God no. One of the main reasons oni is so boring is because his power isnt accessible at all times. Same with plague. Anything that involves you having to go to an area/something the survivors control so heavily is not good design.
Oni? Boring?
Since when was this a thing?
-
To play as, yes
because hitting multiple knives in a row just feels so... satisfying... especially while in Main Event because you just melt people
To play against tho? no

I don't think that would change anything, though.
She'd still be Nurse. She just has a longer cool down now. She'd be weaker, sure, but her problems would still be there.
Not necessarily, because like Oni it could be based on a timer or some sort of limit
yknow saying that an idea popped into my head and now I wanna write an entire post on its own thatll take me hours to write and get maybe 5 views, just like the rest of em
but it doesnt matter if people look at em or not, I have fun writing em
also gonna experiment with this since the forums are bugged atm @NomiNomad did this ping you?

Generalist for Solo Q (Bond/Kindred, Detectives Hunch, Inner Strength, Sprint Burst)
Specialist for SWF. Only people I really play SWF with nowadays are a group of buds I like to mess around with, or another group who are comp players. While I can hold my own in a chase just fine they obviously pull it off better, so I just become the gen jockey (Detectives Hunch, Overzealous, Stake Out, Resilience)
-
Nah, what she needs is to earn her power like Oni
Her power is better than Oni's Demon Mode and is available at all times, its time for a change

Circle of Healing is still good.
DS definitely needs to go back to 5 seconds. Hell, I wouldn't mind if it worked on both hook states.
DH is actually a skillful perk now and it's BETTER against Nurse too
This update has been very painful for Solo Q players. Hopefully we get changes soon.
Honestly I believed that at first too but really if you think about it, I think 3 second DS is fine.
DS didnt necessarily help you against Nurse or Blight anyway and hurted killers that didnt need to be hurt anymore than they already do like Trapper and Pig

Yes they are super rare for 2 reasons: - comp players get bored playing comp level playstyle on public servers
- Comp players don't even Q public to begin with
Killer mains just don't like losing that 1% of their matches and have a fragile ego accepting that they can't win 100% of the time. But they also can't see how they made mistakes
Even when killer mains had 100% win rate they would still complain because they didn't kill all Survivors at 5 gens left.
"Comp players don't even Q public to begin with"
You sure?

I am referring to the notification Pain Res used to give off. It used to be a very reliable way to hook someone, find the gen with the most progress and pressure it, which got killers away from the hook. They changed it the wrong way. Instead of what it does now it should give 10% regression at best and a notification.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3143909#Comment_3143909
We are talking about public matches right? Even a soft-capped killer is going to face weak teams more than half the time thanks to the matchmaking prioritizing short queue times instead of proper matchmaking.
Unless you're talking about comp matches in private lobbies there is no "high level."
If you're having trouble in public matches at "high level" so much that you have to play nasty every game, perhaps you're the weak player?
Im well aware that it was a very reliable way. Too reliable. Other than sabotaging hooks there was no way to counter it really, Killer got damage on the gen and knew exactly which gen to prioritize
It was (and still is with Surveillance) a jack of all trades

BBQ & Chili and Old Pain Resonance.
Killers have no incentive to no play nice anymore. Not that BBQ was much of an incentive but it did help. I know it helped me play nicer, I'd try for that last BBQ stack earlier in the match but now I usually have a couple people dead and the game in hand before I tackle the best looper on the team.
BBQ and Chili was only changed post trial, it still gives the exact same amount of information.
Pain Res' nerf got reverted, and even then I still think its stupid. Imagine a Survivor perk that when repairing a gen, you healed yourself and revealed the aura of the killer all at the same time.
Its a single perk slot that gives you information and gen regression that activates while simply doing your objective.
-
ehhh I'm not really a fan of this. It doesn't really fix his issues, especially the main one of being pretty boring to play against. In fact it would make it worst because:
A: Survivors would need to start holding M1 just to remove knives, similar to Legion
B: His 1v1 is already good enough and you're just allowing stealth to work with it, making him able to just appear on top of a Survivor. Theres a reason why every ranged killer has a catch with their terror radius or something similar
C: Would just make him better at camping and wouldn't really help with anything else, at least with Oni the activation time for Blood Fury is a few seconds even with both add ons that speed it up, Trickster's is half a second.
I wrote a rework for him myself a few months ago, with the goal to make him stand out a bit more from the other ranged killers by giving him 2 ways to throw his knives, and completely reworking Main Event. Planning on revisiting it to write some add ons. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/302442/my-attempt-at-a-trickster-rework#latest

-
Just reading your replies all I have to say is this
Your experience as killer on the map doesn't represent the whole playerbase, this is from some one who can navigate the map perfectly and personally I don't have a problem with the map, that being said I know I'm in the minority, and I'm not gonna pretend like I'm not

Its a strong perk when used correctly
Which is not the case for the majority of its users
-
you have a nancy pfp... and youre using Self Care!? The betrayal!!!! - Bone Enjoyer
In all seriousness, its because of the negative reputation the perk has because the majority of people dont use the perk correctly. You dont heal at every chance you get, thats VERY inefficient and that time is better spent working on gens. Sure that one heal you just got may have saved you in the moment, but it may have also cost you the game because you spent 45 seconds healing yourself. Thats literally 50% of a generator.
Only time you should be Self Caring, is to finish off a partial heal, or heal yourself during Endgame. Using it that way benefits you and the team the most.
-
Billy, Demo, Blight, Artist and Dredge are probably my top 5
EDIT: Oh and because of fun chases, and Dredge has the best chase music (to anyone who disagrees, come cowshed 1v1)
-
theyre called "Challenges"
'nuff said
-
Hyperfocus probably reduced percentages
Reassurance will probably have its cooldown increased
Better Than New will probably have a percentage increase
Wiretap is fine
Low Profile should be increased to 2 minutes and activates when youre further than 12 or 16m away from another Survivor instead of being the last Survivor
Reactive Healing is fine, but it might get a percentage increase
Wesker and his perks will most likely remain untouched (except for bug fixes)

I miss how her lullaby used to be. Like how you'd only get certain parts if she hadn't interacted with a survivor for a certain amount of time.
That's because every time she started a chase and the humming stopped, the humming would just reset back to the beginning once the chase ended. Which again, made sense because the closer you reach the end of the loop, the more impatient and frustrated she sounds.
Video here showcases the song in full: https://youtu.be/Bc0otoDm0y4 (After 5:52 it just loops back to the start)
-
Honestly I think it just needs a range increase
Not too much tho I would say 32m at most.
-
For Survivors? Probably the first version of Sprint Burst. The thing had a 20 second cooldown, which could be recovered while running since Exhaustion wasnt a thing yet. Old Self Care + We'll Make It made it possible to heal before a killer could even recover from their attack
As for killers, its hard to tell. There was Iron Grasp allowing you to pretty much bring a Survivor where ever you wanted, making it take 60% longer to wiggle (25.6 seconds). The first attempt at Hangman's Trick rework which pretty much showed you everyone on the map as long as you had some one on your shoulder (Revealed any Survivor within 16m of a hook instead of 6m, to put that into perspective Im pretty sure the game tries to spawn hooks roughly 32m away from each other) Noed is also a contender, as it used to just not be a hex totem. Additionally it reduced cooldowns on successful and missed attacks by 8% and gave a speed boost of 5%.
Man this game used to be somethin else

If you lose to a Perma T3 Myers, you or your team MASSIVELY misplayed. It takes such a monumental amount of Evil to hit T3 that you should EASILY be able to finish all the gens and escape before he reaches it
Nowadays with the gen times, if youre running perma tier 3 and a stalk add on you get it in no time

I think the bigger issue is agitation, none of that would be nearly as powerful if agitation didnt boost her above her base movement speed.
what????
Agitation doesnt matter here, if that really was the case this build would be a problem on any killer. Which it isnt, its a gimmick on pretty much everyone except Nurse.

The math has been done, so I can no longer argue with it: the grind is more. The thing I think we can all agree on is that the 20k BP nodes that you're forced to buy are stupid. Literally, who wants to do that? Spend 20k to prestige, when before it was free?
"When before it was free?"
I mean, I dont think removing every single perk, item, add on and offering is "free" but as always, go off.

Sadly there's survivors who believe that a killer not letting survivors get a free unhook is camping.
Yeah, Im well aware of that. Only thing they can do at that point is educate themselves.
I used to be one of those Survivors, realized I might be in the wrong and started playing killer. That was back in 2018, good times.
-
An Exploit is abusing unintentional game design for an advantage. Al though there are certain things that can be deemed fine by most because it requires set up and/or has counterplay (Hug Tech, Using the evironement to be able to get on top of pallets like the one on Father Campbells Chapel, etc)
For example: Back in the day as a Survivor you could stand underneath a hole and if the killer were to drop down, they would keep bouncing on the Survivors head. This would make them stuck until the Survivor moved.
In the situation you just described the 2 werent breaking any rules, you on the other hand could be reported for working with the killer, or the more specific term: Griefing.

“Better chance to win” is a fluctuating state though right? Or does camping never grant the killer a better chance to win in the correct circumstances?
Yeah, I mean when I think camping I think of the version of like, 5 gens left and theres not another Survivor in sight yet the killer still decides to pitch a tent
There are many scenarios where its in the killers best interest to stay near a hooked Survivor
-
They are
With more BP and a better chance to win
-
Best trick is to try to keep your camera on them and keep holding foward as you swing (this is much easier with a higher sensitivity if youre on controller)

You're really comparing a ten minute game of DBD to the military or a relationship?
Lol.
Good grief.
I think you're a dickhead if you load up for a ten minute game and quit for any other reason besides an actual real life emergency or you're going to ######### your pants.
There are so many single player games that our just as fun, where you can pause or quit at your heart's content without ruining the match for other people. I know in the grand scheme of life, it's no big deal. But in sense of playing a game and quitting when things don't go your way, it's such a toddler like behavior trait. It cracks me up, but at the same time it's just another daily reminder of how trashy some people are.
You do you I guess.
you underestimate the amount of times people almost ######### their pants
