I can only hope (given that the closure of the Tome challenges in January is unfortunately a done deal) that there will be changes to the Bloodweb instead:
for example, more Bloody Party Streamers, Survivor Puddings, and Escape Cakes in the Bloodweb; they are far too rare.

I've come across killers with high ping and its pretty impossible to loop. loops require lots of reaction time when killers double back. when killers have high ping, they hit u from really far away. making it seem pretty unfair. add a system that matches ur ping with the killer. i always end up having 40 ping while killers 200-1000. Please fix this behavior
Were you the Steve Harrington survivor in the 2v8 match today at 8 PM against the two killers from Kazakhstan and Russia? I already mentioned this in the endgame chat, but regarding the Steve who complained about an alleged 1,000 ping and told the killers to "fix their ping" leave immediately before anyone could reply…
I’m going to say the same thing here: unfortunately, some players have high ping involuntarily because there are no servers in their region. Russia and neighboring countries have absolutely no DbD servers, and neither does the entire African continent. If they want to play DbD, they can only do so on the few EU servers available and have a high ping. It's not their fault. -

I've been playing both I can see both sides, but I still think killers are overpowered, also i play on US servers but like 9 out of 10 games I'm always getting slugged, camped or tunneled I also gotten messages from said killers being toxic ash even though they're always all running meta builds sadly
Hmm, okay, that's a shame… sounds like you've had a lot of bad luck, but switching servers can usually really help with that.

I don't get the point of this, sorry, but the forum was constantly active. People posted and discussed things here every day. You want to switch to Discord and Reddit? Places where there's either nothing but nonsense or where nothing has been posted for a year? You’re just making everything worse and more broken. You’re destroying yourselves from the inside.
It’s not the community or the game itself that’s to blame for fewer people playing DbD. It’s you and your stupid decisions; you aren't looking at the long term at all.
Just how shortsighted and self-destructive do you intend to get? Assuming it’s even possible to make things worse than they already are.
One disappointment after another… do you even think about the nonsense you’re spouting? Personally, I actually had tons of ideas and suggestions for new chapters or skins but i guess thats the end. You dont deserve my ideas and suggestions anymore.
I really stood by DbD, I loved the game. The forum was a great place for the many ideas players shared, yet you keep trampling all over everything with your clumsy feet. It’s time to leave DbD. It was a good time with you all, folks. -

I have played DBD for a very long time (about 5 years or more) after playing the game for the last month straight I can say the game is not fun at all as a survivor. What's the point of getting more survivors if there's a killer that can counter your perks but it's not vice versa. This whole game is pay to win now; I remember when it used to be about skill not money. Like what do you mean there's a killer that can teleport to you right off rip on a game, or a killer that can snipe you across the map and don't get me started on the window and pallet perks killers have. Literally all we have as survivors is pallets, windows and teammates. The survivor perks are completely useless like why would I want a perk that lets me run for 4 seconds then I'm really slow for 40 seconds?? I know this game has always leaned towards the killer side but when is it the survivors turn??? Because it's not fun when you're being tunneled, camped or slugged in every single match, it just doesn't make the game enjoyable. I know a lot of y'all will disagree with me, but I don't care, this game is crap. If you can say you enjoy this game as a survivor there might be something wrong with you.
It's better to play both sides; only then you understand why some players do what they do. Getting tunneled, slugged, and camped out sucks, I don't like it either, but not every killer does that (Admittedly, almost everyone on the Frankfurt/EU server does, but that server is known for being very sweaty). I recommend switching your region/server, to US, for example, to get a different experience.

For years, the tome challenge was the soul of Dead by Daylight for anyone who wanted more than just the mindless routine of repairing generators or chasing survivors. It added depth to the game, advanced the lore, and offered players goals beyond simply winning. Taking that away and replacing it with a soulless, passive system strips DbD of a huge part of its identity and charm.
-
Please don't remove the tome quests!!! I love them. I think it's great searching for fragments or glyphs, collecting banners and profile pictures, and getting extra Bloodpoints. Plus, most players haven't even finished half of the Tome challenges.

My Tome Idea: Retroactive Quest Chapters and Future Tomes Strategy for Veteran Players
As a player who has only been playing for a bit more than a year, I am lucky because I still have many of old Tomes and quests left to complete. Please don't delete them.
However, I feel really bad for the long-time veterans of this community when looking at the most recent Tomes.
Lately, the newest Tomes focus almost entirely on lore text and images, offering barely any new, active gameplay quests. While the lore is nice, veterans who have maxed out all previous Tomes are left with nothing to do. They are missing out on the fun of changing their playstyle for a challenge, and they have fewer ways to earn Bloodpoints.
To fix this and keep the game engaging, BHVR could easily implement a two-step solution:
Menu Integration and Future Guarantees
- Squeeze Chapters between Lore Sections: For the already existing new Tomes who only contain lore and images, bhvr could retroactively add a dedicated quest chapter right after a specific lore story is finished. They can literally squeeze the new challenge chapters right between the existing lore sections in the menu interface.
- A Guarantee for Future Tomes: For all upcoming Tomes, it would be great, when we return to the classic model of providing full, regular Chapters 1 to 4 packed with gameplay quests or Lore with Quest in mix. Pure text/image Tomes should never completely replace active gameplay. A mix would be better.
- Instead of deleting the outdated tome quests: adjusting/ change these (There are only a few of them; most are still doable)
- Keep Veterans Engaged: This gives experienced players a reason to revisit old content, log in every day, and try out different build combinations, keeping the matchmaking healthy.
For the future this would easily restore the grinding joy for everyone!
-
My eyes are also very sensitive to light (due to a workplace accident), and I sometimes suffer from migraines. Whenever I get blinded, I have to close my eyes or look away from the game. I would also really appreciate a "dark mode" for those moments when I'm blinded.
-
I don't notice any difference with the new MMR either when I play Killer. I constantly get matched against SWF groups that have a few thousand more hours of playtime than I have. And I'm lucky if I manage to get 7 hooks in a match

How to completely remove Denuvo driver debris:
Step 1: Official Uninstallation via Game Folder
- Navigate to your Steam directory and open the Dead by Daylight folder.
- Open the subfolder named Denuvo.
- Right-click on AntiCheatInstaller.exe and select "Run as administrator".
- Click on "Uninstall" inside the window until it says "Uninstallation completed successfully".
Step 2: Wipe the remaining Denuvo Folder
- Go one step back in Windows Explorer so you can see the Denuvo folder inside the main DBD directory.
- Highlight the Denuvo folder and permanently delete it using Shift + Delete. Crucial: Do not delete the main DBD folder, only the Denuvo subfolder!
Step 3: Burn hidden Kernel remnants via CMD
- Press the Windows key, type cmd, right-click on Command Prompt and select "Run as administrator".
- Copy and paste the following 4 commands one by one, pressing Enter after each:
sc stop dacsvc
sc delete dacsvc
del /f /q %WinDir%\System32\drivers\dac.sys
del /f /q %WinDir%\System32\drivers\denuvo-anti-cheat.sys(Note: If Windows displays "Error 1060" or "File not found", that is great news! It means Step 1 already automatically removed the service and the driver files.)
Step 4: Clear the GPU DirectX Shader Cache
- Press Windows Key + R, type cleanmgr and press Enter.
- Select drive C: and click OK.
- Check only the "DirectX Shader Cache" box (uncheck everything else) and click OK to wipe the corrupted render cache.
- Perform a clean PC restart. Your operating system is now 100% clean!
Note on Hardware & Linux: This guide works universally for all Windows PCs (regardless of whether you use NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel). If you are on Linux or Steam Deck, your system handles kernel drivers differently, meaning a standard Steam uninstallation usually clears the debris automatically. If you are still experiencing system issues under Linux, simply copy-paste your error log into ChatGPT or Google Assistant – AI tools are incredibly efficient at finding the exact terminal commands for your specific distro, just like I did to build this guide
If your system has been damaged by Denuvo, you can do the following:How to create your MSinfo.nfo file:
If support asks for your system diagnostic file (MSInfo32), but your PC instantly freezes or crashes while trying to save it, the kernel anti-cheat is actively blocking Windows from reading its own hardware info.
How to generate the file correctly and get AI support:
- Press Windows Key + R, type msinfo32 and click OK.
- Click File in the top left corner ➔ Save, and name the file MSInfo32 on your Desktop.
- The AI Lifeline: Once the file is generated (or if your PC crashes and you only have screenshots of blue screen error messages), you do not have to do this alone!
- Simply drag and drop the .nfo file or your error screenshots directly into the AI prompt chat (like ChatGPT or Google Assistant). The AI will scan the complex logs for you within seconds, isolate the conflicting driver, and tell you exactly how to fix it!
SPECIAL STEP: What to do if your PC crashes while saving MSInfo?
Scan & Repair System Files (sfc /scannow)If the game blocks you with an error message like "Untrusted system file", your first step should be to check and repair your Windows system files.
How to run the scan:
- Press the Windows Key and type cmd.
- Right-click on Command Prompt and select "Run as administrator" (click Yes to confirm).
- Type the following command exactly into the window and press Enter:
text
sfc /scannow - Let it run without interference. It may take a while for Windows to finish checking and repairing any errors automatically.
CRUCIAL WARNING (The Update Trap):
If you have manually blocked your Windows Updates in the Registry (like many of us do), this scan will silently overwrite your blocks and reactivate the Windows Update servers in the background!
To protect your system right after the scan finishes, you MUST enter this command into the CMD and press Enter:
text
sc config wuauserv start= disabledAfterwards, check your Control Panel under Programs and Features to make sure no new Windows Update (like KB5001716) sneaked in. If it did: Uninstall it!

While I totally hear you on these things being frustrating, I did want to jump in to clarify that the stability concerns being attributed to Denuvo are not connected to the Anti-Cheat Trial. This release cycle included an engine update, which we now know has led to the increase in issues (like crashing) you're referring to.
While the bugfix patch this week helped alleviate some of these issues, there's still more to do, which the team is hard at work on. For the input delay specifically, this appears to be a case of a GPU driver reacting unexpectedly to the engine update. If you're running into this, updating to the newest GPU drivers can help.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/472182/when-is-this-going-to-end
To add to what MashedBroccoli mentioned above, the reason we are not currently sharing the end date of the test is to ensure the integrity of the trial.
Patch Note Failure:
There is absolutely no mention of an intended engine update in the official patch notes for version 10.1.1 or 10.1.2. Pushing an invasive Ring-0 kernel trial simultaneously with a major engine update without broadcasting it for awareness is the absolute definition of catastrophic version control. You have made it impossible for players to isolate and troubleshoot these critical technical defects.
The "GPU Driver" Myth:
Telling players with high-end rigs to simply "update their GPU drivers" to fix severe WASD input drift and 100-percent CPU spikes is a textbook excuse. This is a clear case of third-party software conflict at the Ring-0 level, heavily compromising system stability.
The Cheater Farce:
You claim you are hiding the end date to "ensure the integrity of the trial" against cheaters. Yet, YouTube is currently flooded with uncut footage of cheaters teleporting, flying, and locking generators in every single match despite Denuvo being active. The only integrity this trial has destroyed is the performance and paid Rift-Pass experiences of your legitimate Steam customer base.
The Final Blow:
Stop shifting the blame onto our hardware. If your team cannot safely manage your own software deployments, deactivate the trial server-side immediately before the economic fallout for this whole game gets even worse! -
I just watched some videos on YouTube showing how cheaters have absolutely no trouble despite Denuvo: The Youtuber was playing as Killer, and in every match there was one Cheater. Everytime they teleport away, run faster, fly, become invulnerable while working on generators, and can't be pulled out of lockers…. and one of them even wrote in the end-game chat, "Don't rely on the new anti-cheat."
Wow, just wow… I simply have no words left for this disaster

An Appeal to the Community and Management: Consumer Misdirection and Accountability
The ongoing silence regarding the Denuvo trial since September 2nd is unacceptable. A massive portion of the of the PC community (across Windows, Linux, and Steam Deck) is being actively excluded from the highly anticipated 2v8 event, timed rifts, and code redemptions due to severe system collapses (100% CPU loads, WASD input drift, and kernel crashes). Trust has been completely breached.
Instead of clear communication, we are met with a wall of silence. The platform population is shifting to other games, while new players continue to fall into this technical trap because Denuvo is still not disclosed on the official Steam store page. This crosses the line into consumer misdirection.
Furthermore, Denuvo’s own documentation reveals that once the trial ends, the driver is merely deactivated server-side, leaving obsolete kernel files as "corrupt debris" on our private operating systems. We are forced to manually clean up BHVR’s software experiments ourselves just to maintain our PC stability.
We demand:
An official, transparent end date for this trial.
A full compensation package for all locked-out players regarding missed rift progress and event rewards.
Universal server-side anti-cheat validation instead of invasive ring-0 software that jeopardizes end-user hardware.
Fellow players, know your rights. Do not let your system stability be exploited for corporate telemetry without transparency! -

Stats don't anyway support your statement. August average of Dead by Daylight steam players was about 71000 players and so far september average is about 58000 players. Where is the over half the playerbase drop?
Using a monthly average only from steam to downplay a critical issue that only went live a few days ago is just poor math. Look at the actual live drop-off since the Denuvo integration, especially today during a major 2v8 launch that should normally double the concurrent numbers, but instead, people are flooding the forums with GPU crash dumps.More importantly, you completely missed my point: Dead by Daylight is a cross-platform game. This disaster isn’t locked to Steam. Thousands of players on Epic Games and consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Switch) are dropping the game or actively boycotting it because the constant PC kernel crashes are breaking the global matchmaking queues, leaving console players slapping them with unearned 6-hour matchmaking bans. Players are leaving cross-platform entirely, and no selective Steam chart is going to hide that.

Dear BHVR,
The overhaul that is coming some time next year (hopefully) will be a huge deal for the community but also will probably attract a ton of new players to the game, along with old players that quit. I don't think anyone here would be surprised if DBD smashes it's concurrent player record on Steam.
However, breaking the concurrent player record means absolutely nothing if we don't retain any of those players. Just recently DBD destroyed that record by almost 50,000, peaking at 168,000 players on Steam. And yet, the player count almost immediately plummeted straight back down to where it was before. This is what is going to happen with the overhaul if serious changes are not made by then.
With the overhaul, I am assuming that a lot of bugs will be fixed (although there might be more bugs overall for a little while as the devs iron out the code), and I'm assuming that one of the things they are rewriting is the god awful netcode. I'm also assuming that with the coding and graphics overhaul together, that we will finally be getting proper settings for things like graphics. Therefore, I will leave these topics alone.
But overall, the game will be the same as the one we have today. Even though I'm sure this will fall on deaf ears, there are so many things that need to be changed before the overhaul to actually have a successful launch, and we're nowhere near achieving them:
We will be getting a big perk patch that is supposed to focus a lot on general perks, which is perfect for new players. We need more than just one patch of this. We don't need every single perk in the game to be strong, but we need the majority of them to at least be viable or interesting to use rather than what we have currently where 50% of perks are left collecting dust.
The killer guides they added in this last chapter are an amazing edition to the game for new players, but the tutorials desperately need updating still. There are so many things that are not explained or touched on at all in the tutorial (such as perks or Anti-camp), and it also only serves to tell you a couple actions you can do rather than teaching them how to do it. For example, telling a new player they can drop a pallet is not nearly as useful as putting them through a tutorial where they are guided to loop around a simple filler tile and then drop it.
There are still killers that have been S tier since their conception, while there are killers that have become completely left behind in modern DBD. Nobody is expecting perfect balance, but the difference between Nurse and Trapper or Ghost Face is ridiculously wide. Players should be able to main any character they want without being told their character is absolutely terrible.
The puny amount of servers in comparison with other live service games of similar size continues to isolate players that want to engage in countries where there are zero servers nearby. Even within the regions with the most players such as Europe or the US, the server spread is so empty that many players are still sitting on high ping, which even with better netcode will make the game feel worse to play.
We still are not able to load into a custom game by ourselves or with a killer bot. Having the ability to load into a custom game solo would give new players the chance to walk through any maps they may find confusing, and being able to add a killer bot can give players a chance to practice looping a simple killer.
For a player that already has thousands of hours in the game, the "economy" of the game isn't a big deal. However, for new players it is astronomical. Even with a standard escape cake every single game, assuming you get around 30k score per game (which is generous), it would take 3-4 hours (not including waiting time) just to get a single prestige. When putting into account how many characters there are, and how one prestige only initially unlocks the first tier of that perk, this is ridiculous to expect from a brand new player. The simplest solution would be to get rid of perk tiers and have all "tier 3" perks unlock with prestige 1, they don't really serve an actual function anyway.
Connected to the BP grind, there are iri shards. As of now, we have 54 survivors and 44 killers, and there will probably be a few more by the time the overhaul comes. Not all of these need to be unlocked, some must be paid for which is fine, and some of the non licensed characters are cheaper than others. However, for one full priced 9,000 iri shard character, it takes 35-45 hours of actively playing the game. Many people play other games as well, expecting them to either spend hundreds and hundreds of hours to unlock even just the characters on one side or spend extra money on dozens of characters is a surefire way to chase them off. More characters need to be made cheaper, whether that is at 4500 shards or ideally 2000 shards. This would not infringe on the grind for cosmetics, as cosmetics are fine being expensive because they are purely cosmetic and do not hold perks or abilities.
I genuinely love this game and want to see it succeed. The overhaul is by far its biggest chance to become something more than it is right now, but as DBD is right now it just won't be able to take advantage of that chance. The game is just way too slow with change, and I am continuously baffled by how the company behind this game has over 1200 employees. I am well aware that many of them work in publishing other games, perhaps working with license holders, etc. However, there should definitely still be hundreds of developers, and yet the game is slower to make meaningful change than any other live service game I've ever played. I understand that BHVR is navigating the balance of a unique game from a genre like hero shooters that can base balance off of other games in its field. However, this game has been out for over a decade and we still lack certain basic functions that every other live service game, big or small, already has had for years.
If BHVR is to take advantage of this chance and make DBD explode in popularity, change needs to come at a faster rate. It's okay if some things need to be corrected later, they just need to be actually worked on and fixed before the biggest event of the game's history. Any rough patches during this next year may lose some players along the way, but for the longevity of the game, for long term growth, this next year is the most important to determine DBD's success.
From a loving fan that wants to see this game become something more.
I agree with you on all points, basically, but the biggest problem is this:
Most people stopped playing DbD because of the Denuvo disaster and uninstalled it completely; trust is crumbling, or for most, it’s already gone, and so is the hope.
Most players whose processors were damaged, whose graphics cards crashed, or whose PCs and Laptops overheated due to Denuvo have completely lost faith. Players who manage to get into the game crash out of lobbies and receive matchmaking bans of up to six hours or more.
It’s not just Steam anymore, it affects all platforms, with players on Epic and consoles now also hit by these bans. Especially since 2v8 is back. Frustration is mounting, yet BHVR is stubbornly pushing ahead with the test phase and trying to cover everything up. Practically everyone feels exploited like a lab rat.. People are already speculating that BHVR simply wants our MSinfo.nfo files to spy on us.
If not for all this, I would fully agree with everything you said. But BHVR needs to earn back our trust first, and unfortunately, that’s not so easy. More than half of the Steam players have left DbD and want to play other games like Left4Dead, Fall Guys, and S6 and others. -
I’ve paid for this game (also for in-game outfits, DLCs, and so on) and I love this game, the gameplay, and even the random players I meet; that’s exactly why it hurts so much right now to see BHVR and their management driving the game into the ground with a digital wrecking ball like Denuvo…
Please, finally listen to your many players and pull the emergency brake before you lose us all…

You guys are spot on, and thank you for the upvotes! It’s absolutely insane that BHVR leaves the matchmaking penalties active while their new kernel-level anti-cheat acts like a digital wrecking ball. Getting your laptop/pc bricked and struggling to even boot or load files afterwards is exactly caused by Denuvo’s massive hard drive spikes and kernel timeouts (like the
CurrentQueue.Fencecrashes).Also, please DO NOT send them your
MSInfofiles, everyone. The support is completely overwhelmed and using 30-second auto-denial bots anyway. They just want to shift the blame to your hardware. The fact that the game even crashes in Custom Matches proves it's 100% a local Denuvo issue, not our setups. Keep your private files safe, protect your PCs, and take a break until Wednesday (Day X) when they are forced to revert this mess. We stood our ground, and they can’t ignore a burning forum! -

BHVR do NOT listen to these people. They are thrashing the comments in hope to go back to EAC.
Denuvo is very clearly better at doing it's job. The crashes always happen the first time you implement something. Nothing goes as smooth as you'd hope.
People whining that they won't play because they heard "scary" things about a program is unrealistic, EAC does the EXACT same thing, both kernel drivers.
Just keep collecting crash logs and improving.
You clearly have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
Comparing a standard, functioning EAC implementation to this broken Denuvo trial implementation proves you don't understand the underlying technical crisis. This is not about "scary rumors" or people just wanting to "whine." This is about verified, catastrophic system instability.Let's break down the actual engineering facts for you:
- Kernel-Level Corruption: This is not just a simple game crash. The faulty integration of Denuvo into the DX12 netcode blocks core Windows synchronization. It has actively corrupted critical OS files like
appsruprov.dll, forcing automated system repairs via SFC Scannow just to make PCs stable again. - Severe Hardware Risks: The loop caused by
CurrentQueue.Fencein the D3D12 utility engine forces processors into infinite cycles, resulting in massive, uncontrolled thermal spikes. Telling paying customers to just "keep collecting logs" while their four-figure hardware setups are being pushed to dangerous thermal limits is borderline reckless. - Storage Degradation: Hard freezes accompanied by massive, abnormal drive spikes of up to 1.5–1.7 GB/s are actively damaging SSD and HDD lifespans.
EAC has its flaws, but it never systematically weaponized the DX12 render pipeline to freeze the entire Windows kernel and lock players out with automated 6-hour matchmaking bans across crossplay lobbies.
We are paying customers, not uncompensated QA lab rats. If you want to let a corporation stress-test its broken, unoptimized trial phases on your own expensive hardware until it fries, be our guest. The rest of the global community values their systems and expects actual accountability.

I did contact support and you have auto denials on. Its absolutely bc of denuvo, i didnt have the issues ive been having the night before it was added. The 2nd pic is the position i was stuck in for 3 mins before i got disconnected the last time
3rd image is the automated email i got.

That is precisely why the official European DbD Discord server is in an uproar. The screenshot now confirms the technical chain reaction with 100% certainty: the Denuvo overhead causes a PC player to crash; their client drags the synchronization of the entire server lobby down with it, and the system ultimately locks out the innocent other players (most the Killerplayer). The fact that this bug completely breaks cross-platform play and punishes console players with six-hour bans is an absolute disaster.

Video about these constant & repetitive kicks… For now, I serve my sentence as punishment to try to debug when it really isn't my job…Man, that video is terrifying. Those green and white pixels flashing before the black screen are classic signs of a severe VRAM and GPU artifact collapse. Denuvo’s insane overhead is forcing the display drivers into such a critical timing delay that the graphics card is hitting the emergency brake to save itself from physical permanent damage
-
This is the smoking gun we needed, mate.
Technically speaking, that
D3D12Util.cppandCurrentQueue.Fencefatal error proves that the Denuvo overhead completely breaks the synchronization between your CPU and GPU. Because Denuvo forces the processor into an infinite loop—which explains your massive temperature spike—DirectX 12 loses the timing signal, panics, and crashes.Worse look at the bottom: it directly triggers
kernel32andntdll. This proves it’s smashing into vital Windows core files (it already corrupted my system DLLs on my Ryzen setup). The
D:\Jenkins\path proves this is 100% on BHVR's broken build and has absolutely nothing to do with your high-end rig. Please do yourself a huge favor and do NOT start the game again until this absolute garbage trial is officially over on Wednesday.
An i7-13700K running under a 360mm Kraken shouldn't be roasted by this denuvo anti cheat trial failure. Protect your hardware, it’s not worth frying your PC for their testing experiment.
Massive respect for putting these detailed specs and logs out there. Stay safe

Where are your priorities? An open letter regarding the Denuvo disaster (AMD Ryzen)
Over the past few days, I have done absolutely everything in my power to fix this—including hours of IT troubleshooting, repairing my Windows system via
sfc /scannow, and sending a clean MSInfo32 file to support. When looking at the diagnostic data, one thing becomes crystal clear: the problem is NOT our computers. This conflict is 100% caused by the faulty Denuvo update interacting with (for example) AMD Ryzen systems (like my Ryzen 7 5700X).The forums and Steam discussions are flooded with players facing the exact same issue. At this point, I want to ask Behaviour Interactive a very sincere question: Where are your priorities?
Do you really think it is acceptable to use thousands of your paying customers as guinea pigs for an update that was clearly only tested under sterile laboratory conditions? Do you seriously think it's okay that this faulty code has crashed PCs worldwide, destabilized operating systems, and corrupted vital system files (like
appsruprov.dll)? While this critical issue is being completely met with radio silence, advertisements for your new merch are popping up on Steam. Are you serious?I am definitely not alone when I demand: Shut down this test phase IMMEDIATELY, roll back the update, and issue an official statement!
Regarding compensation: It is completely absurd that players who experience in-game crashes or lobby disconnects are showered with Bloodpoints and a few Shards, while thousands of us who cannot even launch the game—or whose Windows systems were damaged by the hard crashes—receive absolutely nothing. Bloodpoints are thrown at us everywhere anyway. We deserve proper, real compensation (like an automatic Rift Pass extension) and, above all, an official and sincere apology!
This is no longer just about a few lost in-game matches. This update has corrupted operating systems in the real world and pushed hardware to its limits. I am not writing this out of spite, but as an urgent appeal: think long and hard about where your priorities lie and address this issue before the community collectively starts looking into compensation and damage claims. What exactly are you trying to test here when a massive part of your player base is completely locked out of the game??
PLEASE shut this failure down now
Furthermore, I want to emphasize that not every Dead by Daylight player is an IT professional. Through your negligence, you are forcing regular gamers to become computer technicians just to protect their systems. We must also talk about the psychological impact of this disaster. For many of us, this game is a place to escape daily stress and connect with friends. Instead, you have subjected your community to days of severe anxiety, panic, and stress. Seeing a costly PC brutally crash with Blue Screens creates genuine fear of hardware damage or losing accounts. Everyone handles stress differently, and many players are truly suffering under this situation. You are not just breaking a game; you are actively disrupting the mental well-being of your paying community. Please, look at the human cost of this failure...

Where are your priorities? An open letter regarding the Denuvo disaster (AMD Ryzen)

I got my first crash in a while but it happened on the endgame screen when the match was over, sometimes you gotta wonder how much they actually test their game.
I really dont appreciate making us the test subjects for the anti cheat, that should be done on ptb.I agree totally

alright, i thought you meant you were installing to your d drive. I seen a post on reddit about someone with the same issue as you who installed to their d drive who fixed it by installing it to c.
My apologies for the misunderstanding
No problem :) Sorry if I sounded a bit too harsh earlier

i’ve had issues with other games before not being on the c drive, you should try installing it on c.
U don't seem to have understood me; I always install to the C drive, and that’s not the problem. Support has received enough information from me to fix their broken update. The issue isn't on my end, not with my PC or anything like that.

are you installing to another drive other than your c drive?
No, my Windows and main programs are on a super fast Samsung NVMe SSD (C:). Even if a game is on my secondary internal drive (D:), it has never been an issue before. The MSInfo log showed that the error is directly related to a system conflict between Windows and the new EAC/Denuvo update on AMD setups. The support is already looking into it for a hotfix
-
But it has to do with Easy Anti-Cheat, since it still launches at the same time as soon as I start the game

I completely reinstalled DBD, and the error messages are still there!
I’ve really tried everything; after reinstalling the game, I added all the individual Denuvo files, logs, scripts, .exe, and .dll files as exceptions in my firewall and allowed them—and then my entire PC crashed. I’m sorry, but I have no interest in having my gaming PC ruined by this Denuvo crap…

i cant play the game anymore

I think you need to uninstall and then reinstall the game.
T_T meh…

I haven't been able to launch the game at all since the update; I just keep getting the same
error messages no matter what I try... I could cry.

Out of 30 rounds, I only got Judgment 3 times

I also don't think slugging and letting a survivor bleed out should count as a kill. That would make things too easy for the Killer, and no one would enjoy the game anymore since matches would simply end after three minutes. In my opinion, that defeats the purpose of the game. However, I also find the situation with "Plot Twist" outrageous. I love that perk (I really enjoy using it as a Survivor, too, but not to kill myself) I use it to heal, which is what it was designed for. When Survivors misuse the perk to let themselves bleed out in a corner… THAT should count as a normal kill for the Killer, because it amounts to griefing. Getting an Adept achievement with a 3K would be much easier for a lot of people that way, but in my eyes, it would be too easy (I haven't managed to get Adept achievements for any Killer yet myself, though I’ll keep trying). Maaaayyybe there could be an exception where a 3K only counts for the Adept achievement if the last Survivor escapes through the hatch.

I think they should update afk crows to just show their aura at 3 crows. I know it's insane to think but sometimes as killer I'm so focused on other things that I don't even realize they're afk, even as I'm really annoyed by the noises. Maybe a true sight aura read that pierces lockers?
Making them auto dc into a bot at some point would make sense though.
Totally agree

Personally, I’d prefer it if you could see the killer’s player name right from the start of the match.

The same problem exists on the Frankfurt European server. Many players use a VPN, MYC or a Python-based region changer script from GitHub to access other servers, seeking a better experience with fewer "sweaty" or toxic matches. I also like using the Python region changer to escape that toxicity, something that is perfectly legal. However, I have reservations about using it in the future due to the Denuvo anti-cheat trial phase. I don't want to get banned just because I want to avoid sweaty, toxic players…
-
Oh Yes please that would be awesome

Or instead of nerf or completely disabling Oni instead of Legion (my thought a comment earlier), I would love to propose two alternative solutions for future iterations of the 2v8 event:
Option 1: Dynamic Lock System (Mutually Exclusive Selection)
The developers could implement a mechanic in the lobby that prevents both Killers from being picked at the same time. If Player 1 selects Legion, Oni is automatically locked out for Player 2 (and vice versa). This completely eliminates the broken synergy (Legion injuring everyone -> Oni getting infinite Blood Orbs) while keeping both Killers available in the game mode.Option 2: Killer Rotation System
Since the 2v8 mode returns as a recurring event, BHVR could rotate the available Killer roster every month or every time the event goes live. For example: Month A features Legion (without Oni), and Month B features Oni (without Legion). This would keep the event feeling fresh and dynamic every time it returns, while giving all Killer mains a chance to play their favorites. -
That would be great! I want this too. I wanted to write this concept up as a suggestion myself, with a very similar idea regarding the map and the Impala as an Easter egg, but you beat me to it xD I would like to write down a few of my own ideas for this:
- The Survivors (The Team & Skins): Dean Winchester and Sam Winchester serve as the base Survivors. To complete the iconic squad, Castiel and Crowley (an absolute fan favorite!) arrive as Legendary Skins. Castiel acts as a skin for Sam, and Crowley as a skin for Dean, ensuring they reuse the exact same skeleton rigs for zero code risk.
- The Map: The Cursed Highway (Compact & Balanced Layout):
- The Map Style: The structural layout directly mirrors highly successful, balanced maps like Greenville Square or Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. It focuses on one single, high-value central main building surrounded by balanced outdoor loops.
- The Main Building (The Diner): The central structure of the map is a creepy, dimly lit, abandoned roadside diner. This serves as the main building with unique vaults, generator spawns, and tight indoor loops.
- The Killer Shack (The Forest Cabin): The classic Killer Shack is visually reskinned as a small, dilapidated wooden cabin hidden in the dense forest surrounding the diner.
- The Ultimate Easter Egg: Parked right outside on the diner's dusty gravel parking lot, players can find Dean’s iconic 1967 Chevrolet Impala "Baby" with its headlights dimly glowing through the fog. It serves as a static map asset, requiring zero driving physics.
