but why? they cannot be offended, respond or have any expression because of it. they have literly and metaphoricaly no mind!
For exactly that reason. I'm not offending anyone and might give a chuckle to a player if they see it.
I never t-bag actual players. Just zombies. If zombies were controlled by players i'd stop. It's not funny anymore then

I have t-bagged a zombie before and i will do it again
-
Pop goes the weasel.
While not bad it's kinda a winmore perk seeing how you need to get hooks for it to matter and having to go to a gen and kick it letting whoever was working on it gain massive distance.
It's incredible in the beginning but it really falls off against good survivors. It's a perk that i loved first but now i rarely run it

On the pig change, in order for this 80% chance thing, you need to have downed all 4 survivors, used all 4 bear traps, AND this all needs to happen with each previous Survivor not taking their trap off. It's impossible to go and body block a specific box whilst downing another 3 people, so in all likelihood, the first person (at least) takes their trap off, and you are not going to see this situation ever occurring.
Or you do what i said and equip her new iri addon

He did a 20 minute vid showcasing that the fans of the game knows what's best and would make much better changes then the devs would come on bro
Fans don't know what's best. They think they do. Writing a hypotetical patch that everyone would think is great without testing if it actually is good is not hard
2 issues i instantly saw when he read his patch.
Kindred basekit+ the rework. Survivors can now loop around a hooked survivor while having full aura reading on the killer and giving a boost for the other survivors if the killer decides to not give the hook for free. Sure doesn't sound great that the best play of killers would be to just let the survivor hook bomb you .
Pig's first box never having a key also is an issue with her new iri. If that was implented and pig bodyblocked a box then their is a 81% chance at least one survivor can't get their trap off. Slightly less then 25% that 2 survivors can
Coming up with ideas for a good patch is the easy part. But there is a lot of moving parts in the game and "fans who know best" rarely see all of them.
I have no doubt that if this patch actually came complaints would come after a few hours of playtesting
-
They aren't so bad.
Play Legion on a rank reset and it's pretty easy. I have achieved merciless in the past with every survivor escaping
-
Not all of the changes were good either. Good in theory but in practise would cause issues.
For example: Kindered basekit+ rework. A survivor can now run around a loop near a hooked survivor with full aura reading on the killer while the other 2 have increased gen speed. So forget about hooking in basements or any strong tile and actually being able to contest the hook.
Pig change: first box never having the key. bodyblock a box with her iri addon and each survivor has a 1/3 chance of dying. That's about 81% atleast one survivor can't get their trap off
Most changes do sound nice in theory but theory rarely is the same as practise. You can't say this is the best patch without being able to test it.
Won't be so fun if the loot money change means 75% of tiles are going to be LT walls for example.
Amazing meme by Scott but people are taking it a tad to serious again. Getting ideas for a patch is the first and easiest step. Actually implenting them without any unforseen issues cropping up is something else entirelly
-
The only killer that would have an effect close to this is Trickster when he randomly starts giggling.
Outside of that "roleplaying" with Myers but i wouldn't call that personality changing
-
Yes to both
-
Botany makes medkits which are already busted even stronger. Not Meta but very strong regardless.
Empathy is a meh to okay information perk but it's invalueable for "heal survivors for x healthstates" challenges that like to crop up. I would pick it up solely for that reason
-
They are all kinda bad tbh
The skillcheck perk is just a perk to help your friend who is new to the game. Not an actual perk powerwise
The boon is way to situational. The boon has to be up, the killer has to be slugging, you have to be in the area of the boon and you have to be downed outside of the killers hearing radius of the boon or it will just be snuffed. Going to make some good meme builds with soul guard and tenacity that people will see in a youtube video and cry overpowered without ever having faced it themself but overal survivors are just better of sticking with unbreakable.
Overcome blowns my mind that people think will be the next dead hard. IMO it's close to the worst exhaustion perk in the game. Everybody looks at the one video where the perk buys a load of time vs a powerless m1 killler but killers aren't quite that weak yet. Face a killer with any kind of instant down power/addon/perk and it can potentionaly make the perk never activate at all. Most people agree that not bringing an exhaustion perk is handicapping yourself so bringing one that might never be useable doesn't sound good at all.
Killers with movement abilities also drasticly reduce the effectiveness. A Legion will either go for someone else and chase you later when you are exhaustionperkless or they will easilly catch up with their 10 seconds duration sprint and then you have to loop without a panic button like dead hard. Same with Wraith. Blights and nurses will also rapidly close the distance you made with the perk.
When you start looking at Overcome realistically almost half the roster can reduce or completly negate the perks effectiveness. The only killers that really struggle against it are killers who are strugling regardless. Survivors are not going to bring a perk to counter weaker killers they are going to bring dead hard which is good no matter what killer you face.
And the biggest nail in the coffin of Overcome is that it does nothing when you are unhooked. With sprint burst or Dead Hard you have a fighting chance against a tunneling of hook killer. Overcome does nothing. Those 8 or so seconds longer it took the killer to catch up really don't sound to good when you start concidering the negatives about the perk.

Ah, right, so the effect's similar but the reasoning is different. If people can't find a close game (probably happens a lot), it's defaulting to a soft cap that's almost comically low
Bassicly yeah.
What probably happened is the first 2 death squad matches were people close to op's actual mmr and then the game didn't find any and defaulted to the 1900's
That or the op is around the 1900 and the death squad defaulted to them. And they got unlucky for it happining twice in a row

Can't wait for VHS tbh, dbd is old and very dated now, with greedy clueless devs, VHS got more steam wishlists than dbds peak players record, thats kinda telling of what people really think about this dump
If VHS didn't have more wishlisted then dbd had players playing in a single moment in time on a single platform it would be really worrysome
-
@RainehDaze said:
Lack of MMR nuance? IIRC, MMR ranges up to 1900, and the starting point for a killer with 0 experience is 1200. So everything just keeps bouncing off the hardcap.
There isn't a hardcap
1900 is the softcap.
You can have 5000 mmr and the game will attempt to search people around that. After a certain time it gives up and searches the soft cap of 1900 to avoid scenario's where a really high mmr never finds matches.
In reality 1900 isn't even high mmr. You're the worst of the best when you reach that point
-
But killers are leaving leading to extremly short killer queues?
On a serious note I'm suspecting a matchmaking bug going around again.
My survivor queues this week have varried from 10+ minutes to instantly on the same time period.
Killer queues weren't as extreme but also noticable

Last point before I’m truly done- what keeps DbD on top besides no true competitors and their many licenses? Don’t worry I’ll wait…
let one, just ONE contender arise, which it absolutely will before long, and let that contender start accruing licenses of their own- well that will become a problem.
you ppl tunnel focus on the now to the point you don’t see the future. I do. And I bet the devs do as well. That’s my whole point.
when these contenders arise the new players will become less of a priority and the faithful players will finally get the attention they both deserve and have paid money for. DbD won’t go down without a fight.
I’m done for real with my commentary, you birds can cluck amongst yourselves if you want I’ll step back in within 18 months once I’m proven correct.
I'm almost tempted to put this post in my agenda a year from to actually see the results.
I would look forward to be proven wrong

No. They haven’t. Name one. You can’t bc no game has come even close. Now, however, they’re getting scarily close. DbD has gotta step it up or fade away. If you don’t see the very likelihood of a potential contender within 18 months you’re just not paying attention. It’s that simple and it’s all I’ll say on the matter.
I assure you DbD devs know this to be true. Watch what happens within a year to prove me, and several p who are paying attention, correct.
HsH, Last Year, Fridaythe13th, Hide or Die, Resident evil had one and was so forgetable i don't even remember the name, Predator also had an assymetrical 1v4, even Phasmaphobia was told it would kill dbd while not even being the same damn genre.
Short story there are always doomsayers. And they have never been right. Even if DbD gets a competitor. It won't change anything.
They will just co-exist. Most likely even have a large portion of their community playing both games.
-
They had competition for their entire 5 years. DbD was just better every time
Even if there was competition that succeeds, that doesn't mean DbD will die. Same as street fighter didn't die with tekken or mortal kombat. They will merely co-exist
I'm hoping VHS does well. Cause it really looks like a fun game with cool mechanics. Hoping VHS does well purelly so it might lead to DbD demise is just sad. Pathetic and sad.

If they're labeled as off topic, absolutely. There's nothing wrong with that, and merging should only happen if its the same exact post, mainly bug posts. Such a lame excuse to cover up wanting to keep that game's notability as minimal possible on here.
I don't think the devs really care. If they wanted to keep it hush hush this post would have been deleted.
DbD is a passion project. Always has been. That it's the most succesfull in the genre is just an added bonus to the devs. If another game becomes more succesfull they won't just stop working on it.
They really don't care if other simular games release. They most likely endorse it.
I can't imagine how small minded someone has to be to seriously believe the devs are shaking in their boots whenever another asymmetrical horror game comes out.
Believe me they don't care. And hopefully if VHS is a succes the games can co-exist peacefully. Hell maybe we'll even get a collaboration.
But if you hope DbD will die just because another game like it releases you're going to be dissapointed time and time again.
-
You know what the best part about it is?
Now you only need about 45 ish bloodwebs each chapter to keep your survivor up to date.
Unlike killers who if they play everyone need 5 times the number of killers + however long it takes to get everything on the new killer
-
Big changes pretty much only happen every month and a half or so nkt much has changed if there wasen't a patch in your break period.
A new chapter and patch releases the 30th november.
Killer perks are all around decent with one scourge hook perk that's pretty good.
Survivor perks are pretty bad. One is a perk to help new players.
The perk that supposely promotes the w meta only works when you go from healthy to injured. So insta downs completly negate it and it does nothing when you are being tunneled of hook. Severely overrated.
Final is a boon which bassicly is unbreakable on a stick. But the fact that it needs prep time, killer has to slug you and you need to be in the radius of the boon and the boon has to be outside of the hearing range of the killer means it's so situational survivors are better of just sticking with unbreakable.
Outside of that a couple of pinhead addon nerfs
-
Survivor queues were instant for me yesterday.
So either the horrible survivor queues were a matchmaking bug or the bloodhunt really reeled players back instantly
-
If you hate boons try toth, ruin, devour, undying.
Not the best build overall but if you hate boons this just shuts them down
if survivors still try to spend 56 seconds blessing a totem you get so much slowdown you should practically win on the spot
-

There's actually some skill involved in this technique.
What you want to do is also hold W. Now, I know, you think I'm crazy, but hear me out.
Using your superior skills as a killer, you will eventually catch up to their W. You may think this wastes a lot of time, you may think the gens might all be done by then, and you may even blame me for losing the game by following my simplistic advice. If you think this way, you'd probably be right.
But that's not the point. I'm only here to tell your options as a killer on how to handle this.
And the secret solution is by engaging in an intense battle of wits and skill by holding W yourself.
Real killers catch up with S.
Counteracts the W

I think that this is a really 'glass half empty' way of looking at it.
I see it as:
This game is more fun when killers are mostly playing against survivors close to their own skill levels.
Ranks essentially made the game more enjoyable for people at high MMR at the expense of everyone else. When you do a 100 game win streak, that's pretty awesome for you - not so awesome for the lowbies you've been steamrolling.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2659444#Comment_2659444
Mm. I'll give it a try when I get back in this evening before our Dungeons and Dragons game starts.
Vote up for being a fellow dnd enjoyer.
Let me know. Kinda curious if it's really like i think it is or if i'm just in a lucky region
Edit: Derp, ofcourse Blood Hunt. That would also explain better queues

That's...odd.
My experiences are exactly the opposite. Insanely long survivor queues (can easily get up to 10+ minutes on offpeak, around 2-5 minutes at peak) and very fast killer queues (60-90 seconds topside on offpeak, instant at peak).
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2659432#Comment_2659432
Yeah, I keep seeing this asserted but people vanish the second I ask for a source.
There was a (forbidden word) situation a bit back where someone posted a bunch of alleged 'info' on the MMR system, but a lot of it turned out to be marsh gas and so I think they were full of it.
Yeah it was the same with me for like a week or something. Insanely long survivor queues, instant killer
It just changed today.
Which makes me think it was a bug. Not the first time matchmaking bugs happen
-
So pretty much only have survivor challenges left so decided to play survivor for a bit.
Instantly noticed something. pretty much instant queues. I litterally didn't have the time to press alt-tab before i was in a lobby.
Played a killer game after that: 2 minute queue
So yeah the reasons for hating mmr are still valid but that killers are leaving the game on mass and thats what have been affecting the queue's seems to be pretty false to me.
Most likely a matchmaking bug rather then a shortage of players
-
Also important to note you can't block hooks while you have lost collision after being hit.
So if the killer hits you they can always hook through you
-
I got that first try, it's one of the easier challenges tbh.
Pro tip you don't need both downs in the same main event
-
I have to agree with you.
The game has problems and people are allowed to voice those problems. But there is a certain crowd that is way to melodramatic about it.
It especially grinds my gears when they start slinging terms like bullying or victim blaming.
Sorry but being beaten in a video game is not bullying. It doesn't matter how badly you were beaten and you aren't being victim blamed if people say that maybe the issue lies in your gameplay.
These are extremly serious terms and using them for something so petty is frankly insulting to those who were actually the victim of bullying or victimblaming
-
Lol yeah they activated the bloodhunt to pull back the couple of 100 players that actually got a key to the closed beta.
They must really be shaking in their boots
-
My theory is that the devs also were unaware of the nft situation and are now butchering him out of protest

Im really not trying to be rude but did you miss the part where I mentioned the console issues that have existed for years?
Also that's the thing they haven't fixed the issue but at least they were quick to acknowledge it and comment on it
Communication is key and they are doing great whereas we all know bhvr has been less then honest sometimes
I agree I hate people trying to use one game to ######### on another believe it or not but people can play and enjoy both personally I hope both games continue to thrive
All I'm saying is the devs of vhs can't have issues that have lasted years cause they haven't been around for years.
I just find that you are jumping a bit to fast on the vhs devs = good and dbd devs = bad when the vhs devs never even had a chance to mess up at all.
Pretty hard to have console issues for years when your game is a day in beta and isn't on console. DbD didn't have any console issues either when it was in beta
-
@GrayEyes said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2658724#Comment_2658724
That's not the point tho the point is they are having issues with the beta and the immediately responded that same day
Whereas console players are still plagued with issues years later and it took then weeks to address the security issues and ddos problems in dbd and even when they did the response was a joke lol
I wasen't around during the beta of dbd so i can't say how it was then.
But fixing issues on a closed beta with a handfull of players is a hell of a lot easier then fixing issues on a multiplatform game and especially with security issues.
I'm pretty excited about vhs too but it seems a lot of people here aren't actually excitted about the game itself but are excitted with the idea that it might mean dbd's downfall.
Which is just kinda sad
-

It's just easier to quit this game and move to a better game, like VHS as those devs actually listens to all the base instead of one side of the game.
I don't really understand this argument. VHS has never had a patch. Hell it entered closed beta like a day ago.
They litteraly didn't have a chance yet to not listen to all the base instead of one side of the game.
-
Brutal used to be okay but nowadays it's not really worth running anymore.
It's more of a feel good perk then an actual value perk. It very rarely matters on how far the survivor can run. They'll make it to the pallet they want pretty much all the time. Even when you combine it with Fire Up it rarely makes a big difference
Now buffing it to 50% is a tad overkill but it could very easilly be buffed to 33% and still be just okay
-
@Laluzi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2656405#Comment_2656405
Wait, your MMR rises if you get a 1k? That's absurd. The devs have repeatedly stated they consider a 2k the median result they're hoping for. 1k is still underperforming, so why would your MMR go up for that? I've been under the impression all this time that a 2k kept your MMR static, 3k+ was upward movement, and 1k- was downward.
Not always.
How much mmr you gain or lose also depends on how big the difference between you and the survivor is.
If the survivor you sacrifice is much higher mmr then you then you get more points
So if you sacrifice a high mmr survivor who for example wants to make sure their their low mmr friends who they are swfibg with makes it out then the mmr you get from them could outweigh the ones you lose from the other 3 resulting in a small net positive.
This is nowhere near the norm but not really uncommon either with people who swf with different mmr ratings
-
in which case it snaps you too it.
Inb4 new survivor tech by spamming control it keeps snapping you forward at a much faster pace then normal running.
All to fix something that doesn't have any impact unless you want it to have one.
-
I mean the biggest reason for what you are saying is that the community isn't a single collective being. There are very few people who completly agree on everything in this game.
But that said, yes you are right. The community is insane
-
No worry fellow survivor, I'll body block for you.
devour hope
-
That video is not really a good representation. People are much quicker going to write a comment when they dislike something then when they like something.
Same thing with the forums btw. Just because the mayority here likes to complain doesn't mean the mayority playing this game hates it. People really don't realise just how small of a fraction of the total player base this is
-
It's pretty good to combat boons tbh.
28 seconds to bless a dull totem
56 seconds to bless a hex.
If you run op's build they are pretty much forced to cleanse the totems or throw the game spending minutes blessing them.

Well the risk is that the perk would be almost worthless if they CoH or good med-kits, etc. Aka wasted perk slot for nothing.
They are still slower healing then without it.
If anything it's gotten slightly more usefull since CoH cause people are actually healing now where they didn't bother unless absolutly necesarry before.
