Probably but tbh I pray they dont add stuff that was in black banquete into that for any side.

I think an on hook effect that lets you go to the furthest side of the map you're looking at wouldn't be too bad, kind of like shadow.

Just look at the wall you want to come out from and press the ability button.

it still happens, but It's part of the games charm as it was with Outbreaks, I think having some form of interaction between players to express themselves is always nice. Not to mention it'd give voice actors more chance to shine as the characters they are playing, making them feel more unique, DBD really needs that IMO.

Emotes etc add so much depth for the players who are playing more casually, it's why they sell so well in other games.

Also sorry to harp on about this, but I hope you can at least some kind of audio tell between the different pings because the text size looks a little small on the hud, it's going to be easy to miss in the thick of the action too, Especially for more casual players/those who are sight impaired.

I would but thats rework stuff not 2v8 buff where things like another dash or iri addon or powers distance (onis blood pull or draculas tp in bat form or chuckys dash). He just has huge potencial almost nurse like (if he can hit it through walls) but that potencial from paper/idea gets hard crash on reality and thats why his only good side is chase … kinda.

Nemi has worse chase and his buffs to his main power (tenticle) didnt do much but his buffs to zombies are what makes him useable. Map preasure is key thing on big map where you have 8 survivors that run around and do gens with comeback mechanic.

could make it a class in 2v8 that spawns portals to get to the other side of the map or something

On the surface this sounds really cool but it could get really annoying with spam, or could be used as a tool for bming. Be it to the killer or other survivors. Even with the mute option it seems like it'd be tiresome.

Anyone who played og Overwatch should remember the old meme of Genjis spamming that they need healing constantly.

it still happens, but It's part of the games charm as it was with Outbreaks, I think having some form of interaction between players to express themselves is always nice. • I can't wait for this.

I wonder with you having mutes if you'd add character voices to it on a proximity possibly, I've always loved characters interacting with each other in games like this <3

Stuff like OW hearing voicelines interupted coz they got hit was always so funny. It also can be more immersive like Resident Evil Outbreak's ad-libs <3 just an idea.

  • His ability to remove endurance/return to the hook easily paired with anti loop builds. His grab basically stunning both him and you while he licks his hand and screeches. He isn't casual friendly at all to play against, yet he is really easy to get value from, which is a terrible mix for 2v8.

  • Yeah Slugging can be a vibe killer honestly, I get it, especially on the strongest killers.

  • Yeah I'm with MechWarrior, it's what makes her unique, you take that away and she's just another killer.

What change I do want tho is her tapes to not stop you from using fun event items or the like, that's the most infuriating part about her.

Its because of this back and forth that queues are a terrible indicator to balance. The game did NOT have a huge balance change in the past 2 weeks to explain the current queue difference. It has an ongoing event that is causing more people to play, not some kind of survivor player exodus. You can expect normal queue times again in roughly 4 days.

Beyond that, a 4 minute queue is not a bad state by a long shot. Thats pretty healthy numbers. Jumping on the forums going "my side has the BP bonus right now so surely the other side needs nerfs" isn't the way to make an argument.

I just think people are sick of long killer queue times (myself included) because I want to play killer more, but I don't spend that much time on the game recently outside of events, which is usually when killer queue times are the longest, the banquet being the exception.

It's summer holidays where I'm at rn, kids/adults are off school/college so lots of people queueing up for killer whilst these summer events have been on. I do play while you wait, but sometimes I have such bad survivor games suddenly I don't feel up to playing killer or DBD in general. So overall I don't get to play killer as often.

That's my personal experience rn, nothing to do with others voting or w/e

  • Her reload speed in 2v8 feels really good, that and her 115 when she runs out of hatchets.

I really enjoy her in 2v8 just not 1v4.

The topic was bringing up queue times, so yes... an explanation about queue times its right on topic.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/H4GVNNTUXE22/1000002508.jpg

You have a daily pattern of ups and downs at the same times going from a low of 40k to a high of 90k. Of course its going to affect queues. How is pointing that out to the person conflating queue times to balance not adding anything of value? No, we dont have changes to the quality of the game by the hour. The time that you play will drastically affect the queue times.

But they are longer more often than they aren't for killer, it doesn't matter this pattern. As I Said I know it happens but I'm trying to give YOU context as to why you are probably being downvoted.

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I think people know there is spots where killer has quick queues, just overall they don't.

Because it added nothing other than "sometimes its short" but overall killer queue times are long lol

believe it or not, but killer selection impacts the survivor experience too, and the current roster is buns.

I'm bored of every 2v8 killer. Id rather play 1v4 and face ghoul or springtrap

That's what they are saying, Kaneki would make people play less LMAO myself included, boring screeching anime man

Sure but same can oni, wesker, dracula and they on top have better map mobility and powers plus are easier to play then m2 of the pyramidhead (slow hitbox easy to doge, requires huge prediction and precission unless survvior is locked in animation).

There not many reasons why to pick phead in 2v8 only if you are his main or want to try him because you dont have him in 1v4.

Every time I see him and other killer isnt someone super strong like oni, wesker, billy, dracula, blight, spirit, wraith Im glad becuase its in majority of my games a win against him. If the phead player doesnt land many hits with m2 then he is incompetent and other killer must carry which even killer like oni who needs hits and many injured survivors to get his power can easily be held down and rushed with gens.

He just isnt worth the hustle, not to mention on larrys I think some rooms are still slightly above the ground level of the other part of the ground level of the map so his m2 doesnt work there, unless it has been fixed but me still not seeing killers boxes with sprays when Im infected as survvior against combo of wesker+nemi just makes me believe it hasnt been fixed.

I think him having a way to traverse the map would help him so much honestly.

Except my "argument" was just that queue times differ based off time and place. Thats not any kind of opinion... your own post even shows further proof that its correct.

No I'm not correcting you, I'm talking about how y'all are complaining about downvoters lol

  • Winning is what the big content creators tell you it is /s

Honestly though it's probably the adept achievements which influence the current win conditions lol

I really like the idea of him in 2v8 because of the aura reading and shadow is pretty fun.

But he’s pretty much a throw pick unfortunately. Hes not much stronger than his base 1v4, and the way 2v8 works already neuters one of his biggest strength being the cages.

I haven’t played him since they fixed it, but a major reason for not playing him for me was the fact he couldn’t shoot through walls on lerys, which was a very common map in 2v8. Might be time to give him another go, but I’ll probably play with a duo, I don’t wanna subject randoms to having a pyramid head without consent.

I'd like to agree re the cages but you can't be flashlight saved, which is a huge bonus in 2v8 with torchbearer, not to mention correct me if I'm wrong I don't think you get endurance from cages?

    So you still have bonuses.

He also gives information to his partner if they stand in the trails

  • Survivors likeness in general with the few exceptions are awful, Ricks arms are also super short like a t-rex too

  • I've seen people do great as him, especially coz he can hit multiple survivors at once.

  • It's probably because schools are off for summer so it's like the weekend constantly, REALLY casual players about atm

    • I play a lot less atm because QoL reasons:
-Survivor side looks incredibly ugly, breaking faces, shoulders hands, long torsos on males who also have short arms. (the new announcements put me into maintenence mode while I wait and Claire my main is still broken for over several months her finger claws when pointing) Male survivors fingers cross while healing too, its not comfortable to look at.
-Laggy VPNing killers can completley ruin the mood with how terrible latency is handled above 100ms
-Slugging on high mobility killers is also a buzz kill.
-New perks are never META defining, or items, always made useless, this isn't just a survivor problem tho.
      -Matchmaking is ass
-2v8 I'm not playing as often as I'd like because of how boring Oni is to face and as soon as it hits peak hour its Oni o' clock

  • @Skitten56 said:

Completely agree. Oni being constantly in power is only an issue because of how hard it is for survivors to counter him in power. He just turns too well in 2v8.

I believe Oni players would also be happier being in power more often with less turning ability, than keeping their turning ability but having significantly less access to their power, which would be the only other way to balance him in 2v8. Simply put, killers want to use their power as being in power is fun, so BHVR should nerf the turn radius as a priority.

If BHVR nerfs Oni's turn radius, most of the issues with Oni in 2v8 will go away.

Yeah this is pretty much what I want to see next if anything

I totally agree. For me Lights Out was really fun as a Killer and helped me a lot with my achievements

My friends and I have had a similliar experience, I honestly think the people who don't enjoy the mode are those who it's not aimed towards, and I think that's fine.

  • Sadako wouldn't really work coz I feel there wouldnt be enough TV's for survivors to get tapes etc

As for Krasue she probably could keep just focusing on spitting to infect but not placing down mushrooms so the other killer could get easy downs (but please correct me if I'm wrong that it's only from switching to head they spawn).

  • For me it's the same issue I have with him in 1v4, his power control is way too good now, the same reason I dislike new Myers also.

I used to have so much respect for Oni players like I do for Billy, but now the flick just reads so ass on the survivor screen, it really needs reverted.

  • I'm hoping the ad-lib chat wheel system makes them speak too, I'd love to hear their personality come through with how they interact just like other games.

With a few other exceptions: ditto. This forum will disagree and show that via downvotes but every lobby without fail has 3+ Sprint Burst classes as well as 4-5 other classes but my point is that on command AoE Sprint Burst on a microscopic timer is genuinely one of the most aggravating pain points for 2v8 for most Killer players. Hence why Oni, even after the nerfs, is a popular pick. He sees your on command Sprint Burst and goes "lol, lmao"

I'd be 100% okay with further nerfing Kazan IF, and only IF, the Sprint Burst class gets retuned/nerfed.

I wonder if the SB nerf will affect the 2v8 one

Only change I want on Oni is his controls in his power reverted I'd be okay with him getting it all the time if he wasn't so easy to land hits with in 2v8 in power. They just read awful in 2v8.

  • hex totems would be cleansed instantly I fear, it would be a pointless class unless they let you keep re lighting them manually like boons on a 60s CD like the rest of the classes.

  • We get entirely new killers added every now and then which is more that can be said for survivors, they don't get whole new powers.

I'd rather get new killers than new classes, so I can see why the priority isn't there.

It's actually atrocious to play as killer in this mode for lots of reason. Unless survivors do goofy stuff. majority of games will end with 2 or 3 hooks tops. Lack of gen defense or info perks for killer hurts a lot.

that's dramatic, I've seen games where it's been the other way too. I just think a lot of people aren't as good at killer as they think they are. lol

  • @YamamuraVideoRentals said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4107194#Comment_4107194

Nah, it's pretty bad unless you play some certain killers with powers that ignore the darkness or are OP granting instadowns. Then the game flips on its head and becomes unfair.

The main complaint I have as killer is the gen speeds. It's always the gen speeds. And there's just zero tracking, so 9/10 times, even if you JUST hit a survivor, they can run past the blackness of your limited vision, break line of sight, and then you've got nothing.

A lot of games I've had, both as survivor or killer, consisted mainly of "sneak up to survivor, get a free hit" followed by "lose track of survivor, go patrol another gen"

Thats because it's mainly a hit and run mode, the gens are a huge give away as are lanterns, if someone uses a lantern that's your tracking you can see it through walls coz of the SSR (screen space reflections).

the mode snowballs quick for killer and for survivor, I see it's only "Bad" for people trying to play normal DBD in the mode. Nobody is interested in the horror experience of the jumpscares while playing casually etc, coz they are numb to dbd as they play it WAYYYY too often, it's not catered to them, more people need to realise this.

People have been enjoying this iteration, I don't think every mode should be catered to the core DBD players who hate changes. My friends and I had a blast, and I really enjoyed playing killer too last week.

LOL I love how you get a bunch of downvotes simply for showing a picture that doesn’t align with some people’s preferred narrative. Would love to hear explanations for the downvotes but I’m expecting none will come

    image.png

I mean it's subjective isn't it, it's like if I used the 1v4 queue times during 2v8 as an arguement against you, the context matters.

Most of the day it's survivors who have a super short queue. I think the people downvoting do have their reasons lol

  • I like 2v8, the servers broke as soon as the mode went live so a lot of people who dont normally play came on JUST for 2v8.

I think people need to realise people want to play 2v8 over 1v4 while it's up, it's a nice change of pace.

  • I like Nemesis as a survivor, tho I'm also a scout main who has pallet building on demand.

We have answers on survivor side, he just has cool synergy with the other killer and his zombies.

Oni is way more problematic to the mode IMO

  • I'm gonna come in here and say if Vigil got changed why the heck can't lightborn? Negating an entire playstyle with one perk is dumb, and that's the logic people used for vigil so… why can't we paint this the same way?

Revert it to slowing blinds IMO.

  • Billy can't flick and get awful reading hits and then slugs.

For me it's just how easy he hits in power now, if they removed that control to how it used to be I don't think he'd be an issue.

  • Honestly I feel like the current iteration is the most balanced it could be, minus 40s endgame endurance

I think the lullaby etc being muted on killers who have it is a huuuge bonus, no other mode ever lets stuff like that happen. The anti camp is fine because if 2 or more survivors are near said hook they wont get anti camp also, I've only seen people who try to play the mode like normal 1v4 suffer where they camp and tunnel.

Lights out much more benefits a hit and run playstyle, the tracking you are asking for is the lanterns, makes survivors plain as day to see. Screen space reflection lets you see the survivor through walls too

tell me just one reason why he is 4,4 and I delete the post and my account bnvr forum

If I recall the devs say it's because of how small he is, plus the scamper/slice and dice mobility. I'm not telling you, you are wrong and they don't need help, I was just trying to help you out.

  • You might want to look up a streamer called theChuckyEnjoyer , they do really well as them and might have good tips that might help you improve.

  • I basically want Last stand to be made earnable more than once, and I'll be incredibly happy. It's such a fun perk but it's just not worth taking on its own.

Same for DS I feel it should work off both hook states even if it was made 3 seconds again.

Also for a new perk, let me throw my item at the killer, thanks even if it breaks or needs charges in it to do so LOL even if its for 1s stun or just makes them hindered but they make the stun sound

Mirrored illusion should stun too if its struck, not if its walked through.

Honestly I think it's because in NA those two perks are often replaced with really strong medkits so that players can run other perks instead, and I think that's due to NA being much more altruistic. Using a good medkit instead of Self-Care + Botany allows you to run a full suite of impactful perks such as Resurgence, Deli, DS, or Shoulder the burden. A perk like Shoulder might never see use with a more selfish play style, but with altruistic play styles it's seen a lot more.

I'm honestly under the impression that East servers have a higher escape rate because playing selfishly is often technically better in a solo queue environment, and it's an overall escape rating across all MMR. However, I feel like similarly to tournaments, escape rates in NA of 4 man SWFs are probably insanely high, whereas East may be less dominated by those teams.

It's wierd coz Self care + Botany is far from just a selfish build, you make yourself harder to kill with medkit speed heals while making heals for others faster too.

Self Care on its own is probably taken less coz its selfish if you use it wrong but if someone starts a heal while waiting for someone you can cut out a lot of time on the heal while waiting for the friend, or in a pinch when you're being tunneled can save yourself in a safe location.

I think western players assume the worst of the perk and that's the issue.

  • The killer experience isn't bad, you're just over reacting. Queue times contradict what you're saying lol

  • We've had secondary objectives like the Black Banquet and people didn't like it at all. So I don't think there is ever really going to be a survivor secondary objective which is worth their time that people won't get mad over.

Or Lanterns in Lights Out is another example and the Phials in 2v8

  • All the people crying it's needless changes where the queues for the mode are really healthy and lots of people I've seen having fun with it on both sides.

I just think the ones here who do nothing but play the game need to realise DBD event queue doesn't need to be for them. Survivor queues were still incredibly short this iteration despite "Survivor sided" changes. I wanna also point out lanterns flat out give away the survivors positions through walls coz of Screen Space Reflections, and are a double edged sword that make it easier for the killer in chase too.

Honestly it's all the usual content creators too, I wish they'd stop talking sometimes coz it's like crying everything isn't normal DBD at this point, when normal queue is right there. lmfao

Also I think Anti-Camp works just fine in this mode, I've only seen people get off the hook if the killer lurks too much or it's dead dawg which can also backfire as 2 survivors in the radius halts it. Just over reactions. The one I find bs if anything is the 40 seconds of endurance in endgame.

  • It just needs better designed counter play which doesn't stall the game, the power actively encourages casual players to do nothing and hide

  • Lights out queue times are fine and it's already developed, why should they bin a mode that people are having fun with??? not every mode needs to be for everything.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 75
