DH is strong if you don't know it's coming. Once you know they have it, it's so easy to counter. Maybe practice more? Also not being a jerk just honestly practice more. Same goes for NOED on killers. It's OP as hell but ONLY if you don't cleanse totems or happen to find it. With your logic Spine Chill should also be one time use since silent killers would have been able to sneak up and get me if it wasn't for that unlimited use perk. Or Lithe lets me get away from the killer, iron will prevents a killer from hearing me grunt when he would have found me without it. There's no end to this kind of "nerf" talk. The best solution is learn how to counter it. This one for instance is easy to counter IF you know it's coming.

if they're being camped, not being saved, or they thinkt hey'll get tunneled I don't blame em since it's minutes spent that could go into a match where they could make some bloodpoints and/or have some fun. you have to remember they aren't workers, they're players... just like you. if it isn't gonna be funf or them, and they'll not make anything for it happening so early and feeling like they'll probably get tunneled before they get many points being the first guy hooked... they're gonna wanna not waste their time there. The time adds up eventually into whole entire matches worth of time that could net them a lot of bloodpoints from other matches combined together. Basically, they're either not having any fun, just had a match or two where they got camped or tunneled and don't wanna put upw ith it again, or they're leaving bloodpoints on the table... time is money is the saying and bloodpoints are the game's money.
Once the cakes are gone it's gonna happen more often since killers seem to like tunneling the first guy hooked, and the reason you may have seen it spike lately is because lately myself I've noticed fewer cakes being used by survivors. So they just realize they're not really losing anything and the next match could have many more cakes or at least some cakes. It's a practical decision considering the time spent for no gains and having no fun as well. I expect it to happen much more often once cakes are gone, or people start saving them for the next double bp event or something. It just makes sense, people don't log on to run a soup kitchen they log on to have fun or make bp and dot heir prestige or get teachables they need unless they're the sort just gets on to troll other survivors and the killers.
That's absolutely a horribly way to look at it. "I'm not having fun because I got found too fast so I'm going to make the game not fun for 4 other people". Sounds like entitled children crying to me. Not every match is going to be "fun" because a lot of times you have to sweat for the win. That's the nature of competitive games. If you can't handle competition then maybe find a single player adventure game to play instead of constantly ruining other people's gaming experience because you can't handle itπ€· it's absolutely a huge problem and needs a change.
-
If I have games back-to-back where we totally destroy a killer I usually let him hook and kill me just to be a good sport. I couldn't careless about winning every game I just like to have a fun game. As killer if I play sweatys I usually go for the 4k but if I mop a team I'll let the last guy or two farm some points so they don't get nothing. It's really all about having some fun. I love a good sweaty match though. If you get that mad at tea bagging maybe you should see a therapist.

What? If you are greedy for items like that you hide them.
Right? And I mean this was at the very start of the game. She dropped her medkit for a key so I swooped it so it didn't go to waste. Then she cried after she too hatch that I left her to die because I took her medkit lol

LOL wut???
As a survivor main, I fail to see the logic here.
- Losing a medkit and gaining a key is literally always an upgrade
- How did she expect to escape through hatch and also get her medkit back????
THATS WHAT IM SAYING π dude she was saying I left her to die and I'm sitting there struggling in hook like π€·π€¦ π
I told her she should have left key in the chest and kept the medkit until the end if she really needed the key she knew where it was. She said I'm not a team player and I would have taken the key anyways. Didn't realize people we're entitled to every item on the map. Not to mention she hid the key so no one could have found it anyway lol.

Are you sure about that? Weβre you here when all the polls made voted to let Nurse keep her basekit?
Yes I was and nurse is still one of the strongest killers in the right hands. She's a high skill killer anyways so comparing someone like her to billy who gets an easy insta down with no cool down other than missed attacks is on two different levels. He can cross map easily. Granted he's just as loopable as any killer but again it all deals with level of skill. Billy takes far less skill to use. They are trying to up that by making you play smart or suffer consequences
-
JUST WAIT UNTIL PTB for f+&k sake. You don't know how it's going to turn out. Billy is still really strong. It this makes him too weak they will remove it.

If you are getting "tunneld" it's either a camping killer which means struggle while your team does gens or until you get rescued with Borrowed Time or your team mate pulled you off at a bad time and the killer slugged an easy target (which it is his objective to kill you).
If you get tunneld a lot use anti-tunnel builds like DS/Unbreakable , DS/Soulguard, DeadHard/IronWill/QuickandQuiet. The 3rd build I use a lot but you have to be good at mind gaming to really utilize it.
Sometimes you just lose games that's how it is. Don't be salty if you get camped and ######### on hook. Be a team player and struggle until the end so the rest have some kind of chance.

so after i finished a match with my friend. the game kicked me off of the lobby and i went back to the main menu and it said that there was a unknown error. so i tried to join my friends lobby and when i was there she said she couldn't see me. so i closed out the app and joined her again but this time i couldn't see that she was ready up and it just kept doing that so basically i cant play survivor with my friends and i know my other friend has the same problem.
Check and make sure your guys's games are both up to date. If there's a patch you missed it won't let you play together if one of you doesn't have it. Other than that I'm not sure man:/

3 mercys a day? If you're crashing 3 times in a day you shouldn't be playing the damn game.
That's why I said up to 3 so they can decide what's a good balancing point. I'd say 2 make the most sense if we are talking about server consistency until we transfer to 60hz servers then it could reduce to 1.
-
I like most of the concept of this and it's really well thought out but I don't really like the power and the perks need some work on functionality.
For part of his power I would say a better option would be to allow him to either release balloons or tie them down to locations. The balloons emit a terror radius and if a survivor pops the balloon or comes to close to the balloon they get a little jump scare causing the killer to get am auditor que of where they are. The number of balloons would need to be played around with.
As for a second part of his power he could be able to hide in lockers and emit no terror radius. How freaking scary would it be to hear a locker open behind you and there he isππ

they could unplug their router. simple enough.
Apex is not a good comparison for this either, because that game has lots of players a match (100 I think) so even if someone DC's it's often not noticeable.
Personally I'd prefer a Bot to replace DC'd players.
It's not about how noticeable it is in the match it's about the mechanics behind it to discourage people from disconnecting π€¦ dude use your head just a little. Unplugging the router STILL MAKES YOU DISCONNECT FROM THE MATCH. Which means you get ban time after the 2nd freebee is used up. No offense just tired of no one using their basic thinking skills here.

Personally I play survivor the most because I used to be a killer main and it was just too mindlessly easy. I win way less as survivor because I have to rely on randoms to do their job or I'm screwed. I also don't play with keys because they defeat the purpose of the objective. if you're that bad at killer to where you have trouble almost every game than you really need to work on your skills or find a new killer main that suits your play style more. I'm extremely good at looping killers in mind gaming and I still get caught 50% of the time. Killers have increasing advantages of winning a chase the longer it goes where as survivors are more likely to lose a chase unless they break it off. The trade off is if it killer stays in chase too long generators will get done. that's where knowing when to break off and went to pursue makes all the difference

I personally hardly ever deal with "gen rushing". I win the large majority of the games I play. I find I control gens pretty well.
But, to answer your questions doing gens efficiently is just survivors doing their job.
there are some rare cases of teams rushing gen's but that just means the killer isn't putting enough pressure on generators with perks or the survivors are just really good at holding down at gen's while a chase is going. The problem is there's just so many bad survivors out there that when a good team comes along people scream "gen rush".

Yeah I'd leave too after being downed within the first 20 seconds because of jacked spawn points.
She was sprinting in the open, ran circles after first hit instead of getting max distance from the hit speed boost and then got stuck going up the stairs. Her own damn fault π

That's why you give 2 or 3 Freebees to prevent true crashes from penalizing you π€· it's like I'm repeating myself π€¦ I get DCed by the server every so often so I'd say 2 is a safe number.

I wasnt talking to you, I was talking to the guy that said there should be a mechanism to detect if your game crashed and spare you a penalty.
But in regards to what you are saying, I don't like that idea either, because there shouldnt be freebies at all. Once the DC penalty is back it should work as it does. Even if you didnt leave intentionally, youve still ruined the game for other people.
Gotcha.
You shouldn't be penalized for getting dropped from the server. It's not your fault the game crashed on you there for you should get at least 2 saves. You didn't ruin the game for the other players, the game ruined it for them.

@LinkOfSerevillon said:

You can force a game crash.
And you would still get penalized because you left the gameπ€· not sure how y'all are having a hard time understanding this. If you LEAVE the server for ANY reason you get ban time with 3 or 2 free ones

Yeah the removed DC bans because a streamer got hacked and was given a 72 hour ban smhh

I did read it, you're just not telling us how it's prevented, you only say it's prevented.
If you leave the game you get a penalty with 2 or 3 free ones. That means leaving the game for any reason. Once it detects you leave the games server you get the pentalty.
-
@Boss said:

you shouldnt get any "mercy" DCs.
instead they should update it so it can actually detect when a game crashed and not penalize you for it, aswell as fixing potential bugs where players got a timeout longer than what they should have gotten.
That's actually a lot easier said than done unfortunately.

How does this prevent dashboard/homescreening and closing the game to avoid DCs penalties? You literally said you should only get a penalty (with 3/2 freebies a day. Why?) If you hit the "leave game" button. Force closing the game is a completely different action.
If you leave the game by getting kicked or dashboarding you still disconnect from the server which then kicks in the freebe or if you've used them up then you get a penalty. You're still leaving the match my guy. But hitting the leave match button should be an automatic penalty.

No, it doesn't. It just gives the cryhards 3 freebies per day.
Then make it 2. Doesn't really matter as long as you allow room for server errors so people who get boned by a server disconnect are stuck with a waiting time

Sorry, but a whole new coding set, a new script has to be made because hackers hacked the current one.
Don't know how long that would take though.
That's why I said do it right. Make a new a new code system that allows up to 3 errors for server disconnect. Or even 2. It's like some people can't read or something.

You have no idea how many times I've slugged someone with killer and thought to myself "how the f#&k did that hit?" π This is going to be a good thing. It'll hopefully make the game feel less buggy. I got downed by a Trapper, while playing survivor today, from (I kid you not, this is literal) 20+ feet away. He didn't teleport to me, I didn't teleport back to him, he swung, at a window, I went down near a hill across from it. Video to prove it.

I'd be completely ok with that, not because of anything to do with Franks mixtape but because I already have fun with Legion as he is now.
Legion is strong and great with gen pressure. He has a ton of good builds that compliment of fast he is.

Anyone who complains about flashlights now don't understand just how strong they were before. You could get infinite saves with a team of flashlights. Now you actually have to have some skill to pull it off. No more mindless clicky clicky you've gotta be smart. Mind you I'm a survivor main and even I think they were stupid before lol
-
@Freesham said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/168598/exit-gate-doors-spawn-too-close-together
I don't see the problem. Your team failed to complete the objective, and you failed to find the hatch before the killer. Yet you're given yet another chance to escape, doesn't mean it should be guaranteed. Plenty of times the gates are opposite sides of the map and the killer has to guess which one the survivor at or they escape with time to spare.
A majority of games I get paired with potatoes even in red ranks. One random not doing anything costs the game even if you do a good amount. I'm not asking for much just more balance on killer side and survivor side. The gates should have a minimum and maximum spawn distance from each other. I played about 20 matches last night and about 18/20 of them were killer favoring exit gates.

Sorry dude I didn't read that. My bad
Tiss all good my G! Obviously the balance this game perfectly is near impossible, but little things can help make it feel more fair for both sides. The game is about skill and should be always. I hate keys and moris, they take any skill out of winning but I doubt that will ever get changed.

It can be a pain sometimes but other times they sawn at complete opposite ends of the map. If your addressing one address the other
I did. I said I don't think it should be opposite the map every time. Just more balanced on distance.

Were you using a medkit, self-care?
I've used plenty of medkits after the new chapter came out, haven't ran ino it, yet
Healed a lot of players as well, no sign of it
Was using a medkit with self-care on a other survivor. Ran up halfway through her being healed by someone else, got her to 99 and it went back to empty and wouldn't let us heal her. She took one hit and went down. Second time it's happened to me. Super rare though.
-
Have video proof of me looping a wraith the whole game on 2nd floor without using pallet loops. It's pretty ugly. My biggest problem is the killers terror radius is always present on the map with it being so confined. My ears bleed by the end lol.
-
Lol so If I get RBT'ed by pig all i have to do is use my key to unlock the hatch and escape before a gen is done? LOL what a Joke. I thought pig was already joke. This is just sad. Sorry to Pig mains out there. Guess you should pick up Meyers now.
-
How does endgame work if a survivor uses key on hatch with 2 gens left, leaves the other guy on the map and killer closes the hatch. The gens will be blocked and hatch is already closed so what happens?
-
Alert and Empathy are super underrated for tracking the killer. Neither have cool downs, you can watch the pattern of someone being chased and see their exact location. Makes for good flashlight saves and taking a hit for a team mate.
-
Just give Billy a max travel distance with his sprint before he needs a cool down and recharge, then give add ons to increase the distance and lessen the cool down. Boom problem solved.
-
@BACKSTABBERI play on console so it's even worse than a slow PC LMAO
-
Pallets are hit and miss with me. Some times I should have definitely taken a hit yet I some how got the stun, other times I spam the drop but nothing happens, the killer walks through and THEN the pallet drops and we are both on the same side. Very inconsistent. Other times I try to stop the pallet but instead I start mending with self-care. VERY frustrating.
