If they’re running around in my face, spamming vaults, they’re not rushing.

And some didn’t get out. If they were close when the last gen popped, they were downed.

This. I've done this myself as Clown, either when I want to depip, or I'm bored. I fondly remember one match, where a Dweet finally comes down into the basement (I guard the box), and spend a gens worth of time blinding me and teabagging. He died first. It was beautiful.

  • @ShinobiWolf Bud, I made this thread over a year ago. Don't you go and use your necro powers, now.

  • Of those four? Forever Freddy. The other three will just kill you.

Yeah we arent talking about doing gens I'm talking about chases I am going to ignore your argument if you cant hold a long chase yourself and claim that, that is easy. I'm quite sure your skill as survivor lacks.

Yes you can have an opinion but it doesnt make it any less wrong. Some "opinions" are ridiculous.

My point about the gens was that it was the gens themselves which makes survivor easier, not the chases. Those who say the chases are easier either have godly skills, or poor matchups. So, I do see your point, but not that you should ignore it. Instead, counter it.

Maybe add examples to your original post, so we have something to go on. A general statement doesn't leave much room to move about with.

  • Why are all your arguments so black and white? 'If you claim this, but can't do it, or do it well, then you have no argument.' There are lots of things in life that you can have some outside knowledge on, even though you don't have the skill personally.

Survivor isn't considered easier due to a 1v1 chase, it's considered easier because your goal is to hold M1 on a gen. That's your only objective, unlike Killer, who needs to juggle four players at once. If you're in a chase, you have three others holding that M1 button.

That's not to say that unskilled opinions shouldn't be taken with a grain of salt. Skill and experience plays a huge part in an argument, no doubt. But to just write off opinions and ideas on a matter, comply because they aren't 'as good,' doesn't really keep a discussion open.

  • Slugging is fine. Slugging for the sake of slugging, is boring. I dislike when the killer slugs me, then wanders off for whatever reason, coming back to check on me, then moving off again. I get particularly salty when it causes me to bleed out. I know part of the blame lies on the potatoes I'm matched with, but still. It's boring.

  • @Tactless_Ninja said:

You want to no-clip through people then?

I find the collision helpful when feeling out where a slippery survivor went.

I wouldn't say no clip. However, I would be in favor of the killer being able to shove, or push, somebody aside. Maybe if the killer rides the body blockers ass for two seconds, they just reach out and push/pull the body blocker behind them.

  • The irony that they gave a perk that requires activation by an M1 attack, to a killer with an insta down power. . .

  • That doesn't seem healthy. Have you contacted your local physician to get that checked?

  • I'm all for removing tiers.

Additionally, maybe allow you to 'trade in' items you have collected for a perk.

Why, exactly, does him using NoED invalidate his points?

That was sarcasm. Hence, the /kappa.

  • Back when the Sprint Burst exploit was a thing, it was asked why it took almost two months to fix it. One of the devs mentioned it's due to how the build these updates. Beyond a certain point, they can't go back into the live build and fix something, otherwise the next build would need to be redone. I don't know if that's still true, but whomever thought of building a game like that, where you can't freely go in and fix your code, was pretty short sighted.

  • High rank survivors that use multiple second chance perks show they have no skill in a chase.

    See how it works?

Personally, I know survivors don't do bones. So, why not bring NOED? I love it on Plague. If they manage to get all five gens, then they're going to cleanse. NOED says hi.

  • Backtracking.

Dropping pallet early instead of trying to play around it.

Certain builds (Dance With Me/Quick & Quiet is fantastic against her, I've found)

There are certain tiles she's weaker at than others, such as Twalls

NOT crawling back over a pallet she's just standing at.

Like most killers, it comes down to personal skill. I've had matches where they only used her power to chase, not to mindgame. Easy to counter. I've had others where she just stomped me into the floor with Stridor. Yet still, like all killers, she can be countered. It's simply with Stridor that makes things incredibly difficult.

Personally, I LIKE going against Spirit, minus Stridor, because it's a nice break from the normal looping. That's stale.

  • Shouldn't you change your title to 'Stridor Spirit?'

You CAN counter Spirit. It just becomes much trickier when she's using Stridor.

  • Plague. Man, does she give me a heart attack when they are a well coordinated team, but I still enjoy her the most.

  • If you pull me off hook, and the killer isn't in a chase, I'm going to fight you every step of the way that you try to heal me. Let me get somewhere safer before you rub my booty, not right under the hook.

At the same time, if that gen is 80% complete, do the gen first, please. Stop trying to give me a rub down until that's completed.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I don’t understand. What are “premades”?

In Smite, and I suppose any MOBAs, premades are the SWF of the group. Just means a group came together before hand and have comms.

  • They can? I don't. If I find you in a locker, it's either A) Process of elimination or B) blood pool.Unless I run Plague, I don't think I've ever heard somebody in a locker. . .

  • Beef has so many different ways you can cook it, yet meatballs are about the only thing I can make with it. Meatloaf, if I'm feeling risky. Pretty much the height of my cooking skill, for the moment.

Does that mean beef can't be prepared in any other fashion but how I prepare it?

The same principle applies here. A killer or perk combo will have counterplay, but your personal skill may not match that you're facing. I have good luck countering Nurse players, but a Trapper will see me dead in minutes, as I haven't made it a habit to look at the ground all that much.

It just comes down to skill vs skill. Starting out last year, I thought Old Freddy was disgustingly OP. It took awhile for me to figure out effect means of countering him, to the point where I won 7 out of 10 times. Again, just boils down to learning how to face what you aren't good at. Atm, Trapper is the bane of my existence. Doesn't mean he has no counterplay.

  • I prefer Lithe due to timing. If the killer is near and after me, not only can I gain distance due to Lithe and a vault, but the killer will need to waste an extra few seconds going around the Twall or jungle gym I bolted through. Granted, not always the case, but it's more helpful than SB. In my opinion.

What name did I call you? Dense? Of course someone who forgets the name of the thread they're writing on is dense. The thread is called "things we hate", so I naturally assumed that you hated the thing you wrote on the thread. I call this hate blind because there is no logical reason to hate the thing, and I like to try to quell any illogical hate I come across. The only thing light hearted about hating things is the understanding of the impact of hate that people in this community seem to have. Sorry if you didn't like being called dense, but I can't find another word that describes your thought process right now. Feel free to correct me if I have been mistaken during any point of this conversation, I wouldn't want to start a "debate" on this "light hearted" thread. :)

Amazing how you're still continuing this. What, can't accept that somebody else has a different opinion than you? Or are you intentionally trying to bait. Either way, you have your view, I have mine, and I'm not inclined to share more from someone who seems to take glee in garnering 'recognition for their efforts' by being obtuse.

    ---

Now, on to another thing that frustrates me..

Devs slow speed when it comes to fixhing bugs. Or their inability to keep them fixed. The sound bug has been around forever, and this hill bug is getting real old, real fast.

What's not dense about completely ignoring facts and blindly hating people? Genuinely curious about this.

Why are you trying to turn this into a debate?

Where did you get 'blindly hating people?' Can I not dislike an action or implementation of a gaming mechanic, without 'blindly hating' the person? They can't be exclusive? Rather insulting to place a blanket statement, I would think.

Where in my comment did I come off as 'completely ignoring facts?' I made a statement, eighteen words only, and you went digging for gold. I understand the idea behind SWF. That doesn't mean I have to like it. Am I obligated to like everything set before me, just because I 'know the facts' behind it? Of course not.

Now, can we get back to the more light hearted idea behind this thread, or do you want to continue name slinging.

But not all swf bring sweat builds...that's why there are so many rebuttals to people who complain about swf as a whole. Kind of dense of you to not realize this simple fact by now.

Ironic how you make a post about imaginary rules, then call me dense for stating my opinion in a thread about things we personally hate. High horse, much?

  • 'But we just wanna play with our friends' responses to SWF complaints, even when they bring sweat builds.

  • Spam threads that Spinechill has no counterplay. /s

I don't play GF, but I do play Pig, so similar experiences. If you suspect somebody has Spinechill, don't look directly at the gen. I tend to wave back and forth to keep my bearings, but never for more than a split second. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/185678/no-counter-play-lol

There is no chase counterplay against, spirit,ph, and slinger. It's all guesses. I cant wrap my head around how people think they do.

So your own experience goes. Considering many of us on the forums, the teams I sometimes run with, as well as against, have mixed results, seems par the course that we win some, lose some. Claiming 'no counterplay!' when there's obvious counterplay, doesn't do anything.

  • Why would you abandon them? Common courtesy should exist. If everybody could just share that belief, we'd be in a much better place.

  • I've love to see the Rebel scum teabagging at the exit gate, just for me to Force Choke them from across the map.

I didn't see the wraith threads, I thought he was classified as a fun killer?

Spirit doesn't follow this pattern, she's been complained about consistently forever now lmao.

Wraith popped up when Tru3 did a series of vids about how he's 'underrated.' It was similar to when he did his Ghostface series, and people claimed it was 'oppressive.'

How is he hillbilly? He doesn't have a 1 shot down. He's got better maneuverability. He has a completely different speed. He also doesn't have an overheat. Maybe a comparison to Legion would have been better but even then it still boils down to they both run.

That's why i said extra steps. He's got Billys speed, but lacks the potential. Slapped on with Legion's stun. He only has 'better maneuverability' if there's a surface nearby, and that still doesn't help at loops. At least Billy can still rev for a moment and mindgame/curve at loops. Legion outdoes Blight in turning ability, and still applies a status effect.

He's a mediocre killer who can only shine on large maps in open spaces. No need to play him when there are better options if you're looking to run around.

  • It's just how things are done. Survivors will launch a flood of threads that say the same thing for two weeks, then it'll die down, only to start up again when somebody posts something else. Happens with a lot of killers deemed 'unfun.' Wraith, Plague, Freddy, Billy, Doc, Spirit have had their moments. Now we're on the Deathslinger hype train.

  • @Veeramid said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1562421#Comment_1562421

What makes him fun is bouncing around and his uniqueness. The killers i listed also are unfun because they remove a survivors ability to loop and turns the game into a guessing game which isn't fun.

He isn't unique, though. He's just Hillbilly with extra steps.

  • The killers you listed are unfun because. . . what, they break the stale looping structure? The new killer can be looped for years, seeing as his power can't be used at loops. That makes him fun?

Point made like I said to hunter one example of this is @Rivyn he claims slinger has counterplay yet declined my offer to play custom and show me.

Are you trying to call me out here?

I already pointed out your premise is flawed. Either I'm better than you, and dodge everything, or you're better than I, and land every shot. Neither outcome will prove either point. You need a lot more than '1v1' to prove anything.

Nor the fact that you continue to bring this down to a 1v1 situation. This is a 1v4 game. I honestly don't understand why this isn't clicking. The survivor is not SUPPOSED to win a 1v1 situation. If the killer is intent, he should always catch up and down the survivor. Excluding the far ends of the skill cap matchmaking gives, of course. All the survivor can do is waste as much time as possible for the TEAM to do their job on gens. If you waste thirty seconds or two minutes, you're doing something.

I never said, nor claimed, I'm fantastic countering Slinger. There are still matches where they land most, if not all their shots on me. Some even make me jump. But that's fine. They thought ahead of me, baited the dodging, and outplayed me. Again, that's fine. I can honestly say I'd rather face a skilled Deathslinger than a skilled Nurse. Does that mean Nurse has no counterplay? Of course not. It just comes down to thinking differently. Wiggle between trees, duck behind a wall, double back if need be. Run Spine Chill if you want to know his aim, or Dance With Me to lose him over a drop. Lot of options. I have most success with Q&Q and Lithe.

and the hachets are limited by hitboxes and hefty ready, cancel and reload times. thats not an excuse.

death slinger can 2 hit people faster than anyone else in the game he has stealth on top of this

Hatchet hitboxes are the size of planets compared to the needle you need to hit with the spear.

Nor was it an excuse. Huntress has more damage potential than Deathsliner. No need to reeling in and deep wounds. Her hatchets can curve over obstacles, Deathslinger can't. She can hit from twice, if not more, Deathslingers distance. She's a bigger threat, when used right.

Deathslinger can only 'two hit people faster than anyone else' if they run in a straight line. Unlike Huntress, he cannot down unless he's able to pull them into melee distance.

Maybe I just have more luck against him, because I use Lithe over the usual Dead Hard, but I don't have much trouble facing him. Plus, Spine Chill works great, even if he only has a 16 meter TR.

  • It's not an instant hatchet. Unlike hatchets, the spear is limited by range. Huntress can hit you across the map under the right circumstances, Deathslinger cannot. He has no map pressure. Stealth is is only redeeming factor here.

  • Depends on the killer. I like it on Pig, because I can match it with M&A and know when I should crouch.

  • I've had two in mind.

The first would use the crows on the map in some fashion. Maybe be able to 'fly' to a group, or use them to harass nearby survivors to slow them down.

The second would use lockers. Be pretty trippy to have the killer walk out of the locker behind you when doing a gen. Taking it a step further, he'd be able to lock survivors in a locker for a time. Either by stuffing them in, or if they try and hide in one.

  • As said, hackers find a way to impose the penalty on streamers. They think it's funny.

  • If he's close enough to bluff his shots, then he's too close as it is, and you're going to get hit.

He has counterplay. He may have more control in a 1v1 than other killers, but cover can really, really hinder him. I don't know why survivors know to duck against Huntress, but don't against Deathslinger.

  • I've only used it once on Plague, against two flashlights. It really was a great feeling when they kept trying to blind me. They mocked me at the end for using it, but those two died.

  • 'Meme builds' and 'with my friends' makes me think bully swf. . .

Spirit, legion, nurse, billy, oni 50% of the time, freddy when his power is active, any 115% killer, any killer if they also have thrill of the hunt.

Then you learn to time it for when they're in a chase with another survivor, or occupied on the other end of the map. Why is this a struggle? Now, survivors may actually NEED a reason to 'do bones.' Secondary objective is more important now, if the perk is in play. Go hold M1 on bones instead of a gen.

Don't you want more variations in killer builds, instead of the usual slugging/gen pressure builds we have now?

"Just cleanse totems" when every totem, even dulls, reveals you to the killer.

OP is right, the only counterplay to that perk is being on comms to get on 2 totems at once.

Riiiight. . . because most killers can cross a map in the 15 seconds it takes to cleanse a totem.

  • It's incredibly annoying on maps like Lerrys, where crows are on every possible surface.

BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM! every freaking second.

  • Depends on the time of day, for me. Here in Cali, noon has slow queue times as killer, but past seven, near instant. It's survivor matches I can't get into, no matter the time of day. Ten minute waiting times is the norm.

Because as much as I hate teammates for doing that, the killer has a choice. If their choice is to go for the unhooked rather than the unhooker, they kinda deserve it.

Why is it the person on the hooks fault for the teammate who runs the killer to hook, unhooks without BT, nor body blocks?

Your team has a choice as well. The killers job is to KILL. If the killer can capitalize on a bad team, why shouldn't they? If the team mate pulls you off in front of the killer, then beelines to a pallet, while the unhooked is left in the open, why shouldn't the killer go for the easier target? The unhooked isn't entitled to a free escape if the team won't take steps to aid in it.

It's not the unhooked at fault for a bad team. I didn't say, nor imply that. They are, however, a casualty of an overly altruistic team.

  • Why is it always the killers fault? Why can't you blame your team who leads the killer back to hook, unhooks you right in front of them, without BT, nor body blocks?

1 … 18 19 20 21 22 … 52
