  • Devs can't even implement a colorblind option. Hell, they can't even give basic graphics settings. You think they care about performance?

  • Devs are too busy making skins to fix this age old issue.

  • This is why I never run it. Waste of a perk slot, in my opinion.

  • Remember, you can always go and play Civ

  • Depends on the experience. The less experienced survivors are, killer. Even if the killer is less experienced, it's easier to tunnel somebody out of the match at five gens.

As experience grows, it swings over to survivors. Killers play on the survivor's time, where mistakes become much more punishing, where as survivors have multiple options to bandaid their own mistakes.

Irl seal gives you corrupt without going to a fountain. The description says turns vial into corrupt when a gen is completed

I know what it does. Scroll up a bit and you'll find my response to somebody else in more detail. I want Iri Seal 1) without the gen requirement and 2) simply look at a Corrupt fountain and be able to activate cleanse from a distance.

  • @zoozoom6 Five tries. One per gen. Six with the new base kit pool. If they don't cleanse at all, that's all you get, which is common at red ranks. I understand you don't need a fountain with the addon, I've used Plague for over a year now.

My issue isn't the drawbacks. My issue is the lack of control. When I go for Corrupt, it's because I want to at the time, not when a gen pops, especially if I don't need it at the moment. I dislike the lack of control it gives me. By wrong side of the map, I mean a part where I don't have much impact. No gens, lots of pallets, strong loops, etc. Or it could just boil down to patrolling the wrong side when gens pop. Again, it comes down to control. When I need corrupt, I want it on my terms.

My second paragraph, again, comes down to control. If I could simply take Corrupt, at range, without having to rely on gens popping for the addons, I would be able to maintain that control. Getting Corrupt after a gen pops has too many 'what ifs' about it, which is why I consider it trash. In my book, at least.

I understand the mechanics of her fountains. It's eight fountains, not five. Well, seven, if the first isn't used. Once all five gens pop, and they rush to cleanse, you've lost momentum. Moreso depending on how many survivors are alive. It's one of her weakest moments, usually. Again, if she could simply gain Corrupt with my reworked addon at a distance, then she would be able to maintain an element of control during this stage.

First of all, I don't mean anything here to be disrespectful, so pleas please understand that. I main Trapper, who is one of the slowest killers to get going. He has to spend the early game setting up the map. You don't want to commit to long chases too early or you are done. I understand how fast those first few gens can go.

That said, "gen rush" claims annoy the hell out of me. What are survivors supposed to do? Hide in a locker for the first 45 seconds, the run from th locker to killer shack and back before starting a gen? They have only one objective that counts, do the gens asap. The longer a match goes, the more their chances of survival fade.

Getting upset at survivors hitting gens is as absurd as survivors getting upset at a killer for getting a hook within the first minute. We have one objective, kill the survivors.

My thoughts are that you either ran into a group who completely outclassed your skill level;happens to everyone. You perhaps made too many mistakes early? Did you commit to a long chase early in the game that cost you more time than it was worth? Be willing to break off a chase if it looks like it will take too long. Wound and move on.

Dud you tunnel or spend too much time proxy camping? A lot of killers rank up vs bad survivors in green and purple ranks only to learn that lazy strategy does not cut it so well at the higher ranks. They either whine, or learn to adjust their skills and grow.

Not enough data to know what it was. I'd suggest taking a step back and try to asses any errors you are making and correct them. That is how you get better.

    Good luck.

Gen rushing usually isn't directly the survivors fault. It's game balance, from the killer in play, to the map, gen/loop placement, etc. In this case, however, it was clearly the survivors intentions to get the gens done as fast as possible. No interest in the chase, to actually have a match. They wanted in, pop gens in three minutes, teabag out the door. Just look at the BNPs and perks.

Killer didn't do that badly. Over 20k, so he did put chases and downs in. But when you have a coordinated team that are only in the match to blitz you, only a certain skill cap and killer choice can overcome that.

This encounters the same problem with the “what if survivors don’t cleanse?”

At least with current Iridescent Seal she has a guaranteed 200 seconds of Corrupt Purge (excluding the free fountain somewhere on the map)

The issue I have with the current way the addon works, is that you only get five tries with it. On top of that, the time it's active is cut, and you're slowed. If you aren't in a chase, or on the wrong side of the map, its usefulness is kaput. Furthermore, it stops you from infecting, since it removes the ability to pick and choose when and where you use Corrupt. If they aren't infected, then they won't cleanse.

However, if you swap it to aiming at a fountain and draining it from range, without the hindrance of gens popping, you're in control. You can decide when it'll be the most effective time to use it. Sure, keep the reduced timer and slowdown, but again, you're in control.

And for those matches where they don't cleanse, initially, they will after gens pop. At most, you'll have five fountains to use, if they didn't use any/apples/your usage of them. Her biggest weakness is just that, EGC where they're healthy, and simply need the gates. If she could gain Corrupt without having to crisscross the map, she'd fare better.

    Just my thoughts on it.

  • Plague: Rework Iri Seal so that it allows her to to gain Corrupt at range, instead of walking to the fountain.

  • Out of curiosity, what map were you on?

Had a match last night as Hag on Shelter Woods against adequate loopers. Didn't get my first down until two gens were done, and in two chases, two more gens were at 50%. Thankfully, they were the ultra altruistic types, and focused on saves/heals instead of finishing those gens, so I ended up with the 4k. Still, had they left the first hook hanging and finished gens, it would have been over in about six minutes.

Big maps are tough for 110% killers. Worse for killers that need to prep. I don't think adding time to gens is the answer. It's mind numbing enough just holding M1 on them. The best part of survivor is the chase, but one good chase and two gens pop, so it's always a time crunch. I scratch my head when survivor mains reject the idea of the killer playing on the survivors time table.

An additional objective needs to be introduced to break up the gameplay. Maybe make something more out of the obsession, where they have to complete tasks separate from gen repairing to help progress. I dunno, it's tough, since this is what the game is built around.

It does not reset. It's a hidden number purely used for matchmaking, it's not meant to be something you grind for each month/season. Ranks will continue to reset each month and you'll be able to focus on getting those to rank 1 if you'd like, but they won't be used for matchmaking purposes anymore.

So there's no point in ranks anymore. Why even keep them? It's not like you're rewarded in any way, now.

  • You played Killer. Didn't you know that's toxic?

  • @MadLordJack said:

Nope, just her add-ons. But most of us thought the same about Billy, so get ready for Huntress to have 4 basekit hatchets and a slightly longer reload time.

    Same with Nurse

  • I like the 'ghostly' appearance they have, but they're so dim. I played a round of Trapper last night, was taken to Sanctum, and it was hell trying to find my own traps. Again, I like the idea, but the implementation is lacking.

  • You're not supposed to be able to use voice comms either, but we have them.

  • One would think this would have been an obvious fix. But then, this is BHVR, where obvious isn't in their dictionary.

  • If gen rushing is fine, then so is tunneling.

  • I wouldn't go so far as to say they don't listen, but I will say they pick and choose. It often feels like they play a completely different game than the rest of us do. They claim Billy was 'meeting their expectations,' so they nerf him. They claimed Nurse was getting 'small tweaks,' and 'mostly numbers,' then they bury her. They claim to fix map sizes, yet the only meaningful map shrinkage was Temple of Pergation. Farm maps are still massive, Ormond is still massive, Mother's Dwelling is still massive. Sound bugs are still here. No mention of any kind of balance to SWF, even though it's somehow okay to nerf viable killers.

There has been some good. Doc rework was good. Ruin, while controversial, allowed me to work with new builds, even though I've been blitzed far more often. Tool box and medkit changes were nice. I can't say anything about Bubba's rework, it's too early.

So, some good things, more bad things. Pick and choose. The greatest flaw I have to give the devs is how agonizingly slow updates are. It's too bad they can't light a fire under their asses. I feel the game would be in a much better state if they did frequent balance passes, instead of having to wait months for anything to be done.

You can still change you loadout. Dont cry.

There's a reason why killers are unique. Loudouts are just one part of what makes a killer. Multiple medkits, for instance, can make Clowns life much harder. Or as stated, multiple flashlights against Wraith.

The other issue is if you're playing a killer you haven't invested a lot of BP into. That killer may not have a lot of options when it comes to loudout. So if a sweaty group is spotted, you either suck it up and lose, most likely, or you dodge and try your hand again.

  • I love NOED on my Plague. If they manage to pop gens, then they're obviously going to cleanse. NOED is a fun surprise, because they don't expect it.

  • Seeing that Spirit skin, I'm going to start playing her. Can't wait for the mass DC'ing.

  • Some games more than others, especially if the emotions are flowing.

Sometimes I do it on purpose, if I'm trying to push them in a certain direction, or working for a chill game.

  • 'BBQ is in the minds of every survivor, every game, whether the killer has it or not.'

One obsession in the game, and every killer has to assume all four have DS. I find the comparison amusing.

in BBQ is OP Comment by Rivyn
  • It's a killer perk, duh. Which means devs need it to have a downside because. . . reasons.

Also, people here keep saying it's for Legion. Do you all somehow forget it's best used on Plague, where they CAN'T make use of it's healing?

  • I went back to survivor. Much less stressful.

If you wanna play killer, though, try meme builds. I had some fun with Insidious/NOED on Clown. Guard basement box all match. Five gens pop, go on a killing spree and laugh that they didn't do bones. Unless they did. Then open the door for them and congratulate them on doing bones.

Understandable but he tunneled without stalking he then popped t3 with 2 gens left because as I've stated in previous things matchmaking wasnt good and I wasnt playing with good friends I wanted a laid back game and the map had almost nothing and the others used the little pallets we had

I have to ask. What ranks are we talking about? Myers at T1 is 105% movement speed. If he managed to tunnel without stalking, then he's pretty much a god. He's 115% at T2. To get to T3, it would take a lot of stalking, something made far more difficult on maps like Red Forest.

  • A couple of issues.

    1) It takes a LONG time for Myers to hit T3 with that addon. If he was able to 'tunnel' a survivor to hit T3, then they obviously weren't doing anything to get away. Plus, if he's stalking them, why would you call that tunneling? This is why I believe terms like 'tunneling' and 'camping' have been watered down.

    2) Red Forest maps are massive. You can easily pop off two gens before he reached T3, especially if the 'tunneled' survivor was doing anything other than standing still.

    3) Noed on Infinite Myers is amusing. He obviously thought that he wasn't going to be able to hit T3, so it was redundant in the end. I find that amusing.

Now, I do understand your frustration with a 4k slugging. I've suggested before that we can suicide at a certain percentage to get out of that. However, with only two low tier perks on him, as well as a massive map, the match was in your favor.

  • I can relate. Last night had a match against Trapper. Three gens in just over two minutes. He was setting up half the time, then spotted me on a gen, and I led him through the bus and nearby T wall for maybe 30 seconds.

Ding, Ding, Ding. I felt bad for the guy.

I'll admit they should have played the game normally but I think it is funny they stopped your build. You brought in an infinite tier 3 Myers, fully expecting to win, and they stopped you. Grow a pair and stop whining about a perk, you used your best and whining like a baby because they used something of their own to counter you.

Right. Imbalance map and perk combo, known to have their own issues, but you're using a strong build yourself, so sit down and shut up, right? That's what you're going for? I believe we call that a red herring.

  • Or just give some indication, like glowing body parts on the husk, that she's phasing.

  • The Game is okay for me. So is Lerrys, mostly. Only thing I really dislike about Lerrys is the ambient noise. It gives me trouble when I'm tracking. I utterly despise the Yamoka/Sanctum maps, however. Both for their obnoxious reeds, and Sanctum for being so dark. Haddonfield. . . bleh. It's in a league of it's own.

As for mine, Insidious Bubba is healthy at low ranks, as he teaches players how to handle face camping.

I'd just like something at the end game screen that would show SWF or solo. Before the game would cause too many problems.

This. It honestly shouldn't be difficult to implement this. They already have to go through the ingame system to group up, so it's just adding a final touch to the post game lobby stats about who was what. It does get annoying with that 'I'm solo' when you're obviously a Head on tac squad.

Play Solo and usually play killer.

Looks like we got a "it's not me its everything else" crybaby

Considering all you've done in this thread is be A) condescending, and B) making excuses for poor map/perk balance, can you blame me? Midwich is a horribly designed map that allows toxic SWF to abuse it, especially when running OoO. Pretending that neither of these are an issue is either extreme bias, lack of game knowledge, you've never experienced it yourself, or simply don't care.

  • @Kebek said:

Unrelenting is actually decent perk that has synergy with a few killer powers mainly Deathslinger or Hag. It can definetly use help but certainly not nerfs or large changes to it's base effect.

How does it work with either? I'm thinking of picking up Deathslinger soon, so I want some ideas.

  • @catbeans said:

Instead of admitting you got beat you instead blame the broken mao or the OP oerks or blah blah blah more crying and more excuses

Looks like we found the toxic SWF runner here. . .

  • I dislike how abusable it is.

When a BT survivor will body block for their rescuer, or camp a narrow pathway, forcing me to either hit them, or go around, there's an issue.

When a team can run the perk and simply bum rush hooks for a save, either leading me back to a hooked survivor and simply running around, and getting the save, there's an issue. Especially when it leads to my first point.

When the BT survivor will follow me as I chase somebody else, either to try and hinder me by body blocking, waiting around for a flashlight save/pallet stun, or annoying me enough to make me give the hit, there's an issue.

When BT fails, and they still bum rush due to DS/Unbreakable, there's an issue.

Again, by itself, BT is not OP. It can just be abused to high heaven. Especially during EGC when the killer really has no other choice but to patrol around anybody they've hooked.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1469090#Comment_1469090

imo deathslinger is because of the no reloading at lockers situation as well as deathslinger is more in control at loops where as huntress is guess between a pallet drop and if the survivor runs on. obviously huntress also can shoot over loops but not nearly as good a slinger. slinger at least has the really small hitbox with his spear

Except Deathslinger can't down with his ability, unless you manage to reel them in close enough to M1.

'...not nearly as good as slinger.' Deathslinger can't shoot over loops, though. Vaults and pallets, but not OVER loops. Huntress can nail somebody on a gen half a map away, over T Walls and jungle gyms, if the aim is good. She can hit somebody over a pallet and down them, unlike Deathslinger. If she misses in a chase, she can keep going, where as holding W is enough to get to the next loop against Deathslinger who's reloading. Minus reload addons, of course.

  • Huntress. Her hatchets have far more range to them, can arc, has five shots, and can down survivors.

  • Survivor at low ranks, because killers only need to tunnel somebody out of a match, and/or face camp, at let the survivors throw the match for the save.

Killer at high ranks, because the power role shifts, and you're now on the survivors time clock. If you want to maintain your rank, or even pip, you need to juggle the heck out of the map.

  • @SloppyKnockout Yet Survivor is plagued by incredibly long wait timers. Why is it after a DLC drop, survivor wait times drop drastically? Because the killer sided population increased. Now, a month after SH, I'm back to seven plus minutes in survivor lobbies, and seconds as killer. Survivor holds the larger playerbase. Again, just look at the wait times. Sure, poor matchmaking attributes in part, I won't deny, yet that isn't all of it.

  • @SloppyKnockout It does matter. Survivor has the larger playerbase. Yes, you need both sides, but you cater to the larger side IF it brings in more cash. In this case, it does. The added draw of being able to party up with your friends is just the cherry on top.

  • @SloppyKnockout said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1463032#Comment_1463032

Actually, being that both sides are required to exist for an asymmetrical game to exist, that is untrue.

You need 4x the amount of survivors for every killer. You can party up with your friends on top of that. Survivors are where the money is.

  • @azame said:

If you see a sweaty swf why not challenge yourself and try to beat them with the killer you are using? Is that really hard for you i find alot of killer mains feel entitled to 4ks and any effort is unbalanced.

There's a difference between challenging myself, and being the target of a bully squad. I play to have fun, not to feel like crud by players who are only together to do just that.

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

I think its strange people are upset by this. The only thing thats changing is you have to pick your killer prior to searching for a match. It seems like you can still change perks.

My only recommendation to tge devs is to lock items for survivors while theyre at it, maybe 30 secs before match starts.

Probably because you could pick a killer whose power fits the items brought. If they bring a lot of medkits, I could bring Plague or Legion. If they bring toolboxes, I might bring Trapper or Freddy. Especially if I haven't unlocked a lot of perks for specific killers.

If I go in as Deathslinger, for instance, and see a sweaty SWF, I can't just swap out to my silent Wraith. I have to leave the lobby. The way they want it, it feels like the devs are trying to push the 'casual' aspect they think this game is.

  • @shalo said:

That's my first question too. Amazing that BVHR has made zero mention of it so far.

I mean, I know the devs tend to ignore SWF related posts, but when it comes to a new MMR system, they could at least give some info on it.
