  • You don’t never escape a killer beyond 10 seconds because they would simply jump over everything to get at you.

Your loops would never save you.

How'd you do the teeth for the Trapper mask? Did you just cut into the mask with scissors shaping the teeth? These are awesome masks, great job I'm sure your boys love them :) great parenting.

I cut out the mouth then used the pieces I cut out to cut into different shapes triangles for the teeth. I got clued the teeth to the back of the mask so the poked over the line of the mouth to give the mask some added depth. I’ll take a picture of the back of the mask tomorrow and post it.

  • D: The Freddy re-work.

But A is a close second.

  • I don’t care what it is. I just want to play.

  • Another addition needs to be that we can pick up Survivors in the dying state (or be able to put survivors in the dying state into the dream realm).

  • And now the front of the Trapper mask is finished!

You might leave the knives at home or the car tho, i heard some cons got stricter with props.

And kids find ways to expose themselves to stuff. Oh the good old Hellsing on VIVA lol.

Have fun at the con, hope you run into other dbd-fans

The one we’re going to is fine with them so long as they’re plastic.it was bought from the dollar store and just painted. I hadn’t actually thought about the pin! I’ll have to see if I can make one...

  • Legion is finished. Two coats of white semi-gloss paint, a plastic knife, some red paint, a simple expo marker, and a $17 jacket completed the ensemble. Trapper will benfinished in the next few days.

  • Freddy Rework info

    Adjusted end game info

    New cosmetics for survivors

The new killer to be some sort of evil crusader

  • Someone took a screenshot at a bad angle with worse perspective that made her features look bad?

No one takes good selfies 100% of the time.

  • If gates are powered:

    1. The hatch doesn’t open.

    If a gate is opened:

    1. The hatch doesn’t open.
    2. Survivors and killer auras are revealed.
    3. Survivors gain the exposed effect.
    4. Survivors that wait within 10 meters outside of an open exit gate, or within 20 meters of the exit itself, will be put into the dying state after 20 seconds of remaining in this area (this timer does not reset if you leave the area, it simply pauses).
    5. Survivors suffer from the Exposed effect if they remain outside of the exit gate’s 10 meter radius after three minutes of a gate being opened.
    6. The Killer’s aura disappears.

This ought to promote the “get out or die” mentality that the survivors should always have. It’s not a race to see who can farm the most points, it’s a game of survival. The longer you remain in the trial, the high your chances of dying become.

    These are my favorites.

  • I think Sabotage could be made more viable if Tier 3 let you sabotage a hook up to 99%, and if a killer tries to hook someone on the sabotaged hook, the hook breaks for 1 minute and the survivor is simply dropped to the ground.

I like the idea of a locker-focused killer, though I agree with Raptorrotas that picking lockers off a map might not be the best way of doing it. Personally, I'd do something like this: The killer presses SPACE (or whatever) to enter the locker, and while inside the locker, the killer sees the aura of all other lockers. The killer can teleport to a locker with CTRL or M1, similar to the Hag teleporting to a trap, but doesn't exit the locker until they press SPACE again. If the killer teleports to a locker currently holding a survivor, they step out already holding the survivor (or maybe they just know the survivor is there but have the option not to step out). While within a locker, all auras are blocked (besides other lockers). They can see their surroundings when in a locker, but can't see or hear survivors or their effects (so no blood, scratch marks, flying crows, generator movement, etc.).

I'd definitely give this killer a slow movespeed to balance out their exceptional map control, too.

Unnerving Presence might be a bit too strong. It basically hard counters all exhaustion perks besides Adrenaline. Lithe in particular would be completely unusable since it basically never triggers unless the killer is right up your ass anyway. The other perks are interesting, but it's strange to see a Hex have a permanent effect *after* it's cleansed.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I’ll go through my thought processes and let you guys see where I’m at. Let me know if the changes I’m considering are good or not.

I actually thought about seeing the auras and being able to simply activate the movement that way but thought that might be too quick of a use of the power (and survivors would call it OP). I just figured a pop up map would slow it down and this balance it. But if you guys think the aura version more balanced I can go with that.

For Unnervin Presence I kept thinking about how the devs continually say that everything in the game has a counter. I thought this might be an interesting way of countering things like Sprint Burst, Dead Hard, etc. It won’t catch every survivor, but it could hange how survivors look at their loadouts. Do you think it would be more balanced if the Exhaustion effect happens after 15/10/5 seconds of being in the terror radius instead?

As far as the Hex goes, I thought it would be an interesting flip in the mechanic where you were given a choice between an annoying mechanic you can entirely avoid, or block a mechanic and deal with a rebuff the rest of the game. I may remove the aura reveal upon leaving a locker and keep it as the effect after it’s cleansed. That way it’s more of a red herring and you simply have to make the decision whether or not to cleanse it (like haunted grounds).

  • Considering the survivor’s sort of line up with their killers:

    male

    probably Hispanic or French

low ranking church official or witch hunter

The reboot is not a loophole as the ruling bascially covers making any new content going forward not what was before the lawsuit.

The lawsuit means Horror inc can no longer produce films or new forms of media (games) called F13th in the US, now in theory they could release the iconic character hockey mask look and call it Jason Vorhees chapter but it cant be called or have anything to do with the name F13th.

Miller can make a film using F13th name and Jason Vorhees but not the hockey mask look.

Horror Inc also retained the international rights as the law doesnt apply out of the US so again in theory DBD could make a deal with them to make the character available everywhere apart from in the US and use the name F13th, its a minefield right now

Isn’t BHVR locates in Canada, making the whole conversation moot since they’re not bound to the US law?

And all the veterans agree with him.

    Your point ?

    Also @Orion

"Not doing so is how we end up with people who don't remember that survivors were the first side to become overwhelmingly toxic, until killers had had enough and responded in kind, thus leading to the false conclusion that both sides are equally to blame."

    So true, sadly.

Pretty sure that a good bunch of them conviniently forgot, of course.

Again, I’d like to see the consensus.

You can apply the same logic to any term in any language. Words have definition by consensus, and the consensus is that face camping is an exploit that was removed a while ago.

I’d like to see the consensus. Because so far at least three people in this thread disagree with you.

  • @Mc_Harty said:

Who the ######### cares about some made-up definitions? I'm still going to call a killer that sits in front of a survivors face as face-camping.

    Fite me scrub.

    Basically.

Telling players they can’t use a term that someone else made up for what is essentially the same thing is just presumptuous and elitist.

Face camping is whatever a person says it is because it’s a made up term for a game style.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343477#Comment_343477

No as Miller technically created Jason Vorhees the character by name and won the case for F13th the first movie, so he in effect owns the rights to everything in that first film.

Now the look of the character may be given to horror inc but if they cant use the name what use is it? it may no longer be F13th or Jason Vorhees.

It seems there is a lot to discuss and I cant see it being straight forward for any party to do something unless they can sit down and sort something out which is mutually beneficial, if it gets split well its possible you may have Miller with F13th Jason Vorhees with no iconic look and then Horro Inc with the Iconic look but no F13th or Jason Vorhees, in theory.

Does he own the rights to the 2009 reboot? Because if not then you have your loophole right there.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343602#Comment_343602

Except that the thing you're describing already has a word (hard camping), and even words denoting things that no longer exist have their use.

I hate to break it to you, but i’ve Never seen or heard the term hard camping since I’ve been playing.

I think the community may have taken face camping and adjusted it without your consent.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343594#Comment_343594

Acknowledging history is not elitist. Not doing so is how we end up with people who don't remember that survivors were the first side to become overwhelmingly toxic, until killers had had enough and responded in kind, thus leading to the false conclusion that both sides are equally to blame.

Using imhistory as a “back when this was a thing so we used this term and we can only ever use it for this thing even though that thing doesn’t even exist anymore so we can no longer use that term” argument is elitist because it says that only certain people have a right to use that term because onlybthey experiences it and the term cannot change to suit the new mechanic.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343571#Comment_343571

Well the act people use it for now was refered to as hard camping, its more than likely used by people who dont have the knowledge of the past and understand why it was actually referred to as face camping before.

If you ever saw what face camping was you would understand more, you used to be able to stand just inside the body of the survivor literally face to face blocking the unhook prompt, it made it impossible to save, hence the term, you may call it what you like of course but it doesnt change the fact that face camping in this game by its original definition is no longer possible.

I know what it was. And I know what it is now. Definitions change. Clinging to one because it used to be one thing that doesn’t exist anymore and trying to insult people for using a term that can still be applied to the closest act is just elitist and showing that for some reason you cannot allow a made up term’s definition change to fit the new dynamic for some reason.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/343536#Comment_343536

No it was a term used since DBD launched by the players and the devs for the act of blocking the hook so the prompt could not appear.

since blocking the prompt itself is no longer possible, the term face camping is no longer used by those who knew what it actually was.

And is instead used by people who understand that language is fluid and understand that the meaning has changed to represent the closest version of the act of rwhoch it was coined.

You've seen killers position themselves in such a way that the "Unhook" interaction does not pop up?

As close to that strict “I need to be right” definition as you have as possible. Standing right in front of the hook and not moving till the person is sacrificed.

    @Orion said:

Like all definitions in all languages, it was community consensus.

Which can change when the ability to what it used to be used for is no longer strictly possible. And like all words, their meanings can change with the times.

Facecamping is not a thing anymore.

I’ve been seeing it a few times in red ranks lately.

  • One change I would like to see is requiring at least three generators complete before the hatch spawns, and make it so that the hatch doesn’t open if an exit gate is opened.

Even when gates are opened you have Survivors hanging around and dragging games out just to find the hatch.

  • I’m new but from most played to least are:

    Freddy

    Amanda

    Doctor

    Trapper

    Legion

I have also used their BP to level Leatherface, Myers, Nurse, Hag and Clown to 40 for their perks.

  • @Orion said:

I don't want a killer from a failed game in DbD. The devs might get sued just like the F13th devs.

They can’t get sued if they have the license to use him.

    And it’s Voorhees.

  • I am a Freddy main when I’m a killer and there three things I think would make him more viable/dangerous. These wouldn’t have to all be implimented. Just one of them would help him out, but adding any of them would be a decent QoL for him.

    1. During a transition, Survivors are being transferred between realms, and therefore cannot vault or use pallets during the transition phase.
    2. Just like survivors cannot see Freddy when they’re not in the dream world, Survivors in the dream world cannot see other survivors (or their auras) that are outside of the dream world, butbthey can hear them and see their scratch marks.
    3. Survivors cannot exit the escape gates or hatch while in the dream world. This is Freddy’s realm and he wouldn’t put in an exit.

    I’m mostly a fan of 2 or 3 myself.

2 would keep players in the dream world longer by preventing them from simply running to an ally to be woken up, this giving a decent balance to Freddy having the transition period before he can even touch you.

3 would help Freddy’s end game end dissuade Survivors from trying to prolong the game by farming points, rescuing other survivors, or dragging the game out hunting for the hatch.

I would disagree there. Myers is the only killer to this day that still creeps me out. I love turning around to see him just staring at me.

Beat me to it. Turning around after completing a generator just to find Myers staring at you... allowing you to think you were safe...

    Creepy man.

  • You’d never see another killer since every death meant a free escape for the survivors.

  • I can only check the forums from my phone and I have no issues scrolling through comments even with the pictures.

  • Hell yes I want crossplay! Especially with DBD coming to the Switch!

Just let me be able to access the same account across all platforms and I’m happy.

  • The image itself is harmless, but when there are many of it, the creepy atmosphere is created. So I'm speaking to all the legions here!

If a green icon disturbs you, you probably don’t need to be playing a game like DBD... just saying...

If nothing else, it means they’re creating the CORRECT atmosphere for this game.

  • I like to try and start my games with a positive “Let’s have some fun and do our best” regardless of the salt that follows later. This screenshot shows me and threee survivors waiting over half and hour for someone to join.
