  • I'm for this.

Nah it should be changed to having a ranged requirement like slinger's (although it'd work better than his) as it is even with one it'd still be dull and stupid. You don't really see good huntresses running it and it would be even more of the same waiting until you're a centimetre in front of her before throwing.

Slinger can reload when he wants, and doesn't have a giant humming radius. Huntress requires specific locations to reload, so adding a range requirement would be silly.

  • Outcomes are different. Ebony ends the game early, usually before it had a chance to start. Keys end it late, usually when the match is ramping up. When I'm against a mori, I know not to become invested. When I'm against a key, I don't have an option to not be invested. Two different feelings.

  • If they really are out to troll other players, instead of honest mistakes, what's to stop them from simply changing their names?

  • Don't you play console? It's been known for years how poorly devs have optimized console, for both sides. Additionally, it's dedicated servers. You can have the best connection in the world, but you still need to hope for a decent server. Not giving a pass for a bad connection, but there is a middle man to be looked at.

What survivor rank are ya? I find tunneling and camping to be negligible at purple and below. At least, from my experience. Though I did find a swarm of key/mori users on console side. Made me go back to killer.

Everybody has a few killers they don't like going against, for one reason or another. I don't like going against Trapper and Ghost Face, but I like PH and Nurse. Comes down to taste.

As for the event, everybody dislikes it. It's not an event, it's a cash grab.

I don't think DbD is a bad game, just poorly managed. Plus, the greed as you mentioned. I do agree with that.

  • Brown, maybe high green rank, yes?

  • I can't say my matches are harder recently. More like they've actually been easier. I've switched to GF, pretty fun, back at R2, but most of my competition are purple and green.

I have seen, however, a rise in TTV and their SWF buddies. Not any more difficult than usual, just more of em.

  • I don't recommend this game to my friends due to the grind, and the pay wall. The only reason I have what I have is due to that massive sale last year that coincided with my tax returns, and I splurged. Outside that, the grind is just too much. My brother was curious, but after seeing some of my matches, and explaining what is required to get what my build were, he declined.

    It doesn't nullify her power.

The survivors get a queue of where you are every like 2 seconds, you are still faster than them and you are also still have supieor info that is more consistant.

Only thing this nullifies is the mindgame where you stand still

Only thing id add to this is make it so the spirit knows when the survivor can hear them for that breif moment so you can play with it, otherwise id agree its a good change

I really do get tired of people not actually reading what I post. I said the PURPOSE of her power, not so much the power itself. The purpose is to leave the survivor guessing, to think ahead, or at the very least, guess, where the Spirit is. It gives the element of surprise. That's removed when the survivor can hear where she's coming from to such a degree. Yes, it can be played around, but what's the point of actually being invisible when her location is broadcasted? Surprise is mostly removed, except against new players.

A better choice, if you're going to adjust her power, would to simply allow her white noise to play over hear terror radius when she's actually phasing. If the bug is kept, what's the purpose of her white noise?

  • @BigTimeGamer said:

I mean it’s a bug, though it’s otherwise a good thing to keep

    prayer beads are garbage anyway

How is that a good thing to keep? It nullifies the purpose of her power.

  • If you're referring to her and the emblem system, it's well known she does poorly. But unless they redo the emblem system, you can't do much about it.

  • Survivors claim its to get a few more chase points, or to give the killer a free smack, but those are miniscule. Most likely, it's just to taunt the killer as in 'you didn't get me, watch me walk out the gate.'

  • I had a dance off with a clearly nooby survivor group the other day as Ghostface. They were dropping pallets before I was even at the loop, slow vaulting everything, exploding gens left and right, stabbing eachother in the butt with failed healing checks, and so on. I made sure to scare the bejesus out of them. Took close to twenty minutes for them to finally pop all the gens, when I could have finished it in three at five gens.

We had a dance off at the gate. The Dweet won when he busted out the head nodding mid crouch. I was so proud.

  • My late night Youtube binge watching last year had me viewing clips from various horror movies, one being Silent Hill. But the playlist didn't have the sequence with the Nurse, which, for some reason, I wanted to rewatch. After watching that clip, I noticed a NURSE BEST 4K vid, or something along those lines. Found it curious, and it led me to some streamer or something, playing Nurse. Rest of history.

I still amuse myself thinking back at how I believe I would be the 0.001% to truly master Nurse right out the gate.

I´m just watching the stream. Ethan says they´re gonna leave it as-is. That´s it, I have lost all faith in this guys decision making abilities. Mindblowing, I can´t believe this guy. So it is confirmed, they are as intellectually challenged as I feared they would be. Omfg I think I´ll take a break, I got the first page done anyway.

Wasn't it Ethan that said that the Clown had hidden potential he believed people were missing? I wonder what game he plays. . .

  • Depends on how far the gate is. If you hooked them right next to it, risk the DS. If you didn't, and there's a minutes worth of time, well, wait it out.

  • Throw traps into unexpected spots, then push them there. I'll always put two or three traps around trees near loops, where I think they'll run by after a pallet drop. Trees usually have grass around them, and since it's not on the loop, they usually don't expect it. If you do put them on loops, don't put them near the pallets. Go for the long corner of a wall or something.

  • I do this myself. If they're dumb enough to go for an unsafe hook the moment I turn my back, then think I won't stick around when they crawl under the hook, well, that's two for the price of one right there.

  • Apparently the devs don't understand why OoO is in the state it's in, at least by their stats. It's on the lower end, because most solos don't run it. Those that do are tunneled out of the game. It's when it's paired with SWF, which the devs ignore, that it becomes the issue it is. I know they ignore SWF for the most part, but it's not a hard concept to understand.

  • It's incredibly tedious, and simply gets more so with every character released. By this point, it needs a complete overhaul. Same with the Shrine.

  • Eh. I agree, survivor is easier than killer, but I wouldn't say it's relaxing. The solo q experience is a nightmare. I went back to killer almost full time last week because of a string a horrible matches with incredibly inept survivors. At least with killer, while it's far more stressful, everything is on me. I don't have to rely on others.

  • Remember, devs ignore, for the most part, that SWF exists. Which is why they haven't touched almost anything related to SWF. We had brief hope with the Kindred change, but then they went back into denial.

  • I've had matches where the teabagging survivor I've ignored all match is the one to make it out, depip, get maybe 10k points, yet 'ggezbabykiller.' Worse are the ones that use dc tech to get hatch, and think they did well in doing so.

  • Oof. Nurse and Plague, my girls! Nurse at the bottom, even though she's the strongest killer in the game? That says something about her skill cap. And Plague, only picked 2% of the time? Anybody remember the swarm of posts about nerfing her? Fun times.

  • We know. But at this point, the devs are more likely to nerf Monstrous Shrine before touching OoO.

  • If you don't like it, you can go play Civilizations, remember?

BHVR has shown, year after year, that they cannot learn from their own mistakes. Instead, they follow up with new ones on top of the old. Last years event was terrible, but this new one blows even that out of the water. History repeats itself.

  • Was on it yesterday. One of the tall fences in the right corner of the map made me groan in frustration. It went from the back end of the map, where the little shed resides near the house and gen, stretched aaaaaaall the way down to the street, with the pickup truck loop.

God, do I hate that map. . .

  • Depends on the SWF. I've broken it down into three flavors.

A lot of the times, I don't even realize I'm playing against one, as they play as if they're solo. There may be hints, such as similar offerings, or names, but usually, I can't tell the difference. I just assume. Thus, I treat them as I do with solos. This first group is usually what I face most when it comes to SWF. I don't mind it, since it just feels like a normal match.

Then you have the second, who act like they just watched Noob3's toxic series and want to test it out on me. The whole clicky clicky teabagging at every pallet sabo types. These annoy me, because it's usually a two, maybe three man, and the solo they have on their side is left hanging in the blue. I've seen them leave the solo to die on first hook just so they can get that flashlight stun. If I'm able, I try and give the solo the hatch, just because I feel bad for them. This group is also the ones I face the most dcing against, either due to rage quitting, or hatch tech.

The third group is the dreaded 4man sweat squad. These. . . whew. They leave a bad impression, and usually stick with me the longest. An actual 4man is pretty rare, at least at the skill level I'm talking about, but it clouds my judgement against any SWF I come against. When asked about SWF, these groups are the first that come to mind.

I don't think we should know about SWF before the match. I do agree with the devs that it would cause more lobby dodging. I do, however, believe we should know AFTER the match, in the post game lobby. Additionally, there should be an increase in rewards given to the killer, and solos, for each member that was in the SWF group. You can't balance around comms, or at least the devs seem to believe, but you can at least give adequate rewards for those that have to deal with them.

  • Thanks bud. Going to pump these into my baby Ghostface

  • Yeah, this doesn't say anything. Break it down by rank, and what variables are in the mix. It really bugs me when they release this crap, since it doesn't actually say anything when it comes to balance.

  • @MadLordJack I did not say it's weak. Reread what I posted. I said I don't see it as that great. Strong, sure, but it's rng reliant. I can't consider something that requires rng to be 'extremely sweaty,' as all that needs to be done is bones. That's just my opinion, though.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Uh... So you want to discuss your own extremely sweaty build? Or are we gonna ignore that and jump on the anti-SWF bandwagon?

It's okay to bring strong stuff on both sides. I see no problem with anything in this screenshot, except maybe the exceptionally high gamma. I'm not attempting to justify behaviour but we only have your word for it.

Except the 'extremely sweaty build' can be nullified by doing bones. I honestly don't understand why this combo is considered that great. It's Hex reliant, and Hex's aren't reliable.

  • @ChantyBoi said:

Bring detectives hunch. For the price of one perk slot you can completely nullify two of the killers perk slots making the perk ratio of killers to survivor 15:2 if you can't be bothered to actually try to counter it, don't complain about it.

This. I run Detectives just because I enjoy it most of the time, but since this combo has come about, it feels fantastic knowing I can deny said combo.

Calm down you found them what's the big deal it's not rule breaking in any way sounds like you're an entitled killer main

    It is rule breaking.

    GRIEFING: INTENTIONAL GAMEPLAY ABUSE

    • Working with the opposite team to gain an advantage or grief teammates
    • Targeting specific users repeatedly in order to ruin their game experience
    • Holding the game hostage
    • In-game report REQUIRED / Customer Support ticket OPTIONAL

If survivors fail to do their objective, instead opting to hide for an extended period of time, it is considered holding the game hostage. Nice try.

  • The majority of her addons suck. That's the devs idea of balance. Make her a stun simulator, never fix her bugs, and give her a ton of worthless or meme addons. Fixed!

  • I do feel it's a bit overrated. It can be strong, especially with Ruin. At the end of the day, though, it's a Hex. One bad spawn and you're down a perk. If you're running Ruin, you'll be down two. As for the aura reading, is it really that strong? I rarely ever get a use out of it in that fashion. If I do manage to see somebody with it, it's one of two situations. Either I'm already in a chase, and it lights them up right in front of me, or it's on the other side of the map, and they're cleansing.

It's a good combo with Ruin, sure, but it all comes down to rng. And I hate the rng in this game.

  • I hear ya. That's why I went back to killer. Well, one of the reasons. Bad team mates that pulled these stuns, and the constant wave of console killers bringing moris.

I get it if they have BT, but without? And then they'll have the nerve to complain about camping/tunneling.

  • DS + Unbreakable + Soul Guard + BT + Adrenaline

    The horror. . . .

  • As a Plague main, I can tell you from my experience that it's a pretty bad addon, especially for an ultra rare.

Plague is already at the whim of survivors, this just doubles up on it. A lot of the time you're out of position when it activates. Worse is the early game, when gens are popping quickly. It's the early game that she needs her VP, to spread the love, not CP. When you have the gens being finished in the first two or three minutes, CP isn't worth it. Then you only have two or three more uses from it, and they aren't cleansing at that point.

Is it fun to use as a surprise? Sure, I've tried to meme with it before. But I don't rank it anywhere near good. Black Incense is infinitely more agreeable for an ultra rare.

  • Thompson House? As in the map with a giant corn field survivors can disappear into, with a variety of T Walls, jungle gyms, and harvesters surrounding it? You almost always have a tile to W to when the killer vaults, aside form the gaps between the house and the jungle gyms.

Bamboozle doesn't need a nerf, because it's a mediocre perk. Most times, survivors simply need to head to the next tile, making it useless. Are there outlier situations where they can't? Sure. But nine times out of ten, that isn't the case.

It is the game. Maybe take a break when feeling like that. Losing really badly because you just don’t participate in basics and ignore fundamentals is not going to relax you as killer.

Where did you get that from his response? He wasn't wrong. There are times when looping does get tiresome. Thankfully, there are killers that are anti loop, so if you don't want to loop as much, nab them. I know I just grab Doc when I don't feel like looping.

  • About two months ago, had a match against a sweaty 4 man as Legion, who I was using for one of the rift challenges. The one about getting four hits in Feral Frenzy in one go or something. Match actually made me consider uninstalling.

Took place on Shelter Woods. They were excellent loopers. No keys or maps, just two medkits, a toolbox, and flashlight. There was ALWAYS somebody around when I was able to get a down. Was flashlight blinded twice, even though they weren't in FOV. Broke three, maybe four, hooks I needed, allowing two to wiggle off (three oak offerings and one white ward). Unbreakable made the few times I was able to slug pointless. BT into DS into BT a few times when I simply tried to focus down the flashlight Nea. By the time four gens had popped, they were simply rotating hooks and changing loop locations with BT. I could keep them injured with Feral Frenzy, but it never seemed to be enough. They just moved to the next jungle gym during the four seconds, and when I was going to get a down, somebody came in for the body block.

Ended in, maybe, ten minutes? Twelve at most. Gens were done in around eight or nine, and I know I spent two minutes keeping one slugged and one hooked at shack. Issue was the gate was right there as well, so I was rotating around trying to keep that door shut, but again, that was only about two minutes as they chipped away at it. I almost had one kill , as their timer on hook was nearly zip, when boop. Soul Guard on the slugged Feng, into BT on the hooked Nea, who then was body blocked by the David and Bill. Teabagged out the door.

I was 'this' close to hitting that uninstall button.

  • Mute her TR, and play her white noise when she's phasing. Done.

  • Just add a bit of a delay when lowering the aim. 1.15 may work, so it's not spammed as much. Other than that, he's fine.

  • Imbalance. There's a reason why OoO/SWF is so powerful. Letting your team know where the killer is, what they're doing, what they're running, what gens are being worked on, where the Hex is, etc etc. And we've seen how little the devs care about actually balancing SWF, can you figure the work needed to balance comms on the solo side?

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1664151#Comment_1664151

They cant touch swf they have to buff solo then killers. You should NOT punish playing with friends.

Didn't say punish. Balancing should not be punishing. They showed with the Kindred buff that they COULD work solo up to similar SWF levels, in terms of information, they just haven't put in the effort. At the very least, they could up the bp rewards for killers and solos if a SWF is in play, but no. They just pretend SWF doesn't exist.

  • So long as SWF remains untouched, I will consider the devs 'survivor sided.'

  • I mean...

    20201003232223_1.jpg 20201003232229_1.jpg

This was just last night. It's not an uncommon occurrence. Happens on both sides, it's just more prominent from survivors since it's the larger population at any given time.

1 … 15 16 17 18 19 … 52
