And oh my god you're using this argument for ARTIFACT

You unironically think disconnect penalties killed Apex? Not the fact that it's a meme shooter competing with Fortnite and CoD?

Game will lose half it's player base if they did this. As toxic as it may be, can't restrict half the player base and expect the game to grow back with non toxic players. As it stands, dbd has its highest concurrent player base in it's history, so do math and understand that it would probably cripple the marketing dept.
No game ever lost significant players by penalizing rage quitters
-
Don't be a neon-skinned Nea, that's kind of the "look how toxic i am LOL that's going in my juke compilation" loadout for this game
Use Exhaustion perks with synergy to become a less worthwhile target, IE: Lithe + Dance With me, SB + Fixated
Don't get downed in a super easy-to-camp spot, IE: on top of a hill, in the basement
You could run Deliverance to unhook yourself when you think you have the highest likelihood of getting away

Thank you for letting me know what "console" means! I'm too stupid to understand and I definitely asked you to explain it to me like I'm a particularly dim child.
That's not what I did, but alright. It's just that you said crossplay is between "console and PC", when in fact it's between multiple systems and stores, some of which are on PC, and others are on the various consoles that have DbD.
I'm aware that the game being crossplay helps with queue times, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't also give PC players the advantage, along with also giving them improved queue times as well.
The main thing that gives PC players an advantage is the better control system. Performance is obviously also an issue, but even when that's fixed, PC players using a keyboard and mouse will still have the upper hand due to controllers being worse for DbD.
I don't see how your point about console players still playing this dogshit game has anything to do with the advantages PC players have against console players across most games, DBD included.
It doesn't, it was in reference to you saying that "PC players" are the ones who got the event extended, more BP, etc., like those things weren't given to the entire playerbase.
Plug a USB keyboard and mouse into your Xbox
WWOOOOOO WHOA ADVANTAGE

So I was looking at this for a while and here are some Infos, facts and also a bit of help.
To everyone saying Hag is not interactive:
Hag is a very interactive killer. The difference is, that survs have to seek the interaction with her. Instead of complaining that you get instahit during a chase and that there is no interaction happening how about finding out that it is the hag youre playing against at the start of the match? After that you can follow her and disarm her traps while maintaining a safe distance between you and her. Hag is planting traps during a chase and the other survs complains that the,, only option " is to run away? Well you can just disarm the trap while they moved out of the loop and make that loop usable again. Hag and survs interaction is a permanent game of hag trying to hide herself and her Web and survivors trying to find her and disarm her Web
If survivors dont go out of their way to interact with this killer then dont complain, it is your own fault then.
To everyone saying that you cannot disarm hag traps, you need a flashlight and that you should be able to scratch out traps :
All of this is completely wrong. Being able to scratch out traps would make her a very bad killer + the counter would be too similar to the one of Trapper. You can already safely disarm traps. Just remember where a trap is, approach it and trigger it at the border of the activation radius. Then sprint away immediately. Even with an instant tp hag will not be able to hit you. With that simply and easy action you did the following things :
1) You made this place safe again
2) if she teleports you know again where she is and therefore you can harass her better
3) you disrupted her stealth
4) you maybe saved a surv that was in a chase
So you dont need any Tools except for your eyes to disarm any hag traps. If she does not teleport the trap is a wasted ressource of time, if she teleports you are already too far away. Also this is again heavy interaction with this killer but again, you have to seek interaction
To everyone saying that you do not like the cam swing:
Hag needs this. This is one of her most powerful tools. If you dont like it then just look at the center of the trap whole triggering it. But to know where traps are to avoid this you have to spectate and harass her which is interaction again.
I agree that hook Camping hags are a huge Problem and as I said often enough traps should all vanish in a xm radius after a rescue. Survs have to crouch to hooks, but not back.
Also make her chase music similar to deathslingers with a soft start but as soon as the chase begins or a trap gets triggered a jumpscare Riff should be played. Also an addon rework since her addons are either useless, make her weaker or are just boring stats increases.
At the end to sum it up: Hag is not an active killer, she is fully reactive. All,, no fun " complains except for hook Camping are not because of her, but because of survivors refusing to do anything else than gens and expecting the killer to be the one that forces interaction. In hags case she doesnt force interaction, but she offers Heavily. If survs dont take the offers it is not hags fault.
Greetings to @Phasmamain
It's awful that we have to explain it like this because "muh interactive" is somehow a qualifier for a killer's balance
-
SWFs hate pipping and playing the game, so they love this perk because it negates both those possibilities. Just hold m1 and leave, no killer interaction required!
-
Gamers by and large completely disregard game "journalists" these days for this exact reason. They're usually hot garbage at games, and will often write hit-pieces on why said games need to be changed (IE Dark Souls needs an easy mode)
-
I refuse to equip noed, it's cheap and cowardly. OP or not, it's embarrassing to be seen using.
-
I don't know what's going through their heads when they think that's a good idea
It takes a true diehard survivor main to conceive that
-
Good, they suck so bad that it's not a problem

I'm not understanding how being able to teleport directly into chase is weak, that is so strong. Bump up her base speed so that she can maintain chase. Not being able to swing right away shouldn't matter, you are teleporting directly into chase.
Teleporting directly into chase isn't gonna matter when you're on Ormond, teleporting from safe pallet loop to safe pallet loop endlessly chasing one guy. The entire threat of Hag is that she can smack from teleport.

Hag needs a proper rework. Even if we ignore the core problem with hooks. Her power is all about getting nearly guaranteed hits if a trap that can only be interacted with with flashlights goes off.
Make hag 115 percent killer and have it so that after teleporting hag cannot attack for X time (probably just 1 - 2 seconds). Hags then allow her to navigate quickly throughout the map and she turns into a standard killer in chase.
Obviously other changes would be needed, but that's where I'd start.
This takes all the skill out of high-level hag and makes her into a boring M1 killer with a slight headstart on a chase

If you have to make an augment based off of 3rd party software, it's the software messing with the game that's the problem. This would be like me saying some tiles are poorly designed purely because of stretched res.
That's a false equivalency. Most killer players use headphones to do exactly what Shooby's talking about.

"The phasing bug was amazing and I was really disappointed when it was removed."
This bug made her brain dead boring to play against because it was too easy to track her which also defeated the purpose of her kit.
"Some times I got lucky, other times I didn't."
This is the definition of PVP, and one of the reason's why I firmly believe that complained about killer's are complained because survivor's don't always have the 51% adavntage in chases with these problematic killers
You have no idea what makes a PVP game good if you think luck is a core component
You will never in your life find a fighting game (arguably the most competitive, pvp-oriented genre) where luck is a strong factor. At least, not a popular one. Tekken Revolution tried that with a critical hit system and the entire FGC threw that game in the dumpster on day 1.

Cheating is very prevalent on PC. Hell, when I worked for Blizzard at least 90% of PC players cheated in one way or another. If you think PC player cheating is slim you're deluded cause it's ridiculously easy to do.
I think you're lying

Would completely counteract wiggle perks, so no.
Let's say you get picked up by the killer while you're running Flip Flop & Boil Over. He would normally take you to the basement because it's not that far away, but he sees that you've already made wiggle progress and chooses to take you to the nearest hook instead.
Just takes away another interesting part of the game for no reason

this takes too long. i spent 2-3 hours deranking from rank 4 to rank 13 one time and the next day i was back at rank 4, just by playing how i normally play.
You must no-life this game to gain that many ranks in one go, no offense
-
There is no reason to make a new account, you can just derank your regular account.

-> instaheal
-> 15 seconds of gameplay max
Please actually play this game as killer
-
Inner Strength by a massive, massive margin. Mariana Trench-sized margin.
You're not gonna need to heal that many times in a trial, and self-care wastes HALF A GENERATOR of time
Almost every self-care user I see ends the game with 7-10k BP because they waste half the game
-
Trail of Torment is almost always the case, which is what makes Better Together not even worth running. Why not just have it highlight red? or orange? or pink? or anything else?
-
Roommates discovered it through means I don't know, and then pointed to Jeff and said "look, it's a metalhead character like you", so I bought the game.

If they nerfed the corn, they would have to add more pallets. Otherwise Rotten Field would just be an EZ-mode killing field. Hell, even the survivor-sided coldwind maps don't have as many loops because the gimmick of Coldwind is that there's less looping and more hiding.
-
It's a petty, childish way to "get back at" a killer for winning
Been around since the hatch was added to the game and I don't think the devs are eager to deal with it, since it doesn't actually happen that often.
-

It literally is bannable, you eat a DC penalty every time you do it.
Like, it's one of the only things that will actually get you banned.
Hacking? Holding a game hostage? Tossing around racial slurs in post chat? Supposedly bannable, but because of how terrible the report system is it will probably go unpunished.
If you DC to give hatch, though, instant temp ban. Doesn't get more direct than that.
How do you throw around racial slurs in a chat with a language filter that you can't turn off?
-
Try looping the killer
There are pallets generated throughout the map which can be used to create a barrier between you and the killer. In addition, survivors vault windows faster than killers and can thus create distance, prolonging the chase.

That is why I specified "after the rework". The map was reworked a couple of months ago, it's much more killer sided now. You should try it yourself now, see what I mean.
It's still massively survivor sided
Safe pallet into jungle gym into safe pallet into jungle gym into safe pallet into jungle gym into safe pallet into jungle gym

- The Game

- Ormond (after the rework)
Ormond is survivor city, you can't be serious

Currently many maps do suck for killer. Tons of Coldwind maps and there are few, if any, killers that thrive in Coldwind.
The maps people say "suck for killer" are usually just normal maps that they're framing as an impossibility
I love playing Badham as killer, but any other killer main would tell you it's hell on earth and that the garage loop is supposedly an "infinite" (lol)
There's only one survivor-sided coldwind map, the rest have been pruned hard. They're only difficult for ranged killers.
-
@shinymon said:
Not every map has to be tailored specifically for every killer. It's not a hard concept.
It's unplayable for those killers. 80% chance you're getting a 1k if you dare to pick blight on that map.

I haven't seen many decisives since the nerfs. Now that it's not an immunity bubble, they've chucked it out the window. I think Inner Strength has taken its place in the meta loadout, acting as the new Self Care.

This post's title and first sentence seem to contradict each other, do they not?
You're allowed to have a favorable opinion of something objectively sub-optimal, in the same way that someone would consider the Ford Model-T to be the pinnacle of vehicle performance.
If we establish "well-designed" to mean well-balanced & scaled for DBD, then RCPD is objectively badly designed.
-
I'd rather have more jungle gyms/TL walls, and less pallet-between-2-rocks bullsh1t. Those are the most boring loops in the game, you just walk around a couple times, drop, break, repeat. I like jungle gyms because it's 2 people running through a small maze trying to predict each other, there's satisfaction to be had.

Since The Realm Beyond, I wouldn't even say most maps lean one way or another. There are obvious outliers, such as Dead Dawg being a hallway of death, and Ormond being SafetyTown™ for survivors, but pallets have been pruned, maps have been shrunk, and there are many more gens stuck in dead zones that the survivors are forced to do if they wanna win.
The clock is set against the killer, but I wouldn't say the maps are.

No idea why killers can't customize their power (IE chainsaw skins, bottle skins for clown, new vomit effects for plague etc)
It's a no-brainer and a massive cash cow
