Rebecca doesn't represent the action era at all. Anyway, I'd like to see Alexia being added although I don't expect it to actually happen at all.

Apart from Rebecca's presence, the dlc mostly covers the action era since Ada & Wesker is part of it.

  • My inner completionist compels me to.

Also nobody insults the survivors quite like Wesker does.

  • First RE dlc covered the era of classic RE games such as 2 & 3, Second dlc mostly covers the action oriented RE era that came with RE 4, 5 & 6, if we ever get a third RE dlc, it should be covering the current era of first person RE games with 7 & Village.

Althou a paragraph for G Birkin would be nice as well.

I hope we finally get blighted Feng and maybe blighted Mikaela. Why we still haven't gotten a tome for Feng either is beyond me.

As for killers idk. We're probably gonna get blighted trickster, artist and ghostface or something. Bhvr seems to love trickster and artist, and with the licensed nemesis and pyramid head blight from last year this opens the door for other licensed killers to get blight skins. Maybe even Micheal.

Ghostface already have a blighted skin.

  • The RE skin above all other RE skins: The Tofu Survivor.

Does this mean that Pinhead too isn't voiced by his original actor, Doug Bradley?

Edit: Just checked, Pinhead is still the man himself.

Pinhead in dbd very much is voiced by Doug Bradley.

Isn't he? It seemed pretty on point with the tone, so I assumed it was him. Who is it, then? Is it that random guy who I saw on YouTube doing an impression of him, almost begging BHVR to have him dub Wesker? And how can you say it isn't him, got any official word of this? Just asking out of curiosity.

As of now it's unknown who it is, but ever since the first RE crossover, bhvr have been hiring voice actors for both Killers & Survivors from a site called The Monster Factory, which is also where BHVR got Wesker's voice actor from.

True, but CoH would be no where near as bad as Self-Care was.

    • CoH cannot be used mid chase (in most situations at least)
    • They have to go to the Boon to heal. Depending on the distance they are better off just using a gen to wake up. Also, Freddy now knows where the Boon is and can sneak up on them or snuff it later.
    • If Freddy snuffs the totem, they need to reset it and against a killer with built in slowdown, that is not always a good idea.
    • If CoH is still a big issue, you can at least run Shattered Hope. No perk countered old Self Care.

Medkits would still be an issue, but at least by forcing them to fail skill check with it they are probably not going to get much healing from it. Add in Sloppy for haemorrhage and no one is going to be healing against Freddy with medkits.

Bringing old freddy back would still be a terrible idea.

Survivors hated going against the action speed penalty and free aura reading freddy had back in the days, if he came back in today's dbd, he would be worse than ever and i guarantee you there will be just as many complaints about him as back then.

His inbuilt action speed penalty which could only be removed by failing a skill check + todays killer slowdown perks + the additional 10 seconds to gen repair time.

like imagine the absolute kill counts that would happen if gens suddenly took 180 seconds, double what they are now, think pain res is strong now? give it to old freddy, that 15%? yeah thats gonna be FAR more noticeable than ever before, 15% PLUS teleporting to the gen PLUS pop goes the weasel PLUS deadlock/DMS? you'd effectively bring back forever freddy.

I mean, I am excited to get D.C. Douglas reprising his role as Wesker's voice actor. But, am I the only one to whom said lines sound like, I don't know, a less emotional version of what they were in RE5? It almost feels as if he didn't really want to do it, for most of the lines.

It's not Douglas who voicing wesker in dbd thou.

  • They did record that line, it simply just has a 000000000000000.1% chance of actually being said during a match because the line secretly causes wesker to activate his ultimate weskin' ability.

Freddy wasn’t that bad. He wasn’t great, but he was really slept on. And if he was brought back I think he would be a lot better simply because the meta had shifted so much.

Old Freddy’s biggest weakness was that everyone was running Self-Care back then so everyone could wake up almost instantly. Playing as Freddy against a team of Self-Carers was awful, but against a team with zero Self-Care he was actually a threat as you had no way to wake up easily. I remember the old “de-pip squad” mentioning that Freddy was actually a bit of challenge because none of them ran Self-Care.

Now that Self-Care is basically dead I think old Freddy would actually be kind of viable.

Now they just use COH instead to break free from sleep.

  • As long as we don't revert back to old freddy.

DbD stopped being scary in a visual aspect back when Trickster was released. I'd say Oni's new skin looks scarier than any of Trickster's cosmetics

Trickster was never meant to be scary looking in the first place since his whole horror aspects lies in the ¨People like this guy exist in real life, normal on the outside but twisted on the inside.¨ area, just like ghostface. They both do the same thing but in different ways and with different reasons for doing it.

  • One day hopefully, we still need Butterball and Deep Throat as skins.

  • @AnneBonny said:

linked cosmetics are good in concept because some skins just don't work in individual pieces, but a lot are linked for seemingly no reason other than money. afaik we still have no solid statement from bhvr as to whether licenseholders are the ones determining whether certain outfits are linked or not. none of cheryl's non-legendary sets clip in individual pieces, same deal with jill's full priced set with a default piece (which is an outright scam as far as i'm concerned) and leon's re4 outfit. even then there are original sets that don't clip as well.

It's 100% the license holder who have the final say in the matter if their character's cosmetics are linked or not, doesn't matter the rarity of the cosmetic.

If were really gonna go real about this PH would win as if you do a little bit of in-depth game lore and research the entity feared PH and nobody else and that's really all I got to say cause that's enough if the entity feared a killer that was brought in to her own world where she can do anything she wants and fears the killer she brought in bad news. That's all for today.

Where does it say that the entity outright fears pyramid head?

  • My inner completionist compels me to.

  • As long as they're just skins and not fully fledged dlc characters, i'm pretty whatever about it.

With that said however, would much rather see actual horror Anime & Manga IPs join dbd instead of IPs such as attack on titan and similar ones altogether.

Coal tower, Treatment Theatre, Red Forest is alright for a big map, Dead Dawg Saloon, and Thompson House

RPD, Erie, Hawkins and Garden all have some combination of size, palette count, and poor lighting issues that just make them unfun to play on.

Could you specify what makes maps like Coal Tower, Treatment Theatre & Red Forest alright?

Also what about maps like RPD, Erie, Hawkins & Garden should change to make them better overall in your opinion?

A Xenomorph from Alien. This is pretty self explanatory, Alien is a huge franchise in the Sci-Fi and Horror genre. It'd be perfect for the game, and would probably be pretty terrifying in the game if Alien: Isolation is anything to go by.

Now another killer I'd love to see, though basically impossible, is Jason Voorhees. Arguably the most popular horror slasher ever, it feels something is missing without him in it while other horror legends like Myers, Freddy and Bubba are. It shows how popular he is when the first killer was basically just a Jason wannabee (Sorry, Trapper). Some say he'd be just a Trapper clone, with some others saying he'd be better off as just a Legendary skin for Trapper, but I personally think there's a lot more to him than just traps and whatnot, and there's quite a few possibilities for his power. I'm surprised more people don't want THE Slasher in this game. Halloween or TCM may have started the slasher genre, but Friday certainly popularised it, not to undermine those two movies though. Jason is probably never going to happen with a lawsuit that killed HIS own game, but it'd be cool to see.

And, here's something more realistic, any Evil Dead killer. So many characters from Evil Dead could fit, Baal, Eligos, Ruby, maybe even Evil Ash. There are way more possibilities, but going by strictly AvED as that's the IP in the game, those are the few I could think of. With the next killer rumored to be a knight of some sort, it's certainly plausible it could be Evil Ash from Army of Darkness. THAT would be really cool.

I'd also love for Demo to be added back to the game if that counts. He looks really fun, and being a fan of ST, I'm really disappointed I missed both Demo and Steve & Nancy. Man I really hope the rumor of them coming back is true.

FYI, the lawsuit for Friday the 13th has been over for a while now, but don't expect Jason to be up for grabs immediately, maybe in 2-3 years from now would my guess be.

legendary outfits to actually change these characters into the l4d survivors would be a lot of fun. it'd also be very fun to have our first voiced survivor, if only to hear rochelle say "son of a beesting" when she gets hit. #iconic

you could even justify the smoker as a legendary skin for deathslinger i guess. just, y'know, left 4 dead is great and has been part of dbd almost since the start (seriously bill is one of the earliest survivors) i'd love for us to get a second dose

i didn't think second doses really happened, but we're getting a second resident evil dlc. nothing against that, of course, just, if second chapters are on the table... then i'd love to see a little more l4d love.

I highly doubt we'll ever see any legendary outfits as well as any special infected as a killer in this game, since the thing about l4d and valve IPs in general is that bhvr cannot make money off of it, that's why bill + the l4d survivor cosmetics for dwight, meg, claudette and jake is free and bill's tome outfit can only be bought with shards.

Funnily enough, there's an obscure horror-themed fighting game called Terrordrome that released in 2013. It included characters like Jason, Freddy, Myers, Leatherface, Pinhead, Chucky, Ghostface, Candyman, Ash, and some more obscure horror icons like Herbert West from the Reanimator. If you're interested, it might be worth the worth the look.

I'm aware of it, i also know they're creating a second game with publicly available horror characters.

My hopes is that one day the remaining cast of characters from Terrordrome: rise of the boogeyman comes into dbd and have their first official video game debut, because some of them are really important characters who by having their inclusion could cement dbd's status as the ultimate smash bros of horror experience even further.

however out of all the characters from that game, the Tallman would be the one who i am mostly hoping to see one day join the game since i'm a big fan of Phantasm, also Don Coscarelli himself has said on twitter that he's open for a video game adaptation of Phantasm, so it might actually have a chance.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

The fact they have made a game that at its most basic level created a true slasher-survival experience whilst also being multiplayer is great, but it has expanded into many realms and stretching out into all different genres of horror: from movie slashers like "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", tv series "Stranger Things", gaming "Silent Hill", "RE", and recently books and anime .. it really is an amazing horror multiverse!

I'm still waiting for a podcast though! "The Magnus Archives" beckons!

Fun fact, dbd is the first game ever in alot of regards when it comes to it's licenses, such as being

    • The first game ever to legally and officially release Hellraiser content for a video game
    • The game that officially debuted Pinhead's first appearance in a released video game and also being the first game ever to legally let you play as him.
    • The first game ever to have Doug Bradley officially voice Pinhead in a video game
    • The first game ever to have official Crypt TV content in a video game
    • The first (and currently only) game ever to have both Silent Hill & Resident evil content together in the same game
    • The first game ever to let you play as Amanda Young from SAW
    • The first multiplayer game ever to let you play as Detective David Tapp
    • The first game ever that let's you play as Sadako Yamamura
    • The first game ever to let you play as characters like Laurie Strode, Quentin Smith, the Ash version from Ash vs Evil Dead.
    • The first game ever to create it's very own original ghostface character that isn't connected to scream or is just an extra costume only and who's lore revolve around the ghostface moniker
    • The first multiplayer game ever to legally let you play as Michael Myers in an authentic way
    • The first game ever to official license Ringu and also create lore for it that becomes part of it's own canon

I would also have added in the first game ever to legally have the big 4 slasher icons together in the same game, however we're unfortunately not there yet as we're still missing Jason.

  • Depends on the situation.

  • I highly recommend checking out the Phantasm franchise if you get the chance, it's personally one of my favorite ones. I made another thread about phantasm and how the license is up for grab if we wish to see it get into dbd.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3128687#Comment_3128687

They are not real Mikaela mains. Real Mikaelas are only cares about boons. They can not live without it.

Mikaela is the source of all evil, she must be purged from the entity's realm before she brings misfortune and damnation to us all, the fact that you call her a queen shows that you've been bewitched by her already and is too far gone to be saved.

If we ever get a fire related killer, i shall make it my goal to scorch & purge Mikaela from the fog for good, her wickedness cannot be allowed to continue to exist.

  • There is only one fate befitted to a dirty magic user like Mikaela, and that's burning on a pyre alongside Hag for performing their evil witchcraft, only by cleansing them in fire can the fog be rid of their wickedness.

Well if Entity took real Alessa, then she should be killer. Not survivor. She is so evil and she killed a lot people.

But it could be weird tho. Alessa is chasing Cheryl for murder her.

The Memory of Alessa Boss from SH3 could work as a killer thou.

I dont think he even works with the silent hill team anymore

tho i really like the skin

    You're right, he doesn't.

However bhvr could still try to convince Konami to get the skin into the game since it is a design that's part of the silent hill brand since it's part of the comic that comes included in the soundtrack for SH: Origin, i just think it would also be a cool nod to the creator of Pyramid Head as well.

  • We absolutely need a female cenobite skin as well as a Butterball skin & a blighted pinhead skin.

  • Imo, the people who jumps on the dbd-killer bandwagon does more harm than good in keeping healthy competition alive, it should never be about replacing something that already exist, but to have something that can co-exist with one another.

  • Fingers crossed they give us a trailer for a Naughty Bear remastered.

  • @R1ch4rd_N1x0n said:

From what I remember, there were some asking for a rework but more people were asking for simple buffs. On-release Freddy was a good killer that was nerfed in the first week of him being out due to people not knowing how to face against him. I think the devs back then panicked and nerfed him too quick.

If Freddy were reverted to on-release Freddy with some nice buffs that @GeneralV suggested such as survivors in the dream transition suffer from the incapacitated status effect until fully asleep and keeping the current gen teleporting power, then Freddy would be a unique tracking power killer able to debuff those in his dream world and can occasionally have map mobility. Most of all, you'd actually feel like Freddy Krueger when playing him.

Even if they didn't have a knee jerk reaction with nerfing him, release Freddy still wouldn't have lasted because he was very unpopular both to play as and against according to Peanits.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

The best designed killer and he took from us. Nobody asked for rework but yet, BHVR did.

@GeneralV has topic to make him feel better and stronger. But they just changed Freddy instead buffing his basekit.

    Nobody asked for rework

Blatantly false, people back then very much did ask for a rework to freddy since he was considered by many to be the worst killer of the entire roster.

  • While i will say soloQ does need improvements overall, i'm also having more fun playing soloQ Survivor now that killers got buffed, it kinda feels like playing on a hardcore mode now which makes outplaying and escaping more satisfying.

  • Personally prefer the new graphics over the old ones which i hope doesn't return.

  • Him and the Tallman from Phantasm.

  • God no.

I hope he stays buried and gone with the rest of 2017 dbd.
