I am not sure why people want to nerf perk to the ground. DS must work in the endgame. If you saved it -- you can use it.
Yes, I've been hit by DS in the EGC and the survivor escaped, but they paid the prize of one perk slot and got rewarded by playing it well. Why would I complain about that? It is fair.
I wish my Hex killer perks would get rewarded too but instead my NOED gets destroyed or they just abandon their hooked teammate as soon as they see I have NOED or just destroy my Hex Ruin or Devour Hope at the beginning of the game.
Funny how only survivors get to be rewarded by their perks.

I don't get people that try to go for a unhooked person in the endgame.
Like,Borrowed Time exists too.
Always chase the person that goes for the unhook.
Usually there is a reason a killer really wants that hooked survivor to die. Happens to me when the person I had hooked teabagged or whatever, I am not letting them go and a full 3 survivor swat team full of body blocking and flashlights is not gonna stop me (and never has).

But, you were the one that made that post, correct?
Wherein, you had no problem with, tunneling, cough cough...kill rushing???
Ironic...don't you think?
But, honestly losing 2 to 3 gens early is not the end of the game. Happens all the time, and you can still end up with 4ks 10 hooks with 2 gennys left.
What's ironic? You seriously comparing tunneling to gen rushing?
Somehow, me, going after the same guy to kill him, which not only takes time because not everyone sucks at chases and as I said, you can't do it right off the bat, and there are perks to counter said tuneling, is the same as 4 survivors spawning right next to a gen and keep M1 pressed until they win?
Me going through the effort to find, chase, kill, hook, wait for the unhook, chase again, wait for DS to expire or get stunned, chase again, kill, hook again, and repeat that a third time, is the same as survivors pressing M1 on a gen?
Also why wouldn't I tunnel when players are not punished over how many times they got hooked? In fact, getting hooked is rewarded since you bought your team time and then you give them points for altruism. If I don't kill someone I have 4 survivors doing gens, winning and teabagging. At least with tunneling I have to deal with 3 teabaggers.

or you could eat the stun early.
Except most people do that? And if they don't it's also completly valid since a 5 second stun and the player with DS who was in the dying state being back on the action and ready to do more gens is a pretty big deal.
Truth is, DS is not used against tunneling, it's just 60 seconds of invulnerability. so I just slug whoever I'm tunneling and count to 60 over their body.

Just run hatch offerings then. That way you don't have to worry about slugging and the last guy getting hatch. Also killing people baby killers just cause they don't want to slug for a 4k is kinda dumb. They probably didn't care enough to try and force out a 4k to a game that is already over. They would rather get on to the next game.
They are not baby killers for not caring about winning or losing, they are baby killers for patting themselves in the back because "H-hey, at least I k-killed 2 or 3 guys!". You didn't win the game as a killer if you didn't kill everyone. People who call their 2k or 3k winning are coping and there is no reason to cope at all since losing is not bad, so there is no need to disguise losing as winning.

@Clevite said:
Weren't you the one that made a gleeful post about tunneling someone out of the game.
So, what do you want survivors to do? Patiently wait for you to finish tunneling the first person before they move to another genny?
Kinda hard for me to tunnel someone at the beginning of the game when I'm not even near them, kinda hard to tunnel them at all until they first get unhooked.
Meanwhile survivors can finish 4 gens in 80 seconds right off the bat since they literally spawn right next to gens. My tunneling can't be done early game and doesn't make the game end any sooner, hell, it can completly backfire. Gen rushing can never backfire and it will always guarantee a win for at least one survivor.
-
@TheWarNung said:
Okay... I'm gonna guess from the fact that you have only 80 posts that you're not a massively experienced player. I could be wrong; either way it's fine.
The first thing to consider is that unless you're playing a strong killer with good regression perks you're almosy certainly going to lose some gens early on. That's perfectly acceptable. Killers start out weak with all 4 survivors healthy and all the pallets still up. As the game continues and you break pallets and exert pressure you'll get stronger. I can't even begin to count the number of matches I've seen from both roles where the killer loses 3-4 gens early and then stages a comeback.
As far as splitting up on gens go this is one of survivors' best tactics and it's a major blessing that so many teams don't realize this. Discordance is one of my favorite perks and the matches where it rarely goes off are by far my most stressful. It's not OP though, it's just smart gameplay and it can be countered.
As people have already said, the best strat is to make a 3-gen - that is to say, manipulate the match so that the final gens are all clustered together and easy to defend. You do this by using your game sense and information perks to figure out which gens are being worked on and deciding which ones you can give up and which ones you need to defend.
It's by no means easy and it takes practice and experience. Try to choose gens that are both close together and in areas where you've broken a lot of pallets. It's not foolproof, as it relies on your ability to catch survivors quickly and know when to commit to chase and when to break off and defend your gens. It is very doable though. It's easy to feel helpless when your opponents get good RNG or play well. Just keep your cool and do your murder thing and the rest will fall into place.
Why should I do the 3 gen strategy if the survivors can escape with a key? I was told the best way to play trapper was to do that, so I move all traps into an area with 3 gens together. I kill one guy, manage to make it impossible for the 3 survivors left to even touch a gen without stepping on a trap.
What happens? All 3 of them escape through the hatch right in front of me without having even touched a single one of the 3 gens.
So again, why even bother with that strategy when survivors don't even need that 1 final gen to win and completly ######### the killer's game?
-
@HuDawg said:
Killers are complaining because someone dced because he was slugging. I mean i dont necessarily blame the player for that you already won anyway. So go hooking survivors. What you are doing is extending the game for extra 4 mins.
I want to know whats the point for the killer to complain when a survivor dcs because they're slugged and the killer has won
If there are 2 survivors left and I'm slugging one of them to lure the other one in or find the hatch first so my 4k is not ruined by a ######### unfair mechanic then I sure as hell will be bothered if the slugged guy DCs, he just gave the win to the last survivor.
When the game has just 2 survivors left it just becomes a competition of who can let whom die first and they start trying to find the hatch. I don't wanna lose because the devs decide the final survivor, despite doing nothing but hiding all game, should be given the win anyway.
Any killer who doesn't wanna lose will slug, it's necessary. A killer only wins if he kills every survivor, I don't care if baby killers pat themselves in the head when they kill 2 or 3, that's not a win.

@WaveyTrey said:
Nah. As killer you always see WHERE the generators are first. There’s always 3-4 clustered together somewhere. As killer as long as you make it so there are 3 gens clustered together when 1 gen is left then the survivors are screwed... Unless the killer doesn’t apply enough pressure, makes critical mistakes, fails to snowball, etc. The game should pick up when there are less generators remaining on the map. When there is 1 gen left you need at least 1 person dead... If all 4 are alive by the time 2 gens remain you’re probably going to lose as killer unless you go for a snowball, or camp they die ⛺️. In Red Ranks I usually see 2-3 pop within 3 minutes. The last 2 can take like 10 minutes or even more sometimes. A killer can skip their way to the generators when they’re clustered, never giving survivors time to work on them. You’re not beating any efficient player with a mobile, or warping killer when there is a “Gen Triangle” left on the map. Billy, Oni (Rage), Spirit, Nurse, Blight, FREAKN HAG!!! Especially if they’re running Pop. 😂
Why should I bother protecting the last 3 remaining gens when as soon as I kill a survivor the hatch wil spawn and all 3 survivors remaining can escape with a key?

literally go cry about it with the other 20 killer mains who post ab this daily. use corrupt and discordance/tinkerer and unless you are genuinely the worst killer in the game, you should be able to pressure survivors off gens
It's sad how survivors feel so threatened when someone asks to make the game fair because you know if you didn't have an advantage you wouldn't win a single time.

And dont bring up Horror Movies. Otherwise, can we please remove moonwalking? Never seen a Horrormovie where the Killer was walking backwards.
It's not smart to end the game in 80 seconds, it's sad. Why even play this game if you want to have a queue that lasts longer than the actual game?

Just use the brilliant strategy you were bragging about earlier and simply tunnel. You seemed very proud of that.
Tunneling doesn't win games and I can't tunnel when the game begins and I hear 3 gens pop up. Securing a kill is neither fun nor does it make the killer win. It's nice for a bitter revenge since the survivors decided to screw the killer's fun by having the game end after 80 seconds but it also puts you at risk since 3 survivors left mean the hatch is there without them having to finish the last gen.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
Are you the same person complaining about why can survivors cancel an animation? Like letting go of a gen and calling it exploiting?
Yes, that's bullshit. I can't cancel picking someone up to avoid a flashlight save or pallet stun. I can't cancel breaking a pallet neither.
So why can Survivors cancel unhooking people so they don't get grabbed? If I make a mistake while picking up someone that took me hours to kill I get the SWAT team and it's bye to the kill, yet if a survivor starts unhooking someone in front of the killer they can just stop pressing M1 and they won't get grabbed. Teleporting around and cancelling animations it's exploiting game mechanics.
@n0suchluck said:
This is a ridiculous complaint. Those survivors are most likely coordinated and the more you rank up, the more you will see it. My suggestion is to run perks that slow down the game. Especially with a killer like trapper that takes time setting up. Or run a killer that puts more pressure on the survivors.
Imo, to be a good killer in this game is to be good at pressuring survivors. Know when to break off chases to scare off survivors on gens etc. You got to learn from good survivors and adapt
I usually end up with 4k, don't tell me to get better. It's still infurating and demoralizing to have 3 gens pop up by the time you get your first hook. Why even keep playing when those 3 gens being done means if I kill 2 survivors the hatch is already there for the other 2 to leave? In what concerns them, they finished the game already, and in 80 seconds. A player should not have to tryhard or be afraid of a magic door on the floor if he wants to have fun.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Why should it not possible to do that? Like, Survivors are human players as well. And they also have a brain. So how do you want to prevent them from splitting up, if this is the most efficient thing to do?
By making it inefficient? As I said, it's bullshit that it's even a thing in game. In what kindof horror movie the characters survive by splitting up? I'm talking about how it's unfair and that survivors come and act like it's not a problem to be able to do 4 gens (80% of the match) in 80 seconds.
The game should reward teamwork, not have slow killers and big maps so you hear 3 gens pop by the time you get your first hook and then, surprise, there was no late game to snowball in because they all escaped through the hatch.

Where are these efficient survivors? Not in my matches. The lack of blood points and capping at three or so and being the only one in the game doing them is more bullshit.
They are in every single one of my killer matches to the point I just consider DC/ing if I am playing as trapper, placed two traps and then hear 3 tinkerers trigger at once.
@ggezbaby said:
why can’t you find them if they’re on gens in the corner of the map? check the gens on the corners of the map.
Didn't know checking them made the generator progress regress and have the survivors instakilled.
You have to 1. Find them 2. Chase them 3. Hook them
In that time, a gen is bound to pop, and in the case you manage to hook someone when 0 gens have been done, you have to also get to the other side of the map
I don't care if you don't play killer or only play as Nurse, I am not Flash I can't get across the whole map at the speed of light. Each gen done means the hatch is closer to spawning and the survivors can get the F out whenever they feel like it after teabagging the killer. Each hook I do is meaningless because it applies no penalty to the survivors and even if I kill one the rest of the team can still escape.

I don't know why people get upset at BT being used to tank a hit. Frankly, I think it's a bad play most of the time. but if you can prevent a down with BT, then by all means do so. Having that deep woulds effect just guarantees the killer got something out of it anyway. Because you can ignore being injured to do a generator - but you can't ignore Deep Wounds.
Because survivors don't get to use BT to counter camping AND then "SURPRISE" they never cared about camping to begin with and just wanted to take advantage of invulnerability to do as they please, be it gens, totems, locker stuns, flashlights saves, etc.
If you're being camped, you should get the F out as soon as you're rescued. If you're using that BT invulnerability to unhook others, stop gen regression, bait the killer, take hits for others, etc then there was no camping.
-
Nemesis was never iconic. RE3 is literally the least popular game of the franchise, even the remake did poorly.
-
@IWasLeft2Die said:
Personally I think BT should needs a major overhaul in a few ways
1. Survivors at base get BT effect for 3 seconds to discourage tunneling and works without a perk
2. BT current effect is decreased to 10 seconds cap and only active at EGC.
3. Separate new perk that allows 7 extra seconds (so 10 total) prior to EGC.
Right now BT has way to much utility that it being a nearly must have perk indicates it needs changes (similar to how DS was). Having one perk with this much power, active the entire game, and has no killer counterplay (not everything needs a counter but this should have something)
Not sure if this is a thing or not but I'd like a ptb to try out instant downs as canceling BT. Not saying it should go live but I'd like to see how it goes.
Why do survivors want BT for free so bad? What perk are you running that is so important you can't replace with BT? Survivors are already invulnerable while they are being unhooked to the point hitting them RIGHT before they can start moving can completly make you lose the game. And you want that for 3 extra seconds?
Surv scum really want those safe hook points super bad don't they?

Had several matches in a row in the mid teen rank with abusive survivors.
Not just abusive in post chat, but abusing game mechanics.
example: One unhooks, the unhooked BT Bodyblocks, a 3rd one pallet stuns, and a 4th bodyblocks the final chase to the exit. All of this within 20sec. THEN they get to post chat and, to quote: "Aww, Wittle Baby Killer Gonna Cry?"
BTW, these guys were supposedly rank 20 . . .
THIS is why you have no killers and queue times suck. Fix the abusable mechanics and you won't have survivors in the absolute pinnacle of the power dynamic. things like 99%ing the gates, BT bodyblocking (I was trying to hit the unhooker, not the unhooked), survivors having priority of movement resulting in survivors shoving killers to the side when they are chasing someone else, the list goes on.
Killers already have the most stressful part of this game, having to keep track of who is where, who got unhooked when, which generators are being worked on, which hooks are still up, where the pallets are, where they've been dropped, which pallets have been destroyed, which survivor is running with which exhaustion perks, location of hatch, location of exit gates, how long since each survivor has used their exhaustion perks, cooldown on power/ammo, cooldown of perks, locations of lockers, which totems are still up, and where are they.
Add the heavily survivor sided mechanics and SWF and it's WAY too much for new and casual killers to manage. Please revisit these mechanics to balance out the game.
And yes, I did DC from that last match, taking a break for a couple hours to cool off. These survivors today seem to have VERY toxic attitudes and playstyles. Frat BOYS like that should be playing beer pong, not tormenting people that are trying to play a GAME.
That actually sounds funny. Body blocking and protecting teammates is not abusing mechanics. I am going to say using BT to protect others is bullshit, the perk is meant to be to help someone escape if the killer is camping, not for 12 seconds of invulnerability to do as you please. People with BT can jump right back on gens
-
I wouldn't know. I always make it a point to focus whoever teabags and face camp them. They always proceed to rant at the end of the game and when you call them out on being toxic they say stuff like "Teabagging is not toxic", so eh, I have fun making them seethe and derank.
Other than that I always teabag as Ghostface.
-
Eh, a DLC with two survivors will be more expensive. And I'm not sure they actually care about the character being iconic, or they would have picked Harry Mason or James instead of Cheryl of all people.
Since they want to ride on RE8 hype, chances are it will be Ethan and Lady Dimitrescu.
Nemesis and Mr X were already done in RE: Resistance and would be literally the same copy and paste character even in powers in DbD which would be outright lazy and embarrassing.
I just hope it's not a female survivor, and Nemesis is overdone. The protagonists of RE have always been Chris and Leon, dunno why people keep pushing Jill who had just one game or Claire of all people who nobody cared about until the remake (And even in the remake Leon tries to save the world while Claire plays babysitter)

Killers, if you see a survivor struggling, and clearly clueless, they’re probably new, give ‘em some slack. Don’t tunnel or camp them. Give them a fair go.
Survivors, if you see a baby killer only manage their very first down after 4 gens have popped, perhaps DON’T flash a torch into their face, or body block a hook.

3 survivor on a gen take 38s, 4 take 36. Try again.
Not with toolboxes and prove thyself.
4 survivors with just prove thyself is 25 seconds.
If you think in 25 seconds (Less with even a single toolbox) a gen should be completed then cry me a river when I camp and tunnel the ######### out of those survivors. Specially because if they complete 2 more gens and I kill two of those survivors the remaining two can just escape through the hatch.
When I see someone with a key I outright make their game the most unenjoyable experience ever since that's exactly what they wanted to do to me.

This. This is what is wrong with the game. It is the survivors fault that the killer couldn't find them until 3 gens are done.
How very dare they? Obviously this is every match too. If it wasn't for those pesky survivors....
Not my fault most killers can't cover the whole map super fast. Just had a match as trapper, I started walking 2 steps and I hear tinkerer trigger on the opposite side of the map. What am I supposed to do? Nurse teleport there? As trapper? Didn't even have time to set a trap before they did a gen already.
If you are going to abuse big maps and how fast you can do gens then of course i'm gonna tunnel and camp, why wouldn't I when it's the only way I have to at least assure I have some fun and not end up the game with 0 hooks and teabagged at the exit.
-

That's just cancelling an action. There's nothing wrong with that. It's not an exploit.
Killers look down at pallets all the time in order to fake they are going to animation lock into breaking the pallet, then break off and get an easy chase instead. Sure, they never cancelled an action, but they faked it in order to gain the same benefit. That's not unfair either.
I'm gonna assume you're trolling and your analogy is seriously not "cancelling animation is the same as faking something".
-
@Awakey said:
You got baited. This is perfectly valid.
For the unhook, just hit the survivor coming off the hook. EZ down.
For gens, the injure is all you need. The chase will be drastically shorter if they're already one hit.
Git gud.
Bugging animations should not be a game mechanic. If you teleport in front of the hooked survivor and start doing the unhooking animation you should be grabbed. Dropping M1 shouldn't teleport you back to your place and make you immune. The killer can't keep pressing space to cancel and do again the hook animation so he can carry the survivor forever and they can't wiggle off. So why survivors can switch from being grabbed to being hit by just stop pressing M1 when they already started the animation of an action.
-
Do you wanna turn the killer's weapon into a balloon animal too?
-
I always find it funny how it's always the same people who use and defend the existance of the hatch the ones that cry about NOED being unfair. Like... you don't even let the killer play when the gates are powered, you just either leave as a team with a key or let your teammates die to leave alone through the hatch.
Why a perk that requires all gens to be completed causes such an outroar when survivors love bringing a key or finding one in a match and then just leave before finishing the objectives.
-
I once played a game as Ghostface and at the end of the match I thought of saying that phrase from Scary Movie "Wasssaaaaaaaap" on the chat and 2 other survivors replied with the same. It was pretty funny.
Other than that I play Ghostface the most of all killers because I can teabag on survivors dying on the floor.
-
They need to just increase gen repair time. Specially if the survivor is doing it alone. It's bullshit that in 80 seconds 3 gens can pop at the same time. And then 2 other survivors can do 2 other gens and that's it, they won.
Make it like 240 seconds if alone and 80 if 3 survivors are working on the same one. Game should encourage survivors to work together, not "hey let's split up since we're faster doing gens on our own". In what kind of horror movie survivors WIN by spitting up?
Most killers can't cover the whole map and since they refuse to remove the hatch there is no such thing as snowballing or late game because survivors can just find the hatch and leave as a team without having to finish all gens.

SWF has a reputation that it doesn't deserve. Good coordination won't help if you're playing a very good killer. No amount of discord nitro will help you out-loop a good nurse.
As for adding a casual queue, the queue times wouldn't change much, but the issue is competitive players going into casual queues to 1) troll 2) grind. If we make it so that casual games don't reward points, then you prevent them from unlocking new perks and getting better at the game. If you do, it pretty much becomes Manor Farm.
Unbelivable a killer has to tryhard instead of having fun and chill (and kill).
I shouldn't have to be " a good nurse" if I wanna counter 3 flashlights + 1 key + pallet stuns while carrying a survivor + everyone leaves through the hatch before the final gen is even done.

survivors shouldn't hv to do 5 totems just to get rid of one perk
Why not? What are you so busy doing that you can't do totems? Certainly not gens because each one takes just 80 seconds. 40 between two people. If you have the time to rush gens and end the game in 3 minutes you have the time to clean totems.
