Roaming gen camper for patrolling gens
-
@KingB Around $130 (American) is the cheapest one I believe. It's been awhile since I looked at them.
-
That's why I turned mine to friends only.cipherbay_ said:
Lol if you dont like the end game chat, just leave the lobby, i hate getting private messages from salty survivors.Unnamed_Freak said:~sees the level of toxicity on end game chat~
Nah, I think we're fine without it.
Honestly, the only thing consoles have going for it is that it lacks the end game chat window. -
Not without getting an adapter for them. The game doesn't recognize them as input devices otherwise.

@JohnTed SWF=Survive With Friends

@Nickenzie What would prevent survivors from re-queing into the solo que over and over again until they got into a room with their friends like they did prior to the introduction of the SWF option?Nickenzie said:
I can't take all the credit, some of my ideas have been inspired by @weirdkid5 because I REAL feel like his suggestion will work to be honest!DelsKibara said:@Delfador said:
There are many very useful and beneficial threads but they get lost in this mess unfortunately.I do know stuff like @Nickenzie 's threads gets washed up in a sea of complaints, when the stuff he has proposed would be amazing for the general QOL of the game.
SWF Changes:
Basically, we need two party queues for the solos and SWF. SWF cannot join solos queues and vice versa to keep things simple. Solos will have an easier time reaching their pip zone while SWF will have to do a little more to reach theirs because they are expected to do better with voice communication. The killer will be rewarded with more BP whenever they are going against a SWF to compensate for the potentially increased difficulty.
Done and queues will remain the same as normal because we aren't directly splitting the player base in half. -
@amaru1 yeah, looping triggers ALOT of killers. Many camp because of it because as @fluffybunny said they see it as their reward or because they see it as "an equally scummy way to work their objective" or they don't want to play Nascar with you if you get away.
-
As a killer main who plays on Ps4 (currently on break til the event is over...) there's a few hundred reasons why this might happen if I'm being honest. Some are could be seen as kind of legit strategies (dark/bright clothes perhaps? Are you the obsession? Maybe it's an item you brought in). Most are dumb/troll reasons (Hate/love for your character. Hate/love your cosmetics.)
My best guess is the same I give to survivors who BM me when I'm not camping, tunneling, or whatever the new made up rule is this week - "Some people just want the watch the world burn Master Wayne." -
@Dead_by_David Sounds like you got reported by a killer that likes wasting time.
I wouldn't worry. False reports get thrown away and you did not take the game hostage. -
Add in that the sound is still broken as are scratch marks, I play on Ps4 (Dead by Slideshow), and the annoying (and triggering...PTSD) fireworks in the menu and you have every reason I'm avoiding DbD for awhile.Attackfrog said:I am.
Here's why.
Haven't played in a month cuz I got sick of the toxicity/racism/juvenile environment/name calling/ridiculous behavior of the player base.
There is (another) huntress cosmetic....no thank you.
So why would I play during an event that INCREASES player angst and rewards something idc about?
No thank you. There are far too many other awesomeness to play right now.

In the Forum go to F.A.Q. and Rules > Useful Links > click on the support link, this will take you to the page where you can file a support ticket about the ban. Support tickets are the only way to appeal a ban.
-
You will need to submit a ticket to stand a chance. They will not discuss anything involving bans on the forum.
-
The de-buff idea was tried and was abused by survivors.
-
On Steam you can. On Ps4 you cannot. On Xbox I'm not sure.
-
Sorry but your idea will not work.
Back before SWF was introduced, killer que times were awful because survivors would dodge repeatedly to be partnered with their friends. Your idea would only serve to bring this back while not solving the core of your issue which is the use of comms, not SWF.
As for the core issue, it takes 10 seconds to add someone to a party chat....
Best advice I can give you, is to find a way to have fun with the imbalance. It's not going anywhere. -
I hope not. I had to shut off all my messages and friend requests because I got tired of reporting people. Give people an open forum with no fear of repercussions because the devs can't ban on consoles? I'll pass. Not having it is, literally, the only good thing about playing it on console.
-
It would make que times unbearably long on both sides as history has already shown us. SWF groups would leave the SWF que and enter the solo que, dodging until they get grouped with their friends.
-
You can report friend requests. Hit the options button while viewing the request you want to report and select report. I used to do it all the time before I learned I could just turn them off.Peanits said:@redsopine01 said:

@venom12784 Since console bans aren't up yet you can still send in a support ticket since those are supposed to be active hopefully in the next few weeks. Now even though they can't ban now BHVR has been keeping a naughty list for when they do.
https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
I would not recommend doing that, as we cannot access logs of friend requests or private messages on consoles. I would suggest contacting the support team for Sony (or Microsoft, if you play on Xbox) and reporting them there. They do not tolerate that kind of abuse and people like the do get banned way harder than we could ever do.
I have a ps4 and you can't actually report request msgs
There's no report button, but you may still be able to contact their customer support and file a ticket to report them.
-
I keep hoping for Ps4 avatars and a dynamic theme.
-
Which is probably another reason he's generally hated by so many people. lolVietfox said:Here we go again, another thread about Ochido... -
It's a long list.
-
@Dead_by_David I did that for awhile myself but it just got...tiring? I mean, I spent more time reporting people then playing after awhile. Plus, I got the 2 that were so poorly timed, it took all my willpower to not get myself banned from PSN.
You can turn them off in your privacy settings somewhere. I'd give you more details as to where they are found but I'm not around my Ps4 atm. -
Even looking past the fact that this would be the ultimate crutch, what would motivate the 5th survivor here?
You spawn from the hatch, key in hand, turn around and instantly escape back through the hatch because why not?
-
In a world of bad ideas, this one rules as king of the bad ideas.
-
Without going into my tale of woe, I turned my messages to friends only and turned friend requests off. Best decision I've ever made in regards to this game.
-
I have not run into one in DbD on Ps4...yet....
In other games, yes, I've run into a few.
-
That's not the devs website though...I don't know who's site that is but it's not the devs.Vadim239 said:@MyNamePete said:

I don't think we will. On the communication roadmap it says "blogpost" now.
-
But therein is my confusion. If you read Sony's ToS you'll see that it's against their community guidelines to "use glitches to gain an unfair advantage". When you dig to find out how to report it, they say to report it to the developer via the in game report feature and not to Sony. It even links instructions on how to report for several games like Overwatch, several Call of Duty games, etc. It makes 0 sense to me.DwightsLifeMatters said:
Sony and Microsoft is the issue, not bhvr. Also, Im Not that much into console games but is there any other game on console in which the devs can ban who they want to? I'm pretty sure that only Sony can ban people (that's my stand of knowledge from ps3)RWoodrow said:Not soon enough. What I don't understand is why they don't work now.
Maybe it has something to do with DbD not having dedicated servers? I don't know. -
Not soon enough. What I don't understand is why they don't work now.

Have you tried renewing your licences in account management?
-
I thought she'd be happy with the change though.Attackfrog said:Are you sure it's dbd fault?
And maybe Huntress isn't just selecting her own mask when you are afk?
Gonna be honest: if Huntress wants to wear original mask, Huntress WILL wear original mask.
I mean, I get the sentimental connection to the bunny mask but she's been wearing it so long now the inside has to smell like rancid toe cheese. A new mask would have to be a breath of fresh air. Literally. -
Same issue here with event items. Also, after buying a new cosmetic and restarting my Ps4, it reset all my cosmetics to default except the items I'd just bought.
-
I'd prefer them taking their time to fix some of the issues honestly. Hard for me to be hyped about new DLC when the game either crashes, plays like a PowerPoint presentation, or sounds like a certain YouTuber's videos when someone gets hooked.

Over the years I have run into people who have been on the recieving end of such reports (on forums, Facebook communities, etc) and in those cases, Sony did give them bans, therefore, I have faith that they do hand out punishments.purebalance said:@RWoodrow said:

The thing about Console vs PC is that PC you rely on the gaming company to monitor the abuses (see what I did there) and PSN you have two ways, if the report function doesn't work Playstation Monitors and bans the abusers.
How exactly? I've never really seen an option anywhere to report someone to PSN.
Select the message in question, press the options button, select report.
That's definitely convoluted. Most people probably can't find that. I misread what you had written originally and kept trying to click the message and then I was like ohhhh options button. Most people don't even know that it's the info screen during games on dbd(or menu whatever). I highly doubt it's used frequently.
Follow up is do they actually do anything about it?
-
There will not be an optimization patch per yesterday's stream. They will be working on it in small doses going forward but there will not be a patch dedicated to optimiziation.

Yes she was. It didn't stop there either. The guy continued the harassment here on the forum.Unicorn said:

I’m more hurt by acts of unjust complaints. Like when Not_Queen was harassed in her private streams about the PS4 update delay. Complaints about the game are fine. It’s the times when the people behind it are targeted when I have a problem.Dr_doom_j2 said:Psssh, I'm so sick of seeing this kind of stupid ass post... People will always complain, and complaining about complaining is about the dumbest and most pointless gesture..
You know, we, real human beings who have lives and jobs (some of us with jobs and lives much more difficult than that most if the dev team) paid for a product, and as a technically unfinished product that thrives on a business model of continued expansion, we as ths consumer have not only the right to complain, but a duty to voice our opinions on the product we spent labor earned income on as well as discuss our opinions about it with others so as to inform both the developers of what we want, as well as other customers of what to realistically expect if they so choose to also purchase this product.
You sitting there telling people to stop complaining, to stop voicing our displeasures with the game, does absolutely nothing. It doesn't affect change, it doesn't help anyone see the light or error in their ways. It provides absolutely no purpose other than to try and silence people who have legitimate issues with the game. All you're saying is basically "come on guys, it's not that bad, we shouldn't be bothered, just thankful that these devs let us play in their wonderful playland, we should be so lucky to have whatever they give us".
That's effet.
That's empty plattitude.
That's sucka #########.
People want to see the game improved. It will never be perfect, of course, but it's well within our rights to complain and discuss to try and find ways to improve the product we're planning to invest both hard earned cash and easily wasted time into. -
I had some...exceptionally poorly timed toxic messages, otherwise, I'd swap 1 and 2 myself as well. As a killer main on Ps4, I have often times referred to this game as Dead by PowerPoint due to the horrible framerate.MegaWaffle said:@RWoodrow said:

I'd suggest restoring you licences under account management and restarting your Ps4. That usually clears this up. If that doesn't work, I'd submit a ticket.

Yes. Sony changed when the EU store updates with DLC a few months ago. EU and AU should get it the 12th and NA will get it on the 11th (same day due to time zones).TheCatLady said:
Time zones may play a factor, for example in Australia it's already the 11th, so the (maybe) release date for me is actually Wednesday the 12th.BoxingRouge said: -
You have to use the search function in the store or look in the new add-ons menu.

Opting out of facing SWF groups wouldn't fix the issue.

Honestly, the answer is as varied as the answer to why survivors teabag.
Some are new and believe it speeds up the sacrifice.
I've been known to hit a hooked survivor once as kind of a high five for a good chase.
Some do it just in case the survivor escapes, they'll be angry and start making mistakes.
Some do it because they're mad or frustrated because of (insert a reason here...teabagging, SWF, game imbalance, etc, etc).
I'm sure there's more but that's all the ones I know of currently. -
No. The only advantage of playing on console is not having it. Plus, because there is no bans for things done in game, you're only opening the door for toxic messages to run wild without punishment.
This is a horrible idea in every way possible honestly.
