  • Do you play on European servers? If so, I wouldn't be opposed to joining yous if there's ever space.

  • I figured I was probably in the minority when it comes to this. I did find it interesting to see people's thoughts though. Thanks for the responses!

  • I've probably played with and against forum members unknowingly before. I don't think I've ever SWF'd with anyone on here though. My time on the forums, and the game in general, can be a bit sporadic. That obviously doesn't lend well to organising SWFs.

  • Not gonna lie, I was hoping that this was going to be a Rickroll. Frankly, I'm disappointed :(

  • Yayyy another extremely biased poll. What fun!

  • These days, I mainly just check the forums if I'm bored or if I have a question.

If I may add an additional possibility:

    Quest-Packs:

Allow players to buy questpacks with unique challenges and additonal lore (more fleshed out than tomes) that have a legendary cosmetic plus recolours as final reward.

Thus a legendary outfit would not just say 'look, i have a lot of money' but would give genuine bragging right because you went and did all those challenges.

Or have the legendary cosmetic as such, but have recolours in the packs, and see what sells better.

That's a pretty cool idea! I'd totally be cool with that being added.

Wouldn't that always be a yes? Either way, thanks for the response.

Makes you wonder if it should be a built in mechanic (but reduced, like 3 seconds).

Honestly, I used to think the same. However, I've realised more recently that some Killers can get a LOT of value out of knowing exactly where everyone is at the start. To the point where I think Lethal being a perk is justified. Although, I would like it to get a buff so that it can be triggered at least one extra time (Maybe it can retrigger when you sacrifice your first Survivor?)

Anyhow, here's a few examples of how good Lethal can be good on Pinhead in particular.

My own personal crutch perk is Corrupt btw.

What are the type of survivors people generally complain about on here? And elsewhere? The kind most killers want to avoid?

Bully squads and sweat squads. Two subgenres of SWF (not the majority of them alright, I play in a SWF too), one has the objective of making the killer, who ideally has less experience than them, have as much of a bad time as possible. The other wants back to the lobby within 5 minutes if possible.

Neither of these groups has interest in running this crap, you see any survivors like this taking much interest in healing or running dance with me or deception to mess with their scratchmarks? Or having any interest in totems which are a distraction from the only thing they're focused on (i.e. gens or yourself) It's a new option for those who prefer more interesting playstyles.

I'm not saying they don't need any tweaks, I don't really like being able to move them without the killer snuffing them for one thing, but I don't think their introduction is a bad thing. If they turn out to be insanely meta and OP feel free to reference this post back to me and I'll put haddonfield on my next 10 killer matches as penance for being a naive idiot but seriously - I don't think it'll be so bad.

    https://youtu.be/xS-VhpJJMgg

I honestly think that bully squads are gonna love the perk. Although, I guess only time will tell. You're more than likely correct about the sweat squads though. They'd probably prefer to just hammer out the gens like normal.

Adam's "Denim Ember" outfit from the 3rd tome (a recolor of his "Canadian Tuxedo" outfit) just got re-released. So yes, it also applies to recolors.

Oh that's true! Awesome! Hopefully the Jake Park outfit comes to the store eventually. Thank you, both of you.

  • @Woodywool said:

Outfits from the rift will release in the store after a half a year of closing or 1 year or... more than 1 year lol.

I thought that just applied to the more unique outfits. Does it apply to recolours as well?

  • I'm undecided as of right now as we've only seen tests just far. I'd want to see how SBMM fares after being in the game for a few weeks or even a month. By then, we'd be able to get a good estimate on if it's working or not.

  • I'll purchase him if/when he receives a more noteworthy buff.

To be honest, no. I'm genuinely glad that they were changed.

  • Game's been annoying me a lot lately but I have genuinely enjoyed playing Demo again. I didn't have the stranger things DLC on my PC account, but I decided to buy it with the sale. I honestly do not regret it. I forgot how fun Demo can be. Perhaps that fun will be short-lived but for now, DBD is kinda alright, lol.

    Maybe go for different persons?

Like, you have 0 reason to actually be mad about DS. If the Survivor does anything to progress the game (which was the main point against DS), they lose it.

And if you get hit by a DS after almost a minute, this Survivor did nothing the whole time just to keep their DS.

That's technically not true considering that you can open the exit gates and not lose DS. Maybe this is just me, but I would absolutely count opening the exit gate as an action that progresses the game.

Has anybody else noticed a significant change in the difficulty of killer games recently? Like I've been a rank 1 killer for half a year now and recently started playing blight a couple of months ago. Before I was getting 4k left and righ and I could relax most of the time. As of lately every match has been really sweaty just to get about 2 kills. All 4 survivors seem to always be of a high level looping wise and the gens fly by a lot quicker than they used to. BEFORE i could get a reliable 3 kills on deathslinger as well but now I struggle to get even one with farely shkrt chases. I'm asking if anybody else feels this way recently, and for reasons as to why this is happening.

Personally, yeah. My matches have been tougher too. I'm not sure if my skill has just degraded over time or what. Maybe the recent MMR test has caused people to sweat a lot more?

  • @Gamergirl69OWO said:

Now that its become a debate topic in the community due to some videos recently being made, it would seem like Small PP killed edition is the next on the nerf meta block. It will probably go the same as DS+ UB where the combo gets utterly destroyed, but I would like to see what you guys think some cool nerfs would be to the combo.

I wouldn't change them at all. Unlike the old Survivor 'small pp' build, the Killer 'small pp' build has meaningful counter play. As Survivor, you can:

Run detectives hunch or small game. (This will become much more viable once inner strength becomes a general perk)

    AND / OR

Split up on gens. Seriously. The Killer can only pressure one person at a time if you split up.

When both of these are used, it is entirely possible to beat this build consistently.

  • You're kind of exaggerating his weaknesses, OP. I do agree however that Oni is severely overrated. A team of Survivors who can make getting the first hit very difficult will absolutely destroy even a good Oni (Avoiding the first hit isn't even that hard if you've got sprint burst and/or good map RNG). Sure, he'll get the hit eventually. By that point though, 3 or more gens may have popped and all the Survivors should be spread out. Therefore, you cannot snowball easily. Especially if there's a few Unbreakables and/or Decisives in the mix.

Generally speaking, people seem to think Oni is good because he can stomp in Pubs. The level of coordination needed to properly counter him is rarely ever found in the average solo que team after all. In the average solo que team or casual swf, people will make mistakes such as taking a hit early or they'll all group up making snowballing easy as hell. However even a semi coordinated team, swf or not, would destroy the average Oni. Maybe even good Onis. Either way, Oni is barely ever ran in comp for a reason.

I disagree, it makes perfect sense to me. Nurse's power is teleportation, after which she can turn her camera and lunge normally. Blight's lethal rush attack is functionally distinct from a normal lunge, as the hitbox is much wider (and I want to say a tad shorter?) than a normal lunge, and the angle of attack is restricted.

A good rule of thumb is, if an attack used during or after a killer's power isn't functionally identical to a regular lunge, then it's a special attack.

I suppose you're right. As someone else pointed out, Blight's M2 can break pallets whereas Nurse's cannot. I forgot about that but it does kinda justify Nurse's not counting as a special attack. It is still kinda weird to me that the power that ignores all Survivor defences doesn't count as a special attack. I get why it's not a special attack. Still seems a bit unfair but oh well.

    @IlliterateGenocide said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2461217#Comment_2461217

Would changing spirit and nurse power attack to special be 2 big of a nerf, I think they need something but I don't want them to be ruined

It definitely would reduce the variance in what perks they could use but they'd still be insane as it wouldn't actually change their kit much. Honestly, making their M2s count as special attacks isn't really the nerf they need. The fact that they can use perks which require basic attacks is only a problem because of how good Spirit and Nurse are.

  • Killers have the potential to do more toxic things (e.g. Bleeding someone out on the ground purely to spite them). Although Survivor toxicity is usually less extreme, it's still pretty abundant. Overall, I'd say that in my experience, Survivor toxicity is more common. However, I do see toxic behaviour from the Killer side enough to kinda warrant picking both. Although now that I think about it, I should've put down Survivors. Oh well, too late to change it now, lol.

  • @Afius said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2461165#Comment_2461165

Well it kind of makes sense because spirit and nurse's power technically ends and you can't hit until after it's done.

That's actually not true for Nurse. Nurse and Blight's powers are actually similar.

    • They both press M2 to use a mobility ability
    • They both go into fatigue if they fail to continue onto the next rush/blink or if they're on their final rush/blink
    • They both suffer a unique fatigue upon a successful hit whilst using their power.

Kinda baffling really that Nurse's M2 doesn't count as a special attack to be honest.

  • I almost never take it off. It genuinely is a lifesaver in solo que. Only issue is, kindred may give a lot of info to the team, but it can't cure stupidity. If my teammates want to leave me on hook, then you can bet your bottom dollar that they'd do it, Kindred or not. Sometimes, people aren't even being malicious. Some teammates are just completely oblivious to what's going on in the game and kindred does little to help. Nonetheless, Kindred is a staple in my solo que build due to the massively increased efficiency regarding unhooks.

Because I have to be able to hear what is going on at home I can not wear headphones during gameplay. How important are they to playing well? Do they make a big difference in determining where other players are? Does it make game noises more accurate, like is the Huntress still super loud even though she is a mile away from you?

For the most part, headphones are quite important. If you're playing Survivor, you can run perks like Spine chill and stake out to kinda make up for the lack of clarity in the sound. It's truthfully, not even worth playing Killer without headphones. It is totally possible, but I personally wouldn't recommend it.

    This is really poor.

My guess is that the team responsible for analysing reports and dishing out bans is understaffed. Although, it's entirely possible that I'm wrong as I have no insider information. I would imagine that they're bombarded with dozens or even hundreds of reports each and every day. Trying to get through them all would be a nightmare. So it could be that they're understaffed, or it could be because it may be difficult to address the sheer number of reports. Or it's both.

  • @Phasmamain said:

The only god tier nurse I fought had everyone slugged in 2 minutes because she brought IF and a jigsaw piece

Something similar for me, lol. Games against good Nurses regularly end in 4 man slugs in my experience. Most of the game's playerbase just aren't equipped to deal with good Nurses I guess (me included tbf). Hopefully MMR helps with this.

Yes. You should still run it if you want though. Might as well have fun with this game while it lasts.

Oh I want the blood. I think it's cool. I just want it to dissappear when I'm healthy and not stay there the whole match.

That's how Friday the 13th was.

When you were injured you were bloody and then it disappeared when you healed yourself.

I dunno, that would kinda defeat the point of having it for me to be honest. It's probably not going to happen anyways so no reason to be concerned I guess.

  • @MojoTheFabulous said:

Checked the tome earlier and it said 29 minutes left. Now it's been at 1 minute left for over 20 minutes. Is the timer simply set wrong and the challenges actually release on the next hour or is it bugged?

You should reset your game. Resetting fixed it for me.

  • Using a Key without DS? You must be either brave or insane, lol.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

People always talk about hidden rules for either side so I thought I'd join in and go through my own rules. What are your own rules? Do you agree?

Both rules: DO NOT SEND HATE, Dont use an X sided map and be mean about it. Dont DC.

Survivor rules: Dont click flashlights, Dont t-bag, dont quick switch.

Killer: dont shake/nod at downs, dont hit on hook, dont camp/4man slug near start of the game.

Endgame: Anything goes means the killer can camp and tunnel, survivors can leave or stay just no toxicity about it.

Pretty simple rules, no BM for either side. Play as sweaty or as casual as you like just dont be toxic or quit because of it. As the game is nearing an end the killer is allowed to play more harsh in terms of hook proximity or tunneling in a last ditch effort before the games over.

Understand both sides want to play, have fun and try to win. No perks, killers, offerings or items are toxic. All are allowed without hate or backlash.

Keys need to be balanced, if you're using one fine, just dont quick switch. killers can be allowed to back out or start playing more harsh to counter the key until a suitable balance is put into play

My only rule is to never BM. Only exception is if the other side is BM'ing me to the point of it being really annoying. I also rarely use exhaustion perks as Survivor but that's not really a rule. I just don't like them, lol.

  • @ProfoundEnding said:

    Head: Expedition beanie (dark gray)

    Torso: Hiking jacket (gray)

Legs: Sturdy cargo pants (light gray)

Probably not the best stealth outfit but I've found a bit of success with this one. The gray looks a bit bland but hey, it's an outfit intended for stealth, not fashion. You can swap out the beanie for whatever really as long as it isn't too bright or flashy. Indeed, the default or scruffy Jake headpieces might be even better than the beanie. The cargo pants are a little on the lighter side so there's probably a better option. I just chose the gray one because it matches the all gray aesthetic. You'd be surprised how well you can blend with the gray hiking jacket though. Even on low graphics settings with a brightness filter.

  • I mean, it's not a huge deal. The recolours of her default outfit are still great for stealth as far as I'm aware.

  • @lordfart said:

Why is P3 Claudette not viable anymore what happened to her outfit??

It may still be viable but her prestige was nerfed a bit with her model rework. Her prestige overall has a lot less blood on it so she's a bit easier to see. They did the same to Jake's prestige, although not to the same extent.

Title. That's your post. It's not baseless. You don't need stealthy outfit if you know how to run. So that's best advice you'll ever get

Even if you're good at looping, it still makes sense to use a more 'immersed' outfit. Indeed, a good player with a dark outfit can be a nightmare for the killer. A good Survivor with a dark outfit is able to be stealthy when they need to, but can also still take aggro and waste lots of the Killer's time.

  • @GannTM said:

What did she do to you? She’s an amazing woman that just wanted to live a normal life yet all you people just hate on her. It’s not her fault that the people that play as her ruin her rep. I guarantee you if it was actually Claudette herself controlling Claudette, she would be the most caring person for her teammates in every trial and it’s just facts.

In my experience, there's typically two kinds of people who play Claud. The immersed kind of Survivor who would rather kill their granny then ever take aggro, and then there's the super cocky Survivor who often is overly keen to get into chase. Them types typically are either god tier loopers or they're absolutely terrible. Depends on the player. Anyhow, as others have said, the character herself is fine. It's just that she often attracts some unpleasant players. The only character that I truly despise is Yun-Jin because according to the lore, she seemed like a truly terrible person. Considering that she's a Survivor, that's kind of worthy of note. Obviously, most of the Killers are terrible people too. They're literal murderers though so that's kind of a given.
