  • Hey, if the devs don't like it, they can just go play Civilizations.

  • Not to mention how broken match making is. So, not only do you need to grind out thousands of shards to buy the correct killer,s you then have to grind them up again to unlock the necessary perks, just to pray for RNG on the killer you need.

The grind is unbelievable for new players, but the devs think it's okay.

  • Hey, survivors deal with killer hits, killers deal with failed grabs. Evens out.

Sorry I'm just laughing to myself thinking of all the posts on this forum from people who thought Nurse got "dumpstered" after her rework. Like these people thought she doesn't need a cooldown, and needs more blinks.

It's not that she was 'dumpstered,' it's that she was made unfun. She's a stun simulator. Is she still the best? Yes. But the required skill to get to her peak is a very long road to walk, and it's fraught with half the match in perpetual stun by either game mechanics, learning curve, and/or her plethora of bugs. Nor do I recall anybody seriously asking for more blinks.

At least she put in a decent showing in the tourny. Maybe it'll convince some people to try her out more. I'm tired of running from DS and GF all the time.

  • I'll admit, if I hook somebody, and watch a recently hooked survivor make a risky save, just to hit me with DS, I'm going to tunnel them out of the game. Bugs me when they play like that.

Almost every 1 in 3 games I run into a cheat killer who can see where everyone is. PC players ruin every game out there cause 90% of em have to cheat. All games should keep PC players on their own servers so they aren't so toxic to the gaming community.

You do realize there are perks that give awareness of survivor locations? Or just common sense. If a gen is being worked on, then survivors are usually in the area. Scratch marks disappear near lockers? Probably in there. A gen popped, and there's only one other in the area? Most likely heading there.

You're going to need to provide some evidence that '1 in 3' players are cheating in some form. Just saying it does nothing.

  • @MadLordJack I wish I could answer the first, but when I went to ask in post game chat, it was flooded with the usual toxic SWF 'ggez baby killer face camper' etc etc, since three escaped. Annoyed me, so I left.

Also I've only noticed this but only when the killer is a blight so how's about you stop playing a bugged killer it doesn't happen with anyone else.

Not just Blight. I couldn't hear Ash two days ago when I was playing Huntress.

Coms doesn't make players better loopers and yet you still think the average swf is going to beat a good killer without sweating. What I'd "the killer is chasing me" gonna do for a team that has 2 current slugs. Not much thats 2 off gens and 1 having to go save. My point here is comes can only go so far.

Also the play with friends argument makes sense because i have interacted with killers on and off the forums who hate on swf and the players who play in it. That's not everyone but it still has validity.

Ah, I never said beat. I said 'turn a match around.' Simply knowing where a killer is and what they're doing is a powerful tool. Just letting your team know what gens to hit and when can go a long way, quickly.

Are there times when it won't be as effective? Sure. Doesn't change the times when it is. And I do agree that they only go so far, but then, that's why second chance perks are so prominent. Make up for mistakes.

Compare two average matches between a group of solos, and a SWF. Usually, the SWF will fare better, simply because of free communications.

If survivors stomp in high ranks shouldn't that be accounted for in balancing? I'm betting survivor survival in high rank games is probably around 70 percent.

The devs don't balance around the top end. They balance around the low end, because in their eyes, they see DbD as 'casual.' Which may hold water, IF you weren't pitting two sides against each other.

  • You realize the 'I just wanna play with my friends' argument is stupid, right? Nobody cares that people want to play with their friends. What is cared about, however, is how powerful comms are. A simple 'killer over here' and 'gen over there almost complete' can turn a match around, no matter how 'meme builds' are being used. You don't NEED to sweat, that's the problem.

I was with you before what they did to billy,

I used to have faith too, but just look at him now.

I had faith with Nurse, since they made it clear it was 'only small tweaks' and 'mostly just numbers.' Was shafted after that, so I always expect the worst now.

  • I noticed that last night. Was playing Huntress, and this Ash was missing half his sound kit. No grunts of pain, only shouted half the time, made no noise on the ground.

  • Snares for the early game, pallets for the late game.

  • Wish I could say. I don't own him yet, 1.5k shards off, and nobody seems to be using him. I've gone against him once, and it wasn't hard to juke. Hoping to spot a few more eventually, to judge myself.

  • NOED and a Mori. Reap the salt at the end of 'baby killer,' and laugh. I do.

  • Name one update that doesn't have a ton of bugs attached to it?

  • @Moundshroud said:

It is his built in disadvantage and advantage at the same time. He is harder to see coming as he can use terrain, but his POV (particularly on some maps like Swamps) sucks. He has to make up for it with speed, which he can do.

Really? I don't have a problem seeing him coming. He's waving that stick around broadcasting his location, after all.

  • A 2, at most. He's boring, from what I've seen. Even his perks don't excite me that much, because I don't trust Hex builds in general. That might change when I play him myself for a bit, but I don't expect much.

  • You don't. If you aren't a stealth killer, and really don't want to deal with it, just stand in a corner and wait for them to do their gens. Alt tab and watch cat videos.

  • I've never been booped before. I needed this.

  • @DBD78 said:

He lost a game this is so sad for him. Perhaps he won once or twice before who knows.

It's not that he lost. It's that the other side was toxic with the taunts, let alone being SWF.

  • I primarily play my bunny Feng. The only toxic bit I see myself doing is looping for fifteen years. Or disappear mid chase with Lithe/Dance With Me/Quick and Quiet.

  • A) If I can tell they're a 4man. Either by profile, or recognize them from previous matchups.

    B) If their item setup counters me hard. For instance, four healthkits against Trapper, or multiple flashlights against Wraith.

    C) If I recognize a toxic player from a previous matchup.

  • I bought Oni's Minotaur skin, because it's great.

  • I dislike is, simply because it increased my long survivor times even more. I hate sweating for my killers, but I also hate waiting almost ten minutes to get into a match with rainbows that hide behind rocks.

  • I would absolutely love a werewolf. Was pretty disappointed we got a junkie this time around.

However, Candyman is being released next month, so it would make sense if he was licenced for the game, to capitalize on the hype. Even though i find him boring, he'd bring in cash.

  • The devs apparently built the game where they can't freely go in and change code. Once they start on the newest build, they can't go into the current build and change something, otherwise they would need to redo the one they're working on. Which means any bugs in the current need to wait however long the newest build takes to finish and publish.

At least, that's how it was explained last year with the sprint burst exploit. That lasted two months. . .

  • When I run my stealth build. Lithe, Q&Q, Dance With Me, Iron Will.

  • Had a match the other day against a Pig. I was intent on doing gens. Previous match, the team three genned, and it really bugged me. So, I was focused on not allowing that. The Pig seemed really focused on the Bill in that match, from what I could see. Tunneled him off hook. In the end, it was a 4k escape, with me body blocking before getting him out the door.

It wasn't until the post game lobby that I saw he was using OoO, and it was a 3 man toxic squad that made me, the fellow survivor, feel disgusted. Felt really bad for that Pig. They didn't say anything, just left, I assume, but that 3 man sure had a lot of things to say. . .

  • Why are you complaining about it? Move on to the next match.

  • If he didn't derank, then he obviously did something.

  • No. Hex builds might become a little more popular, but there's a reason why killer meta perks don't change that often.

  • I feel where you're coming from. Last night, I was third to die, so I was spectating the Claudette. Trapper found her, slugged her, then proceeded to wait four minutes for her to bleed out. It. . . ticked me off, to say the least. Her only crime, that I could gather, was stealth play.

I've always been an advocate to allow a 'suicide' option when your bleed out gets to half, similar to just not struggling on the hook.

  • 20200903224228_1.jpg 20200903224237_1.jpg

    Just had it myself.

  • Because of the 'them vs me' mentality the game fosters. Additionally, it's 4v1, so pack mentality plays a part. If one survivor is toxic, they believe the other three will support them, because they're 'on the same team.'

  • Rank 10 survivor, seems like an even mixup of PC and console.

Rank 2 killer, the majority are consoles.

  • Not all SWF are evil, but most evil stems from SWF.

My point is, much like how that one face camping Bubba sticks with you ten matches later, that one tactical four man that blitzed your match and made you feel like a scrub in the end sticks with ya. You may know that not all killers face camp, or all SWF are out to get ya, but you expect it anyway, due to previous experience.

  • I play two to four matches a night, usually. I don't spend hours and hours a day doing this, so what I earn isn't all that much. To prestige and lose everything, just to have to regrind again for a useless cosmetic? Something I won't ever use? Pointless.

  • Here's an idea. Reverse them. Instead of a map offering increasing chances, let it decrease chances. That way, i could STOP GETTING THE PRESCHOOL

  • 'What makes you entitled for a kill knowing you lost?'

How is that entitled? The match was still going on.

Don't you think it comes off as entitled to think you lot should have escaped just because 'they lost?' Even though the match was still going on. . .

  • You didn't even try and share what 'cheats' you witnessed.

Your opinion is similar to all the others that responded to me.

I'm not saying you or they are wrong, but allow me to say that it's rather unfair the way it is, to be honest.

The game is in favor of the Killer 90% of the time, the remaining 10% being situations like these, pallets, SWF, certain perks, flashlights and among other small things that somehow make the game "not fun" for Killers.

It's funny. Things that Killers do and Survivors hate aren't bannable or punishable, but things that Survivors do that Killers hate will always be bannable or punishable one way or another.

Is that quite fair to you? Then again, I don't think a game like Dead by Daylight will ever be fair to both parties.

It is a 1v4 game after all, in which the game is in favor of the "minority"

There's a difference between 'doing something one side hates' and 'refusing to participate in the match.' Stealth play is viable. Using it just to keep a match going far, far longer than it should, is not.

Holding the game hostage is a separate matter than 'annoying' perks/items/combos.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

"toxic bodyblocking"...Yeah, Bodyblocking is "toxic" now.

    Just wait 15 seconds.

For them to body block a route to your target, or camp a pallet? No. I don't want to tunnel, but bodyblocking with BT is just asking for it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/187276/survivors-taking-game-hostage-to-exploit-hatch

How is that taking the game hostage? It's clearly a strategy for Survivors, just like camping, tunneling and slugging are strategies for Killers.

Taking you two hours to finish a game just means you're bad at Killer, no offense.

The fact that people upvoted this load of bs amazes me.

If one side refuses to progress the match, that is taking the game hostage. It's the same as if a killer blocked a survivor in a corner and refused to let them play. It's a bannable offense, as stated in the rules.

'Camping and tunneling' ENDS the match one way or another. The survivor dies, they move on. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you meant 4k slugging, forcing all four to bleed out. Dick move, yes, but the survivor still dies in the end, and can move on.

It is not difficult to hide from the killer, if that is the intention. Especially on maps with lower visibility, such as corn maps, or Yamoaka.

I'm all for the killer being allowed to trigger EGC after a certain amount of time has passed, just so this situation doesn't happen. And it does happen.

  • Time, effort, and skill went into making them.

Granted, I feel like the 'Legendary' skins are too expensive for a game such as this, but still.

Oh that's weird. Usually when posts come up on the first few pages they're relatively new. My bad, I was just confused lol.

No problem. I stand by the sentiment, though. Players still act like I eviscerated their dog in front of them when they lose, or come off as if I was Osama Bin Laden when they win. I'm just not as shocked anymore. DbD is by far the most toxic game I've played, so it actually feels good when I go back to my other games, and chuckle at their versions of toxicity. It's weak sauce compared to here. Thanks, DbD.
