here are the best skills you can possibly ask for is the year 2020!

    amazing!

players cheat and your Rizzo90 ban me from the forums

The main thought is that "any buff a solo survivor receives - a magical SWAT SWF will benefit and abuse it far more" - it's always going to be a frustrating experience playing with randoms over a "friend" that you have vetted for personality etc yourself. The largest impetus to this is that solos are directly denied resources to communicate in the same manner through ingame means: Things like Pings, Preset Text macros or the potentially toxic ingame voice or text chat. In game lore could be the Archivist or Entity is psionically connecting the survivors to give them more hope before the killer crushes them etc.

This would NOT effect BHVR's bottom line as long as killer's perks and powers were now compensated appropriately with the baseline assumption that all survivors have the ability to communicate. OoO could be adjusted down as would some other aura perks, chase potentials or at least map traversal and sizes would have to be adjusted since all survivors will now be able to make use of spreading out effectively etc

Until that day comes without "immersion" being the dev excuse against why ingame solo communication of any form could be introduced - we're just gonna have to suck it up and leave the game in it's strange seesaw state where everything is bandaided together into a Bethesda-esque working product... or a new game comes out that addresses issues like this so you don't have to buddy up to enjoy a facet of the game

    this!

    finally not some troll!

because solo players cant communicate, you cant really know if this player doing archives, playing normally or just a lost potato...

i think if we had as solo players a way to communicate, it would make solo play more balanced.

also will help avoid campers and act potato trying to save without BT the camped survivor

Oh, believe me, I rank the solo q experience up with the tactical 4 man. It really is the worst. I went back to killer this week because the solo q was just that bad. Needed a break from the headache of bad teams.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1645678#Comment_1645678

Killers lose rank by face camping, don't stretch that issue, there. Unless there's a legitimate reason to be nearby, like another survivor leading chase, or hiding next to the hook, or something similar. Survivor just has to pound out a gen or two, get a safe unhook, few heals, two or three good chases, and they'll rank to purple, at least.

in what reality? i already tested out the camping as killer and if i dont rank up, im 100% at safe pip!

so camping killers get not only lots of BP that they dont deserve but get to keep their ranks!

as solo survivor i feel punished - leave the no BP, leave the derank....

i feel punished cause BEHAVIOUR cant care less about SOLO survivors. cause for BEHAVIOUR, solo players are not worth the effort, we are not good enough of investment and most of us dont go and complain, mostly sit and suffer quietly or move on to another game

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/194136/stop-tunneling

Dont bring a key and I wont tunnel you 🤷‍♂️

dont bring key, dont rush gens, dont touch totems, dont drop pallets, dont breath and i wont tunnel you.

why you look for excuses to tunnel? i bet you have 300 excuses to camp too.

how about play and let others play too? how about improve skills? how about not getting 4 kills by any means (camp and tunnel) but instead learn the killer and try different perk combos?

  • @Rivyn said:

'...right when you get off the hook.' Shouldn't that blame be placed in your team mate for doing an unsafe hook, then? They pulled you off, and apparently didn't have BT, or body blocked. Why should the killer go after a stronger target at that time? Because good manners?

why would the killer bother moving at all?

why not camp the hook like the killers azz is stitched to the hooked surv azz and thats it?

killers get ranked for such behavior while solo survivors get f

  • @TimeOutTimmy said:

Yesterday I was in a duo, we are both 4/5. We had a 2 and a 9 with us. Killer was a bad 4. He finally hit the 2 and hooked them in the basement, only to camp the stairs, right before last gen was done.

We managed to get the 2 out, and we all exited... by simple in game communication. One player kept the killers attention on them, one stood at the exit gate so the hooked survivor could see where to go, and the other person did the save. When the save was made, the gate keeper and killer taunter ushed in and formed a protective barrier... to take the protection hit.

Killer called us a 4 person sweat squad. We weren't, not even close. Only 2 of us could communicate, and if you heard our communication you would have probably laughed... as none of it was strategy related.

When you get to a certain level, you get better at reading each game.

i had right now 4 games. 4 games in a row!

all of them vs rank 1-2 killers.

guess what they did? camp, camp, camp, camp....

even a game with 1 surv DC on 5 gens... the killer rank 1 nurse was busy camp and slug and tunnel...the 3 of us! and just so we wont have any doubt that we are not getting out of there even with a hatch... before hooking this nurse made sure to find the last surv and down him.

out of all 4 games, this was the only one i was able to make 1 unhook of a surv who unhooked me before - for the missions.

i already disabled the cross to avoid potatoes... but killers still camp with or without the cross.

im 100% sure i wont be able to finish the archives im tier 54 and have 10 days left.. last time i bother buying.

The goal of the buffs isn't to shake up the meta. It's to make perks that aren't being used at all good enough that those of us who enjoy playing with different perks will create niche builds using these perks.

I've run any means necessary and it is useful to reset a pallet. Even a weak pallet can be used to stun the killer and that stun allows you to get to another loop. Otherwise a weak pallet that's down will just get you killed.

Built to last is really strong with a Blood Amber key.

Desperate Measures combined with Botany Knowledge is a very strong. It can absolutely evaporate the killers pressure, a killer can go from having all survivors injured to them all healthy in absolutely no time. Do you play killer? Do you know what that feels like when you had 4 injured survivor and you can't find them and then they all heal up? It's the worst.

Zarina's for the people is a bit niche, but it's also really strong. It can also completely remove the pressure that a killer has applied. I'll give you an example of a game that was the difference between winning and losing.

I was playing vs a legion. I was running - For the People, Desperate Measures, Botany Knowledge, and Self Care. The legion had gotten us all hurt, put one of the 3 other players on hook and was camping that survivor. My team mates had tried to lure him away from the hook, but they had both gone down right next to the hook.

I used self-care with a 16 second heal and when he picked up a survivor to put them on a hook (which was very close to the original hook) I used for the people to get 1 survivor of the ground (who had only healed to halfway) and I unhooked the survivor in no time at all thanks to desperate measures and we had just enough time to make distance before he could come back and defend the hook.

That was a game that without those perks would have ended then and there. Is your build better in most circumstances, sure. Is it always better, definitely not.

    @APoipleTurtle said:

With Any Means Necessary, they were concerned that making it too strong would effectively double or even triple the amount of pallets available to survivors (since they could reset dropped pallets). That's why it's effect is so slow to activate and it had (and still has) an awfully long cooldown. It's a niche perk, and will likely continue to be so for the foreseeable future.

For The People is actually surprisingly popular. I do think it's a terrible perk, but I see people using it all the time in my games. It is kinda fun when it works.

Technician will be changed to be more of a newbie-friendly perk. Which is fine, besides the fact that it's still a teachable locked behind Feng Min...

We're Gonna Live Forever formerly had no in-trial effect. And now it's getting one. This is by far the upcoming buff I'm most excited for.

Visionary to Deja Vu is what Bond is to Aftercare. The first has a weaker but more consistent passive ability, the second is stronger but requires effort to make use of. Also, Deja Vu is actually a pretty decent perk for quickly establishing which gens to do to avoid 3-Gen situations, and both perks are nice to have on any of the indoor maps.

Desperate Measures is better than you think. A 14% buff to Healing/Unhooking PER injured survivor is very good. It's the counter-perk to Thanatophobia AND to Legion. It might become a staple perk in Medic builds, especially when paired with Botany Knowledge (and possibly with buffed WGLF).

Built to Last is bad with toolboxes, but great on flashlights and most medkits (not to mention how it can be combo'd with a map or Skeleton Key). Getting back 50% of your item AFTER using up the whole thing is kind of awesome actually.

Plus it's not like survivors have gotten exclusively crap perks after David and Bill were added to the game back in 2017: Breakout, Detective's Hunch, Tenacity, Head On, Dance With Me, Windows of Opportunity, Aftercare, Inner Strength, and the original version of Mettle of Man all remained pretty popular and/or fun options and came from the very survivors you listed, even if none of these are truly considered "meta perks".

so basically what you both saying that this perks are useless to solo survivors. and good for SWF who doesnt have to use perks like kindred.

you use them for the fun of running something other than the meta perks

  • @Almo said:

Pop's duration is being reduced because we found you could spend too much time doing other things and still have it available.

hmm how about doing something USEFUL ? for example making a system to punish killers that camp your face at the hook

Behaviour work on the game reminds me of going to a doctor with a pain in the leg and get a treatment for a pain in the arm that you never had...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/193630/endless-camping-any-suggestions-for-improvement

Advocate for SWF and Solo to be two different Ques. Until then, they are going to continue to make things rough on everyone.

but what will be different between the Ques? ofc killer will mark that he doesnt wanna play against SWF and keep camping solo survs match after match

  • @Deadeye said:

    Two notes:

    • Cant confirm the camping. I have normal games most of the time.
    • And how you know they were SWF? I assume guessing

There is not really a way to punish camping without making the game look seriously foolish. Like the cage warp when PH camps them. Thats a bandaid because they reintroduced facecamping with it. The REAL facecamping, where the killer could block the "safe" spot, because there is only one spot you need to stand on to perform the unhook/uncage. Facecamping was solved by swivel hooks, so you can unhook from 180° and not from a blockable spot. So they invented the cage warp instead of swivel cages. Imo both a silly solution.

If you want to solve camping, would you like to have hook warping? Yeah... 0 BP? Yeah... how about simply making the killer explode or get stomped by the entity yelling "Th4t's n0 eN+erTa1nMent 4 M3!" would justify the 0BP and ruin killers fun as well. And just to be fair, clicking flashlights too often in a short time should make them explode with an own mori animation included as well. Pressing CTRL too often should make survivors fart bloody, shitting out a 1000BP for each consecutive crouch. If we get to that point, I simply quit the game.

I know this is exaggerating, but there is simply no solution that does not head towards "hook warping" or "entity stomping"

lets exaggerate if we have nothing smart to say!

how about all the face campers get their game uninstalled? why not just look at the hooked surv and get blinded? drop dead maybe?

easier to blame everyone else - i became camper cause x y z... BUT what about thinking what can be a solution for SOLO players?

maybe your blessed with nice killers and pro solo survs that can read your mind and play perfectly, but thats not my case...

also if you cant tell that 4 people dressed the same with almost same names are 100% SWF, im happy for you and wish you will never know what is to play against good red rank SWF - im happy you play in a pink bubble DBD! good for you!

  • @PsycologicalTrick said:

Spine chill, BT, kindred and bond. information perks would be far more helpful for you. BT is also good.

A stealthy approach can be the best approach. If the killer keep hitting the hooked survivor, time your action. As soon as the killer get into the animation after the hit, attempt an unhook.

i run DH, kindred, iron will and SC or BT

i already suggested solo surv get 5th perk slot but got all the possible toxicity for the idea.

I'm playing much more Survivor than Killer, and I think Spirit isn't fun to play against.

The problem with Spirit for me is that as a survivor you don't have any feedback, you don't know what she's doing when she stands still. For her this is just a big mind game, but to me (the survivor) it's like flipping a coin with 10 sides, and 9 out of 10 times I land with my face in her blade.

It's really hard to counter her, she can nearly always track you.

Do you have any tips how I can play against her.. Perks or anything else, because I'm running out of Ideas.

as spirit main and dbd player -

my advise is to play her a bit. when i started playing dbd in 2018, i only played killer (billy) and it was a pain in the butt to manage his saw, get somehow good and end up rank 1...

but what helped me out was that moment when i decided to play survivor. i learned how to play and think as survivor and it made my life as killer easy. i do struggle against SWF teams on red ranks (sad to say that SWF is all i get 7 out of 10 games and 99% of them TOXIC!!!), but against solo or small teams i manage to do great!

if you play her you will see that its not easy at the beginning, but the more you play, the better you get (for every killer)-

rank 20 - 12 can be easy cause you play mostly against people who are new or somewhat new

12 - 5 its gonna get hard and you need to put more effort, choose the right perks for you and practice.

5 - 1 is a pain for most killers - need to be more creative especially against SWF.

  • @CheyeneKL said:

It's not that hard- I got lucky and was able to complete it in just a few games. If you have trouble getting people to leave before you, pointing at the escape point in the exit gate usually gets them to leave before you. You can probably get it done within a few matches, even if only 2 people escape (or 1, if you're on the hook).

If you have trouble even getting to the point where the exit gates are open, hit up the official DBD discord server for an SWF group- they have channels specifically for it.

    thank you!

    ima solo surv ^^

really hard on solo red rank

  • @StibbityStabbity said:

Also, you don't NEED to survive for that to work. So one thing you can do is chill on a hook at the end of the match and resist the sweet embrace of death until everyone leaves you to die.

Also, what you can do is get the gate open, then hide nearby and let everyone else get chased into the gate. Then dart on by and be the last out.

didnt knew i dont have to survive!

    great!!!!!! thank u!

The killers are unbalanced with nerves, frezze at the beginning of the game on Xbox (not the Xbox, the game only) never happened before the crossplay update, lag Asilyum, Survivors little bit OP...

It's still cool this game, but I'm staying on Space Enginner for the moment, waiting to get some balancing on DBD. I only hope they won't hang around and rework all the maps !

in few days will be exactly 2 years im playing...

but after i was away for a bit over a month the game feels like it went from bad to worse O.o

so aint sure if im doing something wrong or they managed to mess up the game in a month

  • @ccactus623 said:

The killer has to have movement back before you can stun. You didn't it a bit early

    @supersonic853 said:

Its about timing you have to wait till the nurse has control over her character again since nothing can happen during pick up animation. (Its the same for flashlights).

    @xenotimebong said:

Killers can’t be stunned while they’re locked in an animation. That’s why you have to time flashlight blinds precisely, and it’s the same with pallets - if you drop it a fraction too early you won’t get the save.

    oh i see.

i do still wonder why dead hard never works. maybe u know?

only skill i use but never works to protect me

  • @th3 said:

99% its TOXIC SWF that this game creators protect so much.

and when you ask for YEARS to fix matching, for YEARS to fix SWF or give us option not to go against them, we (killers) get a spit in our faces.

they ignore us, remove our posts and worse part they dont do anything to fix this.

so ye, i understand the OP (original poster)!

  • @Tuscan said:

    Im Done playing killer

Almost every Red-Rank game its the same build & team-strategy

Decisive Strike, Adrenaline, Borrow Time & Dead Hard/Sprint Burst

They pick Coldwind almost 70% of the time.

Playing killer: Frustration, Try to find first survivor, Start a chase, survivor running around a loop untill i break pallet or get them, Meanwhile 2 gens have already been completed. Locate next survivor, while im on my way there the hooked survivor has been rescued and another gen has been completed.

Match ends up with maybe getting one kill if im very very lucky. But most of the time im in a chase and then BOOM, Adrenaline and everyone gets out.

Endchat: "Hahaha gg ez noob killer get rekt" "Suck my bitches"

Next game: I pick huntress with Iri head and infantry belt and MORI. Maybe get everyone down but since the game went by so quickly i dont even get a pip and barely any bloodpoints.

Endchat: "Wow iri, Kill urself insecure killer" "I hope ur family dies in a fire u sweaty #########"

Dear DEVS: Im not convinced that u ban people for harassment untill you make a similar function that CSGO have, Players gets a message that a player they have reported has been banned. Untill you implement this feature i will never believe that you ban players. i have a folder with Screenshots of players with their Steam ID and the really bad words they write in Chat after the game. NONE of the users with open profile has been banned and i check their steam profile weekly and i still can see that they play DBD.....

Dear people that playes survivor: How can it be so fun running around a pallet loop, drop the pallet and run to the next and repeat, How is this still a fun mechanic since 2016

Before u guys say the following: "They will always make this game lean towards survivors because they are the majority of players and they bring in the money for BHVR"

Make this game fun for people playing killers. Implement the report-respone that some of us want so we can really feel that reporting makes a difference.

Now to the changes i would like to see in terms of balance:

    1. If there is a squad of 3-4 players then Gens can be slower to repair
    2. Hatch: See my idea here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/177999/hatch-rework#latest
    3. DS.... shorten the timer from 60 seconds to 30-35, Or make it not available if the survivor rescues another survivor 5-10 seconds after unhooking a survivor. And for the love of god, DEACTIVATE IT if the survivor hops into a locker, Its a really annoying strat that always happens once the gates are opened wich results in 90% they getting out....
    4. Adrenaline, i have never used it so im not 100% in how it works, But make it only available if the survivor has either rescued a survivor or repaired a gen.
    5. Let players swap killers in lobby again if they feel they will be better of against certain item with a certain killer.
    6. Maybe this is already a feature but still: If both survivor and killers place map offerings then i think the chance of it choosing the killers map should be valued higher than the survivors. Im NOT meaning it should always choose the killers map but it should lean more towards it. Maybe a 60-40 chance.

    Now for two counter arguments:

"Hatch is fine as it is, killers are not entitled to their kills" Survivors are not entitled to survive the game, Its such a cheap crutch mechanic that the last survivor, Key or not can open and escape the hatch in one click.

"DS should not be changed because the killer can tunnel the survivor" If a killer tunnel a survivor he wont be rewarded because Facecamping and Tunneling most likely leads to only getting one kill wich leads to not recieving any good amount of BP and likely Derank. If however the killer manages to down more players its the survivors fault for beeing too alturistic.

    i understand you perfectly.

here how my matches looks like:

    Image 20200808174925-1 hosted in ImgBB
    Image 20200808180346-1 hosted in ImgBB

this 2 matches right now one after another...

1st one before it was exactly the same - in less than 1 hour 3 matches exactly like this.

this was my 5th match with freddy. today was the first time i decided to return play as killer and see freddy's changes.

  • @OBX said:

It will be a gruesome battle. It’s still unclear to me who is lower. Let’s hear everyone’s opinion.

after reading this forum a bit, there is no point even writing here. no one will hear you and most likely you will get trashed by the OMG dbd is the best fans.

what sits in this forums are SWF mostly that enjoy the game, people who get money by posting positive things about this game and some workers who filter out any post that even a little bit imply that the devs here really dont care about anything but the info on which outfit will you spend real money...

    so there is no point.

they basically removed any option to report or complain by asking you for the offenders steam id while blocking the option to see the steam account of the offender to report him. they added here a person to filter any post\comment that shows this games dev in any light other then the positive one.

for 4 years they cant fix matching by ranks, fix lobby search, improve the balance for solo players and etc... but they can ask you which outfit u want to pay for $.$

they want their community to be like this:

you got camped? you got tunneled? you got killer playing with survivor or verse? you found hacker?

SHUT UP AND MOVE ON CAUSE NO ONE CARES FOR 4 YEARS, NO ONE WILL CARE NOW. so save your time.

and to your question: i played fallout 76 the moment it got out, it stinks of stupidity. just to think that someone woke up in the morning and thought: "thats a good idea to make a game without npc! cause people like to wonder all day and have 0 communication with recorded tapes!" BUT they changed that. (too little, too late..)

but then i remember the recent dwight the brave quest here and i ask myself the same question - who woke up in dbd team and thought that game breaking mission like dwight the brave is a good idea? don't the solo players suffer enough as it is? so instead of fixing, they ignore.. even worse part that for 4 years they cant get the matching system fixed. 4 YEARS! if i was the owner, i would fire some people and build a thinking team to finally solve this issue.. but hey, if after 4 years they don't care, they wont care after 10.

    HOPE THIS ANSWERS UR QUESTION.

The devs don’t hate solo Survivors. They’ve said it many times that they want to close the rift between solo and SWF, but it’s not easy. Also, they don’t cater to SWF either. There’s a bunch of perks dedicated to solo players, such as Kindred, Aftercare, Better Together, and more. All of those perks I named, SWF never use them, and that’s for a reason.

The only reason solo is marginally more difficult than SWF is due to lack of communication and teamwork. Trust me, I’m a solo player myself, and oftentimes my teammates won’t even let me heal them while they Self Care in a corner and I have Autodidact. It’s frustrating, but that’s how it is in any multiplayer game flying solo.

i have no idea what ranks you play, but at red ranks the things i see are amazing.... how after such gameplay they even manage to get to red ranks.

killers stand and camp yelling at solo survivors that we swf rushed gens.

survivors suicide on the hook after 2 minutes and killers go out of their ways on the 2 surv who left.

all resent updates and survey that ask me which outfit i wanna pay for, makes me think that not only they gave up on fixing matching, they gave up on the balance.

to say some perks got buff cause solo use them and swf not and its amazing change, no.

100 buffs wont help if your team suicide the moment they get hooked, miss all their skill checks on the first minutes or they just dont wanna help.

it's sad that we need to skip on good perks for a perk such as aftercare only because there are better perks, but suited more for swf and really make their gameplay easy.

my suggestion is to buff solo survivors, maybe even open for them extra perk slot to balance out.

  • @Yamaoka said:

Since you're on PC it could also be an issue with their connection to the dedicated servers. I've seen body models get stuck in that heal animations a couple times now and usually the clients lagged out but it takes a while for the actual body model of said client to get "kicked" out of the match. At least I think that's what it is.

hmmm but can it be same team 2 matches in a row?

also the person was in a living state after the collapse and then he decided to DC and only after that i had to wait almost 2 minutes to get thew match over

  • @Yamaoka said:

no she is funner to play against you missed the point entirely

people can counter with lots of perks.

Iron Will, Lightweight, Spine Chill, Urban Evasion, Dance with me, Small game, Premonition...

and ofc if shes not fun, you can always use the nurse or any other killer.

but to nerf her cause shes hard to play against? should she stay at one spot and wait till you all finish the gens and then run around you a bit so you will get the extra points for the chase? thats stupid.

ima spirit main and im so so as spirit - i still cant see the small grass everyone is talking about or always win a chase. people loop me around and i lose more then win.

As rank 7 spirit - i mostly get ranks 2-4 SWF... believe me they finish a match without even one death easy... so it all depends who plays spirit and against who the spirit plays.

yell nerf every time you don't like something and it isnt "FUN" is not the solution.

you can use other 16 different killers.

  • @arslaN said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/809350#Comment_809350

Going against nurse is much more enjoyable because you know what she is doing, where she is going etc. It's not about her strenght.

Constant coin flip chases against spirit is boring and unfun as hell

isnt that the whole point? you have to use brain to counter her! use different methods to avoid her - dont use same gameplay that you use against ALL other killers! find something new!

i know that to lose a match and waste time on it to de-rank sucks... but nerf a killer because you dont win and cant anticipate her every move? thats stupid. shes the only killer who counter SWF - sorry - cancerous stinky useless SWF.

i don't mind the nerf if ill get FILTER system :

( ) do you want to play against party with 3 or more? check the box

( ) do you want to play against all ranks? check the box

( ) do you want to play against 3 ranks above you and 2 blow you? check the box

if we get this filters, sure! nerf the hell out of her like they did with every killer people Q.Q about... till then, leave spirit alone (Britney spears style)

    endless reports

    Lol sure.
The game's always buggy and some have been in the game for a while now.
But they're certainly not doing little, you should look at the gigantic patch notes' lengths and the amount of patches.

write and do are different things.
i can write many things: i climbed the highest building with my bare hands and i upgraded my back with a pair of wings.. but in fact neither happen.
this is how it works here in DbD... people reported this bugs... anything happen since 2016? nada.
why? cause say and do are different things.

Yeah the tree one is a well known bug as well, just like the grass above the basement moving when you are walking in the basement.
The most annoying one for me on PS4, idk if it happens on other platforms, is when i run right after droping the pallet i crouch instead of running and stay like that for 2 or 3 seconds. That has got me killed several times.
Btw, in your last video why the hell the game says you died?

yap! something similar happens to me. sometimes i find myself in crouching position after i get hit while sliding the pallet. or if i was downed in crouching position and healed by team members, i get stuck in crouching position until i press crouch to release this.

It's a known bug, just don't do that again till they fix it.

thing is: no one ever will....

  • you know what... at first i would agree with you...
yesterday i got the same face camping killer twice!!! that was busy body blocking and then licking the hook your on till your dead... and same 3 SWF people who understood that we are up against the same killer...
they got captured and just died on the hook without any interest playing...
the killer was on Bloody Party Streamers... but still decided to camp instead of playing... so i just left the match so he wont get the points.... but one person left! and i decided to watch...
    here is what i seen:

When you leave spectate, to the menus, just tab over and back, ive noticed it as well but tabbing the pagss usually works for me. On console at least, where triggers control that.

Edit: Nevermind just saw the clip. No idea what thats about.

but you see this as well, right?
it happens every match for me! like each and every match! if i spectate - everything like options\report\check steam profile cant be pressed!
