I suppose my point was to your inference that Hatch is a "balance" change that is relevant to the Killer vs Survivor asymmetry.
It isnt. It pertained primarily to resolving what I said above regarding conflicting priorities for Survivors from the way it was implemented before. As to Moris, when they became post-2nd Hook, they lost any relevance in Killer vs Survivor asymmetry also.
Neither of these are the kinds of balance issues OP is addressing regarding perks, and especially these new blessing ones that piggytail onto the Hex system and Totem mechanic (and arguably not very well).
I mean in my opinion they were balance changes, but also fixed the issues youre stating as collateral.

Idk why you are talking
If you don't have anything useful to say
and you do?
If you honestly think you only have a chance as Nurse in pubs the problem is not the game
-
Ok... but some one else replied to me saying that it took an eternity to make changes. And I simply said its not a survivor exclusive thing
You even replied to that one, so again. Whats your point with this whole hatch thing?
-
@Rhoska said:
Operative term: "Were" more problematic.
Since then, they have not been problematic in the least, and have no reflection on balance whatsoever.
Hatch was not a "balance" problem. But it was creating conflicting imperatives for Survivors that was leading to unsatisactory results in game experience especially for solo-qers abandoned by SWF teamers with their keys etc, or even when 2 soloquers are left and both of them just wait for the other to die at the Hatch.
This Hatch solution now is much better, and like the Mori above it, has very little impact on "balance", and tbh I question a bit if a Killer gets unduly upset that a Survivor reaches it first.
In this format it creates a nice final "mini-game" between Survivor and Killer.
More concerning for a Killer is if slug X over there is gonna pop Unbreakable while he is watching the hook Y over here that it doesnt jump off the hook, and either of them then starts the whole circus show again. Have to leave the slug X down too, cos maybe lost count and dont know if he has DS or not.
Survivors being left behind were not complaining NEARLY as much as killers being essentially robbed of their kills.
Also this whole thing started because some one else said it takes an eternity for them to do changes and I simply said it was for both sides, not just one.
So I have no idea where youre getting at with this whole Hatch spiel

It is so far from guaranteed, it's not even funny. You can just run up and unhook as survivor, and fake it out if you need to, but it's completely free because the game refuses to give the killer a grab. Have 2 or more people run at the hook, and it's pretty much guaranteed that the hooked person gets off, because one will unhook and the other will body block.
Back in the day, you could unhook survivors from all directions, only the front. And killers would regularly stand in front of the hook and that survivor would have no chance of escaping.
Yes, it was guaranteed

Moris dont make much of a difference, as they require two hook status, and third hook would be fatal anyways.
They dont even necessarily save any time from carrying to final hook, as the animations have their own duration anyways.
They dont have a significant effect ingame, except as flavor.
Hatch AND Moris both are not really a balance issue.
On Hatch part, however, it was leading to some "toxic" behavior by other Survivors towards teammates which was not conducive to a good match.
Mori's took 4 years to fix.
At first they were available on first down, didnt even need a hook.
Then they changed it to only require one hook.
And only recently has it changed to 2 hooks
Mori's were MUCH more problematic than the hatch and keys

If BHVR doesn't want to bring back the amazing game that DBD once was, then I am willing to do it for them.
Its not about DbD being an amazing game or not, its about the community.
The community is at a point where no matter what is done, theyll find something to complain about and cause an outrage. This midchapter is a perfect example. It had so many positive changes yet people only focused on the slinger and spirit nerf which barely did anything to their viability but just made them more fun to go against.
Its not the devs fault that the community takes this game like its a god damn eSport, the community is gonna kill the game well before the devs are

First blink should be used to eliminate the majority of options the survivor would have to avoid a hit.
- If theyre far away close about 60-75% of the gap between. If they keep running use your second blink to catch up and if they double back you get a hit
- If they run behind cover blink next to it, this way if they double back theyll run into you and if they keep running youll see where they are
- Only use one blink to traverse around the map, and save the second one in case you find some one
- A common misconception with the Nurse is she has to predict, which actually makes her a lot harder to pick up. The skill you get as Nurse is limiting survivor options which in return wont make you predict, but react accordingly. Prediction is something youre gonna have to do how ever in maps with lots of LoS blockers or indoor maps

In a perfect scenario where DBD returned to be the same game that I loved, with another Winter Solstice Event on top of it?
Hell yeah, I would.
I dont think the game can return to that state. Were at a point where no matter what BHVR does the community will have a fit about it.
Im almost positive that if Hallowed Blight were to come back, the community would claim that "oh, its just holding mouse 1 again".
Why do I say this? Midnight Grove is not a bad event, its actually pretty solid. Yet people are treating it like its worst than Eternal Blight.
This games downfall will be its own community

Player behavior related to Hatches was always a Survivor problem, not a Killer one.
Its Survivors that made the Hatch a problematic mechanic, for themselves (and the Killer).
Killer has little to no control of the hatch, now or before, except stomping it shut.
Just like how killers made certain things problematic like Mori's.
Both sides have had and still have problematic things that are out of their control.

to be honest i'm not sure if that's a good example given it took them an eternity to finally deal with that
It takes them an eternity to deal with anything frustrating on both sides.
And honestly I cant blame them, when you have such a whiny community who have some of the worst takes on balance. Its really hard to tell what's actually unbalanced and whats fine especially if they look at data and everything is seemingly fine

I know.
I lost my last ones when I prestiged my Freddy, but that was mostly on me.
I got extremely angry that they were retired. Not to mention that no Bloodpoints were given to compensate.
Yeah I have a few moonlight offerings that are just sitting in some of my characters inventories and old common and uncommon map offerings. So I know how you feel.
But me having those is also the reason I refuse to prestige Jake, Laurie and Feng. As well as level up Jeff since he has Winter Party Starters and Winter Mystery Boxes in his Web

For Honor gets:
-A new menu
-2 new outfits (Trapper and Huntress)
-2 new Executions (Trapper and Huntress)
-A new Signature (Hatch Escape)
-AI Minions were given DBD masks (Legion for the Knights, Oni for the Samurai, and Trapper for the Vikings)
-And a brand new "Survivor of the Fog" gamemode where two teams play a Domination-style map whilst an AI-controlled raid boss The Trapper with his chase music, red stain, heavy breathing going around setting traps and 2-shotting people (but can be overwhelmed for extra points) with props around the map that are from DBD (gens, audio ques, hooks, repainted doors to look like lockers)
DBD:
-a Viking Helmet charm....
Come on BHVR, couldn't even do a For Honor themed skin or something ? Like not only is this disappointing for your players it low-key looks rude as hell, like if I ran a game I know I wouldn't collaborate with BHVR if I knew that, after making a new game mode, multiple animations, two outfits, and a brand new lobby to represent their game, and all I got in return to represent mine is a little key ring helmet that's barely noticeable in-game or might never be used. I never even played For Honor, just wants me to quit this game for the month or so and play For Honor special event instead. Maybe the people that works at BHVR could take some lessons from the For Honor devs on how to really please the fans cause if all you can do is a give us a charm..... *face palm* IDK what else to say, but BHVR has the laziest devs ever if all they can do is give us a charm.
I mean with that logic, For Honor looked rude as hell when collaborating with Samurai Shodown. A 2d fighting game, which was able to keep the identity of a character almost perfectly.
And For Honor didn't have anything added from Shodown.
Also I'm pretty sure there are a few ex For Honor devs that have joined BHVR. I can guarantee this is not the last time For Honor and DbD will collab

Yes. But he still sucks as a whole lol.
His chase is just a tad bit weaker than Huntress', just because he's a weaker Huntress doesn't mean he's an absolute garbage killer.
Its like saying Spirit (Old Spirit), who does VERY well in chase and doesn't offer much counter play is absolute garbage just because Nurse does a better job than her, which of course just isn't the case.

Oh. I'm aware of his strengths. But for all intensive purposes. And playing in a way that survivors deam "fair" He's god aweful and a dumpster fire killer. And that's sad to say. Beings I like trickster. It's like ralph said. "Why would you use this killer" When he's 100 % right. Huntress can camp just as good as trickster with oak haft
Even when playing a way that seems fair, he still has one of the most lethal chase abilities in the game.
No matter the skill of the survivor, they will go down eventually.

With trapper buff..I can't say it's not close to trickster being the worse now. Legion still takes the cake though. He's a killer with a power that is literally useless. Other then getting a free first hit.
He's one of the killers with the most lethal chase abilities in the game. He suffers greatly how ever from certain maps which makes him pretty map dependent. In door maps are pretty rough for him for obvious reasons, and larger maps because he doesn't have any form of map traversal.
His strengths tho being he pretty much gets a guaranteed down at short loops and in dead zones. He's also (unfortunately) one of the best campers, he's able to easily down the savior and possibly the person that was just saved depending on the surroundings of the hook. Where he really shines is the basement. Trickster is NASTY in the basement and he's probably one of the scariest killers when some one gets hooked down there.
He really isn't as bad as people say he is
-
Trickster is FAR from the worst killer in the game
Also there is nothing forcing you to do the challenges

Oh yea..Let me get right up taking 15-20 seconds of my time multiple times. Drop chases. Not be in chases. To have to snuff out bullshit totems. That time sink is totally fair between survivor and killer 👌
You said yourself they were wasting time abusing main building, so if they go there you know at least one of them isnt on a gen.
Sounds like to me you dont know how to manage your time properly
-
I only do it if a team BM's, thats going out of their way to attempt to piss me off but with the time spent in this game, not much can.
So really to me its just getting the last laugh

@Tower_XVI said:
I don't get it. Is waiting at the doors to teabag that important to you? I think that's bad enough but what is with survivors who wait around after the game is clearly over just to press ctrl a couple times at the gate? Why? What's the point? How is that fun for you? Standing there for however long while the EGC ticks away?
I do no get it.
I'm not trying to insult you just make a point, there a moments where people's feelings from previous matches may infect the the current. You could catch a teammate's grief or even last games. The game is rife for bullying, if you find it getting to you, you might want to switch sides or take a break.
The classic ignore the original post to bring up an entirely different problem, classic

Ah yes...The "boons can be snuffed instantly" Tell me that as I had to make my way upstairs in ironworks several times last night because they kept abusing main building for loops and healing..Please tell me how easy it is to just "snuff it out"
Ok.. then go upstairs and snuff it out. Realize that its much faster for you to go up there, and snuff it out than it is for them to go up there, bless it, then go back down.
The entire process of doing so probably takes them 30-40 seconds just for 1 Boon Totem. Thats time spent that isnt on gens which could of otherwise been about 50% of a gen.
-
In that situation not much since you're inexperienced with Demo.
But there is likely LOTS of things you could of done better and a lot of opportunities that you missed simply because youre playing a killer youre not used to.
Boon totems take 16 seconds to Bless, and can be snuffed basically instantly. A survivor blessing a totem twice is just short of half the progress of a generator. And thats not taking account if its a hex totem which takes even longer, or the time it takes to find/reach said totem.

When Spirit phases you will hear a directional phase sound even if you're in the terror radius.

Just give solo q survivors information like built in kindred or perma aura reveal for their teammates. Also give more information on the HUD like what if a survivor is in chase, healing, cleansing, being chased, etc. Give them tools that will benefit them but not SWF.
This way you bring Solo Q closer to SWF without punishing people who simply want to play with their friends

Seriously? Was that the best thing you could think of? dude i been playing LSG all my life, the difference is that a lot of those games doesnt have the balance problem like dbd. lets put for example COD.
if in COD one weapon is better than any other and they nerf it, the nerf applies to ALL PLAYERS, the same is with halo, counter strike, battlefield, etc. what is the difference with dbd? that here the nerf applies for a single side (killers) and for a specific character of that side, while the other side (survivors) only receives buffs.
But yeah, keep defending behaviuor...
Yeah it is, because Im putting in just as much effort as you are.
This game doesnt have that much of a balance problem either, at least for the average casual player
What problem does it have? a whiney community who cant handle losing.
Also save me the hassle of saying survivors only receiving buffs and killers nerfs. The slinger nerf is in the same patch as the trapper and plague buff as well as a hatch and key nerf.
Also look back 4 or 5 years ago and tell me survivors were weaker back then. When they had ######### like infinites, 30+ pallets being the norm for every map, ACTUAL bs perks, vaccum pallets and the list goes on.
BHVR ######### up a lot, but the state of the game is the best its ever been balance wise and thats a fact.

One of these is a massive issue, and the other is Tombstone.
One of them wastes a bit of time
The other deletes you from the game for simply holding M2 with no drawback
