The map has been reenabled; only the offerings to go there are still disabled.
Yeah, and the OP says “I’m tempted to give it a go” as if they are going to get the new map or something. I’ve seen it once in like 20~ games I want to say.
-
Well it’s still disabled and I imagine it would go about as well as running it on Lerys. Which is, it’s not effective unless your plan is to slug everyone which can backfire hideously depending on what perks the survivors have. There’s more unbreakables than ever since the DS nerf.
It’s also not really worth being a Hex I’d probably go for Knock out or devour.
Stalking Knockout Devour Ghostface sounds kinda spooky although more in a meme way. The perfect Ghostface game would be you only stalk and keep your location hidden the whole time IMO.

What I’ve learned with Nemesis perk builds and most chase perks are not needed on him because of the nature of his power.
He hits over pallets, so enduring/SF not necessary.
He breaks pallets in a little over two seconds with the whip, Brutal Strength not necessary.
His whip takes less time to reset than punching a survivor, STBFL not necessary.
Bamboozle has never really been a good perk so not a fan.
In my opinion the players down to tracking and gen regression. Once I feel more comfortable with him, I’ll remove the gen regression too. Just tracking perks.
How is bamboozle not a good perk? I’d argue it’s one of the best M1 killer perks in the game. I’ve been using it since the days you were required to have it or survivors would just run infinites on you.
There’s actually new god windows in RPD. I still see some disgusting double window setups on maps like Father Campbells chapel.
You are probably not going to mindgame really good survivors at jungle gyms / the shack and it keeps your chases moving instead of getting looped into oblivion.
I don’t think you really need it per say, and maps without problematic windows it’s not good. But it’s a great insurance policy.
-
Lethal pursuer, Pop, Ruin, Bamboozle.
I was using save the best for a while but once I get better with the tentacle strikes I stopped using it.
I like bamboozle because in tier 1-2 the survivors can easily be too far ahead of you during a loop to comfortably hit them even in an animation lock. And he chews through pallets quickly in tier 2 so it doesn’t matter if they predrop because the window is blocked.

Think what you want.
Imo you're still significantly lessening the issue with that aspect of killer gameplay. I don't see why we should reblance killer gameplay to stop killers from tunneling while letting survivors to push out gens as fast as they can now if they're good.
I wonder once MMR begins to work (if ever) and you'll get good survivor teams almost all of your games (since you seem to be crushing all teams easily right now from the way you describe your usual game) if you'll change your perspective then.
I know what MMR will be like, and honestly it’s not really a game I’m interested in playing. 3-4 man SWFs every game and 5-10 minute Q times was my experience. Tunnel with NOED every game or lose. I spent more time in Q than in game.
DBD is just not competitive. It’s on the competitive level of Mario Kart. And the survivor gameplay experience with a tunneling killer is super boring for anyone who isn’t being tunneled. Hold M1 and hope your teammate is good. If not? Well you lose and there’s probably nothing you can do about it. Solo Q teams are never going to be coordinating body blocking or anything.
Should DS be basekit? I don’t think so, but I really wish the devs would address the gap between SWF and Solo. Other games like Apex and League balance differently and account for the power of voice comms. DBD was literally designed around not being able to communicate other than 2 emotes. Then they can gut the killers who are viable into SWFs but way way too strong for solo Q.

That's why I said competent. You're not catching a good looper with all pallets up 30s into a game unless you're very strong anti-loop killer who basically ignores pallets (nurse, spirit).
And even then, with unlucky survivor spawns, you might catch them that fast and it won't matter anyway since you still can't stop 3 survivors working on 3 seperate gens instant the match starts.
I know that's mostly a rare occurrence but imo it's about as rare as facing actually hard tunneling killer. Most killer are pretty chill and try to go for many hooks if the game pace allows it.
It doesn’t matter how competent the survivor is if I’m running straight over to them and they are in a deadzone. Plenty of survivors are just aimlessly wandering around at the start unaware it’s a 1 shot killer.
Double chili bamboozle Bubba is definitely A or S tier material on a ton of maps.
And for killers I’m not as confident on, I use discordance or corrupt. It’s pretty simple, and most of the killers are hard anti-loop these days.
If you get three tinkerer procs for your first chase you tunnel and attempt to 3 gen. But that usually never happens against solos since most are more worried about surviving to get hatch than gens.
You can play uncounterable killers (nurse, spirit, slinger, etc) or you can play killers who can wipe the whole team in a single power use (Oni), killers with enough mobility to stop multiple tinkerer procs, etc etc.
You are acting like everyone is out there playing M1 killers or something.

I couldn’t disagree more; I find DS to be only a little better than a 1-time borrowed time you can activate upon yourself.
I have had DS since the Black Friday Sales last year (got every licensed Killer and Survivor at half price) and I haven’t run it more than 10 times or so since the nerf. Even before the nerf I didn’t run it often.
Don’t get me wrong it’s a great perk, but solo being unplayable without it? I have 1700 hours on this game and have never played SWF, strictly solo queue. I managed to get every survivor crown in 10 hours, most on my first attempt. Not a single game I ran DS.
Honestly I’d rather use lucky break instead of DS these days. Don’t need second chances if you don’t get hooked. Losing the killer once or twice will waste more time than DS ever could.

While ignoring the fact that competent survivors can finish all gens under 5 minutes. Tunneling happens for both sides, it's just called differently but the issue is exactly the same.
It can but that’s only if the killer takes a disastrous first chase.
I’d say my typical game has been going something like spawn in, get my free lethal persuer wallhacks, down someone in 20 seconds because Bubbas chainsaw literally goes for a year, then go collect ruin / pop value and call it a day. The gens gotta be fast for uncoordinated teams to stand a chance.
-
Usually you are getting bagged because the survivor is confident you will lose the game if you keep chasing them.
Other times you get bagged out of principle. I bag all spirits on sight and make sure they have to watch me leave out the hatch / exit gate if possible.
-
I actually love the map despite it being difficult for most killers solely because of the size. I’m sure ruin will be disgusting to find and sadly that’s probably all it needs to balance out because ruin is just that strong.

Red ranks are not for everyone. Most people like to take breaks, because its so stressful. No shame in that.
Once the new matchmaking goes live, we´ll get rank rewards and the game should be overall more enjoyable for most people.
I still find solo Q way more annoying than rank 1 killer. Killer all you have to worry about is a stacked 3-4 man really.
Survivor you gotta worry about matchmaking, incompetent teammates, killers running overpowered builds, terrible map RNG, etc etc.
Of course I’ve been playing rank 1 killer for years now so I don’t find the situations it puts you in stressful anymore.

I see we have another person who despises Plague.
Yeah I don’t get why you would be complaining about a killer who has to waste like 30 seconds stalking to get a 1 shot when Bubba just gets a 1 shot that’s arguably better straight on spawning in. Especially with double chili.

I'd love to see more than two zombies on the bigger maps.
Unfortunately, the devs said anything more than two zombies would tank the game's performance.
That just tells you something about the games programming. Can’t even have more than two zombies? I flip on total war war hammer and get more frames than DBD with 12,000 units running around sometimes.

Question: With your definition of camping "The killer defends an area and never leaves." what is the killer supposed to do if it gets down to a well-grouped 3-gen? There is literally no value in going out hunting all over the map, especially if you're a low-mobility killer. Okay Billy can fly around trying to flush out survivors but Doctor? Nope!
It’s still camping, I’m not saying there is anything wrong with it. Sometimes it is the best possible decision you can make.
-
@gendoss said:
NOED needs to be reworked to be a very different perk. No killer should be rewarded for losing all of the generators.
Anybody who claims it has reasonable counter play are just salty killer mains. There's no way a random group of survivors can spend up to 5 minutes looking around the entire map for every single totem, it is way unrealistic.
For real. I love that the argument is “do bones” when I’m usually running a super oppressive early game build where you will probably die if the survivors are not slamming gens all game. Do the bones all you want, you will lose because I don’t have NOED and you don’t have the time to cleanse them.
-
I think they are a fun game mechanic. It’s definitely hilarious when zombies come and end a loop for you. Dropping DS into a zombie is also hilarious. I’ve had one jump off a ledge and bodyblock me to extend a chase before which was annoying but also pretty funny.
-
My motto back in the day was “anything goes with wraith” although now it’s more like “anything goes with trickster”
-
Tunneling is just going for the same guy over and over, slugging anyone trying to take hits. It’s not really tunneling if the survivors farmed the hook though.
Hooking one survivor, going across the map, getting another hook, and then coming back isn’t tunneling either. That’s more the survivors playing poorly enough that they are dying too fast.
Camping is camping, not much else to say about it. The killer defends an area and never leaves.

I feel like Discordance does the literally the same thing though, as generally 2 survivors spawn together and most likely hop on the nearest gen together. Plus you have that perk all game.
I love hysteria on my plague, actually get very good use out of it most games.
Oppression i don't see myself using now, not with Eruption on the scene with a much shorter cooldown.
Yeah they are both useful early game but you don’t know exactly where everyone is. Stalking killers can be in position for a stalk immediately, someone like Billy can kick the game off with a cross map saw. Huntress can start with a cross map hatchet, etc etc. I bet a god blight could open with an instadown with his addon. Nurse with range addons could probably start off instantly hitting someone (balanced killer btw).
-
I think he’s fun to play as and against. A really good one is rare though, most of the ones I faced whiffed 80% of the tentacle strikes.
All I think he needs is to remove the speed boost from infecting a survivor. The ability is strong but not enough to justify 3 health states. When you have killers like Bubba running around who just instadown immediately, 3 health states is like eh.
Zombies are still dumb as hell. They should just die if they stay in one place too long because I find them getting bugged out way too frequently. Which is a shame because with Nemesis you could have a pretty dangerous environment for the survivors to work in which is really cool.
-
@gendoss said:
Idk honestly a lot of really good players have been using it lately on streams. It doesn't matter that it only lasts 9 seconds the fact that you know exactly which generators people spawn on is insane. It's like complaining that Ruin only lasted for 1 or 2 gens, you have already gotten it's value by that time.
Oh yeah lethal pursuer is practically a meta perk. It’s so nuts on Ghostface to be stalking survivors 10~ seconds into the match.
I’ve had matches where I spawn in, walk 5 seconds, then start the stalking and someone is 99% and I’m closing in for the exposed hit before they have even been able to get to a gen.
Then boom instant pressure off the bat, ruin undying becomes a huge problem, etc etc
-
I think so, most of my trickster games I use the main event as a meme instead of as a weapon.
-
@ManyAchievables said:
I can't imagine myself using any of Nemesis' Perks seriously.
One is just kind of pathetic (Hysteria), one gives alright information at the start but does nothing else afterwards, and is outshined by another better perk (Lethal Pursuer), and the last makes you actively want to waste your time for a mediocre regression effect (Eruption).
Hysteria actually isn’t that bad on killers who keep survivors injured easily. Plague, broken saw Bubba, Oni maybe. Not legion because it messes with your power too much.
A 2-3 man hysteria proc is pretty strong if you are doing it with an indoor map offering.

The next time you are playing him and have won, go down and test the angles instead of finding the last survivor. It’s a game ending shot in many cases.

Really? Damn that's pretty crazy.
You need to be at the right spot to do it, otherwise it just goes into the air. But right around where the staircase meets the deck you can fire down onto the survivors through the wall. It can be a bit hard to pull off but when you do they can’t get out because you recover fast enough to M1 before they can run past you.
-
Pyramid head can launch shots from the basement staircase / deck down into the basement and it makes getting out borderline impossible even with BT.
-
Hah, I use a key literally every game. Is it cheap? Sure, but then again the game isn’t balanced enough for me to care. I don’t feel like automatically dying half my matches without any real say in the matter.
I’d rather get tunneled out for using a key than have to wait around to die because someone picked spirit at the menu.

Regarding dc's I don't have a big problem with them, no one really dc's in my Survivor games... luckily. But having bad teammates match after match is just frustrating. Can't do gens, hide behind stuff, can't bodyblock a hit with Borrowed, you die on first hook and on top of that you get Killers who play like scumbags. I just wanna play Killer and chill a bit. Idk but I find Killer way more relaxing than Survivor.
Probably the best way I’ve heard this game described is that as a killer, you are in your own world. When you play survivor, you are entering someone else’s world. And it can be fun or boring depending on who they are.
-
I don’t want to play survivor until they put the DC penalty back on. Right now left behind key is my go-to since 90% of my survivor games don’t get to endgame. I’m at rank 8 as survivor and will get multiple brown rank lobbies back to back and it’s like why am I even playing this without a SWF?
It is kinda funny that they reworked all the characters to nerf key swapping and then put Leon into the game. He hides like 90% of the key in his model so it’s really easy to sneak them in. But then again plunders + appraisal and a coin offering basically guarantees a key too.
-
NOED, although that requires you to get to endgame so it’s a wasted perk a lot of the time. I only use it when I’m learning a new killer really.
The only other thing I find super cheap is endfury. Especially if they built it on someone else and you just get downed by it out of nowhere. Bonus points if you die on first hook after that.
-
People spamming ruin undying stridor spirit is exactly why I’m just playing killer these days lol.
-
I mean you need an early game perk to be competitive. That’s for sure. Otherwise the first gen can get done before you even find anyone and you are severely behind right off the bat.
I think it’s fine where it is though, it’s definitely a viable alternative to corrupt if you are confident enough to down someone super quickly. Especially on killers like Ghostface / Billy you can literally down someone in the first 15 seconds of the game and get the snowball rolling before some survivors have even started their first gen.
-
Stealth builds on 32m terror radius killers.
This build was starting to be hilarious until hysteria bugged out.
And the guy with deliverance DCs on first down shocker.
I would have had some 3 man hysteria procs if it worked :/
-
I have been liking it, plenty of 4-5 cake games. Q times for killer are way too long though, probably because the no DC penalty makes solo Q unbearable at the moment.
I have had people DC from going down to a zombie halfway across the map.
-
@ALostPuppy said:
You think it would be, but it's only good for stealth killers to get the first hit and....that's it. The amount of distance you have to walk as a stealth killer (except Wraith) to even catch up to a survivor after the first hit is insane, because you can't cut survivors off from anything, something that every other garbage map suffers from. So the gameplay boils down to: get a hit, run after the survivor as you both hold W without thinking and they pre-drop every pallet they see because they're either completely unsafe or god pallets and then eventually down the survivor after 45 seconds of mindless running. Rinse and repeat.
Both the other stealth killers have one shots so...
-
I know it inside and out, I’m sad I don’t have legacy prestige. But I am rewarded in other ways.
-
Endgame builds are garbage. All it takes is one key and all 4 of your perks are nullified.
-
Because if you are getting over 2 kills a game you are supposed to be moving to the next rank to face harder survivors. But in reality it doesn’t work. You can get a 0k pip up as legion or a 4K depip as Billy.
-
Yeah he’s a free win if you have ever played video games in your life and you are not old. But that’s the same with nurse and spirit, so it’s nothing new. Blights biggest problem is which objects don’t register collisions. And his other bugs.
-
Solo Q is too nerfed to have fun honestly. 1v1ing the killer is long gone unless they are absolutely terrible.
In the world of no DC penalties, left behind key swapping is king.

I assume you didnt read my post so lemme try to clear it up quick for you. Erruption gives you the time you NEED to pop gens, it is there that survivors cant finish gens infront of you or when you are about to reach a gen you want to pop.
You are actually right, I didn’t read the wall of text because I can read the perk description and know it’s trash. I can write a wall of text about monsterous shrine and that doesn’t make it good.
-
Killers barely have time to kick gens with pop sometimes, let alone multiple gens in a row to make the perk effective. This might be good at low ranks.

Survivors are only the power role in a SWF, and on a good map. Solo Q is usually a massacre. Enough they should probably address it.
You think these streamers are going on 50+ win streaks because the game is balanced? Try that in league of legends, nobody is that good unless they are smurfing. It doesn’t happen in those kinds of games.
-
It’s ok but better than BT? Absolutely not. You can use BT to make up for your teammates mistakes, or pull off a save that would otherwise be impossible.
Well make it is only good if the killer is giving out free unhooks.

If they wanted out they could have dc since there's no penalty but they chosed to stay and play toxic over 3 survs and give them ######### time over already ######### match
The survivors could have just DCd too, what’s your point? In that scenario if you care about winning as survivor you chalk it up to a hatch game. If you are not prepared for hatch games as a survivor that’s your own fault not the killer.

No one DC'ed. We loaded in without a 4th teammate.
You don't think it's kinda sad that under those circumstances the killer still chose to play like that? You don't have to camp, tunnel, and slug at five gens under every circumstance. It's a choice killers make that ruin the game for survivors when killers already have a huge advantage. It's pathetic.
You can’t blame the killer for playing to win. Maybe they just wanted to move on to the next match too? If I was put into a 3v1 as a killer I would not want to waste much time on it either. Cakes don’t matter since you can get 2-3 per bloodweb.

It’s funny because I actually wanted to DC for the first time because of a farming killer. Doesn’t get any more boring than that. I’d literally rather be tunneled out of the game because at least we are playing it then.
