  • First of all nice Titel.

Second I am a killer main but hell would I love to play survivor if I could ghost around the map after my death maybe latch onto the killer to. Impere his movement or make him slightly wiggle from left to right so he might miss a hit or you can give the other survivors short vusial warnings when they work on a Gen that the killer is coming

I’m never have and never will be a killer main. I’ve always been a survivor main since I’ve started this game. I go so far as to role play when I’m in a trial.

There are plenty of things survivors can do to get better. First they can have situational awareness and pay attention to their surroundings so they don’t get caught in a dead zone. They can learn how to loop efficiently and chain tiles together. They can learn how to break LOS and evade the killer and they can use one, if not more, of their second chance perks that can reset a chase.

If a survivor goes gets hooked before two gens are done, that’s on them and their teammates. The game provides plenty of things that you can use to waste the killers time. Heck, I’m terrible at looping and prefer stealth yet, I’m able to buy enough time at the start of the match to get two gens done just by running across the map, away from my teammates. and pre dropping a couple of pallets.

Barring all that, your teammates can actually come in and take aggro by blinding the killer and make scratch marks in order for you to get away. They can also body block and sabotage hooks to prevent kills.

This isn’t a 1vs1 game. The killer should always have the advantage against a lone survivor, and just because tunneling and camping may seem like the “easy” choice, it’s only as easy as the survivors allow them to be.

But you said if someone is upset because of tunneling and camping they do it cause they are bad. Even if face the top tier survivors I get atleast one down doesn't matter if it takes one or four gens and when I have you on the hook and decide to face camp you are screwed and there is nothing you can get better at to prevent it or do you really want to say survs just need to advance to a level where they don't ever go down

It’s not toxic to tunnel or camp, only whiny crybaby survivor mains complain about it because they’re just bad at this game.

This forum is riddled with crybaby survivors who can’t handle loss and have to blame their opponents for their own shortcomings.

Oke so from killer main to killer main tell me our honest opinion what can a survivor do to "get better" if you want them dead sooner or later you will catch the survivor and if you the face camp and tunnel of hook there is no getting better. And I don't say there aren't situations where tunneling or even camping isn't a OK tactic and justified

  • Why are we even discussing this we have some stuff that has validation of the serve so everything should have it. I don't see whythe game should treat some interaction different from others.

And I don't say that to provoke or anything I just don't see why. If anyone could explain to. Me why its good or fair that just some interactions get validation I would like to learn

if you see a killer with 0 kills before egc, he has noed 99% of times. This perk brings killers to play with people much much better than them. And then they come here crying because this game is not balanced. Worst designed perk in the entire game

Not worst designed perk in the world but worst designed sbmm in the world if I don't get any hooks all game and then snowball with noed no way out into blood warden it's a legit playstyle but if I do this my mmr just shoots trough the roof after a couple of games cause all that counts are kills and that is stupid everything a play is doing should point to your mmr did you lost every chase with no downs did you just camped a hook all game well your mmr isn't rising buddy.

but did you had a full game aka you lost some chases you won some you got one or two kills you defendet the gens got trick a few time by survs with flashlite safes and all and come out with a 3k or a 2k then your mmr should rise a bit. Same goes for survs i sbmm where like this you would have people slowly but steady rising in mmr and they have a chance to actually get better at the same time and improve on there skills.

Atm you sbmm sucks I can have a few games where I get survs that are obviously new or just not that good and I go out of 5 or 6 games with a 4k or 3k and then sbmm thinks wow that guy is a God and I get 4k hour survs that are simply better then me but I get stuck there cause you get your one or two kills in that games sweating like hell wich is no fun but I need like 30 games where I let every one escape to lower my mmr again to a point I have fair games everyone can enjoy

  • Sadly most ttvs faced where a bunch of mean survs that always try to do some face flashlight saves and follow me around to Sabo all game wich in itself isn't mean but in endgame chat it doesn't matter if they win or lose they talk #########.

But one of the nicest interactions I had was with a nurse one of the rare time I played survivor and she was just learning this hard to learn killer and we all had fun and even talked for a while in her chat. And my most favorite interaction ever was just as the winter event startet my first round and all I wanted was to chill with the survs and give everyone a cosmetic and these guys where just vibing with me it was nearly half an hour long game but it was a blast I got into her chat while we where at it and it was just wonderfull

  • @HexDevourAvocado said:

@Starrseed I agree.I am not asking to win every game. All I am asking is to get into games, and not being scared that I will die on 1st hook after all gens are done.I need to use deliverance,ds and all the tryhard build that hopefully will get me through the game.

As a DBD a player that has a good knowledge of the game so far,I love trying new builds....

But I can not anymore. If I do and get hooked with these builds,I am not sure if anyone will come to save me.I am scared that after a 6 minute chase,no gens will be done, and noone will save me.

I feel this video explains a lot https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOPkrWVxCTk

The worst is survivors and killer need to run these high meta try hard perks to some what enjoy the game but most of these perks are locked behind money or a abysmal grind I don't want to know how long it would take to buy every killer to get the meta perks with shards plus grinding all there blood webs and while u are at it you don't have these perks so you suffer

Edit: just watched the vid and yes that guy explains it really good it was from before mmr hit us and it's like this guy had a vision of the furtur because all he said came true

  • Killers I don't see very often:

    Hag

    Freddy

    Blight

Killers I literally have seen one time:

    Pinhead

Twins no joke I saw them once after they came out and never again

  • The worst thing is sometimes I get kinda scared cause the red stuff can activate on its own and them you suddenly have this loud whispering

  • Okey I try to say that without provoking anyone but maybe this forum seems to be a killer forum because aside from camping and tunneling survs don't have that much to complain but killers do

  • @dugman said:

Mandy is a dev and they post all the time. I also saw a dev post from a dev a week or two ago saying he was considering removing the opponent’s grades from the endgame screen because a lot of people were confusing them with the MMR and asking for feedback. The overwhelming reply was go ahead and hide opponent Grades since they’re irrelevant to matchmaking. Hopefully they’re following through on it but we’ll see. 🤷‍♂️

I saw that about the gad es to let's see if something happens but you can have fifty devs commenting on every post here but if nothing happens it's worthless

I think that is inevitable. Nothing last forever. So many long term players are leaving or have left.

I've always stated, that player retention is not their goal. Or else they would balance for more experienced players. Their main concern seems to be bringing in new players and revenue, which from a business standpoint is probably correct.

Attract new players, hope they stay a year and buy some skins and DLC, rinse and repeat until it all drys up.

I mean, they already said, if we don't like it, we could go play Civ 5, can't argue with that.

Yeah the civ 5 statement was probably the worst thing I ever heard from a dev cause all it says is we are to lazy or ignorant to work. On our game just leave us alone

  • @Killing_Time said:

They read the forums, but if they truly cared... Nurse would be fixed by now. It's been 3+ years.

No I'm not attacking the devs.

That has nothing to so with attacking. Voicing your concerns about a game you like is the right thing

But when so many people say something over and over again like the old moris then I think there is some truth to it.

what about survivors complaining about camping or tunneling or Noed?

and to clarify again: i didn’t say some things need that much time. But the devs take (too much) time on many things. Some things should be addressed quicker (as CoH). I am not defending their slowness.

Tunneling and camping should also be addressed asap you are right

  • Well where do you think they got the inspiration

I'd find it pretty interesting if it weren't just a crazy WW2 super soldier and instead someone who survived the war, but went crazy because of the trauma

OH yeah sure that would be interesting to my brain just jump right on the conspiracy supernatural train real quick

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2702004#Comment_2702004

Do they need to act though?

because maybe the state of killer is not as bad as the whiners try to make it out to be.

(just to be clear, I personally do think killer atm isn’t fun at all)

we are missing the greater picture here. Actual statistics for example (not only those the devs have decided to show us, those are just the top of the iceberg).

and the devs are actually incorporating feedback from both sides. They just need very very long time for it (see OoO, DS, key/hatch mechanics, EGC for examples)

But when so many people say something over and over again like the old moris then I think there is some truth to it.

And I know some changes need time but just look at the forum and at the game data and see for example coh is picked often and many forum users say its to strong there isn't much you need to change just tweak the numbers that should be a quick thing and then just do it every two weeks till it feels balanced enough

  • @Rizzo said:

Some Devs do read the forums, but keep in mind they do it in their free time, as this is not their job, they have their role and the feedback is gathered by the community team, being us the main interaction between the team and the playerbase.

Also as someone mentioned already, this is not the only place where we get feedback, there's multiple outlets for that.

And just to be pedantic, you do have a Dev that interacts here constantly, which is Mandy.

To be fair you are right like some one else said it's of course not the Devs job to read the forum.

But even if you guys have a team that funnels oire opinion to the Devs and you have devs that actually read the forum why does it feel it. Don't matter to use our voice cause nothing happens is there a good reason why we don't get balance patches on the regular or why simply bustet stuff isn't shut down I mean you have that fancy kills witch afterall

  • @Clevite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2701996#Comment_2701996

Agreed, they aren't worried about our feedback.

It's their baby and they will do as they please

Yep and many devs are like that and that is a big problem. Sure it's there baby and the should ultimately make the decision about the general way and feel but if they just ignore what every player says about bad and unbalanced game play sooner or later they will have a dead baby

  • @Mooks said:

The mods are mostly gathering and forwarding feedback, devs rarely interact with the forums in their free time.

keep in mind the forums are not the only place for feedback. Also there is almost always contradicting feedback on every matter.

OH yeah you are right the mods are for that sure.

And yes there is contradicting feedback but when you see something like the state of the killers atm or how useless most perks are they just need to act

  • @Impartiality said:

The less they read on this forum, the better for this game

No in a healthy game the Devs should react to what the players think that doesn't mean they should act every time someone makes a cry post

  • @Clevite said:

    Why would they?

We basically have the same 10 threads on rotation.

Anyone want to discuss noed or boons?

    Again?

And why is that cause nothing happens

  • Sure gens are one reason why killer lose so much but overpowered perks and an overall bad map designe counts in it as well and you really want to make that even worse.

Yes the killer you mentioned makes looping harder but that's intentional cause there powers are anti loop oriented and all of them have cointerplay to some extent. And we shouldn't forget the many other killers that don't have such powers so making loops even stronger would make them even more useless so you simply have to drop chase when the surv enters a good loop

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

I want a Romanian Vampire to come into the game, or a German WW2 Soldier. Those would be fun additions imo

Would love a German soldier there are so many rumors and myth out there about what happens in the last months of the war cause Hitler had an whole ocult organization and scientists trying to actually achieve something like a super soldier that could be cool plus Americans just love to turn ww2 Germans into monsters anyway :D

  • @jokere98 said:

so that's how i get stunned by a survivor, who was behind me, when i was blocking a pallet from him, while picking up other surv, and yet he appeared in front of me and dropped a pallet...

Yep I think it's only possible while the killer is doing some kind of animation so you can't just plow right tough them to get to better loop but the combination of the DH animation and a killer animation is to much for dbd

  • @Grimzy said:

I would say No, if we had a gate regression perk it would be so easy to hold the game hostage. Gates are fine as they are. Matches shouldnt take forever. It wouldnt make anything more interesting nore create pressure, all it would do is add more hostility to the game.

s for the borrows time saves....in most cases that is usually the killers fault. Had plenty of matches where killers easily dealt with said borrowed time saves, so its all a matter of how you play your cards. You arent guaranteed any kills and you certainly shouldnt be getting them for free.

But it's not for free it's for running a perk all game that only helps in endgame. And sometimes it feels like they survs get the escape for free cause they 99 the gate and run with two or three at the hook and have bt no chance to hinder them doing it and that even works in soloq if you don't play with totally stipud guys

  • @Munqaxus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2700767#Comment_2700767

If they were facecamped to death, they are entirely justified in complaining. They were literally prevented from playing a game they bought. Honestly, I'm surprised facecamping isn't the major focus for the developers. It's the biggest game design flaw and has been in the game since the inception of the game.

I believe face camping is a major focus for them but they don't know how to prevent it without screwing over even the killers that have a legit reason to camp be it end game and you literally have nothing els to do or be it survs looping you around the hook so some kind of machanic gets triggert.

With every mechanic you try to make to prevent camping you need to make sure it can't get abused

  • Yeah that works DH is some kind of magic stuff that let you do all kinds of strange things I saw in a couple of videos and even experienced myself that you can DH through the killer while he picks some one up and then turn to flashlite safe

  • In my mind the moment you put your ttv name in any game loby you have to deal with it i mean you do it so people can find you and that means also the wrong people can find you but it is how it is.

But don't get me wrong watching the stream to get an advantage is a ######### move but it's allowed and the amount of entitled streamers that rage and report either killer or survs (but I see it more often from survs) for stream sniping is hilarious there is no way you can ever prove that and there is no way bhvr could ever ba someone for that

  • @Smuk said:

As said. I want to try everything that is not meta. So im cleaning dust of everything.

So yes I am not defining as killer + perks + addons.

But saying that was as no “meme” loadouts. I still want to achieve victory.

So last game ended even faster.

    2 hooks = 3 gens

    On average 1gen per minute.

Some take downs are then again rng.

safe loop -> force pallet -> snowman free hit

So yes, snowman can be pain in the a..but it is still rng

So yeah killer mains, I would be delight, if you could experiment non meta, wipe dust of old killers and perks and share your experience

edit: maybe bhvr can get any useful feedback from this experience that will help to evolve our game.

Let this topic keep an academic approach.

No problem every game I play I use non meta perks because I don't have them my wallet isn't big enough to run all the meta perks

A camped and tunneled, salty Survivor contains a lot of emotion, which in turn means a lot of food for The Entity

OH wow never thought about this so tunneling and camping is lore wise the only legitimate playstyle

  • What op means is don't gate it behind a pay wall

  • @GannTM said:

You reveal that Spirit’s inspiration is coming to DBD and probably will pull a Billy with Spirit soon to make everyone buy the ring girl with money over saving shards for an original. Spirit will always be better so don’t do anything to her BHVR or I’m probably quitting the game. I almost quit when NFTs happened but Spirit was the only thing keeping me from leaving.

Also, it’s been only two weeks since Artist came out and let’s just forget all about her like that and reveal the next chapter that probably won’t come out for another 3 months. How about you instead give Artist some love with cosmetics because she only has 3?

Rin and Carmina don’t deserve any of this!

I alway thought sprirts inspiration was just Japanese folklore and to an extent the the grudge franchise not the the ring franchise

I agree, BT should have a longer timer, but deactivate if the survivor stops running (to take a protection hit).

I think what I said is the whole theme around camping and tunneling it's incredible hard to do something against it without pulling every killer down with it even if they don't tunnel or camp

  • The problem is buffing ds to counter tunneling sounds good and like the right things to do in the first place but you are not only going to hurt tunnelers that tunnel from first hook.

Sometimes there is a good reason to tunnel let's say I am legion and I don't run noed. One surv is dead and you just got on your second hook at the same time the gates get powered. So when the other two healthy survs 99 the gate and just brainless run into me there is nothing I can do to prevent them from unhooking you and even if I manage to get you trough probably bt and atleast one bodyblock I can't hook you cause second ds no matter what I do that just doesn't sound fair cause there are a whole lot of killers that don't have bubbas multi instadown that would suffer hard from this

  • @Jejune said:

Maybe they should award more points to killers that only camp and tunnel. This would create surplus of blood points which would probably fix the problem

As ######### as face camping and hard tunneling may be the game and it's balance should not revolve around it the devs need to find a way to prevent it but 99% of surv that say do this or that would just punish killers that play normal and the guys that want to camp will do it no matter what even if they need to pay BP for it

  • Not the worst idea they just need to make sure you cNt abuse it and as a killer I would wish for a button to suck survs out of the gate so I don't have to wait for the whole endgame timer to run out befor they leave and no I won't go there to see there little dance party and to be clear I mean only if all living survs are inside the gate area so no abusing

That's not how that works. They've already stated that even if you are horrible at killer you wouldn't go against brand new survivors. unless you're brand new, your mmr wouldn't be zero because they're aware of killers having some game sense of the map and the objective after a period of game time. The same applies to just horrible survivors, their mmr will never be zero, they will never go against killers who are brand new.

If you're going against someone with 6000 hours you're either really good or they're just really bad.

Either way, a player's skill is invisible with the mmr system. Ranks is more or less a a new blood point system now, going to red gives 250K BP. Once you get to a new rank color, you can't go back to the previous rank color, no matter how many loses. Once you're rank 1 red, you can't go backwards, ranks are not an indication of skill just an indication of time played for the month.

This appears to be a difficult concept for people.

Okey but let us just put mmr and ranks and what is important aside. Do you think it is fair in any way or Form for a new player to face 49 rounds back to back survs they just can't win against there is a major flaw in the match making. We have not enough killer so especially swf with good win rates need to wait some time and after enough time the matchmaking goes like here take this killer and stomp hin to death atleast you got a game right

  • For killers it would be nice to don't rise like a fkn rocket in mmr you have two or three games that are good and I don't talk about 4k stomp and then your mmr says: well time to face the 3k+ hour survs for the next 20 games cause you rise like a rocket but fall like a helium ballon

The Wraith - Wailing bell: Movement speed while uncloaking was reduced from 1.6m/s to 1.5m/s and the speed boost after uncloaking is reduced from 6.9m/s to 6.6 m/s.

The Shape - Evil Within: Increased the amount of stalk points required for the evil capacity to reach to the next tier.

The Spirit - Yamaoka's Haunting: Takes 1.5 seconds to reappear after phase-walking.

Corrupted intervention: Reduced generator block duration from 80/100/120 seconds to 60/80/100 seconds.

Hex: Pentimento: Reduced Repair, Healing, Recovery and Gate opening speeds was reduced from 20/25/30% to 15/20/25%.

The noed is fine as it is you can prevent it from even activating in the first place plus survs already have enough perks to find totems.

Wraith is fine as he is I think.

Since showstopper only activates when. You actually hit survs he would get hurt from hitting survs instead of getting rewarded.

Gens are to fast anyway if anything corrupt should be longer or block one additional Gen.

Pentimento is hard to even use atm cause of the boon meta no one actually cleanses totems so you often don't get to use it

The whole point of the idea is that it would not be easy to do and give survivors another means to escape. It could make matches last longer and give something for the killers to be worried about too.

But then you rip dbd out of its whole theme. We are in that otherworldly realm where the rules of our world don't count the entity don't want you to fight more then you already can otherwise characters like Leon Jill and Chris that would just demolish every killer. The whole theme of Dbd is that the survivors can only run or die and even death is no escape

  • The problem is DH is a get out of jail free card for survivors. People complain every time that perks like noed are cheap and you just need to get better so you don't need it and that might be true but I work on my skills to be a better player get petter at chases and mindgames and then DH comes and takes my efforts.

I would say I'm not the best player I just have roughly 150 hours or so cause rl is a thing but I try to work to get better and atm 8 out 10 times I actually manage to win the mind game and could normally down the survivor like I should DH saves the day my hit goes into thin air and the survivor can likely reach the next loop cause I am slowed for the missed hit that just seems not fair. People in this forum often say the player with more skill should win but in this situation skill doesn't matter

  • @KateMain86 said:

Before they do anything new with killer moris they should first allow survivors to kill the killer as well. The fact this isn't already a thing in the game is a bit ridiculous. If the killer can win the match by killing all of us then we should be able to escape for killing the killer. Its also usually how horror stories end anyway where the survivors end up killing the bad guy except if it was a thing in DBD then conditions would need to be met of course before this could happen. I've always been of the opinion that moris are just a toxic thing killers can use to further troll and harass survivors and would prefer they weren't in the game to begin with. I know why it makes sense they are there but to me it just seems like a very bully thing to do. Since they are in the game, make it fair for both sides. Allow survivors to kill the killer. That would make the game a lot more interesting for me.

But isn't that what makes bdb different from games like evolve or Friday13 wich both by the way don't exist anymore. The survivors only can try to escape and the killer is this powerful monster that you can only slow down but never stop I think that's an integral part of Dbd.

The VHS game that is coming out has that two and even my wife who is a total survivor main that only played killer in the tutorial was immediately Nah that sucks when she saw you can kill the monster in VHS.

And about the mori I to think the should work on them I even heard the want to delet the offerings and make it so you earn the mori in the round and I think moris are oke like they are right know cause when the killer can mori you you are at death hook anyway so moris are some kind of counter to flashlights and Sabo bodyblock

  • Killers already take a less BP when they camp that is a thing killers that want to camp from first hook just don't care. That is even a kinda hard thing thing cause in the endgame with open gates there is virtually nothing to do except ensuring that one surv I have on a hook stays there and I lose BP for that but that's another matter.

I think behvr gives killer more BP by default cause of the match up 4 survs=16perks plus 4 items against 4 perks and two add-ons and the only reason why the get mor BP with 4 to 5 hooks while camping you is cause hooking and hitting is there objective hanging on a hook isn't yours if you know what I mean

Nope. You pretty much made it very clear you don't know what the hell you're talking about. Pallets are just about the only thing casual survivor mains have to buy them mere seconds. Most survivors aren't pro loopers who can run killers forever and are just trying to have fun in a scary game. What sucks is the scariest part of the game now are toxic killers.

Dear Katemain why do we have to do that every time you always stand behind the most obscure stuff that would boost survs even more and you would probably like the killers to start the game 3min later and leave there perks and abilities at home

Well it’s a balancing act, you want close matchups but there’s only so many high rank killers and high rank survivors available in the player pool at a given moment, plus you need four survivors for every killer, so there’s bound to be a lot of times there aren’t close pairings available for a while. I suspect this is part of the reason why in general, allegedly, the survivor queues tend to be longer than killer queues. But you can’t have players waiting forever for a match or they’ll just stop playing altogether. At some point it needs to bite the bullet and say “you’ve waited long enough, I give up trying to find a good match, here’s an immediately available match up instead”.

I don’t know what the time cut off actually is that the matchmaking is using, so maybe it could stand to be tweaked to wait a little longer? Or maybe making it take longer would mean too many matches taking so long that people quit before getting a match? I imagine it’s a tricky thing to tweak right,

I totally understand but by giving very unfair matchups like a team all 3k+ hours against me with 150h will also drive players out

I don’t recall the devs ever saying MMR isn’t working. In fact I think I remember them saying it’s statistically producing better matches than the old system.

The only comment I’ve seen from them about mismatches was an explanation for why they can happen even though the ratings themselves are accurate. Basically mismatches can be caused by a couple of factors

    • People with outlier ratings might not have a good match at a given moment so don’t get a match right away. If they wait long enough the system has to eventually put them in the first available slot regardless of rating.
    • If a match is already forming, and a player quits out before it starts, that open slot gets filled ASAP so the remaining four players aren’t stuck waiting in that lobby a long time, which could result in a first available waiting player being inserted regardless of rating
    • High rated survivors often play with lower rated friends in swfs.

Even assuming the MMRs are 100% accurate the above factors still mean that you’ll get a lot of variance in ratings in individual matches, even though on average the ratings differences on the whole could be smaller than the skill differences under the old system. Also note that the players most affected by the above will tend to be the highest and lowest rated players, which includes prolific streamers. It’s quite possible that you might see more mismatches in a very high rated streamer’s channel than on an average player’s games

Okey the third point is kinda valid cuase there is not much that we can do about this but am I the only one that thinks you should never get matched with survivors that are sooo mich higher in mmr only so they don't need to wait longer?

All that does is pushing more killer out of the game and so the qs get longer for every one in a good balanced game you have enough players on every rank to quickly fill the games even if that means the top 50 only ever see the same players
