Agreed. The gens are even faster than before the patch and teammates are braindead in solo queue
It's hard to not think that you are just bad but when you see the evidence of that not being the case. Comes down to doing gens I think.
When I play SoloQ, I am the only one doing gens much of the time. The other Survivors are either self-caring, crouching around for no reason, hiding in a locker, etc.
When I play Killer, they are constantly doing gens. 1-2 will usually be done by the time you down your first Survivor.
You can see it with Prestiges in the lobby too. When I play SoloQ my teammates are 2 Prestige max, usually zero. When I play Killer (I can assure you my MMR is not high) I see 10+ Prestiges regularly.

You'll have plenty of time to improve your art then!

I like going against Clown and Myers.

There is no dimension or alternate reality where BHVR removes SWF. The game would be done.

Swfs will abuse this to high hell.
22 second self pick up means all you have to do is be under a pallet when you are downed. If you do this, the killer will never get a hook because if they pick up, they get flashed or pallet stunned, if they don't pick up and chase the other person with the light, they also can't be picked up if they go down under a pallet.
Precisely. Bullying the Killer will never have been easier. Toxic survivors are a significant reason I rarely play Killer and I don't think I'm the only one.

Since when did every killer player slug regularly?
I don't see this change getting in my way at all. Unless survivor abuse it with unbreakable which i do think should be nerfed with it's announced change.
Does every Killer pick you up immediately when you've been downed? Not me. They can remove Boons, break pallets, kick gens, chase off another Survivor who is trying to finish the gen right in front of them or one using a flashlight. Even if they leave me another Survivor has to come off a gen to get me up.
-
Rarely see it in SoloQ. Why would anyone use it and risk giving those sweet safe unhook points to another survivor? Now that Borrowed Time is base kit every unhook is a safe one (not saying that is a bad thing).

@Marik1987 said:
Biggest issue: teammates
That's the whole point. Escaping via the gates requires your teammates have some sense of what they are doing. I've had games were 2-3 gens were done and I did all of them myself. This is not uncommon. You won't carry the whole team if no one else is doing gens. So no matter how many unhooks you get, gens you do, or how long you run the Killer, MMR is going to think you are a poor player if you are not escaping. This results you being in MMR Oblivion. Sure you end up with some like you, but you will also constantly be paired with the worst of the worst survivors.

@Plsfix369 said:
Just revert it back to 50%, It was practically balanced before the nerf, and it would work at the same speed as COH but only for a single person.
That would still result in survivors spending too much time healing. If Self-Care had an incentive, SoloQ would greatly benefit.

@lachenstars said:
I agree that a form of Kindred would significantly close the gap between Solo Q and SWF. It's obviously worth a perk slot and I think it's pretty popular. I don't think it was in the top 3 most used survivor perks but I imagine it's up there. (How is Self-Care number 1?)
Having Kindred be basekit has been requested before and I'm pretty sure the Devs have specifically said they didn't want to go that direction, though I can't provide a source for that. Of course, they could always change their mind as well.
I think what will happen will effectively provide the same information through the HUD, as they have stated plans to give more information that way. So if I see a teammate's status go from "On Generator" to "Running" soon after another teammate gets hooked, I might be able to assume they are going for the save. It's not as good as auras, of course, but it's a good step in the right direction. Hopefully they implement something to help Solo Q sooner rather than later, but they promised it's on the agenda.
I have read about the devs "not wanting to go in that direction." Which leads me to question how well they understand their game.
-
@SoulKey said:
Oh yeah, i know that soloQ cycle. Once you are down to that low MMR swamp, it usually keeps dragging you down :D
You either have to entirely carry the game with chases and finish 2-3 gens or you play SWF to carry you to High MMR. No other options.
That about sums it up. If MMR didn't focus too much on escapes you could end up working with better survivors by simply doing well without escaping.

I feel you with the mending, though I really don't think Legion needs a change. They are very good at slowing the game down but are not OP.
Certainly do not think they are OP. The issue is it is a drawn out game defined by constantly mending.
-
It's comedic that playing the Killer in this game is mostly nerve wracking, while playing Survivor is pretty chill overall.
-
People do not have an issue with rainbow ranks if the match went well. It's something people notice when they go against a bully squad/toxic SWF. At least then, the experience could be explained. Now it just feels like it is being covered up.
-
Matches against bully squads in this game are legitimately some of the worst gaming experiences I have had, ever.

@BioX said:
Oh FFS HOW IS THIS SBMM SYSTEM BEYOND YOUR UNDERSTANDING, HOW??!!!
you DONT have to run ANYTHING.
You get matched up with players of equal skill, take away your crutch perks and you apperently do poorly? WELL GUESS WHAT?
That means you will be matched up in the future with survivors who also do poorly aka you get your balanced (fun) matches without having to force yourself to run anything you dont want to.
honestly people, this forum sometimes is just embarrassing.
The new matchmaking system is embarrassing. We have no idea how it works and I personally am getting worse games than before. I am not the only one. You have way too much faith in BHVR.

And yet I'm still being placed with sweat squads despite being ass with Pig.
Because MMR is a flawed system. At least with the previous system, we had some idea of what was going on. Here it is completely opaque.
-
No.
-
They never will. Of course, the overwhelming majority of Killers are going to dodge a 4-man SWF. If they can't get a game, they won't spend money on cosmetics.
-
First few times I have ever played a new Killer, Twins.
-
Given the amount of toxic survivors I have encountered recently, no way. No giving hatch, no avoiding tunneling, etc.
-
I'm someone who plays both sides. As a Survivor, being tunneled is an unpleasant experience. As a a Killer, tunneling is a completely reasonable tactic.

@MyNamePete said:
yo when they next dlc drops and you dont want their perks on your killers then maybe dont unlock their teachables? Nothing is forcing you to unlock them, you can still level them up without getting them.
If you don't, you are restricted to a single perk option for your subsequent webs until you take pick the teachable. Clearly a deterrent to force your to take the teachable.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
I think it should be limited to 2 things (perks, items, add-ons, offerings) that can be banned. Otherwise people will abuse it to have the bloodweb give only tombstone piece and Styptic Agent and OP/annoying stuff like that.
I am only referring to Perks. The other stuff works fine, IMO.

As a new player who only leveled Hag to 35 and Freddy to 50 after buying Barbecue and Chili... I can tell you, it really isn't that great even with basically no perks unlocked but the two you are looking for.
I am sure it gets much worse, but they are always diluted.
I can tell you it gets exponentially worse the more Killers you level.
-
I have said this before and I maintain it. Playing as Killer against a group of toxic SWF is literally the worst gaming experience I have had.
-
@Zaytex said:
Drop pallets early.
That's all there is, he's an incredibly boring and bland killer and there's nothing you can do outside making him kick the pallet.
But they did a rework on him, obviously that resulted in a far more interesting Killer!
Oh wait, instead of just slow bottles, they added fast bottles.

Try switching to another killer. My Hillbilly is in purgatory. Not enough players on my MMR level or something.
Tried it, no good.
-
Survivors are almost always going to find the hatch first, especially with SWF. 1 or 2 can be completely dedicated to finding the hatch. The Kill has no such luxury.

It's just one of the many things the Devs haven't got round to updating yet, such as FOV tied to perks and not as an option in the menus, Trapper and Myers' powers, exhaustion add-ons, fog offerings, bloodlust etc. It's not there because of SWF groups, no matter how much you want to think the Devs are biased and against you.
Should honestly be a very quick fix.
-
A lot of if comes down to overall decision making. Take note of how good the survivor is at looping. SWF groups will often have their best looper get your attention, while the others do gens. If you notice this, let them go and focus on the weaker players, their overall plan will thrown into disarray.
-
At the end of the day, Survivors are skins. They don't play any differently and can use other survivors teachable perks when they are unlocked.

"Unless you're a top-tier killer"
Do you mean if you're a good player? Because if so, aren't killers always talking about how the game needs to be "balanced around the best players". Unfortunately, if you don't meet the cut you'll just have to deal with camping & 1Ks.
No, I mean high level streamer. Tofu, Scott Jund, Umbra, etc. It will require an incredibly disproportionate amount of skill to counter a decent SWF group with new Clown.
-
The changes move Clown from garbage dump tier to garbage dumpster tier. As people have said, his counter-play is the same.
I fully suspect that very high level Killers will make great use of him. On the other hand, the overwhelming majority of Killers who play Clown are going to get bullied hard by SWF due to the speed boost from his new tonic.

I would LOVE to see proof of this. I'm waiting for vids.

Pop's duration is being reduced because we found you could spend too much time doing other things and still have it available.
Isn't that part of being a Killer? You are literally going against 4 other people. If you are a Killer aren't "doing other things" you are going to lose. But perhaps that is the goal here.
