I think base kindred would be fine if they remove the killer aura.
And if you like surv you should try it more honestly. When I first tried dbd I had a really bad killer game so I just played surv until few months later. Then I started to enjoy it more as I opened myself up to it.
I still have more hours on surv tho but I enjoy killer as well. And it helps with the variety.
Good advice.
Whenever I'm trying to 'get good' at a new game, I go easier on myself/lower my expectations and focus on learning stuff like, in dbd, the powers/perks/basic mechanics.
There's no harm in taking a few Ls as long as you're learning a little each time.
Playing to learn/experience is also leagues less frustrating than playing to win.

Ok I should probably just play killer I'm easily frustrated in solo q, what do you guys think of some form of kindred basekit ? I would love to see that change honestly it's not much compared to all killers buffs
I'd prefer it over the proposed icons, tbh.
I don't like the implications said icons have for stealth killers.

As an aside, sometimes I worry about getting sent to THE LOW MMR ZONE when I'm throwing for 'tomies over homies.'

I actually didnt say I was matched with people with 2 digit IQ, I said I wish I did.
It's not about being the strongest link, but you saying that MMR is fine is just not right, and everyone who plays the game more than they spend their time on the forums would know that.
You interested/sympathetic? This is not the first time that you insult me indirectly. I pretty much remember you've doing this before when I created a solo q thread and you created one right after saying how solo q is fine, you don't fool.
If I posted gameplay? I dont record gameplay, and I dont have to, because the majority of people know that solo q is not fine.
Sorry for not being interested in your gameplay, unsympathetic towards your attitude, and creating a new forum thread.
Apologies.

Have you tried playing during different hours? Also are killers you are getting also that inexperienced?
I am asking because I usually avoid playing surv during early evenings/before midnight eu.
I believe the implication is that everyone is bad, but it is impossible for a good player to win/raise mmr if matched with these players.

Have you ever seen me play to say that I am "out of touch"?
No.
You did say you're matched with people with '2 digit iqs' though.
Given how matchmaking works and the fact, not anecdote, that you're never going to be the strongest link on your team 100% of the time, can't say I'd be interested either.
Probably would have been interested/more sympathetic previously, but your attitude and statements really paint enough of a picture for me.
See, if you posted gameplay, unless you were really good, every game, based on your postings, people would say you are to blame.
If I posted a video and went down in 4 seconds, had a laugh, and died, people would say - Yeah, lines up with them not caring/being a goof. Same if I was destroyed by a weak team.
I'm not my own worst enemy on the forums, though.

Honestly I 100% agree with people crying about solo Q, maybe I'm better at killer than survivor, maybe I'm not as good as I think Idk but solo q is painful I'm not having a good time at all.
I just wish I could enjoy both sides and with the killer buffs soon I feel like kindred basekit is not too much to ask for us solo players, I mean I only play solo and I probably escape 3/10 games on average, and because of it I'm not even enjoying when I stomp bad teams as killer because I know how it feels, it doesn't feel like a balanced game every match is a mismatch
I'm not immune from Insidious Bubba, haha
He's pretty cute, though :)
He camped out P1, we slammed gens, he chased me for 2 min, then I waved my arms for the other 2 to dip.
It was still a fun/funny game, though.

So that's why your games are ok, because you don't care.
I have thousands of hours in this game and I do care, so there's that. When someone does care, reality exists. Being stuck in low MMR with noobs isnt fun.
Glad I somehow am not low mmr, I guess.
Probably due to a semi-selfish gameplay style (with the odd self sacrifice if a killer reallllly got destroyed).

I play killer with zero gen regression/solo queue survivor with zero second chance perks and have fun every single game. DBD doesn't tilt me, because I don't care how many kills I get or if I die or escape. Losing gens fast/being teabagged/clicked at/hit on hook/camped/tunneled/slugged to death/etc doesn't bother me at all, which is why I don't care to use regression or second chance perks. I use other random perks I find more fun instead.
I can get behind this attitude.
Similar to my own :)
Most of the time, I just feel like I'm playing against myself, trying to do OK, but not really caring.

Just yesterday with someone from these same forums i was left to die on first hook because they gave up because it was a proxy camping blight.
I dont appreciate people who give up just bc its a killer they dont like, i'd rather them unistall and let everyone else play the game like normal.
Sorry to read :(
This game (or any other) would probably lose a sizable portion of its player base if people like that were removed.

It doesn't help too that many only have so much time to play. Like my example was 1 customer out of 100 but if you're a full time student or worker or whatever real life things suck away your time, you might only get a few games in.
If one of your three games you get to play because you only have 45 minutes of free time is ruined by someone face camping you or dealing with a bully squad, that's a lot of your little free time being burned being miserable. Hyperbole or not, many are going to just abandon a game rather than play a game where 1/3 of their time is ruined.
I can see the overlap between frequency and bad experiences, for sure. I usually play like an hour or so after work and if it sucks, it sucks, but I still enjoy most of my experiences.
As a kid, a game with all these movie monsters/etc was a dream game...

I'd duo with you or anyone that needs a hand.
I'm probably not as good as most people on here, tbh, but I do cling to gens/win chases/bounce when I feel like it's the best move in Solo.
I appreciate all the players I play with/against, though, as they literally make the game.

You're just super good!
Honestly, I imagine it's partially bias. Kind of like customer service jobs, you don't remember the 99 customers who were fine but it is burned into your brain that you never want to do a service job again because of that one time you dealt with MEGA KAREN and it ruined your damn week.
Most customers are not Mega Karen but they're the ones you remember. I imagine most games are not against face camping killers and Seal Team Bully Squad Six but those are the games that imprint on your mind and ruin your week.
Probably just an overload of THC, tbh, that makes every game super chill.
There are definitely games where I have to play sweaty or whatever, but that doesn't mean it was a bad or unfun game.
I agree with your points about memory and confirmation bias, though - easy to filter out the good in favor of the bad.

Solo Queue already has people just leaving teammates for dead in the end game, because the incentive to save teammates and die for them just isn't there.
No DS in end game really won't change much besides the killer being able to force a single kill in a bad game.

I've been observing this thread since it's original posting.
While this change does benefit me immensely, because I have many Killers P3'd, it will not help those who need it most; the new players. It may even make the grind significantly more difficult than it was, which is unacceptable.
The entire grind overhaul, prestige rework and P3 rewards have been extremely underwhelming, to say the absolute least. If I were to be as critical as I want to be, I'd suggest BHVR go back to the drawing board for all three of those things.
According to the PTB, all my killers will be fine for the new system, too, but like you said, it's a grind for new people, for sure.
General question for anyone:
I may have missed it, but if I have Survivor X's teachable from The Shrine, do I need to get them to P2 to get Tier 2 for everyone or will Tier 1 unlock the next Tier (Tier 2) in this scenario (confusing, I know, haha).

Ahh I remember the days of Gameshark... trust me, there are a lot of cheaters in this game... many of them subtle. I've noticed that my connection starts going crazy whenever I get near someone cheating. They seem to gain bursts of speed (without the proper perks) and have this common habit of just vanishing after turning a corner... and in places that there isn't anywhere to hide.

Most TVs allow some level of settings adjustment. The better option is using a PC monitor as they usually have more settings. But it is doable.
Some have adjustable x-hairs, too - Monitors have a lot of neat features depending on brand, etc.

I post one video on the dbd subreddit where my gamma is high with NVIDIA filters and 70% or more of the comments are people complaining about it. Then it gets derailed into me trying to explain that 1) it is allowed and 2) why I use it etc etc etc. I have to explain how it probably looks higher brightness for them because my actual monitor brightness is low or I used high gamma because I didn't want to close the blinds and blah blah blah, it's awful. They still don't listen/understand and keep derailing the post. It's annoying!
I think people are just tired of having to explain themselves for using something that console players can't. Which I understand can be frustrating - but I will use it, it's allowed, it's convenient.
As for OP, I do think the streamer overreacted, or perhaps a rogue mod did. They should have instead just @ed you with a pre-written command that briefly explains the filters (if that question is asked a lot).
I don't really care what people do with their games/screens/etc barring cheating.
I was just curious as to whether there was some unwritten rule I had broken or whatever.
I dipped back into their channel after, and it was apparently to help viewers see things during Nightfall, but they're opting to keep it on permanently due to its usefulness.

I mean, you didn't know that console players do have the means to change their nicknames, so those 3000+ hours clearly don't count for much as far as this particular discussion.
Yeah, they seem pretty ignorant, haha

@[Deleted User] said:
It's something streamers get tired of addressing. And a lot of viewers start off with that line and then escalate it into a debate about how filters are cheating. Not saying that's what you were doing, but it happens often. A lot of viewers seem to go out of their way to find streamers that aren't playing the way they like and then do everything they can to kill the vibe of their stream. Hence why that streamer may have instabanned for the question.
This is what I was wondering...
If it's a taboo topic, I'd know not to ask it in another stream/rack up continuous bans.
-
@Pulsar said:
I have no idea.
I see a lot of people using filters because the game offers basically zero options.
Sure would like to have those on console...
Maybe it will be in future accessibility options or something....you could always adjust your TV, but it's probably not good to blast the brightness....either for the TV or your eyes.

I didn't say that it was common, just possible. And you can do it any number of times in PSN, so long as you are willing to pay $10 a pop.

Unless it has changed, PC players are the only user that can edit their nicknames for DBD.
Nicknames like "Hook_on_you", "DBD_Master" and thousand others are pretty obvious.
You can create alt accounts on PSN as long as the main one has PS+, family accounts using Game Pass, etc.

I forgot that demo also had an add-on which synergizes with Lethal Pursuer, albeit it is an Iri.
STBFL /w 8 stacks on demo along w/ the 10% weapon recovery, you can now shred a survivor thru their speed boost, so it does have a place on Demo imo, being able to 2-tap a survivor thru their speed boost is a nice potential that wasn't exactly feasible prior, you cant 2 tap shred w/ Black Heart alone.
Otz tested the combo a bunch on his PTB stream.
It's actually super underwhelming due to the period/timing during emergence that the add-on kicks in.
Maybe it wasn't working properly....he thought it wasn't for a good portion of the test.

Funny you say that since otz usually comes from a mindset of balance. In today's stream, he also said Than and overcharge are too much also and will hurt new players a lot. He may be a killer main but he wants the game to be balanced for both sides.
I pointed out his Overcharge commentary above, I think.
No idea why people always say X main / biased / whatever about fairly balanced players.
Some people just like to grasp at straws and be put on public display, I guess, when reality makes an appearance.
