How privileged a state must you be in that someone "repeatedly crouching", as the devs put it, in a video game is enough to upset you.
It's great when people ignore the meaning of something when it is convenient for them. This is like someone saying particularly nasty to someone and you say "they are just words on a screen."
T-bagging is like saying "F you, I have no respect for you or how much fun you are having. I think you are trash and will repeatedly rub in in your face while my buddies and I laugh on mics"
-
I think he is underrated and have been doing pretty well with him. He already has a small terror radius and if you add M&A you are in shooting range before survivors know you are there. Landing a harpoon is just as satisfying as hitting a hatchet IMO. And of course, survivors rarely tbag at the exit gate and those that do can pay quite dearly.
-
One of the best Killers in this game, dominating with any perk proves nothing.
-
The thing is supposed to be as tall as a tree. Do not see him working as a Killer, there are so many better options if you want something already established. Now taking inspiration from the sound mimicry could be interesting.

The problem in the grind is how long it takes to get all perks on all characters in the game. Not everyone can play 5-6 hours like me or like Ayrun or other streamers. So the best thing for this is to:
- Remove the requirment for unlocking the slots for the characters. All characters starts with the 4 slots for perks.
- All characters should start with their personal perks at tier 3 already.
- Teachable perks can be unlocked in level 20/25/30.
What do you think @Peanits
I expect crickets.

@Feiten said:
To honestly dodge the grind as im on ps4 I started playing killer and sending msgs to survivors " wanna farm" and we all just grind points. . Let them drop pallets on you. Evade you. Do chases. Kick gens. Let them do totems. Hit survivors then let them heal
That should not be necessary by any stretch of the imagination.
-
That's the problem. People aren't playing Killer because it is an unpleasant experience all too often.

I can't stress enough how easy it is to ruin a survivor's game by remembering their name and then playing extremely toxic the next time you play against them. The survivor can't even check who they're playing against so why is it fair the killer can see them?
Sounds like you recently paid the price for toxicity in a previous game. Maybe stop dragging out your win and tbagging at the exit? My sympathy for you is nil.

@FilledPizza said:
Some people take the game too seriously, and when they lose they start to take it to the heart.
This response is completely off. This game is different from others. I think the asymmetrical nature has a lot to do with it. Especially as Killer, when you have 4 people antagonizing just you. That is a lot to deal with. Since the OP is "toxicnancymain" I am sure they are referring to disgruntled Killers.
-
@LegionOfDumb said:
There is a way to make them not show up in blood webs... just take em. Get em to tier 3 and never use them. No one forces you to use them. If you didn't want his perks in other character's blood webs in the first place, you shouldn't have unlocked his teachable perks.
I think the OP is suggesting a way that does not require a ridiculous of game time to filter out crappy perks. Even when you do take them, that is only for that survivor or killer.

Just get every perk on all of the killers you play then? He's right if you just buy them they don't show up again. Giving people the option to remove perks from the RNG defeats the purpose of the grind and leveling.
The grind is the issue and it gets significantly worse the more survivors and killers you have. Devs thought Ruin was what was keeping people away? It is the ridiculous grind to get the perks you want.

Wow absolutely astonishing people still complain despite all of the recent and upcoming survivor nerfs. While I do understand it can be stressful and you just feel like you can’t do much, you actually can. I think there are a few killers that need help, but for the most part some of these killers like nurse, billy, spirit and ESPECIALLY Freddy are just too good. Freddy is amazing. Who the hell are you playing as when you play killer? You need to work on some things. I don’t think survivor experience feels fair a lot of the time. Vault hitboxes are broken. Hook camping makes me feel like DCing but you can’t or you get banned. But that’s not fun for that guy is it? So we paid for a game where killers are allowed to get away with that and if we don’t want to put up with that we get a penalty? Makes me feel like uninstalling. I’d rather play a game where they’re going to help me feel like this game isn’t a waste of time To queue up for I don’t give a damn if it’s a tactic or not. It shouldn’t be. I want to know that the killer is taking a bigger penalty the longer he stays in my vicinity lol
Look at the date I created the thread.
Anyway, Killer queues are still instant and Survivor queues are long enough to make me switch to killer.

I missed that. My point still stands with matchmaking in general for now though.
Anyway, good to see you're still around Professor. Haven't heard from you in a while.
Aww, thanks for noticing. Been taking a break from this game and playing others, but this one keeps drawing me back. Such a love/hate relationship.

It is okay for killers to have strong tracking perks. BBQ, nurses, Discordance and various other perks are great for tracking survivors. However Hangman's Trick did all of the above perks jobs better. This perk was a serious power creep and unhealthy for the games balance so it needed to be changed, although not to the extent that it was.
Also we are not talking about SWF here so I don't know why you needed to bring that up. Using whataboutism does not make your argument stronger nor convinces other people that your argument is right.
Perhaps it was too strong in the PTB. However, it should have been balanced. Not completely torpedoed and tossed in the trash can.

We don't have Sidney because we don't have the license for Scream.
If this is confusing, I will explain. When Scream was being filmed, Wes (I believe) found the mask and decided that it was what he wanted his killer to look like. However, he had to get it licensed from Fun World, the company that made the mask. This caused a small issue with Ghostface. He is split between two licences, one for the character, the other for the mask itself. The owner of the mask's rights was more than happy to work with BHVR on getting Ghostface in the game. The people who owned the rights to the character himself, however, probably proved to be too much, or it was simply too much money, and, as such, we do not have the license to Scream.
This is why our Ghostface is called Ghost (dramatic space) Face, why his real name is Danny Johnson rather than Billy Loomis or Stu Macher, and why we are unlikely to ever see Sidney. It would be nice to see, but is EXTREMELY unlikely.

@jlavaplays said:
Okay, so we know that The Clown is kinda good at chases, but has extremely little to no map pressure, right? So I have an idea. It might sound crazy, but bear with me and please be nice, hahaha!
The Clown now has a secondary power called "The Act" (name can be improved).
When standing in front of a locker, pressing and holding the M2 button will now initiate the "smear" action instead of a bottle throw - allowing the Clown to smear and mark a locker, up to 6 lockers. The Clown will take one of his bottles, remove the cork, and splash it onto the locker. Smearing after the 6th will automatically vaporize the earliest smear. Auras of smeared lockers will be shown to the Clown, while Survivors will see a faint pink cloud above/around the locker (need to look carefully in order to see).
Press and hold the secondary action button (Ctrl) while looking at a smeared locker to begin performing The Act. Survivors begin to hear a jack-in-the-box music.The Clown throws a bottle in the air (or just holds it above his head), smashes it with his weapon, and a thick gas cloud pours on him. Once the cloud dissipates, the Clown is no longer there, but teleports to the selected smeared locker just as the music ends, violently breaking out of it - similar to a survivor's rushed action, but causes the locker to be destroyed. The Clown continues at a regular 115% speed upon exiting a locker, while his terror radius instantly sets at 32m (not gradually starting from 0 to 32.) If a survivor happens to be inside the smeared locker when the Clown performs The Act, the survivor is pushed outside of the locker by The Clown and is immediately put into the Dying State. The Entity will repair the locker after 45 seconds, clean and without smear.
The Act has a cooldown of 45 seconds and its effects can be modified by add-ons. The duration of The Act is 3 seconds and can also be modified by add-ons.
ADD-ONS:
Oxalic Acid (Rare)
- A substance stolen from a drugstore that increases the volume of a solution, without increasing its toxicity due to its weak nature.
- Increases the amount of lockers The Clown can smear by 1.
Methylphenidate (Rare)
- Stimulates euphoria in the user, giving a surge of energy.
- Reduces The Act's cooldown to 30 seconds.
Street Uppers (Very Rare)
- Induces uncontrollable hyperactivity upon the user. Use sparingly.
- Speeds up the jack-in-the-box music and reduces The Act duration to 2 seconds.
Phenolphthalein (Very Rare)
- A liquid added to make some solutions colorless.
- Smeared lockers no longer show pink cloud.
Tainted Robe (Ultra Rare)
- A robe that gives wearers a mysterious look - intensifying cinematic effect and garnering more suspenseful reactions from the audience.
- Survivors no longer hear the jack-in-the-box music.
- Reduces the amount of lockers The Clown can smear by 3.
NOTES:
- The concept of the teleport animation is based on him being a clown. Majority of clowns perform magic tricks, and perform stuff meant to "surprise" audiences, and catch them off-guard, so this served as the inspiration for that.
- The Jack-in-the-box effect is meant to be a jump scare for survivors as The Clown is most likely to smear lockers near generators. The Clown will break out as soon as the music finishes, so survivors can choose to hide, or risk being attacked by staying on the generator. Also, the goal for the image of him breaking out of a locker is a deranged, violent jack-in-the-box.
PROBABLE ISSUES:
- The Clown is bigger than a locker, so clever animations or considerations are needed to make his break-out animation creepy and scary and avoid making it comical. But still, making it look comical can feel very menacing. (SOLVED)
- Some maps have few lockers. But I think this is very minor.
- Since there will be an abundance of add-ons for the clown, maybe some of the existing green and yellow add-ons can be downgraded one level to make way for this one? The current brown add-ons don't feel like any help anyway as they are too weak.
So that's it. Any thoughts guys? I hope you could upvote this post so it can have a chance to be seen by the devs. I mean, they just released the Doctor update, they're probably already working on something for the next update, so they have a lot of time to consider this idea IF they see it. I'm not requesting an upvote just to get popular. I'm also just posting my YouTube channel to show you that I'm a legit DBD player. I JUST WANT SOMETHING DONE FOR THE CLOWN. Hahahaha! :)
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX5DLu46paDGyPuQHJzE56A
UPDATE 1:
- Changed the animation from rushing out of a locker, to breaking the locker in order to compensate for The Clown's size.
- Added a timer for when The Entity will repair lockers.
- Teleporting to a locker now removes that locker's smear, to allow The Clown to smear other lockers without vaporizing previously set smears.
Reverse gas is something that would drive baby survivors mad and red rank survivors would be able to deal with it without too much issue.
-
Seems like it was only lip-service so they can say they did something about gen speeds. Didn't expect any actual impact. Now the devs can say "we addressed tool boxes" when people bring up how fast gens go.
-
SWF is not going anywhere, ever. They would lose way too many players and money if they did.

Doctor is top shelf nightmare fuel now. The entire game can crumble apart with Doc and all I need to do is use static blast occassionally.
Nurse people keep saying she is one walking bug report. Last time I played her I 4k'd on Labs so I dunno.
Spirit they keep nerfing her and she still stays good so that's very telling.
And Legion the more I play him, the more flexible he seems to be. I started using Blood Echo and taking away everyone's exhaustion perks appears to be very damaging. Also best farming killer.
Clown feels underrated seeing as how he has some really good add-ons, but the bottle limit can be annoying. Feels like a shooter where you need to reload your gun after only firing two bullets.
You completely missed my point. The Killers were only touched because Survivors found them "unfun" to play against. It had nothing to do with how good or bad they were. Given that Survivors are not complaining about Clown, he will likely remain low-tier garbage.
-
@Marcus said:
He is by far the worst killer in the game, he should be top priority when it comes to the next killer buffs.
If he is not "unfun" for survivors to play against, he probably will not be touched. Doctor, Nurse, Spirit, and Legion were all changed for this reason.

I stopped playing Killer altogether. Focused on Survivor. Got tired of dealing with Survivor queues and decided to "play something else."
-
Sure feels like it. Playing Killer feels like garbage, Survivor queues are long and games are quick. Last night was the first gaming night in awhile I did not play this game at all and decided to "play something else."
-
Yes.
- Queue times are awful for survivors.
- Survivor games are either too quick and easy or have a Killer using slugging, tunneling, and/or camping.
- Playing Killer feels like garbage, bullying from Survivors have increased greatly since the Ruin nerf.
- Matchmaking is awful, Killers of all ranks are regularly getting paired against purple and red rank Survivors. I suspect this is due to a lack of Killer.
-
- Trigger End Game Collapse
- Go to the basement
- Wait till game ends
- Play Civilization

@mylesmylo said:
Because I think that's the plan now, opening video for each new killer, or just mute your tv for 1 second to skip it is also a solution, complaining is easier then thinking of a quick solution I know
So, you admit the cinematic is loud and obnoxious. But I should have to go out of my way to deal with it, instead of the devs addressing and remedying the situation?

He has never been deemed by Survivors as "unfun" to go against. That appears to be the main criteria for any changes, whether they are high-tier (Nurse, Spirit) or low-tier (Doctor, Legion).

Both but I rarely tbag. Why is that the argument every time? "Oh you don't think it's toxic? You must be someone who does it all the time" because if you're a killer clearly everything a survivor does is toxic and the whole world's against you, so you MUST get mad at survivors pressing the control key at you.
Tbagging is meant to antagonize. Whether it is a tactical decision to get the killers attention or just to be toxic. It serves no other purpose. It is far easier for survivors to simply not do it than for killers to "start to not care about it."

I think they will too. And they just keep looking at stats. Eventually they will see a massive player decline and wonder why.
-
@Almo said:
I can't comment in great detail at the moment, but the stats are showing that the DC rate is noticably down from where it was before the penalties were restored.
As with everything in statistics, personal experience doesn't indicate how the system works as a whole due to a lot of issues, one of which is that humans are desperately terrible at monitoring probabilistic occurances in their lives. I have this problem myself; this is in no way intended as an insult or an accusation of any kind. I was under the impression that there are a lot of key escapes. Checked the stats on that... no. There are in fact very few key escapes overall. :)
This the problem with being so focused on statistics and not playing the game. The numbers don't tell you the experience. Dealing with a bunch of toxic survivors, then make a comeback only for them to mock you and get out via the hatch will stick with the player far more than other games. So does getting tunneled and camped. These are things people will remember and influence whether they engage in further play or not. The game is an entire experience, not a few numbers in isolation. Feeling bullied as Killer is a common experience and your statistics will not tell you that. Perhaps surveys will, but I feel like I wasted my time doing those.

Teabagging just isn't toxic lmao. People need to grow thicker skin on here and start to not care about it because it's one of the most tame things you can do in a multiplayer game that's not playing it """correctly""". Is it annoying? That's for you to decide but it definitely isn't toxic behaviour. The sooner you don't think about teabagging the better your experience with the game will be.
So are you a Killer who deals with tbagging or a Survivor who does it? I'm leaning towards the latter.
-
I highly suspect people have stopped playing Killer for good reason. Devs are going to have make some concessions real soon or they will not be coming back at all.

But, money.

Accurate. I have seen videos and read stories of games collapsing due to questionable decision making. It is another thing to see it in real time with a game I care deeply about.
-
If I had to guess. Too many people finished it through game play and didn't have to pay real money. Getting people to pay real money for the tiers is the whole point of Battle Passes. That is why they started in F2P games.

They do care about Killers, just not as much as they care about the happiness of Survivors! They just toss Killers a bone here and there in order to keep the players willing to play them complacent.
I haven’t been around long but from what I read on these forums and what I’ve watched on YouTube, being Killer was miserable when the game was new. Yes, it’s better now, but I feel that it’s only because the Devs were forced to make the experience more bearable otherwise they’d have to secretly implement an AI for Survivors to play against.
Pretty much. They need to keep playing Killer enjoyable enough they don't leave Survivors playing lobby simulator. Killer was probably at it's best before the Ruin nerf. With that and the sabo buff it is declining dramatically.
-
Bug that negatively affects killer? Not a priority.
-
@Inji said:
I can assure you that the devs do indeed care about killers. They make changes based on the game as a whole, meaning that they make changes on both sides.
Maybe not all in the same patches, but they do make forward momentum.
Personally would love to see breakable walls be implemented to other maps a well. Changes dont come over night unfortunately. So map changes will take time.
Unfortunately, their actions prove otherwise. Ruin was nerfed without addressing why it was used so much. Now they are pretty much placing all hooks at 99% sabo, so when killers do get a down, the hook gets dropped in their face. This would not be happening if the killer experience was a significant consideration.
