  • No. The Q&A isn't about nerfing camping. It's about giving survivors subtle tools that will very likely not be used except by people that are already bullies, to save their bully friends, since most regular players won't use them.

  • I suppose it's because the summer BBQ event will already give 5k BP per hook/Gen complete with the special offering. So that is possibly sufficient of a BP buff, since it would make the event a "triple BP one" basically. And devs don't want another triple BP event as it "broke their game" back then when they tried it.

  • Devs already have trouble making Trees, Totems and PALLETS to spawn.
Not sure if adding more things to spawn would be a good move.

Also, I kinda doubt the survivor's community wants more aura reveal features for killers.

  • @Panduh
About pallets : I think you kinda misunderstood what I meant. The slight "delay" due to the spin is mostly about people standing at pallets and not moving. Right ? So these people are usually trying to mindgame or bait for stun, trying to pull out by reflexes/prediction. Prediction is just fine, as it's a mindgame. However, being able to just react by reflexes and still not get wounded out of the process is just unfair, since the killer has to mindgame about it, while the survivor doesn't. That's just all I say. If you have time to stand at the pallet, you should be able to predict and not be able to fully react only, as mindgames should be part of the game, rather than being a pure survivor sided feature.
Most of weird hits, in these occasions, are due to latency. It's not due to mecanics. The fact is, it may fix some of the issues due to latency, but it will also make the game harder for people with proper ping for underserved reasons, especially when Dedicated servers could be a thing.

About the invulnerability : Not sure where you noticed a "complaint", I just stated I'm not sure that buff is necessary. It's not like you should unhook in a killer's face anyway. That's exactly why they're saying they want to punish unsafe unhooks. So it's just a basic contradiction.

And yes, everyone asked for more LOS breaker and less loops for ages, including the supposed "circle jerks of killers". We just ask for more stealth and mindgames when it comes to juking and pallets, so juking isn't just SB to the nearby strong vaulting spot and drop a pallet once in a while to reset BL.
As stated several times, killers ASKED FOR THE MAPS TO GET REWORKED FOR AGES NOW. Especially to have more vision blockers so people could hide/would have to GUESS rather than just being able to see where the killer is at.

Additionally, don't act like bugs are getting fixed for us. They just do the bare minimum.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjCOpo2Tqhs
We could talk about this one if you want, that is, imo, way more grevious than a few millisecond delay on a stun.

And about your pallet stuns, I'll just drop this here, in case you wouldn't think pallets were already strong in the current state :

I guess what I'm trying to point out is always insulting the other side without acknowledging your own sides faults is a problem. It also does nothing to help bridge the divide or lead to constructive dialogue. oth sides have their extremists and constantly bashing one side isn't helpful.

For the second part your welcome since I've had time where I've asked @Master and @Tsulan as well as others for clarification. She wasn't lag switching tho, she only had a lag spike.

  • Meh, would be boring. I'd rather to be able to get the build I want and that fit my playstyle, and get all the perks in a proper state of balancing. Right now it's just "I'll pick this because it's the strongest perks available", instead of "I pick this because it fits my playstyle", which is definitely wrong.

This game has always said that game play is up to the player. Do you work with the team and work at escaping. Or do you play more solo, hiding and allowing the others to do the work.

I do not have to out run the Killer, I just have to out run you applies. Sandbagging is a thing and if that's how you want to play that's your right.

Now after watching the latest Q&A, they say they are looking at punishing unsafe unhooks. This goes against the freedom of playing scummy. If its down to me and you and I want to unhook you so that hopefully you go down again quicker, and let the hatch spawn so I can get out that should be a option.

How many people have just waited while the second last guy struggles and dies so you can grab the hatch. Loads of us have.

Like real life the game is filled with lots of personality types, the work together types and the let the world burn just so long as I escape types. I do not think that survivors that are in it for themselves should be punished point wise for being "that guy".

When it comes down to it, if the game only let one person leave a match, we would all be cut-throat. Why do we need to punish people who don't wish to play "for the team"?

As a matter of fact, this is not the case anymore.
This game used to be 1v1v1v1 vs 1 killer. That's true, and that also explained why killers weren't THAT strong back then.
Now, with all the altruistic perks allowing more boldness, and the introduction of SWF, the game is turning into an 1v4 game, aka a TEAM game.

That's why killers need to be buffed furthermore to be able to match a team's strength, and that's why the "solo play" is bound to slowly disapear. (which is sad, honestly, because this was one of the best part of the game, but that's what you get for making the game to be a team game.)

One that tries to be objective and another that reflects the majority of this forum just for fun?

I agree with OP, but I still think the devs need to adjust some other things first before their planned changes come to the live build.

    PTBs not out.

The whole point of the PTB is to test, adjust, and make a conclusion of what to release to live and what not.

As a matter of fact tho :
People do not truly test on the PTB.
The PTB mostly goes down under a few days because it has no incencitive.
People just exploit the fact they don't lose items and add-ons to play full try hard on the PTB. (Example, full BNP in the clown PTB, or Nurse with Ebony Mori and full add-ons even tho none of these have been changed in the patch.)
Aaaaand finally, and not the least, most changes just go live as THEY wanted them, not as PEOPLE wanted them.

So I got matched as killer to the quintessential cancer stack. All 4 of them had a flashlight. I only got one kill. It was annoying, they knew every pallet, they loved the shack. All of that is fine in my eyes, since I can react, and those were simply outplays. What annoys me was the fact that whenever I picked them up, I would get blinded. How it makes sense that you can be blinded in an uncancelable animation where you look down hurts my brain. I think that you shouldn't be able to be blinded as killer until you have them on your shoulder, and ergo have any amount of autonomy. Otherwise survivors bodyblocking hooks is just way more effective than it should be. Usually one hit scares off the blocker, but if survivor can unhook from any direction, can killer hook from any direction? These are more QoL than anything else, but what do you think?

Here's the easy solution when playing against a 4man SWF with flashlights.
    First, get LIGHTBORN and NOED
Second, get one guy down and hook him.
Third, hardcamp and just hit/slug people around.
Fourth, kill the remaining people (if there is) with NOED once it activates after they failed to save.
Fifth, throw a "gg wp" and leave the lobby instantly so they cannot spill their salt all over the chat and are forced to swallow it back and consider what they did to deserve such a poor match.

    Enjoy yourself.

P.S.: If you don't have Lightborn, just dodge. There's plenty of cattle to slaughter other than bully squads.

  • There's a rather easy concept to understand with BHVR :
    IF the question contains WHEN,
THEN the answer is always SOONTM.

    Best regards.

  • Yeah, let's give all perks to all survivors and killers to bandaid the base mecanic issues. That would do wonders.

  • Secondary objectives are a necessity for the sake of diversity of this game.
They just need to be rather simple and straightforward to understand.

  • If the main issues about the games weren't stuff to fix, that could be the case.
    Sadly, it's not.

  • Let's also talk about a simple scenario. You have dying Light, and you catch your obsession early game. What do you do ? Stay by the hook to exploit the debuff as much as possible, or allow the survivors to unhook and get rid of the debuff ?
How I would use it would be pretty simple : camp the obsession till the end, so people have hard times to repair with the debuff, and take minor advantages, and then, get NOED to clear up the remainings.

    Dying Light :
Yet another "Hey, you're obsession, so you got to live", no thanks.

I consider obsession perks to be a unique form of perk like hexes, if you use a hex perk, then there is the risk of it being destroyed but if it stays active it is a very powerful perk.

Obsession perks are a case of a unique survivor that if you meet certain parameters then you become much more powerful, but if something happens to the obsession then you lose that power. Save the best for last is a great example of this

What's the risk for DS ?
STBFL is actually different, because it FORCES the obsession to bodyblock and such to make the killer to lose stacks, which can eventually put the obsession at a risk.

YOur version of the perks is just like "Hey, you already got DS which is a second chance perk, take more chances as I have to let you get unhooked because reasons"
Not to mention it also empathize hook rushing for your Dying light stuff, which will nullify its effect for the most part.

And your right. I know i fear some of the upcoming changes myself.(even though i probably won't get a chance to test these changes since i'm going away on a trip soon) But at least they try to fix their game.

They also tried to fix their game when they introduced looping with the insta-pallet stun + vacuum + bigger hitboxes for killers. (Not to mention the FOV nerf for killers due to the clipping masks and stuff)

The "Fix" for this game are usually terrible, and mostly band-aids to the actual issues.
For example, the "hit through pallets" issue is mostly due to LATENCY. And instead of investing into dedicated servers, they just bandaid by reducing the delay before the stun, which is just a buff and will hinder killers that have proper pings.

Mclean mentioned on Twitter that many loops will like Fractured Cowshed will be removed/nerfed.

If that is the case i will accept the BL nerf.

Yes, if they actually remove some windows "hard" loops (the ones you cannot counter because survivors consistently have vision on you, while the vault spot remains super strong), then BL can easily go away for sure, as it's not a very healthy mecanic when it comes to pallets, especially with Bloodlust 3.
Bloodlust 3 speed just need to go at some point as it's just a cheese and a rather toxic way to lock a survivor on a juking spot with 0 ways for him to get off of it.

    My prediction:

    • more nurse player
    • gens get done as fast in solo as they do in swf
    • killers will struggle to rank up because of how short the games are
    • long survivor ques for october (seems to be a tradition)

Possibly. Might be the case if all the changes they put on the PTB go live even if people on the forums do not agree with it, similarly to the exhaustion change. I doubt the majority was for that change, and wanted more of a sprint burst change instead.

I doubt it will be that hard to rank up, but as usual, it won't be due to the killer's skill, but rather to the survivor's stupidity and ability to make a shitload of mistakes.

Most of these changes feel like emergency killer nerfing to help calm down the survivor masses who's bombarding the game with negative reviews after their minuscule exhaustion "nerf".

It basically is. It’s another knee jerk reaction by the developers.

The problem is that the developers are trying to balance by taking one step forward with Killers, then one step forward with Survivors. Problem is that Survivors are ALREADY 2-3 steps ahead of Killers. The developers need to leave the Survivors alone and focus on the Killers.

Map Balance for Killers first, then Bloodlust. Ect.

But survivors don´t believe that. They think killers are OP (especially Freddy) and that even the slightest nerf is unjustified. Then they review bomb and make fun of killers that complain about serious issues.

Survivor mains and fake Survivor mains (you know, "those" guys who claim they play Survivor/Killer equally but always say "Well, I think Freddy was OP and needed the nerfs." Or "Blood Lodge doesn't have that many pallets. Killers need to git gud." One of those guys) are some stupidest people I have ever come across in any community. The mental gymnastics these guys go through to somehow convince themselves that running around a piece of level geometry is difficult is astonishing.

Running in circles clearly requires a lot of skill. I wonder what would happen if survivors and killers had suddenly the same hitbox. Probably review armageddon.

I'd love to see this, honestly. Would be so much smoother to run loops.

I would disagree about the kindred being better than voice comms thing. Kindred has a very limited range. I can tell my buddies, "He's camping" when the killer is just outside the radius with insidious, meanwhile kindred would not show that. Figuring out who's closer has never been an issue. I can very easily say, "I'm half way across the map, is anyone close to them?" and figure it out in a second. You'd still have to spend the same time looking around to figure out who's closer anyway, and you'll then have to figure out who's who so you can coordinate it (where applicable).

It still make coordination a whole lot easier, especially for things such as bodyblocking, instantly know who has to save, where to come from and such. A whole lot of info that voice com doesn't give.

The game is taking the right direction, which is making the killers to be decently able to kill survivors and harder to bully.

  • @ShrimpTwiggs
I agree with the fact SWF & Solo gap should be lowered since it's the only (sad) solution. But I doubt it's the right way either.
For the disarm, I guess it could be decent for the vaulting indeed. Not sure how often you would encounter that scenario tho.
I agree with the fact it should only affect Exhaustion, tho I still think that, in that case, Sprint Burst should be adressed and its impact lowered, as it would nearly become a MUST-HAVE compared to other perks in term of strength and effectiveness (even tho Dead Hard could do some nice tricks). The conditions for the other exhaustion perks just cannot compare to the "no condition" for SB.

So far I mostly like the WGLF change for less toxicity/farming/sandbagging. I still suspect that sandbaggers and farmers will just bring out BT and play the same tho. But at least.. it's something ?

i am rank 87 as Hunter in the whole global version and top 100

Only 2 infinites, wow! They just need to rework 2 of them per map then. Better than the 5-7 than dbd had at release then I suppose.

I don't play the game nearly enough anyway, what I know is, people were able to have a high win rates back then on dbd with 5 infinites per map, it doesn't say much except that people are just possibly even dumber on this game than they were on dbd, especially since it's a mobile game.

Only few spots are similar to semi-infinite, just like DBD, there is Bamboozle in the game which blocked the window for 20 seconds, impossible and way enough time to stop them from looping

i had close to 98% win rate as Killer main, on the highest rank on the server and top 100 on ranking

Trying to make strategy to be involved in most survivor's process won't work, and will very likely provoke a tantrum.

The latest stats in the dev stream just show Piggy has the highest killrates at rank 1.

That being said, these killrates don't mean ######### anyway. Pig is rather average and could use a buff.
I got a pretty easy method to know if a killer requires a buff :
If you can give his/her ability 3 substantial buff, and still say "Well, it still looks ok", then the killer is definitely weak.

It's actually really hard to give 3 buffs to Hillbilly's. Tho it's really easy to give 3 buffs to Pig without making her broken, example :

    • A better FOV while crouching
    • A delayed roar
    • A longer dash overall/a slightly faster dash to help to outrun SB and such.
  • Not a bad idea once again. Not sure it is what the game needs right now, but still pretty decent. Could add another random factor in the game for more diversity.

Could prove very strong in a 3 gens scenario tho.

I don't understand it. Nothing was done with looping in this patch, nor gentime. Just the FL saves are harder and the exhaustion is not recovering while running. Like TF?
You can still loop them for a long time. So stop being so childish and try to accept these changes!

Survivors are mad because they're used to being favored by the devs. This is, however, changing a bit now and they replied with 440+ bad reviews on the game.

Not to mention that throwing a tantrum, especially when it came to reviews, always served them well.
Look at where Freddy is at, right now, in any doubt, even tho he has been called "SUPER BROKEN OMG SO OP, P2W" at his release.

They know this tho and are gonna give him a complete rework after the Wraith rework/buff

Very likely. Tho, they still did a huge mistake back then and they are aware of it themselves. So there's no reasons for survivors not to try the same thing again.

People actually confessed to intentional facecamping of certain users across games? Folks that is bannable, stop it.

You cannot prevent people to have griefs against each others, even if you want it to be "bannable".

People will hate each others whatever the rules you try to put in. Especially when Toxicity is on the menu.

I personally exclusively mori people that I know are grieffers. Aka consistent ragequitters, cabling out conssitently to save items, abusive behaviors such as teabagging the whole round along with DS + Flashlight abuse, or people that just tells me to kill myself in the lategame chat, because even tho it's supposed to be "also bannable with perma", all the players I reported for telling me to "kill myself" (even repeatedly reported) are still playing with no problems right now.

So either I just let them on the go, or just ruin their day as they just try to ruin other people's day.

It's just fairness, at least in my eyes. Maybe it's not, in reality, but I don't care much, it's just a game anyway.

Eh, I just figured I'd just remind folks of the official rules as this sort of thing sounds like it falls under (repeated harassment) which is bannable. I can't stand toxic dirtbags either . . . I just don't want any more non-toxic players to leave whether it's their free will or the bad side of a ban hammer. The game needs more players.

As a matter of fact, non-toxic players are a rarity on this game at this point, since memes and toxicity is basically the norm now, around here. Either you embrace it, or you're better up to play another game/get ready for a huge disappointment, because even if you play fair, people will be overly toxic toward you and you'll feel betrayed.

This game is revolving about being abusive to one another. That's actually part of the marketing aspect in my opinion. Just look at Identity V if you got any doubts. It has the same exact flaws than Dbd day 1, aka abuse and infinites. I talk to dbd devs on a regular basis, and I can tell you one thing : they're not idiots. Which only leaves one way to go : it is just intentional, and basically a way to rack in players (and a majority of them, aka survivors) to keep playing the game. Once they're hooked, they just keep playing due to the added addictive factors in the game, along with the possibility of being abusive.

In doubt, just look at the eyes of any survivor streamer juking a killer, especially a baby killer. It should erase all your doubts about toxicity in this game.

  • Because people can't and don't truly want to get along in the first place, and any reason to fight seems like a justified one, when you seek a fight. And dbd gives a LOT of them.

I've had SEVERAL killers tell me that they are part of a hit list and face camp certain people if they are in the lobby... Come on now...

OH MY G. a hit list???? What a wonderful idea! im going to implement that in my games,i thought i wasnt going to get anything good from this post but.. wow!

I can confirm that quite a few hit lists do exist.
If some people ever wonder why they're getting consistently camped/mori'ed, it's very likely due to it. That's just what some people get for being overly toxic over the past years I guess.
