It's like you've never heard of compromise before.
DBD is its own unique game. Resident Evil is it's own very different set of games.
Bringing a character from one property to another means making compromises.
Ranged explosives and bullet-shooting guns are not part of DBD's core gameplay nor its aesthetic charm.
If you want to argue he should have a cosmetic rocket launcher on his back, because it's iconic to the character, sure, why not.
If you want to shoot people and things with it, go play any of the hundreds of games where you can and it makes sense.
DBD is not that game.

An extension of the Ghostface chapter in some way would be pretty sick. I understand that obviously he's an original character wearing a licensed costume and the identity of 'The ghost face killer' is inspired by Scream but not a direct adaptation
An original survivor either related to Danny in some way (One of his victims, somebody who was on his tail or something like that) would be a pretty cool concept I'd like to see.
Alternatively, a Scream themed paragraph with Sidney as the main survivor would also really complete things. We'd then both have Scream AND Ghostface in the game. Seperate entities that are closely related
Just give us Carl as a Survivor.

Mikaela.
Then again i don't consider dirty witches for survivors, let alone as people.

The dlcs are gonna sell even more than every Feng, Meg and Nea cosmetic combined.
BHVR has literally struck gold with this and can safely fall back on it incase DBD ever does poorly in sales.

While I don't think it'll ever drop to 0 as the OP suggested, it is fair for people to say and think that the player count doesn't seem that great. When you have someone on the anniversary stream mention 50 million players for the game and yet players experience long wait times for matches its not hard to understand how people may question those numbers. As I mentioned above, DBD may not be appealing to the same number of people as it once did, so the question if that is true is, why? What has changed that has caused less people to be interested in the game in recent time? Is DBD appealing to a wider and more diverse audience and if not, then why not? Did more, less or the same amount of people find interest in DBD when they started incorporating representation elements into the game? I'd be interested to see some data on that. I could check the steam charts but DBD is on multiple platforms so I'd need to see overall data to get a better picture.

I mean they may think that, but at the same time we know that the queue time differs depending on the day of time and which region you're on, as for the 50 million bit, i think it's more in terms of how many people have played during DBD's entire lifespan as a game in total, but that's just a guess really.

I honestly don't think there is a single answer as to why people are in general drawn to DBD, why they'd leave DBD or even why they return to DBD and it can be of many different reasons that varies from both outside and inside the game that can cause them to do any of them.
I'd be interested to see some data on that. I could check the steam charts but DBD is on multiple platforms so I'd need to see overall data to get a better picture.
I don't think any stats would show specifics as to why people come and go, but it definitely would be interesting to check for alot of reasons other than the total current active playercount cross all platforms itself.

I never saw that. Looks interesting!
I highly recommend checking out the Phantasm series, one of the best and most unique franchises in horror history.

You claim playercount is dropping like flies yet steam chart numbers has been fluctuating between -300 & -500 for the entire month of may. Hell it's currently sitting on -19.2
Also the playerbase will never drop to 0 completely because there are people who will always play DBD no matter what, so it will never go below a certain point.

Racoon police department doesn't fit into DBD and they did it.
and because of that, it's getting a rework to be better to play on.

Holding out hope for this one to come one day.

I'm fine with making it optional but not because i want survivors to have hatch, i just want to choose my spot to mori. Either that or make the killer mori in the location they down the last survivor.

His 2 most memorable things are his weapons and himself with his insane speed and strength. None of them are represented well. He can't be done well if you just shove in zombies as his power and a whip. That doesn't fit anywhere for Nemesis. The rocket launcher can fit. I guarantee I'd he had it, people would have been fine with it.
His zombies may not fit in his kit but neither does a rocket launcher fit in the game aswell.
This is not a Resident Evil game, it's Resident Evil adapted into Dead by Daylight and like all games or movies adapted into another media, you must expect some compromises to come along with it aswell, that includes not having a Rocket Launcher in DBD as it does not fit in this game and that's just a fact. period. It's chances of making it into the game is as realistic as your rework kit being implemented, they're both non-existing.
I'm done here.

I wonder if DBD is gonna go for any of the anime IPs that identity V has done?

There is no good reason though. It can work perfectly fine in DBD if they put some effort into it. And if you wanna use the argument of it doesn't fit thematically, then sure it may not but I think you can make an exception. It's not scary but it's not like Barney the Dinosaur is chasing you or some crap. It's not silly, it's cool. May not be scary but it's still intense and cool which I think you an make an exception for your licensed killers. If not, why even choose Nemesis in the first place.

It not fitting thematically in DBD is a perfectly good reason for not including it and does not warrant an exception.

What is cool/intense or not is entirely subjective and still does not warrant an exception for it's inclusion, especially not when it would stick out like a sore thumb because it's very existence does not make sense in a game like DBD.
If not, why even choose Nemesis in the first place.
Because Nemesis is not solely defined by the usage of his Rocket Launcher, it's not even his most defining feature, hell even in the RE3 remake he only gets his RPG once during his 4th boss encounter and then it's never seen again, same with his flamethrower. You can add Nemesis as a killer without any of his weaponry and it would not take away anything from his core identity.

Well I don't think Capcom is the one saying they are not allowed to let Nemesis move his legs to run as a power and use a rocket launcher.
No, the rocket launcher and sprint is on bhvr for not allowing them, and for good reasons too with the rocket launcher which i'll say once again, you're not gonna get no matter what.
-
I would rather they just give him an addon pass and incorporate his sprint through that instead of just reworking his power entirely, way more likely to happen than something like a rocket launcher to be added.
Also keep in mind that not everything is on BHVR's end, Capcom has a bigger say in the matter on the whole thing aswell as what they're allowed to do and not, such as chris and claire's look.

Yeah, that didn't really occur to me until the wiki mentioned that. I think part of that comes from how I (and a lot of the community) really don't like the whole multiverse concept they have (or at least how it's currently presented), so it doesn't usually cross my mind. With the multiverse in mind, it makes a bit more sense, I would have just preferred seeing the Archive's Haddie over this imposter.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2960135#Comment_2960135
Actually, this is them being consistent for once. Otto still needs to alive for him to be killed by Doctor. And for the Dredge, what better to hunt down and feed on hope than the literal embodiment of negativity once held back by that very hope.
Fair enough i suppose, personally though i love the whole multiverse stuff, it's what makes DBD's lore interesting and while i know there are people in the community who doesn't like it, there also is quite alot of people in the community aswell who does like it.
-
Because tome Haddie and Survivor Haddie are not the same person, even the Observer commented on this stating that there are multiple versions of the Haddie and Jordan stories, with some of the version being inspired by other versions of Haddie and Jordan aswell as their podcasts being called Harbinger of Hell in one version and in another calling it ravages of the abyss, along with some other difference such as how the fate of Haddie's parents differs from each versions
Personally i really like both and i think they did a great job on the lore.

I literally just told you I'm not looking for 100% accuracy. All I want is those abilities to be in his power at some form. Specifically the rocket and the sprint. Even if he was the worst killer in the game I just want those in the game in his power. That's all I've ever asked for.
The Dash is the only realistic thing that can potentially happen, although I think the most likely way that they would ever incorporate it into his kit would be by giving him an addon pass and change some of the addons to be increasing his speed from some means and requirement, because i highly doubt they'll straight up rework and replace his existing powers.

Ok well what about his iconic sprint and strength? Where is that? And I mean in his power. I want to be able to run straight through pallets.
What exactly do you want from his sprinting and strength?
You want him to bust through breakable walls with no cooldown or just run through everything and easily get a hit on survivors?
or maybe you want him to be able to scale buildings like in RE3 with a long distant sprint jump?
Because that's what bringing in Nemesis kit from RE3 would be like if it was 100% faithful and i can safely tell you with a straight face that for a game like DBD, those types of power would get severely dumped down or changed in some way to even remotely be called balance.
-
@TheDarkTyrant said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2956145#Comment_2956145
Lucky for you I never and never wanted 100% accuracy. I just want him to still be accurate since Wesker CAN fit in DBD with his powers when balanced correctly just like a rocket launcher and a sprint.
Rocket Launcher is not even a balance issue, it's a matter of fact that it doesn't thematically fit in a game like DBD since there are no guns in the game in general aside from deathslinger, but even his gun was created in a extremely specific way.
Even Cote has said in past interviews that there was no plans to add a rocket launcher to his kit since like i said, DBD has no guns besides Deathslingers harpoon gun and that the only discussion there was about it at all was maybe adding it to the mori, so yes, even they don't agree with you. But i guess to you non of that matter as the only thing you care about is accuracy and will disregard any other aspects.
-
You'll set yourself up for a disappointment if you expect a 100% accurate to source material chapter since some things are very likely to be changed in some way for the sake of balance or for thematic reasons, that's why you will never get a rocket launcher for nemesis or Nemesis getting his kit from RE mastermind no matter how much you beg for it.
-
Only the biggest license they can possibly get.
Morbius.
-
imo, Nemesis and his footsteps are utterly terrifying to listen to during a chase as his stomp sounds grows louder and louder the closer he gets.
-
I couldn't decide which ones i liked more.
-
Okay.

They might have everything now. We had a couple of licensed killers like Freddy and Bubba for a while but they might be in the game now.
What about the reworked maps, do they have those now aswell or are they still using the old versions?
-
I wonder, does the netease version have everything the base game has or is there something we have that they don't?
-
The darker version/first version of rework Lery had the best level of spookiness out of all the maps, although Lery still holds up in that area even now, albeit not as much.
-
The character portraits aren't unused since they're being used during trials.
-
Weak sauce, all of them.
Why settle for a measly minion when you can go for a big eldritch spider goddess in the sky?
-
I think i remember McLean saying at one point during a twitch stream that crouching behind objects to avoid the tentacle whip is an intended counterplay.

@Valik said:
Absolutely.
I have no idea how the most iconic part of his kit and ability simply appears and fades out of nowhere - especially because he does basically nothing with his off hand anyhow.
They need to give Wraith a rework at some point, and making the bell visible is a much needed addition that they don't need to work too terribly hard to rectify.
imo, i don't think an entire rework is needed and that just giving him some buffs is enough.
Also disregarding the lore reason for it's constant appearing and disappearing, it just looks better having it being visible at all time from a gameplay perspective.
-
No.

As long as DBD keeps putting out Dlc's and cosmetics they don't have to worry about their A game.
I believe The Texas chainsaw massacre is the game that's going to give them the competition that they need.
If Gun Media handles the TCM game the same way they handled Friday The 13th: The Game, then i severely doubt it.

What I see. Apart of the problem why no game can compete with DbD is because every time a new game comes out that can compete to Dead by Daylight instead of getting to grow their own community; The Dead by Daylight community floods that game, and then starts a comparison war in that games community before ultimately returning to DbD. The fluctuation of numbers, and skewed feedback/statistics is a game developing nightmare for a new game, making then unable to compete to Dead by Daylight and either dying off or continuing with a miniscule cult following.
That's what appears about to happen to the Evil Dead game. Hopefully all of their extra PR, and marketing brings in more non-dbd players so the game can grow even after the DbD community makes it rounds. The only other game I seen doing well post 'Dead by Daylight community raid' is Identity V, but that maybe partial to the fact that BHVR had a helping hand in the original works of the game, gave the chance for the game to grow in Asian countries, and with taking a different balancing direction.
Also, Netease and BHVR have a partnership aswell as Netease developing their own mobile version of DBD for BHVR, so Identity V/Netease can't really be classified as a competitor anyway.

Your views on some cosmetics being restricted to a third party isn’t a universally shared opinion. Personally I’m indifferent on where or how I get the cosmetic. If I like it I buy it.
Well yeah, just like how no views or opinions in general are universally shared, also why I wrote "IMO"

Funny, playing Deathslinger takes more skill now than it did before his nerf.

IMO, i don't think outfits should be prime rewards in general, would prefer getting auric cells instead.

I may play other games every now and then regardless of the genre, but nothing can ever replace DBD for me, ever.
It will always be my main game no matter what.

Oni is an ancestor of Rin and her father but it’s over several generations. There was speculation going on that another Yamaoka or maybe even Rins father might become a new killer at some point!
Personally, i would rather see some of the unknown Yamaoka family members that lived in the timespans between the time after Kazan and before Rin was alive become their own killers rather than Rin's father being one.

Trickster's sexuality doesn't really matter because the only person he's in love with is himself due to how big his ego is, how much he craves having the spotlight to himself along with the attention and popularity that comes with it from all his adoring fans and how much he loves his work when making his songs.
Hell, even in his tome he is his own number 1 fan.
-
While the new music is an improvement over the old one, it does feel a bit too actionish with a lack of personality for it to fit ghostface.

Absolutely not.
Edit: also friendly reminder that anyone who buys the game is directly supporting an NFT company as Boss Team Games/Boss Protocol is the publisher for it.

I don't want DBD to ever end tbh. If this anniversary chapter is bad the game will probably die faster then you think it would. Just look at the last few months, playercount is going down every. single. day. It's all or nothing this time. They just need to focus on QOL of the game and get rid of the (terrible) SBMM / MMR system...
Actually the steam chart numbers has been standing still currently as it's been fluctuating slightly back and forth between it's current numbers of average players, also even if the numbers aren't stabilized currently then it sooner or later will be because there are people who refuses to stop playing dbd no matter what.

Judging from the photos and if it really is related to Otto stamper, i wonder if we're getting the cabin from doctor's tome cutscene as a full map.
