    🤣🤣

I actually feel sorry for the Devs for once, having to read through pointless reports about in-game mechanics that aren't even ban-able.

    Stay mad.

I dunno, unsportsmanlike conduct is a report option. I think everyone would agree not playing the game is unsportsmanlike.

  • @Benno101 said:

If I load in with a killer with a build I hate, I will kill myself on first hook as soon as I can. Be mad about it.

And i will continue to report you for doing so.

Forcing someone to play out a match they don't want to isn't enjoyable. At that point, might as well uninstall the game.

Nor is this action bannable. As much as you and others may dislike it.

    It be like that.

So why does CS:GO not let you do that? Why does DotA not let you do that? I'd argue in those games it would be more acceptable because they can last an hour or more. DBD generally won't last much more than 10 minutes.

  • What he describes is literally a different scenario. Hes saying like, the game is nearly over, everyone's been on the hook multiple times and there are 4 gens left. I'm talking about situations where someone immediately kills themselves because they were the first downed. He even LITERALLY calls that out by saying "immediately giving up the first time you go down is one thing" Which tells me devs agree with my position. So thanks for sharing that.

  • @zkelvln said:

The difference is that Cowboy has a 24m terror radius(16 with Monitor and abuse) and pyramid has 32m. Thats why they have different movement speed.

I'll give you that, but i'd say that's part of Deathslinger's power. He has a shorter terror radius, very long range, and gives Deep wounds. His weaknesses are that survivors can break through the chain, and he's a 110% killer and he has only 1 shot before he reloads.

Pyramid head has the cages so he can dodge DS/deliverance etc. He has a ranged attack that is less range than deathslingers but it goes through walls, doesn't have to reload. He also gets Killer instinct on the trails and still gets to keep the 115% movement speed.

My point is that Pyramid Head just seems like a much better deathslinger. Similar to how freddy is basically a much better clown because his power is very similar but he also can teleport to gens and has the wakeup/dreaming stuff.

  • @sekkima said:

In fact I see it more balanced, he warns you when he is going to use his power and gives you time to react, with Deathslinger this does not happen.

Try watching some streams from Otz or True who are streaming right now. Otz was playing some survivor and i can promise you, the warning for dodging it is about the same as deathslingers.

in order to DISCONNECT from dead by daylight you must hit escape, which takes you out of the match (your character stops moving and doesn't do anything) then you click a button that says leave match. this is OUT OF MATCH FUNCTIONALITY. it was put there to END games where the EGC and other things could prevent the game from ending on it's own. the game gives you the option to 1) try to get off the hook and 2) to struggle against the entity or not. those are options presented in the match.

Hitting esc and disconnecting is part of the menu which part of the game i'd argue, but i see your point. But my point still stands. DotA and LoL and CS:GO ban you if you die on purpose. it's just as punishing to do so for your whole team as it is in DBD, so Why not DBD?

  • @Freki said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1305218#Comment_1305218

so we are going to punish those who get hooked and have no one coming to get them for even trying to get off the hook to continue working towards getting out? and then make everyone hit their space bar? I laugh at there.. guess what! the new killer puts you in a cage and you can ONLY sit there waiting, hitting skill check after skill check if your team doesn't get you out of there! you can't free yourself, you can't do anything but WAIT hahahahhahahah enjoy your time.. I personally think it's great that people have a way out of a match through IN MATCH MEANS. I think the killer should have the same treatment and have some place he can go and give up as AFKing is against the terms and rules.

you may think it's stupid but it keeps the chance of getting off the hook, as well as the chance to mess up making it harder for your team because you screwed up. all sounds normal to me for games with skill and chance!

Again, its a team based game. Why should you be able to leave a game just because you're team is bad. Thats not how ANY OTHER MULTIPLAYER GAME WORKS EVER. Name even a single multiplayer team-based game that lets you leave, or feed/suicide, or otherwise hinder your team without punishing you for it. I promise you, such a game doesn't exist, and if it does it's not worth playing. If you can't handle being on a hook, or being in the cage, maybe you are playing the wrong game.

yes lets tell someone to use out of match functionality which is the definition of CHEATING.... let's berate someone for doing something that can get them back in the fight! the DEVS have stated the dc's are down 35%, first hook dying is NOT substantially increased. please move along!

Dont worry bro the devs will happily nerf him after they get everyones money. This game isnt pay to win, its pay to get shafted. and all it takes is survivor mains crying in the forums to big daddy devs. They always listen

Thats a big disingenuous don't you think? Deathslinger wasn't OP when he came out and then nerfed.

    I'll add to the list.

Getting an MG42 team overrun in Company Of Heroes 2 and having the decrewed HMG stolen and used against my team.

Having my flamethrower fuel tank shot in Day Of Infamy and the resulting explosion wiping my team.

Firing an RPG in an enclosed space in Rising Storm 2 and having the backblast gib my entire squad. Or a napalm canister landing a bit too short because of bad trajectory and it ends up hurtling over the point, landing directly onto my team, immolating 20 teammates and getting me auto-kicked and temp-banned for teamkilling before I can even be forgiven since there was THAT many teamkills in such a short timespan. I've had it happen with the vietcong artillery too since it has stupid high inaccuracy and even a "Safe" mark can result in a stray shell landing on some teammates. I've had recon planes shot down land on peoples heads too and it counted as a teamkill.

Basically incompetence or honest mistakes shouldn't be punishable. (Although I'll admit I laughed a few times when some of these happened.)

Intentionally suiciding on the hook, failing skill checks on purpose, (Not that it can really be proven) bodyblocking other survivors to hold them hostage, ratting out people in lockers, and working with the killer to get other survivors killed falls under griefing IMHO.

I still think hook suiciding shouldn't be outright bannable off the bat but it's definitely unsportsmanlike.

IMHO intent matters. We shouldn't ban/punish Dweet because he can't hit skillchecks, but we should definitely punish Nea running Object Of Obsession, luring the killer to teammates with it trying to get everyone killed, and bodyblocking survivors until they DC so she can get that sweet, sweet purple flashlight Baby Dweet found from a chest.

Unsportsmanlike is literally a possible report offense.

I have started reporting people who hook suicide on purpose, not sure if anything is done about it but devs haven't made it clear yet what their stance is on it.

I don't care if it isn't increased. I care that it even exists. Even before DC penalty, the idea of it is dumb. Why should you be allowed to nope out of the game for any reason as a survivor (killer can't BTW) and ruin the game for 4 other people?

You can still just hook normally. Pyramid Head does the same when it comes to the Hook Mechanic as every other Killer AND he has a Bonus. So nothing is lost.

The problem is you typically need some way to know where to go next after a hook. BBQ and thrilling are great for that. Some killers have their power they can use. But this guy has neither. He gets a hook then wanders around because you don't know where the next group of survivors is.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Right but it effectively eliminates half his power

All the good slowdown perks involve hooking or picking up a survivor

    Pop

    Thrilling

    BBQ

Ruin is useless now especially since it buffs the new survivor perk that everyone will run. Thana is useless on him he won't get lots of injures. Overcharge is a joke. Corrupt still works but only lasts the early game. Based on his power he can't apply onhit effects with it.

So what's this guy's build gonna be? He has none.

The killer has a built in mori, built in DS counter and can completely ignore pallets and hit through walls. You're aware they have to BALANCE new content, right?

The Mori is only on death hook. I wouldn't count that as part of it. But when half of the killers power makes 2 of the most reliable perks in the game useless it's concerning, yeah.

  • @Peanits said:

If I recall correctly (but please try it for yourself just to be safe), sending someone to a cage does not activate hook perks. You'll have to decide if you want to immediately send them to a cage or carry them to a hook to activate your hook perks.

They do, however, mix and match. If you hook someone once and send them to the cage the next time, then the next time you down them it'll count as them being on death hook and allow you to use the mini-mori if they have torment.

That's disappointing. Without pop it might be a rough time. With Ruin being gone pop is the only reliable way to slow gens and this killer has no map pressure.

On top of that not getting the bloodpoint bonus feels bad man.

  • @Chordyceps said:

I view it as more of an anti-slugging/anti-tunneling perk. Chances are if someone's left on the ground for extended periods of time, it's either the last 2 people alive, or the killer is waiting out a D-strike they think might be coming. You can avoid this perk entirely if you just hook the person instead of slugging them, and if they have D-strike, it really is best to burn that sooner rather than later.

This mentality is amazing. First we get told "just slug the DS" now we can't even do that anymore. Good job.

also white ward still don't work as intented

stop catering to killers thx , for 2 years now all you have done is catering to them , they are no longer victims of anything outside of themselves being bad at the game

Because you still haven't figured out that lose and loose are two different words.

  • 3 games in a row now as survivor and the first person to be downed immediately hook suicided for no reason. 3 of us on a gen in other part of the map, one gen even popped while they were doing it in 2 games. This needs to stop. And in the third game we completed 2 1/2 gens before the first down and they still did it.

Well may I ask what would you want done then? I'm not lying when I say I've never really had a problem with it before when I play solo survivor.

I won't hook suicide unless it's for a good reason and I'd say many more are like this. I'm not afraid of any killer so no reason to do it there. Don't hate a map that much that I'd do it either. Faced ever add-on in the game a 100 times over so I don't worry about them.

Yet if I have a 3 minute chase and no gens are popped your telling me it's worth staying in the game? I'll never dc and I always make sure to give the killer their bbq stack and hook points out of respect.

Maybe the solution to stop hook suicide is to play swf?

I want them to ban people for doing it, probably also remove struggling so it can't even be done.

  • @clem1710 said:

Why didn't you nerf SWF teams already? Using voice comms is unfair and it's breaking the game. Swf players should have a repair speed penalty, depending on how big is the group. Or at least give killers a BP bonus when playing against swf. Nothing can counter 4 competent survivors on comms.

You don't fix SWF by nerfing them. you fix SWF by buffing solos with a few things like giving them bond/kindred as base kit. Give them a totem counter to see how many totems are up and then buffing killers to compensate. The only way to do this is to buff solos to close the gap a little then balance the game around it. Otherwise, if they nerf SWF, then you are punishing people who want to play with their friends. If you balance around SWF, then nobody will want to play the game solo. You need to buff solos, and balance around SWF.

This game is far from Balanced. It's a lot harder to play Survivor now. Majority of Killers run Nurses, Sloppy Butcher, Thanataphobia & BBQ & Chilli. Problem is they shrunk the maps, made gens slower, removed a lot of pallets & took away safer Windows. So with killers running these perks it takes forever to heal up and even do gens. I feel like the game is catered to the high end PC players that go against SWF every game. They only look at stats, they aren't bothered by what's actually happening in games majority of the time. I'm lucky to get 1 escape in an hour lately since the recent map changes and i'm Rank 1 survivor...not that i'm bothered for pips etc..but it's crazy how they made so many changes to the maps to support the killer and i'm happy with the smaller maps, but removing pallets and windows before they even fix being hit through pallets etc..is crazy. So now if we're even lucky to find pallets because they're harder to find now, even if we drop it in time we're still getting smacked through them. Not to mention the buggy window vault hits that are broken.

Even if camping is a tactic and people say "JUST DO GENS" it's not that simple...most of the time if you don't know the person they're gonna get mad you aint coming to save them so they throw on hook, but if you play with someone you know then you're going to try and save them because you also don't want them to die and get mad you didn't save them. Then Killer complain about SWF's? Then after all the camping and gens are done, here's NOED...but wait, just do bones? Sure so the time is takes for someone to be camped on a hook we're supposed to get 5 gens done on much smaller maps and cleanse 6 totems so NOED doesn't spawn...

Don't even get me started on 1 shot mechanics with the way the maps are right now it is a total joke. Dead zones everywhere.Broken Pallets & Windows. I think a Distressing Doc can cover a whole map with his static blast, FREE BBQ & CHILLI!!!

I'm all for Killers having the power role in this game it's the way it should be. But I really can't see any of your logic behind wanting to Nerf Survivors even more...

What you said is partially true. This game SHOULD be balanced around the highest level SWF gameplay. Every game should be balanced around the highest level play. However, in the top level play it is still clear that survivors have an advantage. Although with the previous changes that advantage is much lessened.

What needs to be done to fix this game is to give solo survivors the same power as SWF. And that power is information. When playing in a SWF, discord basically gives you the following perks for free:

    • Aftercare
    • Alert (you know where broken pallets are)
    • Babysitter
    • Better Together
    • Bond
    • Buckled up (at least half of the perk)
    • Empathy
    • Kindred
    • Open Handed (effectively infinite range on all your "perks" from discord)
    • Wake up!

That's 10 perks for free. On top of getting things that perks can't give you such as:

    • Communicating how many totems are left
    • Communicating the exact position of hex totems you saw
    • Communicating what perks the killer has ("hey he has pop, he broke a pallet fast he has brutal" etc.)
    • Knowing exactly when a chase starts and when you can safely do gens
    • Knowing exactly what killer it is as soon as someone spots them
    • Knowing the position of the killer most of time (worse with Object of Obsession)
    • Being able to communicate hook saves.
    • Knowing the exact progress of all the generators being worked on
    • The list goes on and on

The way they fix this game is by giving more information to solo survivors. Do the following:

    • Survivors now see the aura of all other survivors are at all times with unlimited distance.
    • Kindred is now baseline for all survivors (also helps with camping)
    • Survivors get an icon that shows when they are being chased
    • Add a totem counter to the UI
    • Rebalance/fix/rework all of the perks this effects to do something else.
    • Make WGLF baseline, for Bloodpoints (i'd argue the bloodpoint bonus for BBQ should also be baseline)

Now buff killers to compensate. This brings solo players more in line with SWF and closes the gap more. So now killers don't feel so helpless against SWF depip squads, and survivors don't feel so helpless when playing solo.

  • @Primalux135 said:

Now all killers have two modes:

Patrol mode: Killer movement speed becomes 130% (could be less or more according balance). Killers are on this mode while they arent on chase.

Chase mode:Killers will have the same speed as now.

Why killers go slower on chase mode? Cuz thry have to please entity so p"laying with their food" would amuze The Entity.

It would make killers to be able to have more presence in map.

The way you fix SWF is by giving solos more information. They should just make things like bond/kindred and a few other information perks baseline. Give survivors a totem counter. Then balance the game around that information. You can't nerf SWF. The best way to do it is to buff solos and then buff killers to compensate.

Please do something, give survivor a black pip and a penalty to the killer. Same for survivor for sure, if they go afk for the whole match. This is not a discussion about seeing what items survivor bring, this is about usernames only.

I'm trying to figure out the reasoning behind making killers see our names in lobbies. Looped a killer and escaped? Next time I'm gonna get tunneled or morried, and the excuse of reporting killers that target a certain survivor doesn't work since I can't report him for morrying or tunneling me now unless I bait him tinto saying in chat that he only wanted me.

Another situation is playing against the same killer multiple times that he recognizes what perks I run, If I don't have ds he knows and I will get tunneled to death, knows I have unbreakable so I don't get slugged. (Middle East DBD is a small community, I can play against the same killer multiple times in a day)

Are there any other reasons why killers can see survivor's names?

But if they hide names I can't name myself "Mori me daddy Myers" and have the killer play Myers.

    How did you do it?

You usually can if survivors cleanse. But if they don't you're gonna 1 pip. They really should make it so if plague hits a survivor with max infection that it counts as "2 hits" for the purposes of bloodpoints and emblems.

Ok lets find other examples of your teammates not helping you in dbd.

    1. Opening exit door when it's not safe to do so.
    2. Camping exit door while someone is getting chased or on the hook.
    3. Dropping a pallet when the killer is chasing someone else.
    4. DC for any reason.
    5. Self-caring instead of helping your team while killer has exposed status effect.
    6. Doing nothing while someone is getting chased.

Team based games where you don't always help your team and don't get banned.

    1. Friday the 13th (escaping ahile your team isn't safe)
    2. Any battle game (not following your team which can hurt them in fights)
    3. Leaving in non competitive modes

If I kill myself on the hook it's for a good reason. Also if I see 3 urban users in 1 game unless they are just running a meme build we probably aren't escaping that game lol

The problem is, most of those things you listed are just people playing badly. You don't punish people for playing badly. I can make a similar list for CS:GO

    1. Teammate took the bomb to an unsafe area and died leaving the bomb exposed
    2. Teammate shoots/team kills you
    3. Running and giving away your team's position to the enemy
    4. Spending your money on save rounds or saving money on buy rounds.
    5. Body blocking a teammate an preventing them from getting out of line of fire.
    6. Flashing your own team
    7. Putting a smoke in a spot that benefits the enemy

All of these things are bad plays but aren't bannable because being bad at a game isn't bannable. but DCing, teamkilling, or suiciding is because it fundamentally ruins the game for everyone else in a way that is not just "playing badly". It's intentional. You are intentionally ruining the game for other people. CS:GO has just as many ways a teammate can screw you over that DbD does, but they still ban you for suiciding or feeding or dcing form a game.

If a teammate does those above things, it doesn't give you the right to ruin the game for everyone else. I'd also argue for CS:GO it's worse because games last much longer than in DbD. At least in DbD if a teammate screws you over games generally end in less than 10 minutes. Matches in CS:GO can last 45 minutes or longer. And even still they ban you for it.

"NOPE'ING" from a match is common in ALL online video games. it is just part of the Online Culture. Cause = Effect.

I don't remember this game having drastic issues of abandonment before 2019 started. Then the influx just happened around "certain patches". Where the problems spiraled out of control.

Game companies that bust players for every facet of minor-negative infractions eventually go Under or less people come to play the game daily. If your team mate leaves the match. They are a bad person. If your team mate dies on the hook. There is zero difference. They are eliminated from the match either way.

The effect should be looked at less, and the Cause should be looked at MORE. With the shift of online gaming culture and player attitude towards a game. Generally this means that the shift of respect has gone away from the game or the players around them. Hence why quality of matches are going DOWN. Instead of UP.

    -----

If I was to look at this from a Social aspect. VS what a person thinks they see. I would see this as an Issue where something has changed in the game and has directly caused players to behave this way MORE, now in the past year. Than it has before. 2018 and 2017 this game was at its prime. I LOVED this game to its fullest and really had an amazing time.

2019 through into 2020. I dont like this game. But would LOVE to play what this game was in 2018 and 2017 again. Heck. i'd even BUY into being able to play that way again. I had ALOT OF fun and would be MORE than happy to spend mindless hours again in my life. PLAYING all day, again.

AS for the "why" I dont. I've said it before. But the answer itself will become VERY apparent just by discovery in itself.

"Why is your team mate taking the easy way out from the hook? and that shall be your answer.

I'm not arguing that it's not a common problem in other games. It is, that is why most other games punish and ban you for doing it.

While I was reading yet another NOED thread an idea popped into my head. There has been talk for a long while about solo getting the bone when it comes to how many bones are left vs swf. Just slapping a counter in the hud would be boring and just lazy. What if there was an in game counter, say in the killer shack perhaps that shows how many are left. It could be something like the game logo hauntingly lit up on the wall. Every time a totem gets done one of the slashes quits glowing. What do you guys think? Fair compromise without just blatantly handing out info in the hud or ridiculous idea not even worth the effort?

I think this is fine, but they really need to rework the entire totem/hex system tbh.

The way hexes should work is that you have to cleanse all 5 totems, and their power is dependent on how many totems are left. That way they aren't able to instantly be cleansed in a match and be completely useless, nor last the whole game because you can't find that last totem and be completely OP.

No, I'm not going to say 'Freddy beats me so therefore hE's OvErPoWeReD'.

I want to discuss how his current power has killed another killer: The Clown.

In todays meta, the Clown is almost non existent, why? Because Freddy exists. This has lead to less diversity as Freddy does what Clown does, but doesn't need to reload at all and he can teleport on top of that.

Now, there's a few ways to fix this: Buff Clown to a whole new extent; or just simply remove Freddy's snares.

Slowing survivors down SHOULD be unique to Clown only, and Freddy being able to do this has reduced Clown's usage considerably. I personally believe the devs should remove Snares from Freddy, and the clown issue would sort itself out. Make Dream pallets base, and rework some addons so they fit better.

Or how else would you guys make Clown return into the meta, while also getting rid of the Freddy complaints? That's my solution which I think is best for removing complaints and bringing Clown back.

This is just a "nerf freddy" thread in disguise.

I’m was excited to come back and experience the two new killers and survivors I’ve missed after a long break, but one of the new changes (In patch 3.60) got me worried.

Loosing add-ons from an item you escape with doesn’t feels physically right and leads me to the question of “Why do I keep the item but not the things in it…?”, it just doesn’t smell right y’a know? This logical inconsistency isn’t the key issue however.

The key issue is that this again increases the disparity in bloodpoint economy between survivor & killer. This is a common trend in the game where killer is incentivized with better economy.

Firstly, killer in the average match gets more points than survivor.

Secondly and most obviously, Barbecue & Chilli has a relevant use and ‘We’re Gunna Live Forever’ has no use. That and Barbecue & Chilli is more reliable to gain stacks on.

Finally, this effect is exaggerated by survivor having 17 items, 55 add-ons & 47 offerings where as killer has 45 offerings and max 20 add-ons. This means survivor has ~twice as many bloodwebs to search through to get what they want if looking for specific things.

Let’s say I take in a yellow flashlight and a yellow & green add-on as survivor vs taking in a purple & a pink add-on as Huntress (You know what I’m on about). For survivor I escape, getting 17000 bloodpoints in the average game and I loose the add-ons (9000 points) to net me 8000 bloodpoints. As Huntress I may get 27000 bloodpoints, 4 stacks of B&C and I loose the add-ons (13000 points) to net me 41000 bloodpoints. Now add this to the fact that those add-ons are twice as rare for survivor than as killer and that means that that specific build for survivor costs ~9 times more games than as Huntress… As a previous Huntress main this fact makes me very happy ;3

I believe this effect is unhealthy for the game, especially since this add-on change reduces the reward you get from escaping and incentivises more players to loop the killer and take agro vs doing the objective (that being generators).

To combat this I believe just one of the four things bellow could be done:

Increases the overall average amount of bloodpoints survivor gains.

Have 3 bloodpoint farming perks for each side & give WGLF a use such as combining it with the effects of Metal of Man. (Make sure that one of each is available without DLC for both killer & survivor as well as ensuring they cannot stack). This may also give you a change to make irrelevant perks like ‘No One Left Behind’ & ‘Beast of Prey’ slightly relevant.

Give survivors a way to recycle their items for maybe 10% for their bloodweb value (This also allows survivors to clean their inventories).

Reverse the add-on changes in patch 3.60, keeping add-ons for an escape but give the killer a change to keep an add-on for a 4-K just as a token of good will to the killers.

To conclude, I think this change is a mistake and has on overall negative impact on the game, increasing negative behaviours Behaviour doesn’t like. I don’t think it does what Behaviour wants and this oversight with ‘White Ward’ not preserving add-ons for survivor just shows they haven’t properly through through the change.

I hope some of what I said has an impact,

Like half the games I've had recently have had the killer use an Ebony Mori. (And one other game with a secret offering, but it was just a shroud of separation. But I'm pretty sure all us thought it was an ebony, because we all played extremely stealthy. Felt kind of bad for the killer afterward because he only got one hook.)

Now, I'm not complaining about their power here. But for something that's supposed to be 'very rare', it doesn't seem like it's very rare at all. Maybe killers need some other Iri stuff to get, so they don't get just Ebony Mori's all the time. Maybe Iri Map Offerings that override all other map offerings? (Meaning the killer gets the map of their choice guaranteed, no matter what the survivors offer). Maybe an Iri Offering that is basically tier 1 of Ruin (but not a hex)? Then they don't have to kick gens. Just some ideas here. I feel like there definitely should be some more iri offerings for killers though.

I have seen a huge spike in key usage, in my last 5 games 4 of them brought a key into the game. When i see keys, i bring a mori.

Just saying if I get hooked and see 3 urban players then I'm getting out of that game lol

You are the problem. Just because your team is bad doesn't give you the right to leave them. Name any other teambased game that allows this. You can't do it because none of them do.

    No.

Encouraging other people to DC isn't the correct way to go.

It is the correct way to go. if they are that mad they can DC and take the penalty that comes along with it. Even 2 DCs put you on a timeout for what 20-30 minutes right now?

  • If you compare it to DotA or league which both ban you for leaving public unranked games but not private ones its the same thing DbD just doesn't have an unranked mode, but it does have private matches that you can come and go as you please in.

So i was thinking... what if on the PTB the new characters (only the new ones) would already be lvl 50 and have every perk so you can try out different combos and experiment with some stuff? I get that there's custom game but some people either don't have enough friends to fully test everything out or their friends never play dbd like mine. What are YOUR opinions on this?

TBH i don't know why they don't just unlock everything for everyone on PTB, the point is to test things, but if you can't get everything you can't test things properly. Any other game gives everyone everything on the test servers so they can do just that... test.

  • @sulaiman said:

Starcraft too. You leave the match and you are fine to go.

Incorrect. In matches with teammates you can be punished (maybe not now? but its basically a dead game). In a 1v1 it doesn't matter, you just lose the game and your opponent wins.

Every since I came back to DBD after an about 3 month break I gotta say. This lets just do gens infront of killers because we got DS is starting to get a bit out of control. A think a simple easy fix to keep this focused on being an anti tunnel perk is to have Survivors with active DS's lose it faster if they work on gens and totems. Every second spent doing ANY objective counts as 5 seconds for every normal one second. Saving a survivor off the hook costs you 30 seconds of your over all timer to use it and protection hits take 20 seconds off the timer.

i think this is too complicated because you still won't know the exact timer. Did they work on a gen since i last saw them? How many seconds are left. In the current world i know it's 60 seconds so i can count it out.

A better solution would be that it cancels when another survivor is downed. Because if another survivor is downed, you obviously aren't being tunneled.

  • Rank 1 killer main here, i generally play every killer but main nurse. A good all around build for almost any killer is:

BBQ, PGTW, Sloppy Butcher, Corrupt Intervention

Depending on your killer you may swap out sloppy for something else. Like say, leatherface or billy don't get much use out of sloppy since they generally down a lot with their power. Same with Legion which doesn't get much benefit since hits in your power don't count. In these cases, i'd swap it out.

In general, if you find yourself having a hard time finding people, swap out Sloppy butcher for Whispers. Whispers is great because you know you are patrolling the right area, this is especially useful on slower killers who can't patrol as easily like huntress.

Corrupt Intervention gives you some early game slowdown making it so you only have to patrol 4 gens for 2 minutes. Depending on the killer you play this can be huge.

PGTW is easily the most consistent slowdown perk in the game.

Sloppy butcher is great at slowing healing down. Generally if you have 2 survivors you can go after, and 1 is injured, focus the uninjured one and get them injured, with sloppy you want to swap targets a lot and spread the damage around. Once you get later on and their whole team is injured they need to make a choice to spend a long time healing or not.

BBQ is great for bloodpoints and information. If you hook someone you see everyone far away, and can run to a gen, it also synergizes really well with pop, because it tells you where to go right after hooking. If you see nobody, either they are hiding in a locker (wasting their time) or their are nearby. In either case, it gives you a chance to patrol around the hook, because if they are in a locker, then they aren't doing a gen and you have a few seconds to look around. If they are just hanging around you immediately get to start your next chase. If you saw literally nobody, then you can start a chase, hit a guy, then turn around and often find another survivor starting to unhook. Synergizing well with sloppy, because now you got 3 injured and can start a chase.

There are definitely more optimal builds for some killers, but i think this is the best all around one that works on almost any killer, except for maybe nurse. Personally i find nurse too slow for Pop to be useful (nurse main here) and prefer to go with surge.

So generally, i'd say, grab clown for pop and plague for CI. Then from there pick what's fun

Apex legends for example has punishments for leaving in ranked but no punishement for leaving in public lobbys at all. And it's a heavily team based game. Ngl I really like that approach, public should be casual and ranked should be serious

Correct. Kill your friends is the casual mode and everything else is ranked, thus BHVR should be banning people for it.
