Let me get the TLDR. Nemesis main? Three health state enthusiasts seem more likely to cry about this.

It’s not proof at all (facepalm). They just haven’t been able to fix it yet. Probably because it’s a more complicated issue than we realise. It’s probably a deeper issue with the Hindered status, not something specifically related to just Clown.
Will you quit defending it? 20 seconds of testing and this entire patch didn’t happen. But it’s here, and it’s trash.

People underestimate clown way too much in these tier lists.
He shuts down every loop in the game effortlessly if you know what you are doing and where to place the bottles. His only weakness is needing 2 hits and low mobility. And people are out here putting pig and legion above him?

I see nowhere where they are complaining. I see them asking for advice on what we would do in that situation.
It's tough but doable. If you can push one off the first gen in to the direction of the second gen and go from there. It's a doable situation. Just depends on how fast you can get slugs to make the others get off gens. Slugs don't always have to = hooks. Sure you lose a hook. But having them off gens can be more valuable
I’m just tying it in with the typical survivor main whining. Reee killer camped and tunneled when we got 3 gens done in the first 2 minutes of the game.
I just got out of multiple games exactly like this. Let’s get 3 gens done in the time it takes the killer to hold W after a survivor for the first hook of the game. Pathetic. It’s why I camp and tunnel straight off the bat every game I play.
-
@BrokenSouI said:

I don't know how to infer that from a picture and a question. But alrighty
Because it’s the truth? 4 survivors on 4 separate gens is a 3 gens in 2 minutes (90 seconds more like) situation. What you do is find a 3 gen and tunnel someone until they are dead. That’s literally the only option unless you are nurse, blight, or spirit.
-
@BrokenSouI said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/260920/what-do-you-do-in-this-situation
I start either left or right (your pick) and try to push them to the next gen. So I can bother 2 people. Try to get my hit on one of them or either and hope I can push them to the next gen and hope I can repeat the process. And just sorta go from there. If given the opportunity I try to slug one while bothering another and try to get them off the gen just because they have to come pick up.
Or strategy 2. Pick the 2 gens you want to try to protect for a 3 gen and go from there.
He is complaining about the 3 gens done in 2 minutes situation that survivors love to do but then whine when the killer just murders someone immediately.
If you don’t want 3 gens done in 2 minutes there are builds for that. It will cost you almost every perk slot but it exists. 3 gens in 2 minutes is why I laugh every time a baby survivor whines about camping and tunneling
-
Tunnel, camp, run the meta, and not cry about it
-
Also, thinking the game is out of your hands as killer just means you are not playing the right builds or killer. The game is 100% yours to lose with a ton of builds.
You think tons of streamers go on 50-100+ killer win streaks because the game is balanced?
-
I would not see a 4K as a win. I would see a 3k as a win, since the game is designed to let the last survivor escape. Going for the 4K every game is a huge waste of time unless someone annoyed you enough to slug for it.
-
I dunno. I hate going against sweaty SWFs but at the same time if I played survivor often I would 100% play SWF almost all the time.
Look at this garbage. I’m rank 8 at the moment and 5/5 games I have been matched with brown ranks. I’ve dropped there from rank 1 because I play survivor so little.
You may as well just spam keys because you are not winning any other way. Loop the killer for 3+ minutes? Sorry, your entire team were in lockers during that chase. Git gud.

Yes, actually. I'd be way less annoyed if I got free points for literally being tunneled out of the game.
Ever thought about playing better instead?
-
Idk I vastly prefer killer over solo Q.
Solo Q it’s like, did you get a good team? No? Ok you lose without anything you can do about it.
I died earlier because I went to save a Meg from a trap, stepped into another trap after saving her (he double trapped the window) and she took over 6 seconds to start untrapping me and I’m like good lord all you have to do is click on me but she still could not even do that.
-
Tombstone piece as the favorite addon. Turns Myers into what Myers from the movie is like.
Double combo is probably ether 15% + bleach on clown. Those bottles are just devastating and almost no loop is safe against them.

It’s the birch tree skin, which is significantly better than her old P2 model IMO. I do that with her prestige claw and hair.
-
It’s free wins for killer right now. Slap on lethal pursuer, down someone in the first 20 seconds of the game, and collect your DC.
SWFs are abusing it like usual. Literally one of best things that has happened to me in DBD to date was a SWF offering Haddo and also abusing the exploit where you can’t pick up on the basement stairs.
Finally tunnel one out, and have 3 slugs next to the hatch. I’m BMing the survivor on the hook when two DC at the same time so the third guy gets hatch but it doesn’t open because the guy on the hook still needed to die first. EZ.
-
Cmon this has gotta be one of the most fun builds in the game. People say Starstruck Agitation nurse is OP but hag gets double the value. One shots invisible traps AND basement camping with agitation all at once.

Whatever. Victor is super strong.
You just park Charlotte next to the hooked survivor and go to town with a practically undodgeable attack from Victor. Victor is one of the best 1v1 abilities in the game.

Never had a killer cry on my profile I but I’m almost to like 350 -reps from wrecking survivors in this game.

Hoarder + Territorial and you don’t even have to waste the whole match to defend it. You could just play 2 perk Bubba until those perks proc.

Definitely Pro Vengeance. If you want to learn how to win that’s the guy you want to watch.
The stats speak for themselves. 500+ current win streak, and out of the last 1103 games he has 3-4kd 1096 of them.
I used to watch some of the bigger streamers but lost respect for many after slapping them in my games and listening to them cry in post game chat and on stream.
-
I stopped playing her mostly cause of how crap her hit box is since dedicated servers.
Build wise I just do the meta, although no ruin without a map offering cause 90% of the totem spawns are trash.
Corrupt, pop, bamboozle, and monitor usually. If survivors never cleanse monitor gets you some nice easy downs and then bamboozle to get rid of ridiculously strong tiles fast.
I probably would not go into games as her without at least 1 chase perk because she can be reduced to an M1 killer fairly easily and depending on the map M1 killers can be looped for a very long time no matter how good you are as killer.
-
I just tunnel and camp every game. 5 gens, 1 gen, what’s the difference?

I disagree. I think there is some value in discussing it. I would like to know, if you believe the current grind is a good system? Also, you can get to level 60 in WoW much faster than the grind we are discussing here. "Just accept it and adapt" is not what I'm going with. I can tell that works for you, and that's totally fine. The developers are likely aware that many players aren't concerned. That's valid.
I care. I want access to the content I would theoretically pay for in a reasonable period of time.
We are definitely advocating different perspectives here.
I’m just trying to say I don’t really care about the grind because the survivor grind is done relatively quickly and the meta is extremely strict at high ranks. Killer is camping? You have to have BT. Killer is tunneling? You have to have DS. Want to loop optimally? You need dead hard (or sprint burst).
4th slot you can use whatever but if you are not running those 3 the killer can easily just roll over the team in a minute or two. I go on absolutely insane win streaks as killer because just 1 survivor won’t be running those perks and that’s all it takes to win as killer.
And conversely, all the generators can be finished in ~5 minutes so the killer is practically forced to run multiple generator perks unless they are playing the strongest killers available.
You can have a killer with a functional build in a few days casual play and that’s about how long it will take to get good with their power anyways.
-
@egoxeno said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2297358#Comment_2297358
Just to make sure I fully understand your perspective:
There is no need to address the grind, because only a small fraction of the perks are ultimately useful?
I’m just saying they are never going to change it, and it’s probably not useful discussing it. So you might as well adapt. This is like going onto the WoW forums and complaining you need to grind to level 60 or something.
But the difference here is you can get everything you need to play the game pretty quickly. Like the survivors are just cosmetics, and nobody really uses more than a few perks on them most of the time beyond the super vets with like 5,000+ hours who could go into games perkless anyways.
Only the killers actually really need good perks, and there’s only like 6-8 perks worth using for them as well. Everything else is just garbage there’s no reason to use. So who cares if you need to grind for stuff you don’t need?
-
@egoxeno said:

That's another concern I had as a new player. Every Killer I buy will represent another oppressive RNG grinding experience, if I can ever catch up.
I hope my perspective offers something to the development team. I'm ready to ante up cash as a new player (and drag in plenty of my friends...) if the grind is reduced.
It seems like player feedback has made a difference over time. Maybe with the influx of new players, this is an opportunity to really send the message home.
There is no catching up to do. All you need is two perks on killer, corrupt intervention and pop goes the weasel, and that’s good enough for every killer to be competitive at any rank.
Survivors don’t even need perks if you are good at playing because most of their power is just their base kits. I haven’t changed my survivor build in like 2 years because the meta has never changed. I don’t buy the new survivors. You can basically fine full meta with 3 survivors to 40. Bill for unbreakable, Laurie for DS, and David for dead hard (and he has the BP grinding perk to boot).
You can be rank 1 competitive in like a week or two of playing. Like 90% of people at purple / red ranks are running meta build and I’ve seen survivors make it to red with less than 100 hours played.
-
@egoxeno said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2297290#Comment_2297290
That's an interesting perspective, but that does little to tackle the real issue for me. I want to have access to all the wonky off-meta stuff, and I am willing to put a substantial amount of time into unlocking those skills from each Killer (getting all of them to 40 will take a good while).
If I just wanted to power out meta builds, my understanding is that I would be better served not unlocking the weird teachable perks for the Killers I would presumably spend money to own.
Is the optimal solution to the grind to simply not plan on experiencing a good chunk of the game without dedicating hundreds if not thousands of hours?
I recognize that is a kind of solution, but it would seem to encourage only playing super meta builds, and meta Killers. Why not reduce the grind? Is it really necessary to gate content behind potentially hundreds if not thousands of hours?
If you play the game that long, you will end up in the ranks where you are basically forced to use the meta perks anyways.
It will only take a few games against a meta survivor team when using a meme killer build for you to get spanked hard enough to go meta too.
I routinely have 3~ gens almost complete in the first 2.5 minutes as a rank 1 killer. If you don’t have meta perks you just instantly lose those games.
-
I dunno. I keep changing my mind. Sometimes I’ll get a good map and the zombies won’t be stuck in a rock all game and I’ll think he’s OK.
Other games I load into Haddo, both zombies are stuck in a tree somewhere, and the tentacle refuses to hit a survivor over a 2 foot fence because I’m trying to go across it diagonally and I wonder why I’m not just playing pyramid head.
-
Eh it looks bad but then you realize 95% of the perks are useless, survivors are just skins, and you can have the meta builds with like 3 characters to 40 on each side.
After that you can level the niche stuff people use for 1 game and then never again.
-
I think he’s solid mid tier. I am PC though so I don’t have any performance issues.
The tentacle hit box can be a bit wonky but most of the time it works, and it’s pretty strong when you are hitting it consistently.
I love the terror radius music, especially the distant one with the spooky chanting. Gives me boss battle vibes.
I started off using the zombies as supports but now I just use them as power ups. The AI being dumb doesn’t matter much when you are just using them as stealth generators and infection boosters.

You’re not understanding the point of that. It’s to incentivise the Obsession to NOT stay constantly on gens. 3 survivors are afflicted with a DIRECT slow down, and the Obsession indirectly continues to slow the game down by trying to offset the rest of teams slower altruism abilities by going for the saves and heals wherever possible.
So although the Obsession is unaffected by the de-buff, and SHOULD stay on gens, they’re given a reason NOT to stay on gens.
What? Both healing and gens are almost equally as important. The debuff hardly matters until you have basically already won the game. If you have to tunnel someone out through DS the perk is worthless.
The only killers that should ever use it are legion and plague and they have better options. All killers have better options.
-
One where the killer spawns inside the basement. Would be thematic to start the match off down there instead of some random point on the map.

I think it's evident from any time they've not had/gotten rid of dc penalties temporarily, and the enormous flare of DCs that follows, that these DCs mostly aren't coincidental. You don't even have to look any further than this thread, even the very first reply, to see how unapologetically people do it.
Yeah it’s dumb lol. I kill someone off at 5 gens left and the three remaining survivors chain DC. I’m sure they all crashed at the same time.
I’ve had DCs almost every other game I want to say. People go down in the first 15 seconds? DC. It’s one of those times I feel like just running a super strong killer who doesn’t need addons in case I get a lobby of entitled babies.
-
I must be the only person who enjoys the salt. Survivors complaining about camping and tunneling when all 5 gens can be done in around 4.5 minutes by a good team is hilarious.
Let me think how many tentacle hits I would need to get with nemesis to 12 hook while swapping targets. It’s 32 right? Let me get 32 tentacle hits in 5 minutes so people don’t complain in the endgame chat to me. I’ll get right on that.
-
Nah. SWF is so good just in the fact you know you have good teammates who will do gens while you are being chased instead of hiding in lockers.
Keys reducing the amount of gens from 5 to 3 is still stupid OP. Just because solo Qs can’t abuse it doesn’t mean SWFs cannot. Want a free win? One person offers a map, another the hatch offering, and then the team gets 3 gens done in 2 minutes. I’ve seen survivors on like 50+ win streaks doing that.
Solo Qs can turn it into a free escape with left behind key. Solo Q matchmaking is so garbage I don’t care about abusing them either.

@vladspellbinder said:
Maybe you're just playing The Shape wrong? Hear me out.
The Shape is really good for two play styles - Perma T1 via Scratched Mirror or End Game.
In Perma T1 you have constant wall hacks and no TR so it's easy to get grabs or surprise hits. Even in the more open maps once you learn how to navigate the areas to not be seen you can get hits and grabs on totally in-the-open generators. It's a hard playstyle to adjust to compared to other Killers, the slowness alone is often quite painful, but once you get it down it is very satisfying.
On an end game build your goal isn't to get to T3 as early and as often as you can, you use it sparingly. You want out of T1 as soon as possible though, yes. But once out of T1 you stalk to 99 and then wait, getting hits and downs as you go but don't pop T3 until either you have two Survivors together or you have someone healthy who has already been hooked once. In the first scenario you can often easily down one, slug them and chase the other. If they are in a dead zone you've got two people now and even if they are not in a dead zone they are going to make that area a dead zone pretty darn fast to try and slow you down. In the second scenario you get an easy down and will likely get a kill because most Survivors wait out the T3 instead of going for the save, even if you are not camping. If they don't wait it out you can often get a hook trade if you're feeling generous or just stop the unhook.
The Shape CAN be played aggressively, but it is not his strongest kit. His insta-down is not meant to be used like the other insta-down Killers. You need to be more strategic with it, because you have a limited use of it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2292034#Comment_2292034
The big issue that people overlook is that Stalking Survivors from a distance is really bad. You get less Evil Within the further away you are. If you can get right up next to a Survivor, which isn't all that hard in T1, then it only takes a few seconds to get out of T1 and into T2. And if you forego getting a hit you can easily get into your first T3 off of a single Survivor really early. This is without either of the two gain rate add-ons and with them it is even faster.
Another thing most people don't consider if that in T2 you only have a 16 meter TR, this makes it much easier to sneak up on people for Stalk or hits than with other M1 Killers. Also in T2 you vault ever so slightly faster than normal which can really throw off some Survivors if you time it right, especially in Shack. And never underestimate the power of a double vault at an L wall, this is often better than moonwalking because people rarely ever do it so no one really expects it.
The Shape does have an aggressive playstyle that can work when done right but they are better suited to a longer game play style. When playing The Shape you need to be willing to lose three or even all five gens before your first kill but he's a very heavy snowball Killer. Slap on Blood Warden and you can go from a 0k to a 4k out of no where. Won't win you any Gatekeeper points but The Shape is not the Killer to be playing if you want to pip. No insta-down Killer is who you want to be playing if you want to pip.
There is literally no reason to play tier 1 Myers over wraith these days. Both get wallhacks but wraith is 150% speed and has a massive lunge. With silent bell he is strictly better.
I think the best way to play Myers is just tombstone people, or run him with the hair bow and ensure each tier 3 someone is getting messed up. If you pop it on someone and instantly hook them hair bow let’s you get them to half with impunity since you will still have like 75 seconds left.
I never M1 with him unless I have my 1 shot ready. I don’t use any late game builds because keys counter them too hard.
-
Yeah it can work, but you kinda need a whole build around it and even then if the killer is good they will more than likely slug and just come for you instead.
-
Idk I usually don’t care, easy win for me. I play selfish in solo Q because the game loves to put me into impossible games.
Im rank 7 right now, usually rank 1 but barely been playing survivor. My last three games were with brown ranks. I just had a game where I got found immediately by a nemesis with lethal pursuer and ran him around for a solid 2+ minutes and only 1 gen got done. I didn’t even go down. Then I did the other 3 gens that got done that game, and almost the 4th. My teammates were hiding in lockers half the time.
Eventually they ended up 2 man slugged and 1 on the hook. I just let them all die and took a key out.
Just that game was enough survivor for like a week.

The fact that he's made completely obsolete by two different killers is kinda egregious.
He desperately needs a rework.
Not obsolete since he has the tombstone piece, which is still ridiculously strong. His 1 shot still makes him better than a ton of killers because he can cut chases in half and secure kills easily.
-
The shape isn’t THAT bad but it is kinda hard to justify him over Bubba these days. You gotta mess around for ~20-30 seconds staring at people where Bubba just has a super strong 1 shot right off the bat.
At the end of the day he still has a 1 shot although Ghostface with Lethal Pursuer just spanks him cause he can get the stealth 1 shot off in the first 15~ seconds of the game.

Was just unlocking an exit gate against Nemesis when he whipped me, which infected me and it didn't interrupt my action. Why? Would that really be too strong? Is it only on the infection hit or any tentacle hit?
It’s why I’ve been running save the best on him. He’s terrible in an unhook situation and is basically just M1 at that point if the savior used a vaccine before going for the unhook.
-
I’ve been winning as him but I do hate having to hand out free sprint bursts to use my power. It’s a bit of a shame I feel the need to have save the best for last / bamboozle to handle loops and increase his damage where other strong killers I can just have the base power.
I play with sprint burst as survivor and had a match earlier where between my sprint burst, the free nemesis sprint burst, and the injured sprint burst I ended up literally across the map from where the chase started even though all I had to loop was a crappy filler pallet and an LT wall.

Well friend Tinkerer is so perfect perk. I am using it on Blight with Ruin & Undying combo. +90% of my matches 4K. And also Lightborn is good perk againts flashlight squads.
And actually Counterforce did not changed anything. Survivors are still not doing bones and losing game for that.
Sure it’s good on blight but plenty of killers can’t use it that well. Any low mobility killer almost has to combine it with discordance or you will never reach it half the time.
I have so many games where ruin undying is dead within a minute. Especially on the older maps. That’s why I prefer corrupt pop because I get value from them no matter what.
