I do. Every month Iri 1 and still playing, sometimes alone, sometimes with friends. I like it, but killer was stressful. I think this patch is a good thing. Of course, things must be watched and maybe changed in 6.1.1
I'm seasoning my French Onion Soup off that other guy's posts.
-
I've had a few rough ones (playing meme Freddy, though), with some reallllllly well placed OTR bodyblocks.
Gotta be honest....unlike Dead Hard, I'm not even mad...at least I got to apply my on-hit effects - There was some really good usage of the perk.
There's also some real creative usage of the BT (extended with perk) speed boost along with OTR, too.
I've seen some very interesting plays.

I'm pretty sure for most survivors it will be business as usual, at least at mid+ mmr.
Killers will feel emboldened by the base break and hit cooldown buffs, but there are numerous videos from the ptb and/or theory crafting that show it is negligible in most real game scenarios.
Iron Will nerf is huge for killers, especially those that already have trouble hearing sounds for whatever reason (either hearing issues/no headphones/etc). Personally never used it.
DS nerf is also pretty big, particularly the end game portion, although it can largely be replaced by OTR, which provides a similar effect without the boring counterplay of slugging/stale gameplay of unwinnable scenarios. Personally never used it.
I run SC/BK and will lose 7s iirc per heal, but I'm OK with that.
Built in BT is OK, 5s is a bit short, but you can generally make it to some sort of structure with the 7% haste in that time and the distance 'gained' if being chased is far more significant than people realize. Perk BT is now insane. May run it.
The nerf to CI is a huge one (it's actually my favorite change in the patch, tbh...I like the game picking up steam faster).
Ruin being nerfed is also a huge buff for my solo queue play, imo, same with the new/nerfed PGTW. Same with the nerf to PR/DMS - DMS provides fair value now. All of these perks no longer cripple me if a teammate goes down due to a dumb play/early.
Extra 10s on gens does not bother me, but I realize it can buff camping, particularly on Leatherface/One Tap Myers/etc - I'd imagine this will be addressed if necessary, but camping has never really been prevalent in my games. There will still be times/scenarios post patch where camping is necessary, though.
The regression perks that were buffed....ie Nemesis', Overcharge (debatable with current changes), etc all promote moving around and kicking multiple gens, which is fine and combos ok with the weak kick buff and decently with the regression buff from kicking.
It will also be fun to run a Bamboozle/STBFL/Fire Up/Brutal Strength build.
For Solo I'll probably use SC/BK/Overcome(or Lithe)/BT (or Kindred or Babysitter).
I don't think I'm particularly good in either role, but I'm definitely doing better/having more fun than some of the posters I see here (both roles), particularly the negative ones (although they just seem to be self-fulfilling prophecies at this point).
I may have missed something, but these are the random thoughts I punched out on mobile while on break. Sorry if there are any typos, etc.
I'd also like to know what you think and hope you have fun, either way :D
"I don't think I'm particularly good in either role, but I'm definitely doing better/having more fun than some of the posters I see here (both roles), particularly the negative ones (although they just seem to be self-fulfilling prophecies at this point)."

VHS is leagues harder than DBD (for both sides).

Without the stall/regression perks? Because that's pretty much everything the killers I'm facing are still running.
What perks are you struggling against?
-
Weird - My games have been way breezier without all the stall/regression perks getting in my way.
Of course, I could be wrong, but we'll see how the meta shakes out ;3
-
I'm still using SC and BK and doing fine since the update.
-
I've never used Iron Will.
Spirit is not too bad, imo, as her audio queue lets me know exactly where she is in most loops, particularly long loops which usually result in a forced pallet break.
I can see it being an issue without headphones, though, for sure.

I am Japanese and may use terrible English. Please understand.
I just tested the reworked Spine Chill with a friend and was amazed at the results. Because Spine Chill reacts to stealth killers!
It responded even when the killer was somewhat further away than 32 meters(maybe 36 m?), so perhaps the PTB specifications are still intact in the current version.
I must confess that I am quite puzzled. At least in the Japanese community, it was believed that the unconditional Spine Chill response to killers within 36m was a provisional specification of the PTB and that the actual version would have the icon light up in response to Terror Radius.
People also thought, "I heard that this specification was added for people with hearing disabilities. So they wouldn't make any changes that would disadvantage stealth killers more than they do now". However, this forecast turned out to be wrong.
I would like to ask everyone on the forum, do you think this Spine Chill behavior is abnormal? Or do you think we Japanese have misunderstood the adjustment and this specification is normal?
thank you.

Me personally, I think there are too many interconnected global killer buffs. Just judging from other games, these little buffs are multiplicative when they are interconnected.
A 10% breaking pallet buff interacts with a 10% faster attack speed and faster bloodlust. So even though they seem like small numbers, when they interact, you get major effects.
A 12.5% increase in gens interacts with 10% faster kicking gens and 2.5% extra regression.
There's just too many interactions for me to feel comfortable with them. I would have preferred the developers slowly add global buffs, one by one, instead a bunch of them all at once.
I also wish the developers had address face-camping at gen 5 and tunneling at gen 5 more harshly in this patch, since there's so many global Killer buffs. This would have been the perfect time to make those strategies
Now, I don't play Dead Hard, but I also feel as if it is one of the few survivor perks where survivors get an opportunity to out-play killers. Reducing survivor/killer interactions like that seems like a bad idea from a game design perspective. Survivor definitely can get monotonous, and nerfing the most interactive chase perk that survivors have is going to make the survivor experience slightly less fun. (I am saying this from the perspective of a survivor player that uses Sprint Burst and a Killer player that really never had an issue with it).
Also, the Dead Hard is the only perk that allows survivors a chance to come out ahead against a face camper and Dead Hard is the best perk against the Nurse and Blight.
As much as killers hate Dead Hard, I really think this is a bad decision.
The Self Care nerf adversely affects solo-queue, so I disagree with changing it. Also, I think Kindred should have been basekit for solo queue and duo queue only. 3 and 4 man SWFs wouldn't get it at all. Or add the icons showing if someone is in a chase, doing a gen, etc. Solo queue has been hurting the worse for a while, it really needs something.
I could totally be wrong about what I'm thinking and it seems like all the streamers think this patch is the best patch ever. So I seem to be in the minority. But I really can't help but think there's going to be a bunch of killer global buff rollbacks shortly after this patch goes live.
The proof will be in the pudding :P
I appreciate your PoV and look forward to seeing what's what tomorrow.
We don't jive on a lot of things, but line up on a few.
Tomorrow will be a day to remember @_@

This patch is such a healthy change to the game. Gen speeds have been addressed and dealt with, along with camping and tunneling. Metas have been butchered. Dead Hard is dead (which is a massive relief lol). Basekit BT isn't that hard to deal with compared to Dead Hard atleast. The endurance effect stacking is now fixed after the ptb. And the grind has been reduced.
But some players (especially survivors) are threatening to leave the game saying "oh killer sided patch, solo queue is destroyed". You do realize that these slight killer buffs were necessary because kill rates weren't high enough in the first place right?
Note the replies and how the patch/power balance actually plays out....the results may surprise you @_@

PTB is for finding major bugs. PTB is absolutely worthless to determine any type of balance because there's no MMR.
So saying games are easy on PTB is worthless also.
You'll certainly have your real world data this week.

i was out home for 2 days and already had an 15 minute mark from Bad internet "disconnected from the host" mid matches. Guess he stacked or something, what are the penalties time table? and the reset punishment time?
"Each time you disconnect from a match within the past 7 days, you get a stricter leaver penalty. This penalty always applies -1 pip, and starts at a 5 minute ban, then 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, and finally a repeating 72 hours."
That's from a Reddit thread...I believe it starts to decay after 24h, though....I think.....

Probably dc'd over and over and over while testing out each killer for a few minutes each. I'm just guessing though.
That would involve sitting through previous penalties....IE 10min 15min 30min 1h.....24h....etc as they occurred.
Maybe it was a really long visit <_<
-
How did they get the DC penalty that high during a session?
Seems impossible.

Heard joke once: Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel, ever since he lost his horse. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain without the companionship he had previously known.. Doctor says, 'Treatment is simple - easy fix! Great funny man, The Clown, is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up. Keep your hands in your pockets, though, haha!' Man bursts into tears. Says, 'But doctor…I am The Clown.' Man eats Doctor's fingers. Good joke. Everybody laugh. Clown cry. Horse still missing.

Because with their updated addons you can reliably hit all 4 survivors with just about every use of their power. Pair that with thanatophobia and some other meta slow down perks, suddenly you are in a 30 minute dbd game where you were never going to win from the start.
This seems true and accurate, particularly on larger maps.

I had every tome completed up to the tome during which i went on my 10 month break, so everything after that one is a WIP for me.
That said, some of those challenges are ridiculous. Like, who in the world thought invigorating an intoxicated Survivor was a common enough scenario in a normal game not just to make a challenge out of it, but also a master challenge that requires it twice in one match?! So many of these challenges just force me to throw the game to even just have a slight chance to get them, its ridiculous.
And honestly, you have my respect for somehow going through all of these while still keeping your sanity intact (or at least I sincerely hope that is the case xD).

This. People play survivor because it's brain dead easy and killer is too hard. 90 second gens and slightly faster kicking is going to do very little with the way the busted maps are
Kicking time is actually negligible in chase (few content creators demonstrated this) unless a bunch of pallets are already pre-burnt.
I don't know the total distance lost from the 'mini sprint' on hit with the nerf, though.
If anyone has the math/difference using Hold W logic (straight line), I'd like to see it, please :)
