If it wasn't intended, why wasn't it changed before reaching live servers? Oh, wait, it was, it was nerfed. Not removed. Odd....
So.... Wait, what?
Why nerf the unintended mechanic if it was never entirely intended? LITERALLY makes no sense.
ALSO, not the same type of complaint. At all. Can't tell you are a biased survivor main at all...
Almost all developers have a deadline to reach, and even if there are problems they'll seldom delay the release of new content.

Wow, if that's true then it seems all those who always downcast us console players concerns because "it's not made for us" can eat crow
They can eat more than crow if you catch my drift. Entitlted pricks

I have been playing Oni almost exclusively for about a week now, and despite how much I love his design his gameplay is frustrating.
The biggest complaint I have is that console players simply cannot flick Demon Strike after they dash like on PC. Even with sensitivity cranked all the way up, I can barely turn 30 degrees. It's extremely detrimental because all survivors have to do is stay at loops and they are completely safe. This really kills his potential because that is a huge part of his skill cap that simply can't exist on console due to controller limitations. Even without the dash, his one-shot lunge is very difficult to control while survivors have an easy time dodging it.
I've accepted killers that require precise aim will always be at a disadvantage on console (Nurse, Huntress), but it really kills me that Oni seems to be one of them. I love this killer but I feel like I simply can't get better with him due to the limitations console give him.
Fellow console players, I know I am not the only one with these complaints. Do you have similar frustrations? Those who play survivor, do you feel like Oni is easily counterable?
And most importantly, can we use Oni as the most recent example that console players are in need of more controller options? Are there any plans in the near future to give console players higher sensitivity, aim acceleration, or anything else that can give them an easier time in game?
Yes you can flick on console. You have to hold both joysticks in the direction of the survivor. I've tested this out with people and alone and in actual games multiple times.

One of the shittiest posts I've ever seen ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
If people can see they're versing survivor with friends then no one's every going to play against them. EVER. The commend the devs for taking the better, more difficult, healthier route. Instead of fixing this broken feature directly, they're balancing everything else around it which makes it no longer broken. If Killers have the option to not face a SWF team then they won't. Which would hurt the game's population.
-
If you think Nurse is destroyed just because you can't blink in rapid succession then you're yikes bro. She's STILL broken AF.

"Plagues every community"
What about the Plague community?
Plague is the most underrated killer in the game by far

No clue why seems like a higher risk compared to hooking for much less reward

Pig, Legion, Leatherface, Clown, Doctor. At the bare minimum. Nurse.
Nurse is by no means weak. She's the exact same viability as before only except you can't use blinks in as rapid succession

Off topic a bit, but why do players feel the need to play the killer if all they want is the teachable? You can play the killer you like and put points into other characters. Is it an addon thing? Where you don't want to fall behind on the amount of addons you have?
Because the fun of a lot of killers I play live and dies by their add ons and those add ons are not permanent, so I constantly have to put blood points into said add ons. The only exception is Ghostface, and his BP gain is terrible.

"Clown had some REALLY good chase potential but the problem is his pressure is nonexistent."
I actually wouldn't even say Clown counters pallets though. He just forces survivors to use them early. Unfortunately there are still too many pallets and the gens go too fast for this to matter enough. I agree he has no map pressure.
"They aren't inaccurate they're just broad"
Broad meaning they are incompassing a lot of extra factors that skew the data, ie not accurate.
Clown can cut off areas during a chase that makes it a risk to go to. And no, that's not how data works. What the graph says is what it says. The REASONING behind what the graph says is broad but at the end of the day it says what it says
-
@Blueberry said:
If the killer plays by the survivors rules, they lose (ie the pallet looping game). This is why the "viable" killers are the ones with powers that counter looping and don't have to deal with it. To win with killers that play their game, there has to be a massive skill difference between the survivors and killers. I mean these survivors are messing up a lot. Which is where the common "it's more about whether the survivors screw up than how good I am" phrase comes from. I'm speaking of rank 1 games to be more precise, with the best players against each other in which you aren't going to see that large of a skill gap to make the difference. This scenario does not apply to low ranks where survivors just play badly enough that you can make anything work.
The extreme factor of:
Do they counter pallet looping?
Yes? Viable
No? Dumpster.
Shows how too much survival reliance is currently on loops.
I'd prefer changes that weakened looping but gave survivors other reliable ways to survive.
Clown had some REALLY good chase potential but the problem is his pressure is nonexistent.

Those stats are heavily flawed and not remotely accurate as the devs even said themselves.

I mean, by that metric I’ve killed 2 red ranks in a single game playing no blink no add on no perk Nurse since the changes, so one game I’m skeptical is indicative of the whole.
There were a FEW more like this, and there would probably be more, but I have effectively stopped playing nurse because I got what I wanted out of her (teachables for Legion)

Same here with me and Huntress. It depends how potato the survivors are.
They definitely weren't potatoes. They looped the hell out of me whenever they could. The ONLY reason I was able to kill 2 was because I got was able to time the blinks right and predict some of the loops. When I got a crazy ass blink hit or was inches away from one landing I knew she was broken. The idea of a good nurse player who would have actually MEANT to do some of this horrified me

That's all well and good but I want some clarifying factors:
What rank?
Are they SWF?
I feel like you would not be saying this if you were playing her in high elo.
So VERY glad you asked. I am purple rank. THEY were red, which is something that is happening too OFTEN for a rank 7, and may have been SWF.

Rank is meaningless in this game unfortunately since they constantly do a rank reset, although I guess it'll be slightly better now after the recent changes but the point still stands. So with that I argue that any good Nurses you saw in low ranks were there because of rank reset, not because they actually belong there. I PROMISE you baby Nurse is a term for a reason, it means anyone who hasn't at least become adept with Nurse will usually lose and be extremely easy to loop/loose.
Perfect Nurse vs Perfect Survivor is hard to say. There are so many factors from maps to perks that would change the outcome. I'd argue if they were a perfect survivor they could probably loop Nurse for a little bit. Maybe not minutes upon minutes but that really shouldn't happen on any killer tbh. And usually the argument is actually the other way around, survivors can make huge mistakes and still escape/pip but if killers make even 1 mundane mistake or misplay it can cost them the entire game and even 0k. She was like the one killer that actually punished you for mistakes, now you can just lala jog in the park and she will take forever to catch up now. So dumb.
Just saying, I'm completely trash with nurse and barely play her but even then I'm able to get 2 kills at least with her.

Then that's where the problem is. If you need to decimate in order to not depip then maybe that needs to be looked at. Conversely red ranks are supposed to mean you're pretty darn good and so are they so maybe you just eat the depip and figure out how to do it better other than running ruin or bbq
I agree completely
-
Nah you're good
-
Don't worry, that killer is gonna get deranked too.
-
When I play against Red Ranks on PS4 they're usually SWF who invite me to their party and then we all have a good time. Sometimes toxic but I have to deal with that at every rank
-
YouTube. HybridPanda specifically.
-
I pick someone up and here come the other squad of Yuis swarming me and then in a few seconds I drop the survivor. And then they run off.

Ruin is only necessary if your killer has no stalll potential, and most people use BBQ for the Bloodpoints. The Aura Reading also helps people not camp.
BBQ is literally a survivor sided perk because it forces the killer to move away from an advantageous position (i.e near the hook)
It doesn't promote camping and it doesn't discourage camping. It gives you information. If I don't see auras after hooking the survivor I'm camping
-
Camp, because survivors don't know how to cut their losses.
-
Before anyone says any killer is OP or Doesn't have counter play or anything of that nature they should show us a video of them going against that killer
-
@[Deleted User] said:

Camping and slugging can be prevented if the survivors are good. Using a mori is just a coinflip if you get found first and if you do, and the killer is focused on killing you once you get unhooked then bam, you're out.
It's also not the only way to win. This just sounds like you would rather have easy games instead of actually improving your killer gameplay. Apply pressure and you'll see that survivors will have a harder time pumping out those gens.
Have you also considered that if you're facing good survivors and you get outplayed, then you weren't supposed to win anyway? You're not entitled to win every game. It's important to take a loss and learn from it.
As I agree with most of what you said, I'm getting tired of seeing "jUSt appLY preSSurE". These survivors are played by humans who can simply ignore pressure or counter it altogether.

C'mon this is silly...it equates to 2.92 kills a game. If something cost $2.92 you rounding that to 2$ or 3.
1 survivor is 25%. 3 is 75%. 2 is 50. Until it reaches 75 you're averaging out to 2 survivors per game.

Pretty sure 70% is closer to a 3k than 2.
But also that says something is wrong with the ranking system, not gens.
That's not how averages work. 3K don't happen on average until it reaches 75%

Ok Dwight! Just kidding, I guess there is a counter... Just curious on how long is it until the crows find you?
60 seconds on the first crow 75 on the second, 90 on the 3rd where the noise notification will appear. Even if you do get caught getting into a locker will force him to grab you, and then he will loose his power and his pressure with it.

Hide in lockers until his power is gone. Just that simple

Hitting survivors with FF makes them broken for 60 seconds and mangled as base kit.

You don't have to abandon chase though? It's just as much a tracking tool as it is for injuring survivors.
Legions ability is fine (albeit annoying), the problem is that most people only use it to deal damage.
Agreed

@DarthRane said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/902938#Comment_902938
Broken is only good against bad survivors because good survivors are just going to do gens anyway, survivors do not have a hard time finding each other, as for medkit the 2 most common items are tool boxes and med kits.
He's just not a good killer an ability where you have to abandon chase is not a good ability.
Of course survivors with broken are going to do Gens anyway, you don't even have to be good to know that. You're broken what else are you gonna do? Heal? They can find each other, but can they find each other before YOU find them, while they are 1 hit away from being downed and on a hook, while they are hilariously loud. Like being injured is a very disadvantage state to be in. But I digress, the point of using Feral Frenzy is to get everyone to the injured state is to make the game less punishing on your end. You don't have to go into long chase sequences to get everyone injured, and you've cut chases in half if not that then you got everyone off the generators.
-
@Clevite said:
Nothing can be done about gen speed. No one wants sit on gens any longer. Maybe a secondary objective. But aren't kill rates at like 70% now. Seems plenty of killers are doing fine with current speeds
70% is a 2k on average which is a depip for red ranks
-
Probably only more perks that buff solo survivors

@DarthRane said:

Problem is injuries don't progress the killers objective hooks do, and injuring people then leaving them alone is essentially wasting time because it's not exactly that long to heal back up
Think about it. You don't have any insta downs. So you have to eventually hit them anyway. By injuring all of them in such a short amount time, you just saved yourself some time for the next chase. You're right it doesn't take long to heal. However, that's assuming they have a Med Kit. That's assuming they'll find each other before you find them. It doesn't progress your objective but it keeps survivors from progressing their's. It puts the pressure on them. If you have thanatophobia, it makes them want to heal and waste time even more. Let's add the pin that puts broken into the equation. Now that's 60 seconds they CAN'T heal, added onto the time they actually do need to heal. When survivors waste time like this it makes the game much less punishing for you as a killer.

Maybe if you didn't camp, you wouldn't get any hate messages. I play killer and I usually play an aggressive build, in the past month I've gotten no hate messages and even a few gg's. (I play on PS4). Camping is literally frowned upon by everyone except for people like you. And you're whole thing about "...get them even more mad at a video game." is bullcrap. Some people play this game competitively, and you camping ruins they're rank and fun. I bet you tunnel as well don't you? You are the type of killer that earns us killers AS A WHOLE, toxic.
OK h8er

I know he's not considered good but I can find strength in the ability to injure multiple survivors in a short period of time

People on consoles just want to cry and wish for mouse and keyboard support instead of practicing to be good. It would be cool if console had the option to turn faster but the sensitivity only allows so much. Gotta work with what you got.
You're actually right as a console player myself. There's not much difference between the two and I have played on M&K. I prefer controller because that's what I'm used to.

@SilentSpectre said:
Even if ruin gets instantly destroyed, you can still pressure generators pretty reliably with a fast killer. You're playing oni, there's literally no excuse.
Oni has the weakest start of the game by far. THAT'S the excuse. He's at his weakest in the most important part of the entire game. If ruin goes down he's extra fricked. Now he is a killer with 0 pressure and 1 less perk. At the start he's literally a pressureless killer.

no, it isn’t, you rarely ever see someone who’s able to good with nurse on console. Even in rank ranks she nevers sees play. The difference between console and pc isn’t overstated when you take into account that one killer is more effective with M&K vs a controller and the game only runs at 30fps which makes it even harder.
You really can't change my mind on this. 60fps vs 30fps has nothing to do with reaction speed. Smoother animation is better to look at for sure, but like I said. Really no difference.
