  • because if its not OP/Borderline OP

    its trash

  • idk why but this whole thread really shows the true DbD Forums Experience

It debuffs the killer depending on the variation. It can increase missed attack cooldowns, make you recover from stuns slower, and in your case it took longer to break stuff.

I think it does all 3 at the same time

The game I did took longer to recover from stuns and longer to break stuff, Idk about missed attacks though

  • No

Normal challenges just give you 3 Rift Fragments, and a Master Challenge gives you 5 Rift Fragments. You need 10 of them to level up

well that is the average for survivor. its usually 2 strong players and 2 medium players. when you play soloq. its very similar. you still have to carry teammates. its just not as hopeless as it used to be before mmr where... it felt like you were doing a 1vs1 against the killer.

    -less cast time

    -faster recharge time

    -less collision on objects

-ability to use 2nd bound after vaulting

all of them would cement him as top-tier killer. he is still probably going have high-kill rate for average survivors. Its just that he could be so much more skill-expressive as a killer. they went too safe with him. sad face.

I honestly think he's fine as is, I mean of course his bugs need to be squashed but other than that he's pretty solid

i think it's easy enough to realize when you're facing high MMR players and low/mid tier players.

I mean I've been playing this game every day and the Survivors I get are mainly mediocre at best with either 1 or 2 good players. Doesn't matter if I play Survivor or Killer

    So no, not really easy.

  • Trapper - Can set down Bear Traps at a loop in the middle of chase to force a Survivor to leave it, this should only be done if there's nothing else around leaving the Survivor in a dead zone, and you shouldn't really be committing to chases all too much as Trapper anyway

Wraith - Can close the gap by using his increased movement speed while cloaked, smaller loops he can use the speed burst he gets after he uncloaks to try to get a hit

Billy - Can force a pallet drop, good chunk of loops can be curved

Nurse - Apparently one of the only killers who can counter looping

Myers - All he has really is forcing more pallet drops than normal thanks to having insta downs, but its not much and is pretty susceptible to being looped

Hag - Basically same as Trapper but you have more freedom with your traps

Doctor - Can prevent pallet drops thanks to his shock

Huntress - Can throw over pallets and windows. Loops that don't have tall enough walls can also be thrown over

Bubba - Can force pallet drops

Freddy - Has Snares which pretty much forces Survivors to leave a loop, if they're asleep

Pig - Ambush can potentially scare a Survivor to leave a loop, but isn't very reliable.

Clown - His power is all about anti-looping

Spirit - Apparently one of the only killers who can counter looping

Legion - Can get an easy first hit but is pretty susceptible to being looped afterwards. Forces more pallet drops because Survivors are almost always injured

Plague - Corrupt Purge. Enough said

Ghost Face - Has an insta down and can force pallet drops more often thanks to it, shouldn't commit to chases as him tho since his kit is focused around stealth

Demogorgon - Shred can zone and force pallet drops, as well as being a nice anti loop tool

Oni - Big stick big scary

Deathslinger - Can shoot a Survivor before they reach a pallet, can hit a Survivor over windows. Shorter loops he can also drag himself around a loop to get a hit

Pyramid Head - He doesn't care about walls

Blight - A crackhead moving at mach speed is a pretty good anti looping tool if you ask me

Twins - Charlotte can be used to body block certain parts of a loop and Victor moves very fast

Trickster - Can throw over loops with short walls, and loops with tall walls he can usually get 2 or 3 throws when turning a corner

Nemesis - Eats pallets like a champ and can hit over them, as well as windows

Pinhead - Can prevent Survivors from reaching a pallet or window, power is very similar to Clown but has built in game delay added on and is a bit harder to use

Artist - Setting crows at a loop can force Survivor to leave or take a hit, also she doesnt care about walls

Sadako - Doesn't really have much anti loop, manifesting does have that flicker effect which can throw some Survivor off guard but isnt very reliable. Shouldn't be looping her to begin with as the rest of her kit doesn't help it

Dredge - Leaving a Remnant can force a Survivor away from a loop, or force them into a mindgame. Can also teleport to a locker in the middle of a chase to close the distance

Wesker - A crackhead with a plan moving at mach speed is a pretty good anti looping tool if you ask me. (Now with pallet vaulting!)

Ngl chief I think its a bit more than just Spirit and Nurse that have anti-loop

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Lethal Blink is the score event that happens when you hit someone after a blink before fatigue happens.

Not that she even needs changes in the first place outside of range and 3 blink add-ons.

After thinking about it, yeah you're right. She does have counter play in some instances and Range and 3 Blink needs to go. How ever to say thats all she needs? I don't know about that. Honestly at this point I'd rather see her get a smaller TR but a large Lullaby, so Starstruck/Agi isn't as much of a problem. Or just make Lethal Blinks special attacks and buff her base movement speed.

Still keeps the people who enjoy Nurse happy, as the general feel of her is still very much the same, while ridding of the frustrating elements the majority of Survivor players have while versing her.

  • yknow the nurse isnt gonna kiss on the lips because youre defending her this much right?

I mean its also pretty clear he doesnt play the game all too much with only 1k hours in 4 years.

    Also, *survivor

  • Honestly, I think this would be a great idea

Incentivizing people to play more killers allows the devs to gather more data for them and get a better idea of their viability. It also might give them a better idea as to why the killer isnt picked as much

  • @jesterkind said:

Much as I agree that solo queue needs improvements, I'm not sure what they could do to fix those specific problems? People giving up and the risk of getting just generally bad teammates are kind of the unfixable problems with solo queue, the stuff they can actually do (like increased passive information sharing) aren't really going to stop those things from happening.

Give them more information and ways to communicate

Big reason why killers are able to get away with half the ######### they do right now is because Solo Q's just don't know whats going on, a series of unfortunate events happen and they just feel like they have no chance. There's not another game out there where the Solo Q experience is as bad as DbD's.

  • bro grades dont even matter for matchmaking

why do you care so much? just play the game normally and youll eventually hit Iri 1. No need to go out of your way to get it

I mean man, as a slinger main I have to admit, the only reason I 4k or wreck a team is because they let that happen, they could mop the floor with me if they really wanted to, but for some reason they trhow the match, you offer convincing argumenta but nothing will change my mind that the second slinger faces good players he is just plain bad.

All depends on the Slinger player as well

  • @squbax said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3167072#Comment_3167072

Mostly yeah, but she has good addons, if she gets a shot it will be guaranteed damage unlike slinger, can hit through pallets, and has infinite range, making slinger just a downgrade, I main slinger and frankly im stupid af, which is the only reason I play him over huntress, that and the fisherman skin.

Because tbh there is no reason to pick slinger when huntress is a character that exists.

Her add ons are about the same as Slingers, they're either decent or complete garbage.

"if she gets a shot it will be guaranteed damage unlike slinger" I mean its guaranteed damage for Slinger as well if the Survivor ain't injured, and it leaves them with having to mend which wastes time, giving him basekit slowdown. (it ain't much, but its something) You also shouldnt be going for shots you aren't guaranteed to get a hit if a Survivor is injured.

Another thing thing is he only takes 0.4 seconds to ADS, and his "warning" sound is VERY subtle and you ain't hearing that in the middle of a chase. Compare that to Huntress' which takes 1.25 seconds for a much slower projectile. To reach the same speed as his harpoon she needs to fully charge a hatchet, which is 3 seconds.

He also doesn't have a Lullaby like Huntress but a bigger TR, granting him better synergy with perks.

Im not saying Slinger is better than Huntress, she definitely has more upsides that I didn't mention here. But Slinger definitely does a few things better than her and is far from a weak killer. His position in this tierlist is pretty fair

  • @Alcuin said:

Artist, Twins, Huntress, and (arguably) Oni are S-Tier. C-Tier killers don't exist, much less D-Tier. Every killer is at least B-Tier. Wesker is A and Pinhead is S against solos.

over time the standard for killers rises, so no matter what there will always be D tier killers. Hell if Freddy was added the way he was now in 2017 he would be considered A tier back then, simply because majority of killers sucked back then

  • @squbax said:

He has a fully telegraphed animation and a warning sound how is it that a survivor gets sniped for example?, each shot/snipe I get I know for a fact the survivor could have dodged that.

Can't the same be said for Huntress?

  • @squbax said:

How on earth is slinger that high, dodging his gun is easy af now.

if you go for the most obvious shots maybe

  • @Brimp said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3162989#Comment_3162989

Not necessarily god loops that make you unhittable but damn near. Coal tower is a good example. You just need decent rng and by the time you get hit you already traveled around the map from main back to main, badham main is legit entity block the window or leave, double window haddonfield house, the entirety of gideons, cowshed (dont need to explain that one), dead dawg shack to main window, etc.

Like you still catch people eventually but by the time you do the match is over cause once everyone sees those setups... those are getting ran the entire game.

There is nothing in the game nowadays that even comes CLOSE to what it was like in 2016

  • believe it or not, there is actually a difference

the hat is tied to the head piece, not the torso

  • time for the dumbass blue bird to make a big deal about this

  • Probably one of, if not the most infamous things for both sides...

    For Killers:

Old Legion. A mess of a killer with genuinely no counterplay. If he wanted to down you, you were going down. But first we need to know why. Deep wounds use to work a lot differently back then, instead of the bar being paused while you were running it would only pause if you were in a chase. Even if you were Mending the bar would still go all the way down to 1% until you either finished the Mend or let go, which would make you go down. Because of this, a strategy was quickly discovered and it was called 'Moonwalking Legion'. Because Deep Wounds only went down in chase you could simply apply Deep Wounds to a Survivor, exit Frenzy and then turn around and walk backwards to avoid initiating chase so the Deep Wounds bar would continue to go down. Once the bar was close enough you could turn back around, activate Frenzy and stab the Survivor again to down them. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. If a Survivor already suffering from Deep Wounds was stabbed in Feral Frenzy, their bar would go down by 10 seconds. Another thing is Feral Frenzy didn't need to be fully charged to activate, it simply needed to be at least 10%. So the moment a Survivor vaulted a window or pallet you could just activate Frenzy, vault towards them and stab them again. Now a Survivor could Dead Hard or use any other means to avoid a hit, but there was another problem. Missing an attack in Feral Frenzy didn't cancel it. The game pretty much forced you to either use the Moonwalking or the multi stab playstyle as well, because Legion was a 4.4m/s (110%) movement speed killer. There is not a killer in the history of DbD that made Survivors DC more than Legion. And if any of you are curious as to how that looked, heres a great video by PainReliever showcasing it: https://youtu.be/peFfFHqBk-c

    For Survivors:

Old Mettle of Man. A mess of a perk with basically no counterplay, it gained stacks from Basic Attacks instead of Protection Hits. Unless you were Nurse (because she was bugged) or you had a Special Attack there was no way of avoiding this perk. And there weren't many killers who had Special Attacks, most recent chapter at the time was Demise of the Faithful, meaning the only killers that could avoid it were: Trapper, Billy, Huntress, Bubba and Plague. Now you might realize that there are 2 killers that should be on this list, and thats Pig and Legion. Their Special Attacks nowadays actually counted as Basic Attacks back in the day, meaning perks like Sloppy Butcher and Dark Devotion would work. (NoeD how ever wouldn't work with a Feral Frenzy hit). This meant that after taking 3 normal Basic Attacks, you just tanked the next hit at absolutely no cost. At this point in the game as well, insta heals were still a thing. Styptic Agents would instantly heal 1 health state upon use, and Syringes would instantly heal 2 health states. Meaning you could activate MoM on your first down.

I'm just thankful both of these didn't last very long

Because getting rid of all predictive options means they have nothing left they could even chance a success on, and if they try to duck and weave side to side, they lose a lot more distance than you do?

tf you mean getting rid of all predictive options?? just marching towards the Survivor had the same effect

    Make it make sense man

Can you please learn what you’re talking about? The reason the ADS spam into instant shot was busted was because it means anything a survivor might use in response to a potential shot is effectively made useless because a shot can be faked over and over. Eg, Dead Hard, trying to dodge behind/duck behind cover and losing distance, etc. Instant ADS alone is already unhealthy because it’s unreactable, ADS spam nullifies even any predictive escape attempts (eg, playing around Deathslinger being likely to try and shoot when you come near a pallet/window)

If you don’t want nonsense to be pointed out, don’t post on a public forum?

"The reason the ADS spam into instant shot was busted was bceause it means anything a survivor might use in response to a potential shot is effectively made useless because a shot can be faked over and over. Eg, Dead Hard, trying to dodge/duck behind cover and losing distance, etc."

Whats the difference between that and the Deathslinger literally just marching towards the Survivor? You even mention that it was instant ADS yourself. Why try to force a reaction when the shot is already unreactable??

  • @SuzuKR said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3156983#Comment_3156983

Deathslinger was changed because the survivor literally had zero options against ADS-unADS spam into instant shot. Please actually learn what you’re talking about.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3157002#Comment_3157002

It’s embarrassing you still think best = OP. Also that you don’t see the nonsense in just making something a worse version of another thing instead of its own thing.

all you were doing by ads spamming was slowing yourself down, a Survivor couldnt react to his ADS animation anyway so if they were attempting to dodge they were just slowing themselves down as well.

Also please, go annoy some one else.

"Survivors had their turn, now its her turn."

Dude the goal is a balanced game, not some tit for tat bs. Remember when everyone was complaining about Deathslinger being completely OP and unfair to survivors? This is the same nurse you were facing back then, only now with more b**ching. She's just the "nerf this" survivor main flavor of the month ATM, in a day or so you'll all be asking for Wesker nerfs.

Or another way to put it, ever play Hunt:Showdown? A ways back they introduced a bow into the game, and within 24 hours the HS forums were filled with posts about how it was completely OP and needed to be nerfed. But it never was, it just seemed that way because everyone, including the best players was running around with one. And if all the best DBD killers start playing optimal Clown you'll be asking for Clown nerfs.

Play some killer and get a grip.

The goal is to have a balanced game yes, but also for that balanced game to be fun and enjoyable. Thats the whole reason why patch 6.1.0 happened. It addressed the most common complaints from both sides. Also people weren't complaining that Deathslinger was OP, they were complaining that we was simply unfun because just his presence alone was enough to zone you, and you weren't going to react to something that had a 200ms animation. And no, its not just the "nerf this survivor main flavor of the month", Nurse has been an issue for as long as she's been in the game and this last developer update gave us a perfect example. Nerfing a mediocre perk for the entirety of the cast except for Nurse, and what do ya know? The perk gets nerfed. (Yes I'm talking about Awakened Awareness).

Yes I have played HS, not enough to give a ######### about balance I just like running around with a Bomb Lance and sticking unsuspecting people while taunting them in VC. I do remember when the bow was added and don't really remember having an issue with it. But it just goes to show that no matter what side you play or even what game you play, every one will think that something new is busted because they refuse to learn. Take Off the Record or Reassurance for example.

Also I played during the time when Clown got released, and yes people were calling for nerfs myself included because he was new, and they didn't know how to deal with him yet. Instead of nerfing him they buffed him, and pretty quickly the call for nerfs dwindled. You can see the same situation with every single killer out there, because I and many others loved to mistake 'Frustrating' with 'Overpowered'. This is something you still see people fall for to this day.

Also, yeah I never thought of playing killer mb, let me go do that real quick

    image.png image.png image.png

I know, shocking right? A killer player who doesn't victimize himself. But it just looking for a good time

Adding a bad map doesnt makes a killer insanely worse though. But literally all maps got worse for Billy and his collisions messed up when he got reworked. Also sometimes you can just bump an already dropped pallet instead of breaking it. All of these thing were not in the game before the map reworks and 4.1.0 patch.

No, its not a bad map that nerfed them

Now, knives or hatchets wont always spawn in lockers anymore. They only spawn when Huntress or Trickster are in play.

In all seriousness tho, all the spots that have weird collisions he wasnt able to curve or use his chainsaw properly anyway, like Yamoaka ruin tiles.

If anything Billy benefited from the Realm Beyond because it turned one of his worst maps to one of his better ones, that map being Ormond. Because when they gave it the overhaul a lot of the tiles became slippery, which allows easy curving. Any map he was good on before he is still good on, and most maps he struggled with, well its the same thing

  • Are you actually getting those hooks? Or are you getting hook stages?

If a Survivor goes from stage 1 to stage 2, that only counts as 1 hook. Same goes if they die on first hook and so on

  • If anything happens to any of their voices its probably gonna be similar to Steve and Nancy where they just change the pitch/speed it up

She already loses all progress on partially charged blinks if she decides to blink during its recharge; you don't think that's punishing enough?

She is not brushing off any mistakes; miscalculating blinks is the difference between winning or losing the game at standard and higher levels of play. Even one missed blink can mean game over for the Nurse player. Have you heard the expression floating around the DbD community/forums that you can't make one mistake as killer without losing the game fairly often? If you don't feel at least some level of truth to the sentiment.. you probably haven't tried enough killer at non-noob levels of play. Because wowee do I resonate with it whenever I play killer (after thousands of hours of play since 2016)!

    Edit: typo.

No she doesnt, that was a bug and it was fix back when they gave her the QoL changes she needed

She starts charging when a blink is 99% charged, she'll keep that partial charge until she goes back into fatigue

  • @FriendlyKiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/342973/how-would-you-nerf-balance-nurse

Nothing. I don't know how long you've been playing this game but Nurse was already nerfed. So was Spirit. And Deathslinger. And Freddy. And Hillbilly. All as a result of this survivor main echo chamber that picks a strong killer, designates them "unfair", and dc's/cryposts about them until they wear the devs down. So we've gone full circle and come back to Nurse.

Might I suggest survivors try getting better at the game?

Just like killers do with Survivor perks?

First it was Sprint Burst, then Self Care, then D Strike, then Exhaustion perks as a whole, then Balanced Landing, then D Strike again, then Dead Hard, then CoH, and CoH again, and again, and finally, D Strike for a 3rd time.

We already had 50% killrate 1 year ago on Fractured Cowshed which is deemed one of the most Survivor sided maps in the game, yet here we are with patch 6.1.0 and yet killers are still crying to keep their beloved Nurse. Survivors had their turn, now its her turn.

Might I suggest killers try getting better at the game?

See I can play the Us vs Them game too, it aint that hard.
