This*
It needs tweaks to not work in certain situations. But I'm a really good survivor and I use it. Not because I NEED it. But because it's so strong in so many situations. Doesn't make me weak. Makes me smart for using the OP perk while I can before it gets nerfed (as it should be) lol.
Should have applied more pressure. /s
I use it as a survivor. Can really save you if the killer decides to tunnel, which is becoming more common. Also it helps out your whole team, because the killer sees there is an obsession and does not know who or how many people have it. It would benefit from deactivation in certain conditions, such as someone else being hooked.
-
Toolboxes are easy to deal with. Just lobby dodge.
-
The game has gotten noticeably worse since the Ruin nerf. As survivor, the queues are longer than ever. As killer, the gens fly absurdly fast. 2 kills like a major accomplishment and you have to play dirty for it.

Hexes usually are gone within 2 minutes at red ranks, there is no "it'll get stronger the longer the game goes on"
i think what everyone is saying is, we WANT you to lower the regression amount, and make it non-hex perk.
I do not understand why we need to keep saying this. I also do not understand why they keep saying it is effective as a late game perk.

This post gave me a good laugh, thanks @ProfessorDunwich. 😁
Glad you appreciated it. 🙂

Dang, the number of people who can't realize this is a joke is somewhat disturbing
Let's cut them some slack. If they just read the first paragraph, I could see them thinking it was legit given the focus on "survivor fun."

He is really not the best of the bunch and usually not auto 4K like some other killers, but i think he can be fun. No suggestion really?
I like Civ 5 personally.
-
Best set-up for the Clown occurs at the killer select screen. After clicking on the Clown's image, hit Alt+F4, then play Civilization.

Not really. While keys are annoying, they don't show up all that often. I face a dozen toolboxes before I face a key. Would I like them changed? Yes. Do I want them changed before maps, then toolboxes? Heck no.
Though I've had survivors three gen themselves, only to find a key in a chest and make it out. Honestly, that really does tick me off.
That's exactly what happened to me. If i see keys I usually dodge or run Franklin's. I hooked a survivor over the hatch, went to check on the gens, and boom, gone. They had to the nerve to "gg". Funny how that never happens when I win as killer. They must have found a key in a chest and been on comms. Very frustrating.
-
Nope, they want you to spend money on it, Hence why it is so intrusive.

Pennywise from Stephen King's It.
Jeepers Creepers, of course.
Chucky would look ridiculous.
As iconic as Jason Voorhees is, I doubt DbD would do him justice.
They did justice to Myers and Ghostface. Leatherface could use some work. I wouldn't want Jason because of the debacle that happened F13 the game.

Hooks saves contribute very little?
Given how fast gens go now, yes.

@GrootDude said:

But still objectives
Ones that contribute little to the game overall.
-
@GrootDude said:
“There is only one objective.”
Totems, piggy boxes, hook saves, heals and exit gates would like a word. :P
Totems are completely optional. Pig boxes are exclusive to a single killer. Hook saves and heals only become an issue if the killer has time to get hooks. Exit gates are an extension of gens.
-
I like Pulcinella on Clown. Too bad he is such an awful killer.
-
He is the king of slugging, which is pretty much needed to beat good teams. Maybe not top 3, but top 5, sure.

That has always been the case.
Not really. They seem to be doing much more hardcore than ever, because they have to. Seeing them camp more often too and pretty much always slug. It is simply not feasible to hook each survivor 3 times against a remotely competent team.
Saw Peanits play last night as Leatherface. Dude got like 2 or 3 hooks and camped a guy from phase 1 till death.
-
It is better on PC for sure. What really sucks is having to level up all your perks again. I've been on PC for 6 months or so and still don't have back what I had on PS4.

No. Game is unfun with old ruin and the red skillchecks give me bad vibes.
People played this game for 3 years with old Ruin and had plenty of fun. The game grew significantly over the past 3 years. With killers constantly getting the shaft and leaving, the long survivor queue times are "unfun."
-
@JawsIsTheNextKiller said:
No. It was an awful perk that did nothing at red rank and may have harmed the player base by scaring off new players.
Fix gen times, map sizes or nerf DS instead to compensate.
I saw the best killers run it consistently on their streams. It is inaccurate to say it did nothing. They get by without it, but they cannot play nice anymore. Slugging in particular has seen a significant rise.

We'll never know!

You are completely omitting
- Healing
- Rescuing teammates
- Doing bones
- Looking for gens
- Searching chests
Its dumb to "look at the math" when it comes to DBD, there are so many variables that affect gameplay and make the game easier/harder for both the killers and the survivors
Rescuing teammates and finding gens is quick. Many survivors don't bother healing and if the healing is being done by a teammate or med-kit, it is pretty fast. Chests and bones are completely optional.
-
@ZoneDymo said:
ermm no? they expect you to do 6... you are not meant to 4k
With this thinking, you have to focus on 2 survivors and ignore the other 2. Not fun for the survivors being focused/tunneled. Not fun for the survivors being ignored, as they don't get chased. Not fun for the killer as they pretty much have to ignore 2 survivors and actively search for the 2 already hooked.
-
You'll just have to trust the devs. No more transparency. Kind of like when my professors just didn't let us review exams anymore because we kept finding errors that affected grading.
-
Let's not worry. They have a fix coming.
-
I have a feeling how this is determined is going to remain a secret.
-
@Peanits said:
Not sure if you skipped to the end, but matchmaking and ranking are both being completely changed. Yes, ranks will be hidden at some point, but only because they are not going to be used for matchmaking. Instead, we'll be using a different method to track skill (independent of emblems) and matching you based on that.
Are we going to be getting any information on how skill is determined and be able to see our skill rating?

It has nothing to do with the vision of the game but everything to do with making an awesome trailer that looks amazing that will make people want to buy the game.
Perhaps it is a great demonstration of how survivors race out of the gates with ease after the Ruin nerf.
-
He does whenever he gets hit by a pallet.
"ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH"
You know, like the movies.
-
SWF can be incredibly frustrating to deal with as killer. Especially if they are a highly skilled bully squad. But playing with friends is a major draw with this game and it shouldn't go anywhere, not that it will. The devs should actually allow killers to feel scary and powerful and people could experience being in a horror movie with their friends.

My experience reading this thread...

I 1000% agree they are pushing there veteran and dedicated players away whilst enticing newer players. Survivor mains.
It does not even appear they are attracting many new players through this strategy. New players come and stay through word of mouth. I have seen far too many forms of entertainment chase new fans while ignoring their dedicated ones. Very rarely ends well.

@Waffleyumboy said:
I think new survivors will at least understand to stay on the gen.
Disrupting the entire community to teach baby survivors the basics.

What buff could Any Means Necessary receive? I feel as a survivor and killer player, the 2 minute maximum cooldown is appropriate as to not abuse pallet resetting so quickly.
This was the one that concerned me too. The last thing killers need is instantly resetting pallets. The perk itself was a terrible idea and the only silver lining is that is never used.

I'm too lazy to write anything different. 😎
At least you are honest.
-
This is a fantastic example of why Ruin was needed. Found a survivor immediately, downed and hooked them quickly. Didn't matter, 2 gens are already done.
-
@MrPeterPFL said:
You need to change your game style, getting 14k for a 4 man is embarrassing.
The point is there is not time to get 4 man with a healthy amount of points.
A killer must win 12 chases in the time it takes survivors to do 5 gens. The math does not add up.
-
Literally just the same cosmetic stuff from last year with cosmetics that can only be earned through paying real money.
-
I have went for pallets against Doc and found out they were illusionary. So I guess that counts.
-
If the new Doc music is an indicator of things to come, I would prefer most killers keep the generic music.
-
What does he need? To be deemed "unfun," "annoying," or "frustrating" for baby survivors to go against. Then he would get a "rework." As people tend not to complain about him (except people who play him, they don't count), he will languish in low-tier indefinitely.

Killers are entitled to a fair, balanced game. Unfortunately this isn't the case.
That dude posts that exact same thing in numerous threads. Best not to reply.
-
Or you could take the advice from the devs.
- Accept you will lose 2 gens immediately
- Watch the best streamers, as this will give you the skill they have
- Git Gud
- Play something else
-
How could the new Ruin possibly be considered better on its own than old Ruin? The logic defies comprehension.

Just look down while you chase them out. Deny's the flash and you don't have to see them testing the crouch button.
Pro-tip - they can see you're looking down and can't see them - so you've denied them the satisfaction of you seeing the T-bag.
That somehow sounds worse...
The way I avoid it is by drastically decreasing the frequency I play killer.

@meatisadelicacy said:
If you think playing killer is stressful, like I've seen a few people say, stop playing the game. Games should be fun. The fact that you're worried about perks possibly being nerfed in the future is insane. If it's not fun, stop playing, and stop making drama where there is none.
Most people find playing killer stressful. If everyone accepted your suggestion, your queues would be more outrageous than they already are.
-
My survivor queues are longer than ever. On the bright side, I am catching up on reading.
-
That seems to be the suggestion from their stream. The most valuable resource of Killers is time. The devs seem pretty dead set on giving them as little as possible. Long queues, short games. Brilliant.
-
Really hope the devs are paying attention to this...

Completely understandable. But that that was not happening.
Not saying you were guilty of it. But it is so common, many Killers expect it.
-
Seems Killers don't want to be tbagged, flashlighted, and other forms of taunts at the Exit Gate. Just a thought.
