does that really happen?
-its not fun for Trapper to find out his trap was broken
They regenerate
-Its not fun to play Plague because her power depends on the Survivors actions
I like playing plague, survivors are either 1 hit down and I get to down them at distance
-Its not fun to face a group of survivors that have 4 toolboxes and one or two brand new parts and power through all the gens in 5 minutes.
Franklin's demise, corrupt intervention, ruin, Thana, dying light, pgtw, surveillance, overcharge.... it's ALWAYS the killers fault if gens get done in under 5 mins
So, what's the counter for being camped/face campes and tunnelled?
That depends on your teammates
-
This whole discussion shouldn't have been made

We agree on something. Congrats, I guess? My point was a seemingly double standard. Devs think SWF is fine. If that's the case, then Nurse should be fine as well. Both 'break the game,' by your definition. So if they're okay with it, is it breaking the game?
What does them bringing solos up to SWF level have to do with anything, though? That's a topic for another time, though I do wish they would give some kind of roadmap on that. If you're trying to point out that they're 'working on game breaking mechanics,' I still disagree that Nurse, basekit, is game breaking.
First, her skill cap alone was a hindrance. Take away omega blink, and how many 'good' Nurse players were there compared to the rest? She could do well with no addons, but it took extra work, which is why omega blink was so popular. And so easy. Then her fatigue. People seem to forget that's her drawback, and failed to use it. You can get a lot done in the two seconds she can't see you. Slapping yet another cool down on top of her cool down in the way they did comes off as both sloppy and lazy to me.
Like most killers, they take a bit of time to learn. Nurse was no different. What the devs should have done was hold off on the base kit changes. Throw in the new addons, and wait. Watch the data. See what changes, before implementing any change to her base kit. Give a chance for the changes to settle, and see where Nurse falls into line. As it stands, in the month and a half since the changes, I've had two matches against a Nurse. Two. And it was a stomp. I can only imagine how it must have felt being the Nurse.
I'm not saying she wasn't tricky to go against. Against a good Nurse, you couldn't use the usual killer tactics. But that's the whole learning process. I used to have fun with it (minus omega blink, or some of those distance addons), but I can see where some of the problems came from. That doesn't mean I thought her base kit needed the hit.
I just read your entire post which ignores the first sentence of my first post. I don't care how much skill it takes. I don't care how many people know how to do it. That doesn't come into account of game design. The devs don't care and shouldn't care either how much practice it takes. You don't get to break the game just because you're skillful. Something requiring skill is not a good excuse to break the game. There is 0 excuse to break the game. YOU brought up SWF which I TOLD YOU THE DEVS ARE WORKING ON. Which THEY HAVE SAID THEY ARE WORKING ON. There is no double standard. They took the more complicated and difficult route of fixing survivor with friends. I don't even know what the point of bringing it up is. If you want to argue the quality of her changes that's fine, but to say her base kit isn't broken is asanine.
@FriendlyGuy said:
Like no? The nurse addons were broken. The old base nurse were 100% fine. No nerfs needed.
EDIT: Everyone that says she breaks the game is a meghead, in sorry. She got massive counterplay, but is not pallet loopable. And?
Believing that being to ignore all defense survivors have is kinds yikes bro.

Does she remove the ability of survivors to move? No.
Just a completely skill dependant matchup.
Nice pallet you got there. Mind if I...ignore it....
Nice loop. Mind if I........ignore it.
Oh you're on the top floor of the asylum? Don't mind me I'm just gonna zip up there and hit you.
Survivors don't need to have their ability to move taken away to be caught.

If it were game breaking, the devs wouldn't allow it. Sounds to me you just need to 'git gud.' She isn't hard to figure out. You can't play against her like you would Trapper or Bubba. But then, most people that complain are people that just don't want to learn.
If you think she's game breaking, then I have every right to say SWF with comms is game breaking. That can LITERALLY IGNORE THE MAJORITY OF KILLERS THOUGHTS/PLANS/ACTIONS. It goes both ways.
What gets me is the people saying that she needed a cool down on her power, forgetting that she already does. Her fatigue. Honestly, all this nerf to basekit did was slap a cool down. . . on her cool down. It's stupid. Her addon changes? Those were good. They were needed. I have no issue with that. But basekit? No.
What if I told you....that I also think SWF with Comms is just as broken as nurse...because it is...
Didn't see that one coming did you?
However the difference is the devs plan on changing the rules of the game entirely, bring solo survivor's up to the level of SWF and then bring killers up to that level as well.
What gets ME is that you attempted to appeal to hypocrisy by assuming I'm okay with SWF as it is now. Not only are you wrong, you clearly show that your intentions are to argue in bad faith.
-
Idgaf how much skill a character takes. You. Don't. Get. To. Break. The. Game. She can LITERALLY IGNORE ALL OF SURVIVORS DEFENSES. Sorry folks but that's game breaking.
-
@Kagrenac said:
She had it coming for years. She broke the game and was left a monstrosity for that entire time. There was NOTHING you could do to counter a Nurse player that knew what they were doing before the nerf.
Looping? Ineffective against a Nurse that knows how to counter jukes.
Stealth? Good luck with that considering every new release adds more and more perks to make it harder for survivors to hide.
Gen Rushing? Didn't work against a character that can zoom across the map at mach 5 every few seconds.
Even if you managed to juke her it didn't matter. Her blink would recharge and she would close that distance again. There has never been a killer as powerful as her and I'm glad she's been changed.
I agree 100% and I'm pretty dumbfounded that so many people disagree

@Coriander said:
Then you're saying it should show everyone, right? It's an anti-camping perk. Why would it not show the most notorious campers? The entire purpose is to show the other players whether or not it is safe to come for a rescue, and if someone else is already on the way.
I heard about some changes, but in my game Kindred functions as it always has, so I assume it's coming out with the next update. Maybe when they fix the basement bug.
No, the purpose of this perk now at the very least is to show who is going for the rescue so the others can keep doing generators, healing, ect.

BHVR got too obsessive-compulsive with making everything consistent across the board and they can't see when they break something in the process to appease that fetish for 'consistency'. The most important aspect of Kindred got sacrificed to make Undetectable consistent across Powers and Perks. I'll still run Bond over Kindred.
Making things consistent is the exact opposite of breaking, that's basic video game design knowledge. Undetectable killers are supposed to be Undetectable for a reason, and Kindred should not and will not change that.
-

Its an exploit in the game and is really unfair and unenjoyable. If you are aware of this and do it consistently you should be banned

Upon inspection if he doesnt need to stance swap anymore this could be interesting..if he does still..well..I think he will suffer for it
Apparently he'll need to stance swap for shock therapy while blast is in punishment
-
@NuclearBurrito said:
Ok real talk though. Why are you assuming this is a nerf? We can't deduce that from the leak.
If a Static Blast is just a Shock Therapy attack on everyone in the TR then this is a massive buff to his chase potential for example for obvious reasons.
It also sounds like he won't need to change forms in order to use Shock Therapy, meaning that if they change nothing else it will be 2 seconds faster to use the ability assuming you want to hit them afterwards (since changing forms is 1 seconds so using it means you switch forms twice over 2 seconds). Which is again a buff.
And the effects of madness appear to be unchanged. So the determining factors are just hearing if there is anything else changing and what the numbers are, only then can we determine if this is a buff or a nerf. Until then complaining about him being nerfed just makes no sense.
Like seriously, what exactly did he lose? The 2 big changes seem to be 1 buff (no form switching) and 1 sidegrade (passive madness gain replaced with a large AOE attack).
This is a buff. I thought they were gonna Butcher my poor boy but this gets me excited soooooooooooooooooo much.
-
Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait. So let me get this straight....so instead of passive static gain while in the terror radius....its an active gain. I love it. I absolutely love it. This is great. He's going to synergize so well with Whispers now. I LOVE this. I WANT this.

As said above, slugging is high risk. That survivor could be picked up by another survivor and then you just wasted hooking a survivor like an idiot. And you get punished via lack of sacrifice blood points.

People complain about every killer no matter how weak some people make them out to be. I've seen people calling Plague strong so it wont be "lets dodge this spirit" it will be "Lets dodge every killer unless it's a LF or Clown". Killers will practically get no games whatsoever unless they are playing one of the weakest killers in the game, this wont be a good idea.
It was always intended for killers to see the survivors because it gives them the opportunity to edit their build slightly before the match.
It does give killers the edge, and I guess that's always been intended
-
I also recommend overcharge. To make things even MORE difficult
-
Instead of 2 terror radius add ons, if you REALLY want to be oppressive, go with purple Calm, Distressing, and Purple Order. Not only do you have a big terror radius, it will get people to madness quicker.
-
I never thought it was fair that Killers could see items and survivors couldn't see what killer was in play. It might be because of dedicated servers, if killers can dodge now they won't DC later in a match. But if that's the case then survivors should get the opertunity to know what killer they're going up against before a match starts. People don't like going up against 4 toolboxes which es understandable, but people also don't like going up against spirit.
