@Chappy04 Maybe the don't have as many perks unlocked, or even available. Maybe they were blitzed last match, and tried to counter it. Maybe it's just how they feel like playing. Could be a lot of things, could be none.
-
Which killers are you referring too?
Additionally, the player may just not be that experienced. The same could be said as to why SWF use five million second chance perks when they, due to comms, don't need it. Comes down to experience.
-
Okay.
-
Why? There are only five totems, which only take 15 seconds to break. Break Undying, you won't have to worry about it.
-
Lemme guess.
You complain about NOED, instead of doing bones.
Have you tried Detectives Hunch? Fantastic perk, especially if you're running Inner Strength.
-
Chapter releases bring in money.
-
Why? Undying doesn't work on itself. Just look for the brightly lit totem that usually spawns in the open, near gens, or on top of survivors.

I said go away because he is killer biased how many times do I have to say he does not view things from a survivor point only killers. It hinders him from viewing things objectively. I rather someone who doesnt look at both sides when discussing balance leave my discussion if you find anything wrong with that I find that weird.
I can respect that you play both sides and try to look at things objectively but that isnt the issue I'm having here.
I never wanted anybody to prove their experience never said it nor implied it I simply asked to show me the cojnterplay in a custom lobby and if you cant you invalidate your argument. Nothing more nothing less.
Funny enough the 1v1 in this 1v4 game is the most interactive part of the game. Its you vs the killer attempting to survive and buy your team time. When you have killer that makes the best part of the game unfun and you barely have a chance to even do anything because of their flawed power it's a turn off.
You fail to see that as like you said you are more killer favored thus you look at things as "well as long as a 4 man team can beat this killer its fair." Doing gens is boring when I cant even have a chase that's meaningful or fun I rather get off the game.
I'm ok with you favoring one side over another it's when you dont look at the other side. You like I said before make me seem like a child throwing a tantrum over losing in a video game when I'm looking for balance.
See, that's the problem. If you push people away who's opinions you don't like, you're left with an echo chamber. So what if somebody favors one side of the other? By that logic, killers that have issue with DS shouldn't listen to survivor sided reasons for it's existence. If that's the case, how do you compromise? How can you 'view things objectively' if you push others of differing opinion away? How can you have a discussion if all that's left are people that parrot what you think?
You imply wanting people to prove their experience when you spam '1v1 me' to anybody saying the killers of your choice 'have no counterplay.' That shouldn't be the case. I may have greater skill than you. Would that make my point more relevant than yours? You might stomp me. Should that validate your point? Or can you just watch the thousands of hours of streams, mix with your own experience, and come to a conclusion? You don't 'need' to 1v1 somebody, especially in a game that isn't made for 1v1.
I agree the chase is the best part. Deathslinge rand PHead are great anti loopers, and deny part of that chase potential. But then, when matches fly in just a few minutes, that's needed. My guess, both killers are answers to long time complains for gen rushing. Part of gen rushing comes from great loopers that can waste an enormous amount of time at a loop. Personally, I thought they were a breath of fresh air. Well, PHead, that is. I still pick Huntress over Deathslinger.
So what if I favor killer more? My view, or anybody that favors a side, shouldn't be taken any less objectively. If I said you appeared survivor sided, should anything you say be thrown out and regarded as moot?
If you want a debate, and that appears to be the case, with you posting on an open forum, you need to have both sides in on it. You're never going to find a purely objective player, because everybody has tastes. That doesn't negate validity to arguments simply because one side enjoys the other more.
-----
Now, have you seen the new killer? He's hot garbage, from my view. His perks, though. . . mmm. Those look tasty.
-
It will be harsh on killers like Plague and Legion, though.

I'm not hating on them for their opinions nor am I hating on them in general. I'm saying they dont look at things from a survivors perspective and only thinks of killers.
It's not me saying fight me it's me trying to get you guys to demonstrate all the counterplay which you claim the aforementioned killers to have.
You make it out as me acting childish and immature. If you cant prove the counterplay dont say they have it. If you cant prove it just say it.
You are also known to have very killer heavy views. Next time read my comments and stop trying to twist and put words in my mouth that I never said to prove your point it takes away your credibility and weakens your argument.
You specifically said 'go away.' That isn't constructive, that isn't furthering conversation or debate, that's simply 'You see things from the other side, I don't like that, *go away*'
Yes, I favor killer more than survivor, it's the more fun of the two from my perspective, but I do play both sides. On a mostly survivor only run at the moment. So I like to think I have a more objective view. I can land shots as Deathslinger and PH, I can also dodge shots from both. I have good and bad games for both sides.
I, nor anybody else, NEEDS to prove to you their experience. That's theirs, mine, and yours alone. Generally, people understand where somebody is coming from. '1v1 me!,' again, comes off as weird in a 4v1 game. As somebody else said, that's CoD area, and other similar shooters/fighters.
Again, I admit I'm killer favored, but I do experience things on a survivor bases. Simply crying that somebody is 'sided' in one area or another should not negate their experience. I have read, and still read, your comments. I disagree with some, wary of others. Where you think I'm 'twisting/putting words in your mouth' isn't clicking in my head.

I never put him down he has heavily killer favored comments like I said. If you truly think they have counterplay add me let's play a kyf I'll be killer and show me.
'You are known for you heavily killer biased comments no one takesnylu seriously go away.'
That is putting somebody down. 'I don't like your opinion, so shut up.' Just becomes somebody favors one side of the other, should not negate their opinion on a forum.
Nor is your constant stream of 'Fight me!' doing any favors. Why you keep trying that is, again, weird.

Don't worry. People make up the dumbest excuses because they don't want comms in the game. Which is ludicrous because the majority of my matches already consist of teams on comms. It's obvious the only way to actually start balancing the game is by adding VOIP, but the community is against it. The same community that says SWF needs balancing, when the obvious answer is staring them right in the face. The dev's won't do it, because they don't want to face hearing exactly how toxic their community truly is.
I have never seen a multiplayer team survival game in the last 10 years not have some form of built in comms. The worst... and I mean THE WORST indie survival game companies have crystal clear voip with easy mute options. It's downright pathetic that a multi-million dollar franchise such as this doesn't have it and will never get it.
Because DbD was not BUILT for voice comms. It didn't even have a grouping system. That was added after, when players complained.
DbD was created on the formula of limited communication. You gather info, and try and apply that to your match, while working with what your team provides. Why do you think SWF is so unbalanced? Because the game isn't meant for free communication.
IF they give comms, an overhaul would be required. Terror radius would be redundant. Many perks would need replacing. Killer powers, such as Trapper, would need serious augments. Even loops would need to be rethought.
I'm not saying I'm against comms being introduced. It sure would make my survivor matches easier. I'm saying that the amount of work needed to rebalance the game would be astronomical. Not impossible, but a lot more than the devs are willing to put in. Maybe if they make a DbD 2. . .
Again, look at how long it took for them to fix god loops, at least the big ones. And certain maps. Years. If they added comms, can you expect any form of expediency in balancing it? When, at minimum, it takes them two months to implement small changes?
I am for OPs suggestion at an emote wheel, however. That would be nice.

Not what I said or implied I mentioned nurse is good designed killer which is a strong killer when played right also huntress which is the same. You are known for you heavily killer biased comments no one takesnylu seriously go away.
Putting others that disagree with you down is a sure fire way to get them to agree with you! Go you!
I disagree with the thought that Deathslinger has no counterplay. You literally break line of sight, or dodge. It's not that hard. Are there players out there that have fantastic aim? Sure, but they're rare. This week alone, I've faced maybe two that landed nearly every shot. It's like Nurse. Takes awhile to get the skill needed, but those that stick with it, deserve it.
As for PH, sure, I wouldn't mind him having another way to rid Torment. Mending, for instance, or putting a time limit on it, wouldn't be too much to ask. But to claim he has no counterplay is just. . . weird. Throw pallets a little earlier, fake the vault, take the bluff. Quite a few options here.
The new killer hasn't even been shown, yet. At the very least, let three minutes of footage drop before jumping on the bandwagon. I don't see threads about more 'swf bully perks' yet, so, show some patience?
-
It took years for devs to address god loops, and those still exist. Can you imagine how long it would take for them to rebalance the entire gave after implementing comms?
-
Two different systems, from what I read. Killer lock was implemented before the MMR change. Not sure why they don't disable it as well, though.
-
When I play survivor, I do hate stealth team mates. You waste so much time crawling around the map when you COULD be doing a gen. When I'm hanging on a hook, only to see you crouching on the other side of the map playing peekaboo with a crow, it ticks me off, especially when I'm using Kindred. When we're on a gen, and you slither off the second you hear the terror radius, without even checking if there is already a chase in progress, it frustrates me.
When I play killer, it doesn't bug me, in the beginning. When a few of you are doing the same thing, and waste twenty minutes of my time without even touching your objective, I report you for holding the game hostage.
-
We haven't seen a Candyman thread in a few months. . .
-
Sure, I'll give you that.
The issue is that nobody remembers the 'good' or 'fun' SWF. They remember the four man sweat squad that made you out to be the fool of their joke. Or the three man who acted like you didn't matter and let you die on first hook. Those stick out, and paint a blanket picture over all SWF.
-
Then what would you give her to make up for it? A killer that can't see nor hear survivors would need something pretty drastic to compensate.
-
You do know she can't see survivors while phasing, right? Now you want to get rid of sound? Seriously?
-
I mean, I was BM'ed for 'tunneling' when the dude off the hook ran right into me. . .
Not sure what your deal with Clown is. He's one of the weakest, if not THE weakest, killers in the game. What ranks are we talking about?

Ahh okey.
Well why should it be unfair if they have good reactions?
EIDT: When they use a programm to do it then of course its not ok.
Devs turn a blind eye to flashlight macros. This would fall under the same heading, I believe.
-
Plague is midtier at best. . . how do you consider her OP?
Freddy is red rank viable, so if you're looking for something to go against the sweaty swf squads, Freddy is it.

Considering my killer que times on PC still suck, I don't think there has been a mass exodus of killers. I run into the same survivors over and over in matches, and wait way too long for matches, which tells me the ratio is still out of whack and there is proportionately more killers than survivors.
Killer is still the best way to grind BP and is waaaaay easier than it was 2 years ago. Heck, even a year ago.
There is lots of biased whining about a perceived survivor bias, but those whiners ignore the significant survivor nerfs over the past 2 years. It's nice not getting DS'd 4 times before your first hook. Or watching the survivor self care on the other side of the pallet because by the third one they are healed.
Yeah, killer is harder than survivor, but not that hard at all. 3I is still the average, possibly closer to 3.5k.
What times do you play? I found that morning/noon (Cali, West Coast), I have longer killer queue times. Past seven, they're near instant. This was before crossplay, so I can't say what they're like now without a few more weeks, but the last few days, my times have been near instant pops. And this is rank 4. My survivor times, though. . . bleh. Ten minutes isn't rare, even at rank 13.

Because it adds no valuable Information to the game. Why does it matter on which platform someone is playing? There are good and bad players on all of them...
It only adds hate because then the "console plebs are bad", "PC killers are the worst..." Starts
Yes it does. That icon shows how often I'll get spun in a match. No icon? I'll be wary. Icon? I don't have to fret.
-
Really? She's on the lower end of the power scale, though.
And everybody wants to boop her snoot.
-
Depends on the SWF. I've had a few that were fun. in that they didn't run full meta builds, sometimes sandbagged each other, had teabagging contests, etc.
I've gone against more that attempted to be sweaty, probably from watching Monto/Noob3 toxic series, and fail. Those, I get annoyed with.
Then the tac squads. Those speak for themselves, and usually paint a broad picture of all SWF. Which is why it's such an issue. They've given me a jaded outlook on 'buh I just wanna play with muh friends!' theme.
-
Survivors DC, or suicide on hook, against killers they don't like, so what's good for the goose should be good for the gander. Doesn't set a good precedence, though.

You really think badham and yamaoka are survivor sided? Some Badham layouts are considered killer sided by many and the new Yamaoka version is definitly also not survivor sided.
I do consider Yamaoka, and it's Sanctum variant, to be survivor sided. Most skins can disappear in those reeds. While gen placement is pretty good, those reeds are everywhere. I despise that Sanctum map.
-
Had some survivor dailies, so ran that. Took ten minutes to get into my matches, and due to rank reset, I'm sitting on rank 13. Goodness. . .
-
Ugh. . . thanks for reminding me of my deep loathing for ruffled lace. 10/10 would tunnel and mori, every time.
-
Iri Head Huntress.
Or bring an Ebony.
But I agree, some of these challenges are just more work than they're worth.
-
I've seen a few, here and there. Usually with the sweaty swf. But the last two days, yeah, lot of keys from console players.
-
Doc. He never interested me, still doesn't, but then I found out how many bloodpoints he could generate viably with BBQ and Distressing. So, when I'm short on BP, I pull him out.

The have an official discord for DBD, you can't put the genie back in the bottle. They just need to embrace that comms are always going to be a thing with the game, implement it from within and balance around it.
I agree. The devs don't. They refuse to do any balancing around SWF. And if they refuse to do that, then how can you expect them to do it by adding comms?
-
You don't need to be a sweat squad to dominate killers. A simple 'Myers heading your way' and 'trap to the left' can throw off any killer. Simply saying 'just friends playing with friends' is not a good enough reason.
The game isn't balanced around comms. Reason why SWF is over the top. If they did allow comms, an overhaul would be required. Not to mention the squeeker on the hook screaming at me to save them when I'm doing last gen. . .
-
At high ranks, yes. There's a reason why they're considered the most viable.
-
It's easier than killer.
-
Had a chuckle at you listing Demo. You can hear him miles away, giving the survivor time to just move to the nearest jungle gym. Real hard. . .
-
Personally, it's the dev team itself. Specifically, how slow they pump out balance passes. We get, maybe, balance changes every two months. And even then, they're pretty small. This last pass fixed a few perks, and even then, two of them didn't even need it, while the third makes little sense.
So, maybe direction? Where the devs see issues and put focus on, vs what actually needs help? I dunno, that would be two issues. But it would help if they lit a fire under their rears and started tweaking things far more often than they do.
With more content being pumped in, the long, LONG list of issues just keeps getting longer. The two month gap just isn't cutting it anymore.
-
I haven't noticed. I use low settings as killer, since it brightens things up a tad and removes some clutter, making maps like Sanctum and Yamaoka playable for me.
-
How do you know they know the perk is in play?
-
Scott made a video about this a few days ago.
Devs have worked themselves into a corner, here, when the system 'balances itself out.' The top of the top are only going to be sweaty SWF/Nurse/Spirit players. So, they'll probably leave, since they can't play the way they want.
At the very least, the devs will have a clear picture just how strong SWF are. At least, the 4man squads. If the 'skill' rating on these buggers doesn't tell them something, nothing will.
-
I love the look of Midwich, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be Suffocation Pit. Love the lighting, and the vibe the map gives off. It's easier to control, both as survivor and killer, than other maps. Fun loops, gens are usually spread out nicely, and gates don't usually appear side by side.
-
Neither did Nurse, but BHVR LOVES to smack cooldowns on things. Have you noticed many of the new perks also have cooldowns?
-
The Shrine is an antiquated design made for a game that only had three dozen perks. It needs a complete overhaul, much like the bloodweb.
-
Because devs don't want to put the time, money, and effort into rebalancing the game with SWF in mind. So, they pretend to ignore it. You notice they never respond, in depth, to SWF posts? They look the other way.
-
@EmpireWinner said:
The term is used when survivors prioritize gens. Gen rushing doesn't exist. Really, it's the only objective for survivors in order to escape
By this logic, tunneling doesn't exist, since it's the killers objective to kill as efficiently as possible.

DH is prey to latency and dedicated servers. If the server says no, then you'll just become exhausted without the lunge.
So, Lithe is the best exhaustion perk. It allows me to move from tile set to tile set, usually with a jungle gym between the killer and I.
