  • I've been trying Hag again, lately, but I just cannot seem to get teleport hits to land. I always feel a second too slow, even when I know they're going to activate a trap. It pops, I teleport and swing, they're already out of range. Or I find I'm not even facing them.

  • So do I. That's why Inner Strength and Detectives Hunch are in most of my builds. While my team is, hopefully, hammering out gens, I'm doing bones.

  • @MrRiingo said:

It really doesn't take long. I levelled up like 3 characters to 50+ in a few hours. Just play the game, do the challenges and use bps or similar.

3 characters. You realize there are over a hundred perks, right? Congrats, 50+ hours for nine perks.

And you don't see a problem with that.

How do you bodyblock AND go towards a strong loop at the same time? Does not happen very often.

And if you get hit by DS, it's entirely on you. You, as a killer, decide if the survivor gets to use DS or not..

I said 'led.' Survivors that are smart enough to know BT can bodyblock, are also smart enough to simply gun for a pallet, being shielded by their BT survivor. Could be to shack pallet, could be to a jungle gym. Doesn't matter. So long as it's to a pallet, it's safe. Doesn't happen often, no, but then, I don't run into BT abuse all that much. Usually in a SWF.

It's not JUST DS. You slug, they have Unbreakable. They get on a hook, three others can swoop in with BT and simply rotate protection hits. There will be a flashlight, or a toolbox to hit that hook you're nearing. Again, it's not often, but when you do run into a SWF like this, it leaves a lasting impression.

The real problem with BT, and DS, is EGC. Killer doesn't have anything else to do when the timer starts ticking down but protect what they have.

  • They aren't.

They are just really, really, REALLY slow.

  • @MrLimonka said:

Just don't go after the unhooked person?

If the unhooked person tries to bodyblock and they purposely run to you, just wait the BT timer out?

    It's so simple.

Not really. If the unhooked person bodyblocks, they'll usually be led to a strong pallet or loop. So, if you down them, they'll probably have DS, thus you need to ignore them. Which gives them time to crawl to a pallet. Rinse and repeat for four survivors it's really tricky to actually manage. Especially on a non movement based killer.

Yes, this is true. Any pvp multiplayer game can trigger the same effects. Humans are intelligent, but we are also machines driven by instinct. But that's not a topic for the dbd forums.

    I agree.

I think this plays more of an effect in DbD, simply because it's a 1v4. Either you smash a team of four, and feel the need to belittle, or you torment a single player, and usually have three others that'll jump on the bandwagon with you. This 'us vs them' system that's been cultivated really drives that home.

  • @Eorpwald said:

Nurse ... Deathslinger ... someone has never played console. They're bad.

Did you happen to be here two weeks ago, when the forum had three new threads about how 'uncounterable' Deathslinger was popping up every four minutes? Now that there is cross platform, it's all lumped together.

  • Technically, any game with a 'you vs them' format can do the same, not just DbD.

  • Lemme guess. This combo is going to get nerfed for being 'oppressive,' but the DS/Unbreakable will continue to be ignored for another two years.

then you dont play the game simple. just because you want to play the game so bad you have the rights to make the game experience of other people bad? what is that logic? its completely fine to let other people suffer? devs dont bring a ping indicator of killers, they dont improve the servers, they dont bring new servers to different regions like russia, they brought a hit validiation what isnt even working.

but omg stretched is sooo cheating. where you can look over a rock just by 1CM

if you say SWF is cheating, stretched is cheating also getting a advantage of a bad ping is cheating simple.

You do realize this is dedicated servers, right? You can have fantastic net, and still get bad ping depending on where you're connecting too. I have a 20mb/s connection, and I can still have matches where I'm told I hit somebody halfway across the map.

Nor can you blame players for what devs can't do. Not sure why you're acting like it's the players fault.

Players can't control ping, but they can control their own settings. So, when you tweak it to give you an advantage nobody else has, yes, that's cheating. Get over it.

  • Who thought ToT was nerfed? I must have missed something.

I had fun with the perk when it first came out, but the bright yellow WARNING light at only 16 seconds kept me from using it after those first few days. Now, I'll try it out again on my Plague.

  • I mean, Spinechill on a decent Blendette is horrible. . .

  • Because the devs wanted the horror feel? It sounds nice, but in this type of game where information is king, it really hinders him.

  • Because the devs take months, in some cases years, to make ANY noteworthy changes. God loops took almost four years to address, and they STILL exist. Maps like Ormond and Haddonfield are a thing. DCing without husks is a thing. Perks to make up for gameplay mechanic fails is still a thing. Faulty matchmaking is still a thing. Screwy emblem system is still a thing. The out dated Shrine and bloodweb are still a thing. No push to bring solo experience to SWF standards. Incredibly slow push to bring the old killers up to todays standards. Nurse still has the most bugs to her gameplay over any killer. Keys and moris have yet to be addressed.

But so long as they keep pumping out those cosmetics, all is dandy in the world!

Can some threads/posts be bullying? Sure, I'll admit that. But again, this batch of perk changes took, what, eight months to get out? EIGHT months? Maybe, just maybe, if they expanded the balance team to speed things along, so we didn't have to wait two months at a time to get a balance pass, sometimes not even that, everybody wouldn't be so high strung with changes.

So what? Whatever anyone of the staff says this forum would gonna misuse the words anyway. Also complaining about a minor change, and nothing more is this, is already questionable enough. Those complaints just show how killer biased this forum is, and how far-off reality you guys are.

Nobody is really complaining about the lack of fifteen seconds, though. Hell, nobody was complaining about PGTW in the first place. What is being complained about is the apparent motivation behind why the perk was nerfed, which can be applied elsewhere. There are other perks out there that could have focus placed on, but PGTW was a choice? And for such a lame reason? That's the issue, here.

How that is out of touch in your world view isn't connecting in my head.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

The two aren't even that similar, but like with everything else... let's throw it into the mix even though it doesn't make sense to do so, because it's DS we're talking about so let's add to the millions of other comparisons that didn't stick maybe this one will.

First off, You don't have DS after every hook. You also don't get DS for completing an objective.

I agree that Pop's nerf wasn't warranted, but I am starting to think that people just like to say whatever gets in their head just because they don't like something.

You only need one obsession in match to assume that all four have DS. If you do have it, you have 60 seconds of hook immunity. That goes along with Almo's 'spend too much time doing other things and still have it available.' His reasoning can be used for DS, because it's valid.

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

How about stopping this whataboutism nonsense?

Almo opened the door with his half assed response as to why PoP was nerfed.

  • Remember, if you don't like it, you can always go play Civs.

Honestly, though, you'd think they'd invest in more balance people, instead of the two? Three? They have atm. Getting a patch every two months or so is horrible. But then, they need to keep pumping out the cosmetics, right?

in what reality? i already tested out the camping as killer and if i dont rank up, im 100% at safe pip!

so camping killers get not only lots of BP that they dont deserve but get to keep their ranks!

as solo survivor i feel punished - leave the no BP, leave the derank....

i feel punished cause BEHAVIOUR cant care less about SOLO survivors. cause for BEHAVIOUR, solo players are not worth the effort, we are not good enough of investment and most of us dont go and complain, mostly sit and suffer quietly or move on to another game

Then you're brown rank, low green at best. You rank by completing chases, keeping them off gens while hitting them yourself, disrupting heals, downs, etc. You don't get that by face camping, unless, again, you're very low rank. Nor do they get 'lots of bp.' If they DO manage to rank, and get bp, then they weren't camping.

  • If they follow PHs example, he'll get a time delay added to his M2, but also a larger hitbox. I'm okay with that.

Good to know thank you rivyn because solo queue teammates are absolutely the worse. I'll make sure I play more swf than ever and get this....split pressure gens to always win!

Oh, believe me, I rank the solo q experience up with the tactical 4 man. It really is the worst. I went back to killer this week because the solo q was just that bad. Needed a break from the headache of bad teams.

why would the killer bother moving at all?

why not camp the hook like the killers azz is stitched to the hooked surv azz and thats it?

killers get ranked for such behavior while solo survivors get f

Killers lose rank by face camping, don't stretch that issue, there. Unless there's a legitimate reason to be nearby, like another survivor leading chase, or hiding next to the hook, or something similar. Survivor just has to pound out a gen or two, get a safe unhook, few heals, two or three good chases, and they'll rank to purple, at least.

  • I once camped a rank 18, green perk, nooby noob because the red ranked Nea that that nooby noob had just rescued jumped into a locker. I knew they had DS and Headon, so I just waited and watched. The Nea remained in that locker until the two minutes passed and the nooby noob died on first hook. Poor nooby noob.

I wonder how will devs respond to this (if at all). I'd be nice to see some further changes to DS making it more of an anti-tunneling perk rather then anti-momentum perk.

'If you don't like it, you can always go play Civs.'

Read the post before you comment please!

Im saying that the missed attack cool-down is ok but there are more reasons why people don't go for ranged attacks outside of animation locks

I did read the post. We don't even know the time delay added, so it's too early to jump to conclusions. With a reduced cooldown on a missed attack, I'd say we'll be seeing it used more, outside of animation locking.

  • Answer me this. Do you know the length of the delay added between switching? No? Then we can't say it's ruined. If it's 1.25-5 seconds, I don't see an issue with that. Lowering the missed attack is going to be pretty nice.

  • @PigMainClaudette If you can get it, sure, I don't see why not. But if the savior just runs to a strong position, leaving their unhooked companion in a bad one, it's not a hard decision. It's not the killers responsibility to forgive bad team mates.

I'm not excusing hard core tunneling, but half these tunnel threads are usually the fault of bad team mates, not just the killer alone.

  • I used to camp a hook as Nurse. She was the killer I first started playing as, since it was her gameplay that got me into the game. I remember wondering why camping a hook was bad when it got me the kill. Them were the days.

On survivor side, I ran Claudette because of Self Care. Used to wonder why nothing was happening, when all us nubs were using self care. No gens were being finished.

  • '...right when you get off the hook.' Shouldn't that blame be placed in your team mate for doing an unsafe hook, then? They pulled you off, and apparently didn't have BT, or body blocked. Why should the killer go after a stronger target at that time? Because good manners?

  • I can't say I've lost a match to it, but I have lost a lot of time. So, that does factor in.

Can you clarify? I thought the OoO user had to be looking directly at the killer to see the aura.

That's correct. The survivor can look in the killers direction, and reveal their aura, even if the killer isn't facing them. The problem comes in the reverse. If the survivor isn't looking at the killer, then the killer can't see them. This allows the survivor to monitor the killer, and simply look away to hide their own aura. That's a lot of free info with little effort.

  • We've become accustomed to knowing that OoO is a SWFs break and butter when they want to be toxic. See OoO? Automatically assume it's either a toxic group, or a group of sweat lords.

Plus, I don't like it's broken state. The killer can only see the OoO user if said user is looking at them, but the OoO user can see the killer no matter their position? It's stupid.

  • Bugs. It really ticks me off when my match goes sour because I can't hook somebody, or that Meg is making zero sounds, or the 'aim dressing' does a 180 and makes me smack the truck behind me.

When I have three back to back matches, and the killer brings a mori, just to tunnel every person out of the match. What's the point of playing?

A toxic 4 man sweat lord SWF. Or just constant sweaty matches. Either way, I want to have fun, not bust my balls.

Can you really not let something wholesome stay wholesome?

This is DbD. Nothing ever stays wholesome.

  • Xenomorph, of course.

T-800 would be lovely. They have the rights to it, don't they?

    Big Daddy!

  • And then that Dweet teabags on hatch and 'ggezgitrektscrubbabykiller' in post game chat.

The Trapper proceeds to 4k slug the next group he comes across to release some stress.

Killers definitely have crutch perks not gonna name any- UNDYING, RUIN, POP, HAUNTED, CORRUPT, BBQ, SOME MORE THAT I CAN'T REMEMBER. Other than that I guess only survivors only have crutches

. . . what? You consider those crutches? I don't think you understand what crutch means, in this case. . .

  • Which? The one with the window at the end? Then yes, you can play around that, though it's mindgaming them. The window in the side of the bus? Then no, unless you have Bamboozle. No point, just leave. It's like the old god window in Iron Works.

  • @azame said:

He was high ping so behind the servers, he didnt have time to trap that window, team was trash.

What does me having to be on console mean with slinger its universally accepted he has easy zoning and an insta shot you cant react to and its "fine" due to his lack of map pressure.

How about notnlowkey insult me k? Besides I'm a good player I could almost guarentee you couldnt catch me fast in an actual match.

I wasn't insulting you, though. I just have a better understanding now. Controller vs KB/M and all, gives a different light on the matter. That's all I was saying.

Didn't they remove the server hit validation because it broke killer powers? Find it funny that when they add something to fix an issue, it breaks something else. Like dedicated servers and exhaustion perks.

  • I wonder how close he appeared on his screen to get these hits. I'm just surprised he didn't trap the first window. Not so surprised that the team wasn't doing anything. Felt painful. Feels bad, man.

On an unrelated note, I didn't realize you were on console. Those Slinger posts make a bit more sense now. Sorry about that.

  • No. I like the idea, but dislike the concept. I'm already crunched for time as killer, so forcing me to take some out to open up routes that MUST be opened? Saloon shows this off. Taking time out to clear up the saloon, or else you'll never catch survivors in there? Bad execution.

  • Because Devs turn a blind eye to SWF. How many SWF related posts do you see them responding to, with any meat to the reply? Almost zero. So long as they pretend SWF doesn't exist, they don't have to balance it.

  • Bad idea. Seeing how vile some people are with text chat, can you imagine the extent with voice?

  • As it stands, kicking generators is pointless without PoP. The base regression is far too low to make it worthwhile, especially when a simple tap cancels the regression.

  • Same with PH. Just add a 1.5 second adjustment when dropping M2. That way, it can't be spammed nearly as much, and gives survivors a better window to react.

  • I recently switched back to killer, as I was tired and embarrassed over the constant mori spam from console killers. Felt I had to show these console survivors that you can play killer without mori, outside Devour.

  • The big takeaway from it is the clear showing that a good survivor team is the power role, here.

  • Just give a bit of a cooldown between switching. 1.5 seconds, maybe? Other than that, yeah, he's fine.

  • Play Clown with Noed/Insidious. Guard basement box, and don't leave. When they pop all gens, go and hook them. If NOED doesn't activate, open the gate for them and congratulate them for doing bones. If it does, mock them for not doing bones.

Doing this makes me feel better.

  • A health chapter wouldn't bring an immediate injection of cash, which is the real reason why they won't do it.
