Probably not. I imagine that the spaghetti code would be a nightmare to work with and I also suck at anything art related, lol.

150k bloodpoints isn't a lot, yet every chapter I use my saved shards to pump into the shrine in an effort to level the new killer/survivors.
In 4 years I have probably spent the equilivant of 30+ full cosmetic sets in just the shrine (as the first 6 months of the game I spent getting all perks unlocked, and do the same for each chapter.
I was wondering how people felt about this, do you think the shrine is good value, or do you feel a deep shame for spending your shards for 3-4 measly bloodwebs when you could get cosmetics.
I would say that it's not very wise to pump shards into the shrine for BP. Especially since it takes considerably longer to get that many shards in comparison to how long it would take to get 150K BP. The shards would probably be better spent on original characters. Even if you currently have them all now, saving shards still may mean you don't need to spend any money the next time there's a new original chapter. Do what you want though.

I have all the perks, so it doesn’t really affect me, but still......
There are so many perks out there now, and the Shrine doesn’t just pick the from licensed characters, nor is it prevented from repeating a perk a couple weeks later. I feel like the daily switch up is a fair way of helping people who are holding out for that one certain perk. Even with daily changes, it could still be quite a wait.
Now I understand that people may not have enough shards when the perk they want is finally available. So, I dunno, maybe make it a 48 hour cycle so they can grind out a few more? Or stick with 24 hours and hope that people learn to always save a minimum balance just in case today’s the day.
Anyway, I’ve said my piece.
They're not gonna do it because I imagine that DLC sales would plummet. After all, why buy a DLC character you don't care about for their perks, when you could wait a little while and eventually get the perk(s) you want in the shrine? It would be a great change for the health of the game but lord knows that the Devs don't give a damn about the health of the game.

This is the truth, even for killers that benefit from coup de grace a lot more than all the others like huntress, deathslinger, demo, Pyramid, blight, trickster, nemesis, and maybe leatherface and billy and twins.
Unless you have corrupt or you want to defend totems, if all 4 survivors wait at the beginning the match doesn't start until someone if found, that's it, and you can guess where they'll go, also you already know which gens you wanna defend first no matter what
If your fear is that they're gonna wait for you to pass a gen and then start working on it, 4 stacks of coup de grace before the 5th gen is completed are so much better still, mathematically, because you can win so many loops where pallets have been thrown so easily, and they'll be forced to pre drop pallets, so you'll zone them out quicker or down before.
I don't see how either of these perks are even remotely comparable but sure, I guess I would agree that coup is better then lethal pursuer.

This is an amazing game and it may not be perfect but it's made by a great gaming company that cares about it's fans. This game is filled with a diverse community and it is amazing. The only issue I see is the attitudes of many players, myself included that needs to get better. From now on I am going to do my pest to be positive!
I disagree on almost every front. DBD is a game that is fundamentally flawed, and has been elevated to the level of popularity that it has now due to it's highly addictive gameplay (For me at least, it has been addictive in a bad way, this game has genuinely worsened my mental health at times). Behaviour have repeatedly done things that spit in the face of the community (This 5th anniversary event is a great example of that). Behaviour care about how much money they can get out of us. It would be a bit naïve to assume that Behaviour genuinely care about us as a community. We are their cash cow, not their friends. They pretend to care about us because it's a good PR stunt, but I think their actions speak louder then words. The game is riddled with bugs, the game is unplayable for some console players and the Devs still have yet to actually deliver on their promise of console optimization. I could go on but frankly, it'd be a waste of time. I genuinely do commend you for trying to stay positive but I cannot agree that the game is in an even remotely acceptable spot right now.

This thread and many others prove what is already known: New Freddy is boring, uninteresting and unhealthy for the game.
He must get his old power back, preferably the on-release version.
It is the right thing to do. For the sake of Old Freddy mains, for the sake of the game, and for the entire community in general.
Take notes, devs! It is not too late.
Wasn't old Freddy kind of boring too? I didn't get to play against him very much and when I did, I enjoyed it purely because nine times out of ten, facing Freddy meant an easy win. Keep in mind that I was new at the time so the 'excitement' of escaping instantly made said match 'fun' for me, even if the match in question wasn't particularly engaging. As such, I can't actually comment on whether old Freddy was engaging to face or what. Nonetheless, after evaluating his old kit, I don't quite understand why many people are adamant to see old Freddy return. Please do correct me if I'm wrong but if I remember correctly, Old Freddy's whole thing was that he had wall hacks on asleep Survivors and ridiculously high slowdown (-50% according to the wiki) on asleep Survivors, with the caveat that he had to manually put them to sleep.
Once he was actually in chase, he was just a basic Killer though right? I honestly don't understand how old Freddy was any better from a 'fun' standpoint. Both old and new Freddy are basic killers once in chase (Newer Freddy does have snares but their usefulness was lessened thanks to the recent nerf).
To be honest, having to go out of my way to find someone else to wake up or alternatively, fail a skill check, sounds very annoying to me. Especially since it would've been imperative to escape the dream to avoid the immense penalty to action speed while asleep. If old Freddy was brought back today, with people now understanding the game more as well as old Freddy's potential, I could genuinely see him being considered as 'unfun' or 'boring' to face. He mightn't necessarily win, but he could potentially slow games to a crawl if the Killer is good. I don't like new Freddy, but I don't really see how old Freddy would be any better from a 'fun' perspective. Whenever I see people ask for Old Freddy back, it often seems to stem predominantly from nostalgia. Nonetheless, I'd be happy to be proven wrong if you have the time. I know from my times on the forums that you're a Freddy connoisseur so perhaps you could help me understand?
-
No need to make that part of iron will. The Survivors being silent on the ground bug is still in the game! Seriously Devs, it's been over 2 years. Please, for the love of all that is good in the world, please fix it.
-
Kinda depends tbh. If used by a swf then it might be in the top tier category. It'd definitely be in the very good category at least. If your swf is at least semi decent then getting to the end game isn't super hard unless the Killer is really good. However in solo que, there is no guarantee that anyone on the team would even see the endgame, let alone them being coordinated enough to pull off good adrenaline plays. If we consider the unpredictability of solo que then I'd say that Adrenaline is much worse in solo que (probably mediocre/situational).

@TheClownIsKing What do you think about the no way out buff? I'm enjoying the perk on live but I'm not really gonna bother with the PTB as I need the BP, lol. Kindred and bond is basically the same info swf get for free. I dont see it being that big of a buff. It would allow the devs to make changes to killer to balance against it and in turn balance killlers against swf.
They get that info if they're actively communicating about what's going on in the match. This isn't always going to happen, especially if it's just a casual swf. This would be a buff to swf as well. Keep in mind as well that Kindred can really hurt certain Killers. For example, if Trapper sets a trap within 16m of a hooked Survivor then the team will know about it. Overall, I think giving solos the ability to see each other is great, but if kindred is made base kit then I personally think that the aura reading on the Killer has to go.
What about DS though? You can't just give DS for every Survivor without some buff to Killers.

@aroell said:
Yes, noticed that many people here on the forums who camp/tunnel also think the game is survivor sided, gen speeds are too fast and killers are too weak. Which is a lot of strong words coming from someone that does the bare minimum
Could you verify that? Maybe a poll or something that shows campers/tunnellers think the game is Survivor sided? Anyway, Gen speeds are mostly fine in my opinion and the game is only Survivor sided at the highest levels of play (So it's mostly a non issue as comp is a joke in this game).
However, Survivors sometimes spawn in ways that make it essentially impossible to do anything as Killer. What is the Killer supposed to do if all 4 Survivors spawn on 4 separate gens? Even if the Killer downs one person quickly, 3 gens are still going to pop early if the Killer lacks mobility. Against a Survivor team with even a hint of competency, that's gg for the Killer. All the Killer can hope to do at that point is snowball (Which is quite difficult if the Survivors are splitting up), tunnel/camp or rely on their endgame perk(s) if they happen to have any. Gen speeds are fine for the most part but spawns can make gens pop very fast at times. Perhaps there could be a change where Survivors always all spawn together? This way, they have to make the decision to complete the first gen quickly, or take time to split up so that they're more efficient. I dunno.

DS, Kindred, and Bond should be base kit for survivors. It would level the playing field for soloq and allow killers to finally get some qol changes against swf.
The aura reading of BBQ should be base kit for killers sort of like a set of training wheels for new killers so they learn how to leave the hook.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
Kindred and bond maybe (Even then, that's giving a lot). However, DS most definitely cannot be made base kit without some accompanying buff to Killers. Base kit BBQ really would not be enough to compensate considering how, no matter how unpleasant it might be, tunnelling is sometimes a necessary evil.
-
The issue with solo is mainly a symptom of a larger issue, matchmaking and the awful ranking system. According to the game, it's totally fine to match a really good Nurse at rank 1 against a bunch of casual solos who just so happen to be at rank 1 (it is ridiculously easy to rank up if you play a lot). That's an extreme example of course but I think it should get the point across. If people were actually accurately paired up with and against players of relatively equal skill then solo would be significantly more enjoyable. Swf will always be stronger then solo of course but the gap would narrow a lot I feel if people had the peace of mind to know that their teammates will, at the very least, be semi competent. For me, that's the biggest benefit of swf, knowing that your team aren't going to be just a bunch of chimps with controllers. Hopefully MMR solves the matchmaking issue but I'm not super confident that it will.

Too weak? Too strong? Perfect?
I personally think it’s a bit too weak since it doesn’t really stop the killer from just chasing you again. If we gave it the self preservation effect for 8 to 10 seconds I feel the perk would be perfect
I’d love to hear all your thoughts on the perk!
Personally, I wish they had simply made the current DS a base kit feature for Survivors and then buffed killers in some way to compensate. Hard tunnelling at 5 gens is stupid but sometimes, tunnelling someone out when there's 2 or 1 gen(s) left makes sense. You can't just nerf tunnelling so severely without some buff to Killer. Not sure what this theoretical Killer buff would've been though. Doesn't matter now I guess. DS likely is in an acceptable spot so the Devs are probably too scared to touch it again.

How many god-level SWF's did you actually go against?. SWF is pretty common at red ranks, yes. But most of the SWF's are chill and they are not really good. I dont understand why you take this game and SWF too seriously. If you lose, just give a cheers to your opponent and move on. I think you exaggerate the power of SWF. As i said you dont go against a good SWF too often. You cant win every match, accept it.
As for the keys, i dont think key escapes happen often. And i know even though you complain about the keys you bring it at least once. If you hate keys SO much just bring franklins, its not that hard.
The things you should complain about are Spirit, Nurse, Ruin + Undying, Wraith and OP Myers addons. Killer is the power role in this game if you know how to play it.
Dear killers, if you expect to win every match, just play with bots with the new update.
Yeah man, I love to die on second hook because the Meg wanted her key escape :) Totally a well designed mechanic that gives deserved escapes.
-
Would be cool. Isn't gonna happen though. The Devs aren't going to spend money making a new game mode when they can just milk the exact same gameplay loop over and over again while devoting just the bare minimum to keep the game alive. The Devs don't care about us, we're just their cash cow, lol.
-
Based on who I like to play as? Neither tbh, although if I HAD to choose then probably Deathslinger. If we're talking about who I like to verse? Neither again. I don't really enjoy facing either of them.
Huntress has hitboxes the size of a planet so even terrible Huntresses can dominate. The Devs apparently didn't even bother to fix her hitboxes when they did her add-on pass so great job Devs. Being negligent of major issues as usual :) I hate Deathslinger because his ability to instantly shoot after ADS'ing gives no time to react so it's not super engaging to face him.
-
When the old animations were initially gotten rid of, I wasn't too pleased. However, the Devs made the newer animations more smooth and now, they've kind of grown on me. In fact, I honestly think the old animations were kinda bad. I've looked back at some old gameplay and the old injured animations in particular looked kind of ridiculous. I wouldn't be opposed to making the new animations a little more smooth but in my opinion, none of the old animations should return.
-
It's decent. It can sometimes really come in clutch and make ruin or devour last way, way longer. However, there's also going to be games where both totems get cleansed very early into the match. In which case, they weren't much help, lol. I guess it's up to you to decide if the risk is worth the potential reward of keeping your totems alive much longer.
-
Nurse is definitely ridiculously strong, to the point of maybe requiring a rework? Calling her braindead is a stretch though, lol.
-
I got Trickster. Not for the Killer of course, Trickster sucks. I got him because he has some fun perks and I don't want to wait 20 years just to see no way out in the shrine.

I think this is definitely something the art department should think about, considering we are playing different characters. ✌️ Pretty please ♥️
What do you Chris players think?
It definitely would make the legendary cosmetics more worthwhile. Right now, it's kind of a hard sell as you're basically paying 15 quid for a character who has no alternative cosmetics.

I'm personally gonna hold off on playing the game for a few hours, maybe a day. Just in case the bad rng on cakes is a bug (It's probably intentional but whatever).

First off I didn't reach Lv50 because of an error you'll see below. So I only ended up reaching Lv47 (Did reach 49 but error set me back twice).
So in terms of event items/offerings I got:
- 11 Flashlights
- 12 Med-kits
- 7 Toolboxes
- 15 Cakes
First off drop rate seems MASSIVELY LESS than last year. I had a lot of empty bloodwebs (even some of the later ones) which is extremely disappointing.
Btw I also got 6 save game errors in that time.. which lost me about 100,000+ bloodpoints because it took my bloodpoints but reset my bloodweb.
So EnJoY ThE eVeNt!
Good ol' Behaviour. Apparently, they're just incapable of making a functional event these days. Wouldn't surprise me either if the low drop rates are intentional. Oh well, Behaviour are the kings of killing hype by releasing stuff in a broken state. Most of the event is just a copy and paste except, the background didn't even change, lol. What a joke of an event.

I just feel slugging is the most BM, when I do it. :P
For me, slugging honestly only feels like BM if you go out of your way to slug from moment one with knockout, third seal, the whole shabang. I would much prefer being slugged for the most part, but I really hate being slugged to the point of bleeding out, lol.

Though on some of the new maps it's starting to go away for more of surreal look and it kinda bums me out. Am I the only one?
I did notice it in the past and I am a little disappointed that it's going away. I don't mind hugely though. Even with the graphic updates, the game is still kinda ugly. I mainly just care about the actual gameplay I guess.

@Aven_Fallen said:
I am against the removal of Perk Tiers. Simple reason - new players would have no Content.
If we look at Survivors and Killers:
Survivors have 14 general Perks.
Killers have 12 general Perks.
So before a player has his 4th Perk Slot on either side, they run out of Perks to get in the Bloodweb. And this is really boring, Perks are the most interesting thing to get, especially as a new player - and you have them all at Level 14/12. Yay.
What I would do (100%):
- Let more Perks appear in the Bloodweb: Level 1-9-->1 Perk, Level 10-24-->1 out of 2 Perks (guaranteed!), Level 25-39-->2 out of 3 Perks, Level 40-49--> 2 out of 4 Perks, Level 50+ --> 3 out of 6 Perks.
- Teachables unlock automatically and dont need to be collected in the Bloodweb--> So if you reach Level 30/35/40, you unlock one of the Teachables, same like you would do with the Perk Slots without the need of doing a Bloodweb for them.
Other things that can be considered:
When players prestige, they keep their already acquired Perks at least at Tier 1. This means that someone who prestiges will already start with a somewhat decent Perk Build and they have some Perks less to get. And, given the fact that we have Prestige Rewards at some point in the future, it would help players decide if they want to prestige or not, if they did not before - they would at least have all of their Perks at Tier 1, which might be an option. And this would mean that they have some Perk Builds already (or an easier grind since they have BBQ and WGLF available from the start).
Slight side tangent but I'm genuinely curious. When did the Devs say we'd get prestige rewards? I know that rank rewards are on the horizon (as seemingly small as they may be) but I haven't heard about prestige awards.

It should hide aura, otherwise I think the perk is perfect.
I feel like that could easily be exploited though. A survivor who is comfortable with being injured could pair self care and bite the bullet to negate many aura reading effects. For example, they could stay injured and when they see that someone is about to be hooked, start self caring for the 4 seconds then go back on their gen. Although, maybe it'd be fine as they are using 2 perks to achieve this. Don't really know how I'd feel about it to be honest.

Might be how you’re playing honestly. Nobody wants to play in a kill simulator where killer is only one having fun.
Not necessarily. A Yui in a match I just played in DC'd because she decided that jumping into a locker in my face was a fantastic idea. She obviously got grabbed and then instantly DC'd. FYI, I wasn't playing Spirit or Twins and the match had literally just started so it's not like they DC'd because I was being unpleasant. They just made a profoundly stupid play and then DC'd for no real reason. So yeah, people are kinda just abusing the lack of a penalty (Which is exactly why the DC penalty was introduced in the first place).

I saw someone asked them how do they flick, and they even dare to answer that they set the dpi to maximum to get the exploit, shamelessly. Winning with cheating is shameless, and doesn't make you any kind of a good player. This is the same thing as stretched resolution, abusing a computer system to give you a bigger advantage, cheating doesn't make you a good player, so stop.
Didn't the Devs literally make flicks possible on controller a few patches ago? I don't know why you're acting like flicking is exclusive to PC.

I could see this being a tier 3 ability. Like you've hit tier 3 and now even if the survivor uses the vaccine they'll still get hit. Would make him a bit better toward mid to end game.
Was just about to type something like that, lol. Maybe make it so infecting doesn't count as a health sate if it doesn't injure (This means they wouldn't get the speed boost and lose collision if they aren't actually injured) and then he'd honestly be amazing.

I definitely would argue that flashlights aren't very good. Don't get me wrong, if you manage to plunder one from a chest then they're great as the Killer mightn't expect it. If I see there's a flashlight or two in the lobby though, then I can just wait a few seconds and check around me after a down. Nine times out of ten, the Survivor with the flashlight is chilling around a corner so I can hit them and immediately gain tons of pressure. They're incredible against more nooby Killers though, I will give you that.
