I wouldn't necessarily say that they're iconic considering that apart from annoying tweets, I've never really heard of these characters before. When I say annoying tweets, I mean the ones where people spam every tweet from Behaviour with 'please add x character' and it's usually accompanied by some mildly cringy gif of said character. I'm personally not at all invested in the franchise because it seems kinda dumb but hey, if you ever get your wish then good for you I guess.

So, opinions on Blood Warden?
Let the Blood Warden revolution begin, GoobyNugget.
Typically just a wasted perk slot, especially with MMR (I know this is only a test but the Devs seem dead-set on introducing MMR so it's likely going to be introduced permanently at some point in the future). If anything, some sort of buff would be nice. It can be incredibly fun though and is VERY powerful against Survivors that forget that it exists.

I love Jane's outfits, but I seriously think she's sorely missing more casual wear. Some sneakers in more of her cosmetics would be nice, maybe more jeans as well. Alot of her outfits have her shoes flats or heels I believe there's only 1 outfit with sneakers but I hope we get more~
I did notice myself after reading this post that most of her cosmetics just feature sandles or boots. Would definitely be nice for more variety I suppose.

What did you do this weekend?
I did ######### all really. Main highlights were that I played a lotta DBD, watched Youtube and I watched the season finale of the bad batch (I kinda have mixed feelings on the show tbh). Bit pathetic I guess. Hopefully things get a bit more exciting once I go to college. Nice to see a wholesome discussion for once.

If only hiding from the killer were a thing anymore. People wonder why survivors ‘gen rush’ and commit to gens; well, there’s simply no option to hide near most generators these days. Or much of anywhere at all.
It definitely is harder to hide nowadays with just base-kit Survivor gameplay due to newer maps often being open as well as other factors. However, if a Survivor wants to be stealthy then there are several perks that can aid them in doing so. These range from perks that allow the Survivor to hide and escape mid-chase (Dance with me, iron will, lucky break) to perks that can aid in avoiding chase entirely (Urban evasion, fixated and again, Iron will). Stealth isn't necessarily consistent but it's probably still semi-viable with the right perk build. Cosmetics are important too obviously. An Ace with a pink top is going to have a much harder time hiding then the P3 Jake, lol. I don't think anyone wonders why 'gen-rushing' happens. I mean, nooby Killers do but that's just because they lack understanding of the game.

Im sure we were being a bit facetious here. But, I think part of it being boring is also by design. Survivor is a team aspect of the game, and someone must also put in the boring work/grunt work if you will for the team to escape. Therefore each member of the team has to make a decision on when it is important for them to do some genny work, even if it bores the hell out of them. Or you are a detriment to your team.
Are you trying to say that it's impossible to design a core objective that is fun in a team based game? I don't really understand what you're trying to get at.

Yet, you have lots of people who complain about tunneling, when chasing is supposedly the most fun part of the game. I've read many angry comments, berating killers for not letting them go so they can work on generators, open chests and cleanse totems. It just goes to show that you can't please everyone.
People typically complain about tunnelling for two reasons if I'm not mistaken.
- Being tunnelled typically means that they'll be taken out of the game early which can be frustrating
- If a Survivor is genuinely being hardcore tunnelled then they're usually in a very bad position so the odds are usually completely stacked in the Killer's favour. That doesn't exactly make for an engaging chase if they go down in just 10 seconds or less.
-
@BabuDweet said:
play killer.
@Clevite said:
Yeah, play killer. I think survivor is not meant to be interactive the whole game. You are on a team of four and must take turns doing objectives to collectively escape. Take turns getting chased, hooks, saves, heals, totems, ...etc. This is why Selfish Q can be a nightmare, because so many have no desire to do the boring stuff , hence why a two minute chase results in one gen popping.
I think you're both missing the point completely. The OP is complaining about the fact that the Survivor's core objective (gens) is extremely boring by design. The Devs themselves knew how boring it is so they added little mini-games (skill checks) to distract from the unbearably boring 'gameplay' of sitting still for 80 seconds just staring at a progress bar. The Dev's priorities are mismatched. They should be incentivising chases with in-game mechanics but instead, the primary objective for Survivor is to sit on what is essentially a loading screen. The 'game' is a series of watching progress bars fill up, followed by the occasional chase where the game actually becomes fun. Or alternatively, some people enjoy hiding from the Killer and the tension of just barely getting away with it. Both are significantly more exciting then staring at a progress bar. Telling the OP to just 'play killer' does not actually solve the issue the OP is addressing.

I’m currently in the middle of the English countryside and don’t have access to my computer, and I won’t get to try out the MMR due to not going home till the day the test ends. so how’s the system that is perfect in every way and has zero problems working for everyone?
VERY hit or miss. Either I play like a scumbag and win or I play nice and lose horribly. There's typically no in-between. I was having a lot of fun with a Killer I didn't normally play (Wraith) because I didn't have to sweat super hard, but the Survivors weren't babies either. However, I may have boosted my MMR too much because now, I think I'm getting sweaty Survivors again. Ya know, the 'I lose 2-3 gens for even thinking about chasing a Survivor' kind of thing. Really frustrating to be honest. I really do not enjoy playing super sweaty but it's essentially a requirement to win now. Maybe this is a good thing. Maybe MMR will aid to expose what is one of the biggest issues with the game (In my opinion at least). That being, when both sides are taking a particular match seriously, then the Killer cannot win without playing in a way that actively impedes Survivor's fun (i.e. Slugging, tunnelling and camping). This could potentially cause the Devs to make more meaningful changes to the core of the gameplay. Although, considering the Dev team that we're talking about, this is probably just naive optimism and nothing more. Either way, the Devs seem dead set on the idea of MMR so I'm a bit worried for the game's future.

They probably need something to show that you are high mmr. So streamer can prove that they are good player. Instead of winstreaks streamer could go for a high mmr rating.
I don't that'd be much consolation for content creators like Otz. Besides, we aren't shown our MMR anyways right? So they wouldn't know if they're even on the high end of MMR or not.

I agree. MMR isn't going to be fun at the higher skill levels for both sides. The game isn't even based around skilled players it's based around casuals which only makes it worse.
I agree. Overall though, MMR will probably be a good thing for the average player. Matches will feel more fair and games where either side stomps the other will hopefully become much rarer. Content creators will probably suffer the most. Survivor content creators will likely be ok because it's still possible to play without the meta and win as long as you and your teammates are good. Killer content creators will probably suffer hard though.
I suppose this all just stems back to the fact that its simply not possible to even consider 12 Hooking against even semi-decent teams. So of course, High MMR is likely going to be a huge mishmash of tunnelling, slugging and camping (Which people typically don't enjoy). Ironically, if playing nice and 12 hooking became a somewhat viable strategy then MMR might just be a net benefit for the whole community. The Devs wouldn't do that though so I guess we're stuck in a situation where most players will be fine but the best players will take a hit.

In theory good survivor could handycap themself and lower their ratings. (No items/perks etc.)
And i dont understand why they need killer variety. Good survivor play the same against almost every weak killer. Whats the difference between predropping pallets against Myers, Legion, Pig etc. Its the same gameplay.
That's true but it's not necessarily their fault. It's the Devs fault that holding W and pre-dropping pallets is so effective. The players are just taking advantage of that. Of course, this does in turn lead back to the issue of not enough Killers being viable against high MMR Survivors. If each Killer was buffed to have some tool to counter holding W then this wouldn't be as much of an issue but I honestly can't see the Devs going to all that effort so we're stuck back at square one.

Sure, I wouldn't mind any advice. I don't think I'll be playing Blight anytime soon probably because I just got burned out on losing so many times in a row to survivors I definitely would have killed had I been playing nearly anybody else, but I'll definitely take a look at the guide and depending on how good it is maybe I'll be inspired to try again who knows.
Posted the guide for ya. I totally appreciate that it can be hard to get inspired when you're losing a lot. Just remember that once you learn him, you'll become a killing machine. Oh and don't beat yourself up for losing on a bad map either. Blight is decent on most maps but he can really struggle on swamp or RPD.

@TicTac said:
I see some people say that if there would be MMR they would only play against S-rank killer. But doesnt that mean that the survivor is good enough that other killer cannot win against them? So whats the point? Isnt it boring to win when you know the other player has a disadvantage?
Maybe, but People like winning whereas People don't like losing. So, when something is introduced that makes it harder to win then that upsets people. There is also a potential lack of variety in Killers to play against which could make things boring for top level players. Only a small handful of Killers are actually viable against good Survivor teams (Mainly Nurse, Spirit and maybe Blight). This means of course that the High MMR Killers are only going to play those Killers because if they played anyone else, it'd be a guaranteed loss. I don't think there'd be as many complaints in this regard if most of the Killer roster stood a chance against good Survivor teams. As of right now though, most Killers cannot compete with good Survivors. This isn't necessarily a bad thing considering the casual nature of the game but it obviously poses a problem for High MMR play.

@Altarf I mentioned this thread to one of the wiki guys and they went ahead and tested the list again. Everything was the same, except for Victor now depleting tokens, as you said. I've been mulling things over in my head and here's what I think happened with Victor.
What the devs probably did is redefine when a token is depleted when attacking with a killer power. The way it appears to work now is that as long as the killer is in their M2 phase without attacking, no tokens are lost, but as soon as they press M1 during that phase, it will deplete one.
This change allows Blight to use his rush without depleting tokens, as long as he doesn't go for an attack, since he's only pressing M2 to use his rush tokens. Unfortunately, the only collateral damage this change brought with it is Victor depleting tokens now, because as far as the game is concerned, Victor is Charlotte's M2. Whenever she's controlling Victor, she's in her M2 phase and pouncing is pressing M1 in that phase, depleting a token now.
Oh that's interesting. Maybe I'll give PWYF Clown a go someday. I know you weren't addressing me with the comment but thanks for the update nonetheless.

PWYF was useful on Bubba, because he was quite weak and his Instadown justified to get those PWYF-Tokens, however, with Blight, you dont need the extra Movement Speed most of the time to down people.
It would be useful for Loops where you cannot really use your power, because those become laughable with 1 or more PWYF-Tokens, but is that really worth running this Perk and potentially Nemesis?
For the fun factor, I'd say it be worth running, lol.

Technically speaking I guess I have two, because they're the ones I've got at P3 with all perks: Ghostface and then FreddyShoot. I just remembered while writing I should've said three. I've also got Oni at P3 all perks as well. I just haven't had him at P3 all perks for as long as the former two so I forgot.
So technically 3 mains: Ghostface, Freddy, Oni. Change my vote pls.
However I cycle through a lot more than that, and I basically play through whoever I've got a daily for (which means cycling through all the killers at some point or another). But to be more specific, I play a lot of Nemesis and Deathslinger so they would be the runner ups to be considered as mains.
I'd also like to learn Blight but frankly it's just too difficult to learn a technical killer like Blight when you're at red ranks and most survivors are light enough on their feet to dodge out of the way of a lethal rush in time. So that's been a real struggle and I haven't played Blight in a long while because of it.
Despite my frustrations with him, Blight is an immeasurably fun Killer to play if you take the chance to learn him. Blight is a struggle to be sure but perhaps you could just crutch on the typical Blight meta? It'll buy you some time to practice his rushes. I can link a solid guide if you'd like in the media lounge (The video is no longer age-restricted so it should be grand)

Trapper and Blight currently. Although I have to admit that Blight's wonky collision makes me enjoy him less and less over time. It just feels truly horrible to lose out on a potential hit because he slides off a wall or object. Trapper can be pretty frustrating at times too so he's no saint either, lol.

Stridor is in a really bad spot atm so I'd say yeah. It was basically only used seriously by Spirit players but after the nerf, it's used by basically nobody.

Why is that evidence of stubbornness, as opposed to just them liking the way the map is now, the same way many people like RCPD?
Many people at the time criticized the over abundance of safe pallets. If I remember correctly, the Devs entirely ignored all of this criticism and the map has gone unchanged since. Perhaps stubbornness was the wrong word to use but it's quite apparent that the Devs often disregard even genuine criticism when it comes to map design.
-
The map is horrible from a gameplay standpoint but it is likely going to remain exactly the same. The Devs can be pretty stubborn as evidenced by the fact that the game map has still gone untouched after it's rework.

Last night I played a few matches with trapper and I lost most of them, only won because some people disconnected. Reminded me why I stopped playing him after rank 10. Today I watched latest video of Otzdarva avoiding some traps and it really makes me sad how Trapper has been long forgotten from BHVR, being once the mascot of the game, won "Best New Character", and now he rots in the absolute lowest tier of killers, almost next to the clown-Oh wait he actually got a buff a few months ago.
Survivors currently can step on a trap (If they're low-medium rank survivors, the best survivors or a premade will probably never step in one), free themselves, get injured, and then step on another trap, and another, and another and another trap because their feets are just inmortal, and you depend on a purple addon to finally get them in the dying state. His traps spawn in random places and it takes a good second to place one, so the moment you placed a few traps you already have 3 gens done in the background. Did I mention they're basically getting rid of all grass in every map? Your traps are visible from a mile away in the new Coldwind Farm. God helps you if one of the survivors has or finds a map in a chest because your entire trap system will be disabled in a matter of seconds. Also someone decided he was too overpowered so now you can't place traps too close to each other, or gens, or even the damn exit gates. So the last thing left for you to do is either camp a hooked survivor or carry the controversial perk NoOneEscapesDeath and hopefully you'll get 1-2 kills and a bunch of big words in the post game chat (and sometimes in your steam profile too).
People have asked for a long time to give him a little buff, just making his brown bag part of base kit would be waaay more viable. BHVR in all of its glory decided to buff him ONE time in the last months, making the trapped survivor be a little less lucky to free themselves, and of course that was essentially useless since they can still escape in 3 tries. The only piece of real help was his physical rework, making his traps now darker (THANK YOU).
In conclusion, Trapper is INCREDIBLY outdated (ironic since the devs are more concerned about "making a nice-looking-updated-game for the new generation of consoles" instead of the actual game), he's not fun on medium-high ranks, you need the absolute meta build to have a decent chance of winning. Thinking about it, if he never existed, and today someone at BHVR says "Hey I have this concept of a new killer called The Trapper" that dude would be fired after one minute of gameplay of this killer. If BHVR ever decides to touch him again they should either give him a massive buff or delete him forever and gift 1 million BP to everyone for the inconvenience of playing him. I don't see him as a killer with a power, i see him as a derank machine and a lunge attack trainer.
BUFF TRAPPER.
It definitely is very bizarre that they've essentially left the game's mascot in the dust. I really want to like Trapper but it's upsetting how awful he is. Even when I'm doing really well and getting lots of successful traps, hits and downs, I still lose somewhat regularly because Trapper has absolutely no way to defend gens against even remotely efficient Survivors. Best he can hope for is to snowball (Which is impossible if the Survivors are smart and spread out). I agree that Trapper needs far, FAR more then just a bag add-on being base-kit. Whether he will ever receive a proper buff remains to be seen, although I have little hope.

Technically not the way dbd maths is concerned.
Basically you input 1 charge each second (c/s) by default. Action time is calculated in charges per second, based on the number of charges needed divided by the charges put in per second.
Regular healing is 16 seconds as it needs 16 charges to complete, with 1 charge each second inputted. Sloppy butcher reduces this to 0.8 charges a second (reduced by 20%), making healing take 20 seconds to complete (16/0.8). Leader takes this 0.8 and multiplies it by 1.25, giving you (0.8*1.25) or 1. They balance each other out.
Huh, that's strange. Fair enough. Thank you for the info!

To answer this question you don't see any bar colour changes on your end, only the people performing the action see the bar change colour.
Sorry, perhaps I wasn't clear. I meant that in the clip it didn't show a yellow bar when Rymo was healing me.

Oh my apologies. Yeah I meant resurgence. If I remember correctly, the Spirit did have sloppy butcher. If I'm not mistaken though, shouldn't leader still give a slightly faster then normal heal? Leader gives a boost of 25% whereas Sloppy butcher makes it go slower by 20%

Both of those perks are quite bad though. Overcharge is just straight up useless and dragon's grip is extremely situational. When you say things like that, you're essentially accepting this strange and unfair tactic from the Developers.
