WHEN IS THIS GOING TO END!?!
When will denovu be gone so I can actually play DBD again… This has ruined the game for me. Unplayable. So people spend their money and then can’t even play anymore. On to the next game. But seriously when is this “trial” over?
thank you

Why is it unplayable for you? Can you not log in?
unfortunately it's more than just not being able to login. there's a lot of stability problems that were caused by the anticheat being tested recently. people are repeatedly crashing, getting error messages about EAC's dll still being present, memory-based crashes, input delay and bricking, system lockups trying to load into the main lobby, etc.
it's all around a mess.
i asked before the trial started and mandy told me they couldn’t say when it ends
what???? that's actually ridiculous.
this entire thing is abysmal. not only are they not even testing it in the areas they're supposed to, but people are being barred from playing the game they bought access to because of things out of their control.
at this point it makes me wonder if a proper boycott of the game is warranted here. at the rate things are going though, unfortunately i don't think that many players will commit because they don't feel inconvenienced enough. but this is a direct reflection of what most companies do in the industry now, and there's a genuine lack of care and respect for people who are interested in their game.
While I totally hear you on these things being frustrating, I did want to jump in to clarify that the stability concerns being attributed to Denuvo are not connected to the Anti-Cheat Trial. This release cycle included an engine update, which we now know has led to the increase in issues (like crashing) you're referring to.
While the bugfix patch this week helped alleviate some of these issues, there's still more to do, which the team is hard at work on. For the input delay specifically, this appears to be a case of a GPU driver reacting unexpectedly to the engine update. If you're running into this, updating to the newest GPU drivers can help.
To add to what MashedBroccoli mentioned above, the reason we are not currently sharing the end date of the test is to ensure the integrity of the trial.
kudos to the bughunters that discovered the GPU drivers behaving unexpectedly and contributed to recent bugfixes, but a driver update and further debugging is not going to address the core of this problem. the core is proper communication and management of the target issues at hand, which is a repeated problem.
players who are severely impacted do not have an approximate timeframe of when they can interact with your product again due to being forced to participate in something that could not be opted out of. there was also no mention of this new engine update being pushed in the patch notes for neither version 10.1.1 or 10.1.2's currently published patch notes, which is leading players, including myself, to believe the most recent major change made to the game (denuvo anti-cheat) is the source.
there wasn't a signal of a intended engine update either as far as i'm aware, so the people that are being affected currently have no clue as to what's going on. why is this change suddenly being mentioned in a single thread that someone has to go digging for in the forums and not being properly broadcasted for awareness, as it should've been from the start? you should not be individually responding to me for something like this.
in all fairness, while i understand that you're doing your best to preserve the integrity of the anti-cheat trial, whoever is responsible for patch and version control made this ten times messier and significantly more complicated by performing an engine update at the same time. these two should not have been released simultaneously because now it's going to be difficult for the people who are affected to troubleshoot and identify issues.
The issues with stutteres, random replacements, and that the game stops making sounds for a second has been in the game since The Tomb Raider chapter (When the game switched to UE5). I made the experience that these issues become more and more common, especially when there is a second gamemode, and we are at a point where it's just so unpleasent and annoying since it affects matches by no longer knowing what is going on.
You really need to fix these issues. It's just embrassing that these things are in the game for over two years.
Patch Note Failure:
There is absolutely no mention of an intended engine update in the official patch notes for version 10.1.1 or 10.1.2. Pushing an invasive Ring-0 kernel trial simultaneously with a major engine update without broadcasting it for awareness is the absolute definition of catastrophic version control. You have made it impossible for players to isolate and troubleshoot these critical technical defects.
The "GPU Driver" Myth:
Telling players with high-end rigs to simply "update their GPU drivers" to fix severe WASD input drift and 100-percent CPU spikes is a textbook excuse. This is a clear case of third-party software conflict at the Ring-0 level, heavily compromising system stability.
The Cheater Farce:
You claim you are hiding the end date to "ensure the integrity of the trial" against cheaters. Yet, YouTube is currently flooded with uncut footage of cheaters teleporting, flying, and locking generators in every single match despite Denuvo being active. The only integrity this trial has destroyed is the performance and paid Rift-Pass experiences of your legitimate Steam customer base.
The Final Blow:
Stop shifting the blame onto our hardware. If your team cannot safely manage your own software deployments, deactivate the trial server-side immediately before the economic fallout for this whole game gets even worse!
Don't you think it's really reckless to test on people whose pcs are incredibly expensive with the current state of the market? LOL
this is so tonedeaf to me
Hiding the end date makes zero sense. The trial is on Steam openly, cheaters knew the new anti-cheat was coming a mile away. Either they won't play or boot up their free Epic version and cheat on that. Even if you stealthly deployed Denuvo the end user still needs to install it. At that point cheaters will nope out and boot up Epic.
Why was this trial on Steam and not Epic? Why not in a PTB where it could be opt into? You can't possibly believe you are catching cheaters with an open trial like this.

i want to again bring attention to the issue that even after it was made clear that there's no announcement regarding an engine update during this testing phase, there is still yet to be one and we are 24 hours into the statement being made in a thread that got quickly buried. people are still not aware.
please globally inform the playerbase and do not leave this as an individual response. you are creating an excessive amount of confusion and we cannot properly troubleshoot our issues nor create accurate bug reports because of two major things being tested at the same time.
