hi again Shiny girl :) the point is... it is not the same having 4 slots and 15 perks (when DBD was born) than 4 slots and 51 (x3+)

If we talked about balance, the logic would be having 12+ slots today

is that much hard to understand? :=D

I don't think you understand your own point.

The game started by being balanced around survivors being able to bring 4 perks into the match.

The amount of perks available to bring in had nothing to do with the actual gameplay mechanics of how many perks were brought into a match.

15 or 51 total perks able to be used, the balance is still the same when you can still only bring 4. If you can't think of different builds after so long, that's not the Dev's fault. It's yours for being unable to make new builds with so many various perks.

  • Killer uses Ruin: Survivors complain that you used Ruin and they had to use more effort to do gens or use time to find Ruin.

Killer doesn't use Ruin: Survivors call you trash because they managed to get out after hitting the gens as fast as possible.

There's no winning when most killers require a solid way to slow down gen completion like Ruin. People may not want to admit it, but needing Ruin for most killers to balance out the speed that survivors can push gens is a problem. A single perk should not be required to balance out the power difference (when even then survivors have far more power in the game than the killer).

I don't know who Carea is.

  • The Trickster (As always, ability and perk numbers are presented in tier 1/2/3 order.)

This is one I made. I thought it was pretty interesting idea.

  • @HatCreature said:

So what do you mean exactly but perma unlocking?

Are you saying that if I Prestige my Plague to 1 then her perk Corrupt Intervention just appears in the perk list of all my Killers? If it just appears in the BW then nothing has changed.

No no. It would appear as already unlocked on all other killer's perks as if they came with them to begin with.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Even though you addressed it, it doesn't matter. The same perks would be banned every time. That's not fun. And the killer has way too many bans the way this is set up. PLUS survivors can't pick the same perks? There simply are not enough decent perks to justify all these restrictions.

A draft mode concept is cool, and I'd even be down with a couple bans (if you couldn't then ban those perks in your next match), but as designed right now I wouldn't play this.

I disagree. The same perks wouldn't be banned every time because:

    1: Metas change

2: Perks change (especially in DBD)

3: The Killer's number of bans is actually less than is should be. A Killer gets 8 total bans while survivors get 16 total perks. Survivors get 4 bans and a Killer gets 4 perks. If we wanted things to be equal, the killer should get 16 bans. Instead, the Killer gets 8.

With only 8 bans, the Killer cannot ban every "decent" perk before Survivors choose most of them (because they still get to pick perks between his bans and during character draft) while the Survivors CAN ban most "decent" perks before the Killer can choose them (because they get to choose 2 before the killer has chosen their Killer AND before the Killer gets to choose their second perk). It looks like the Killer has an advantage here, but it's still actually pretty balanced in the Survivor's favor (this is also why I toyed with the idea of giving the killer 20 points to spend in the Load-Out Phase in order to balance out that survivor advantage).

4: Survivors can't pick the same perks because this forces players to create and optimize different builds instead all trying to create the top 4 builds (we'll say 4 since there are 4 survivors) and using those. Instead, it promotes build diversity and creativity all while still being able to be affected by a Killer's ban choices.

These new builds will create new Metas which will create new ban choices. And the cycles repeats itself as new ban choices creates new builds which creates new Metas which creates new bans..... etc etc etc.

There's a lot more to this than looking at the surface and judging it based on just how the game plays now. People would start out using their current game knowledge to try and draft/ban, but the fact that new builds and synergies would come from the perks picked in a Draft Mode means that the most "decent" perks would eventually become available again (or still chosen because the Killer can't ban them all) as Metas change.

  • Before I begin, let me say that this is just an idea but I think it could end up being fun, and allow for different uses of perks beyond the standard meta.

    @Daniel101773 said:

A ban system in this game is pointless. It would go the same way EVERY time. Survivors would ban Ruin, killers would ban Self-Care. There would be no deviation from this unless they wanted a hilarious disadvantage.

It's almost like I addressed that in the very first thing I wrote. Weird, huh? Really productive comments so far!

That's why smart developers also include a "mute all" functionality, everyone knows how annoying the voice of randoms can br

So after playing a completely different style game which is built around communicating with those you play with, you want it in a game built around not being able to communicate with the people you play with.

    Sounds logical...

  • You as the killer start the game. You move with practices expertise. You know where the survivors will be. You hear the waking clicks of a fresh generator trying to sputter to life. You turn the corner, swing your weapon and blood geysers everywhere.

The Survivors scatters like cockroaches in the light but not without the ear piercing howl of “Oh my gawwwwwd! Why do they always hit me first! This is dumb!”

”Ha ha! You got hit first again!”

”Just run and we’ll all go do another generator.”

”If he hooks me I’m DCing so he can’t rank up.”

    ”Lawl! You salty bruh!”

    Dead By Daight.

    Experience the horror.

Bruh the end game chat is where keyboard warriors come to shine. I can't imagine how much people gonna yell at each other during the match.

Exactly. Best to leave to their end game screw battlefield then have them in your ear the entire game.

Thanks bro but u cant simply realize how cool would be whispering in distance-based chat to other surv, and the killer more far couldn't listen.

That interactivity will come in the next 5yrs since increases how scary is the game, and just to adapt to the gaming trends, wanna bet? Ofc u can always disable/mute

Except what normally happens is a solo player is forced to listen to some moron’s music blaring, people close to their mic talking, some sweaty mouth breathing, them mashing buttons, and the occasional ‘hello?’ in the vain hope that someone else is actually using the feature.

Third party software is there for people in SWF groups who want it. No need to force it on people who don’t want it while playing a game that isn’t build around team communication.

  • Voice comms would kill this game with me. There’s nothing more immersion breaking or distractions g than having to listen to people you don’t know, their music in the background, anyone within range of their mic talking to loud, etc.

  • I play solo survivor because I don’t have friends on the PS4 that play DBD. I find it to be a lot of fun.

Sure, you get the occasional unlucky game where the killer finds you first and focuses you down. But most of the time I find that I’m able to do pretty well on my own, and that only being able to rely on myself or my limited communication abilities with other survivors has made me better at the game.

  • Slug the 3rd and hook the 4th.

Unless the forth bends the knee. Kneel before me and accept your fate. I’ll carry you to where you need to be then I’ll hook the third and allow you to escape.

But don’t you dare wiggle... my mercy has limits.

  • That’s why I patrol randomly. Indon’t Wandering the same direction, constantmy hoping to come across them because of superior speed.

Ise your speed to your advantage and bounce around the map. They expect a methodical search. So just pretend you’re the old windows screensaver icon and bounce from edge to edge while cutting through the middle. You’ll hit your target faster.

I keep seeing people say this but I also watch the community go fanboy over things like a pizza delivery skin, valentine’s skins, Santa skins, etc.

  • And now some pictures from the con. The kids had lots of people taking pictures with them. They also managed to scare some guy shitless when he opened a door they were about to walk through. Fun times!

  • 4% chance each attempt.

  • The hatch should only appear if:

    1. 3 Gens have been completed
    2. Only 1 Survivor is left (should not even appear before this)

    The hatch should disappear if:

    1. All generators have been completed (once this happens it should be a race for the exit, not a stall for extra hatch points)

If a player uses the hatch to escape they:

    1. Recieve less points for a regular escape.
    2. Recieve fewer points over time than the max they could get for a hatch escape. Start points for a hatch around 2,000 then subtract 50 points every 10 seconds and allow it to go negative. This is a race for an escape, not a stealth portion to draw out a game that you’ve already lost.
  • I’d like to see one of two things happen with her:

    1. Remove the the heal from the fountain.
    2. Allow her to leave all the fountains corrupted without them auto cleansing.

Cleansing at a fountain removed the sickness and thus her ability to one-hit you. Fully healing AND cleansing at the fountain forces her to tunnel (which no one likes).

If you allow her to leave fountains corrupted without them auto cleansing, you’re giving her to option to trade damage at range for map pressure by forcing the survivors to play around the infection more.

Either of these changes would put her in a solid place in my opinion.

So if we got the Joker as a killer does that mean we could get Batman as a survivor? 😍

I would bet Jim Gordon or maybe Pre-Batgirl Barbara Gordon.

    You can’t beat Batman.

There are plenty of awesome licensed killers available that would easily fit into DBD! All with different abilities and themes that could make for fantastic gameplay!

  • I mean, I guess if you want to be a giant spotlight the Claudette one is perfect for that.

I'd love to see that the Plague can leave all fountains corrupted and prepare for an easier end-game. Right now, when all fountains are corrupted, they all cleanse themselves..

This was what I was hoping for. She should be able to choose to enhance her Purge or trade the enhancement for the ability to keep the survivors broken.

I think that’s a fine balance when considering that survivors fully heal when using the fountains.

  • Well, apparently the kids weren’t exactly happy the just them dressing up. Sooooooo.... I’ll be going as Michael Myers and my wife will be going as Huntress.

Luckily (depending on your perspective of course) we live where hurricane Michael made landfall... so there are plenty of places around that sell work jumpers right now.

So! I though a simple bloodline/spatter would be good for Michael’s mask.

How often are lockers in the immediate path of your hook? Less often than pallets. And people dont riot about pallet saves happening. It also requires a perk slot.

It's less useful than in game mechanics without perks. But I still like its application potential.

It requires ZERO perk slots. We’re talking about the mind game you can put into play just by getting into the locker and making the killer have to make the choice of gambling that you do or don’t have the perk, or moving to a different hook.

Hence the thread title. A perk you don’t equip.

It’s like Dead Hard. You have to compensate your chase just in case the survivor has it.

Now you have to compensate your travel path while holding a survivor in case someone jumping into a locker that’s along the way.

It doesn’t have to be a constant mind game that will come up in every game. The fact that you can use it in the right situations is what matters. And if it spooks a killer away just long enough for your fellow survivor wiggle free, it’s the greatest perk that you ever use.

  • I’m not sure why they would try to hide in lockers. It’s 30 seconds before the crows start to tell your location. Once that happens you basically have two choices: stay in the locker and get grabbed, or run while the crows still give away your location.

  • @Bongbingbing said:

I mean you'd probably be smarter to hide while they are being hooked, at least then the killer might not find you. If you don't have Head On then your going to be hit or grabbed from the locker since you gave away your location.

How are they going to grab you when they already have someone? >.> Unless they take the time to drop their current captive and then go for you (which will give the time you need for Head On to activate)?

  • I’m getting this feeling no one actually read the entire thing because the entire premise of the post is to use the threat of the perk.... when the killer ALREADY has someone and is moving in the direction of a hook where they have to pass by a locker.

  • @Mr_K said:

If the killer can see you jump in, most likely they have time to pull you out before it activates.

    Re-read slowly....

  • Dude, it’s just an ornate chain mace without the handle. And the sheer size of the person wielding should tell you about the power behind the swing of that thing.

It’s a nice, simple, brutal weapon.

  • As promised (though delayed). The inside of the Trapper mask. Pieces cut out of the remains of the mouth, cut into shapes for teeth and hot glued to the inside of the mask to give the illusion of layered depth.

    B93689A7-6EEF-4D4E-8679-12C61BFBDA38.jpeg

The pad at the top of the mouth is a few fingers from a work glove and wrapped in a thin layer of bubble wrap. My son had worn it for a while and that keeps it comfortabl where all that pressure would be.

The back parts of the mask are made the same way as the mask itself and linked with paracord. The frayed bits at the knots will be burned down with a lighter to clean it up.

You mean like plugging rank 1 survivors with rank 15 killers the way they have it now? Because that’s super fun for that killer.

Well here's the thing, survivors can rush generators while sick and they don't have ti cure themselves so they also get the benefit of denying her Corrupted Purge.

From what I’ve been seeing, people are saying that she doesn’t need Corrupted Purge to down you with her power. She just needs enough applications of it.
