Everytime I'm about to die in my dreams, I just stop dreaming but I'm still asleep? Like right before my sudden death, I stop, heat up immensely and wake up covered in sweat (but time has passed since I 'died' in my dreams so the sweat and my body heating up was long before me waking). It's really odd actually I don't know what happens when my dream ends, but I just sleep for hours apparently.

Hm, someone should donate and ask him to do a hair reveal.

If you haven't dusted your PC in two years, I guarantee that this is your issue, and you will DEFINITELY see a lot of dust come out of your fans when you finally clean them out.
Ok, thanks! So I should expect it to be as quiet as it used to be after I've dusted it out?

No clue, I've always used compressed air. I also have a bunch of case fans with filters on them, which helps. Summer is also the most annoying time of year for PC heating woes!

That would be fine too. I personally just have a can of compressed air here lol. Anything that can safely get the dust out of your pc works, it's really your choice.
It's strange cause this hasn't happened in the 2 years that I've had it. That being said, I've never known to dust it until recently though so it probably is dust. When we opened it, we couldn't see it though, or at least not where we were, but it could've been the lighting.
I'll go for an electric one, thanks. If the problem persists, you two mind if I consult you on your profiles for further advice? Ty a lot btw.

@Rydog said:
Have you dusted out your PC lately? Over time, that can lead to the sort of otherwise inexplicable heating/resource chugging that you are describing.
Electric dusters or compressed air? I'm leaning to electric for longevity. I'll set an order depending on what you and @MysticMusician say.
-
@MysticMusician said:
If the fan is noisy, then there's probably something with the fan. Have you ever opened your computer and cleaned out all the dust and dirt that gets in there? My fan has been super loud lately too, I haven't bothered to check it though because I'm lazy and I recently cleaned the inside of my computer. You should first check and just see if it's dirty and if so clean it will compressed air and stuff. If it's not that your fan may need to be replaced. If the computer is getting hot, and your fan is making noise, that's probably the issue.
Would an electric PC duster be better than compressed air? Since it can be reused again? Also, I'll open it up later, definitely.

Hey! I just realized I got confused on the dates. They were July 2019 and January 2020 respectively. My apologies. I have edited the post in question to be correct.
Lol, it's good. Still though, it shows that the devs are learning and designing more well rounded yet balanced killers. Keep guys guys!

I might play with Sloppy and Bloodhound for fun later.
It's how I learned how to track survivors when I first started out :)
Same lol, had it as a build for my bro once (he loved Wraith) he did super well as it. It's just a fun combo for new players, and Sloppy slows healing down now, so it's very versatile!

It's not quite as useless as you seem to be implying, and the SWF argument does hold some water, but overall I agree, people aren't giving it enough credit for how situational it is. Of course a powerful but highly situational perk or any other mechanic is going to seem overpowered if you only imagine it in ideal circumstances and don't take into account how often those circumstances actually occur.
It's like For the people all over again, lol.

Every killer uses BBQ and Pop like 80% of the time. This indicates a problem with those perks, not with any specific killer.
And Freddy is fun as heck.
Wouldn't say they're OP as perks though, just very good. If perks like Surge or Spies (yes, the nerf was too harsh imo) were meta again, you'd see a heavy decline in these perks.

Agree all killers should be buffed. And I play survivor most, but as a solo survivor I want the game to be hard. The killer should scare you with strong powers and make you feel you want to just hide in a locker all game. If the killers is very strong just doing 4-5 gens and then all die, could be something to be very proud of. Now over 50% of the games you stand on that exit gate..how fun and hard. Not.
Solo survivor is stressful and boring, but nobody ever said it's hard. Although saying ALL killers should be buffed is completely false. Oni, Spirit, Hag, Myers, Huntress, Billy, Plague, Freddy, Doc and Wraith are in great spots and if they were buffed, they'd become broken.

Myers isn’t that bad. He makes matches quite tense which is refreshing.
Probably the only thing I really DO NOT like is managing to successfully avoid him all match only to get caught for the first time late game and discover he’s using that insta-kill add on.
Probably one of my most memorable matches was against a Myers while I coincidentally had a stealth/aura blocking build of Calm Spirit, Iron Will, Distortion, and Sole Survivor. I just threw the build on randomly and when a Lery’s offering popped up (old Lery’s) I immediately had a suspicion it was Myers running those aura reading add ons. Within 30 seconds of the match starts I lose a distortion token and heard Michael’s heavy breathing. I thought “OMG what a fluke I thought to randomly chuck on Distortion & Sole Survivor”. It was a fun tense match that probably frustrated and confused this Myers that there was 1 survivor (me) that he could never find. I was the only survivor to escape.
One time, I was facing this Myers back when I was a toxic survivor main, and he had a tombstone, but my idiotic face didn't know, I was running Object of Obsession, DS (old OP one), SC and SB (back in the double exhaustion time this is wayyyy back). So I looped the crap out of him, it got to 1 gen and I wondered why he didn't pop his EW3, and he did, so I thought 'ok, time to teabag him and loop him again', this guy legit mori'd me out of nowhere LOLLLL. I was so salty, then we got talking and we got along pretty well. He's the person who convinced me to play more killer lol.

I mean if a killer does poorly and doesn't apply pressure to the gens their game can ends in a couple of minutes
If a survivor does poorly like being caught and messing up in chases the same happens, i don't see why it should be different
No, Huntress + Iri Head + Ebony Mori and any amazing team WOULDN'T have a single chance if the Huntress is decent. Yes, a decent Huntress could dominate them effortlessly with those addons. And there's more from other killers who are also difficult to beat no matter your teams' skill thanks to addons. Mint Rag Hag, anyone?
-
Eh, I just go to the first gen I see, if I get chased, I get chased.

I'd actually like that tbh, hopefully it's added. Wouldn't Surge become lowkey OP though, and also, how would you show it?

Not gonna be about nerfing or changing anything about it, just perks that are so boring to use and/or face against killers that you practically assume the killer is running it as soon as you know who the killer is(combo's excluded, but enduring and spirit fury tend to be interchangable here).
My list:
Billy and Bamboozle
Spirit and Stridor
Doctor and Distressing
Oni and Infectious Fright
Myers and Infectious Fright
Trapper and Sloppy Butcher
Wraith and Spirit Fury
Pig and Surveillance
Ghostface and BBQ
Bubba and Insidious
Clown and STBFL
Nurse and NOED
Hag and Devour Hope
Huntress and Nurses Calling
Freddy and Ruin
Plague and Thanatophobia
Legion and Thanatophobia
Demogorgon and Enduring
Deathslinger and M&A
Obviously some of the killers rely on the perk to have a decent match, but in many, MANY cases its just boring because it's so meta that you're essentially playing against the exact same killer in some points. I'm actually surprised if I face a Spirit without Stridor to a point where I might actually start trying to play ballsy again(which obviously affects me negatively) rather than being forced to run away and hope I can reach the nearest pallet before she can hit me.
Billy and Enduring.
Agree with the Spirit one.
Doctor and Iron Maiden.
Agree with the Myers one.
Also agree with the Oni one.
For me, Trapper and STBFL, he farms stacks SO easily.
Wraith and STBFL for me, he becomes very efficient at chasing and the hit and run tactic.
For Pig, I agree.
Bubba and Nemesis and PWYF.
Agree on Clown.
Nurse and Thanatophobia.
Hag and STBFL (one of the strongest killer + perk combos I've ever seen but also very cliche)
Huntress and Iron Maiden.
Freddy and Pop is cliche and boring to face.
Agree on Plague.
Agree on Legion.
Demogorgon and STBFL.
Agree on 'Slinger.

You gotta remember that theres more at play that is making the hits look wonky than just the hitbox on the hatchet. A survivor's hitbox is not the exact shape or size of the survivor. All survivors have the same pill shape hitbox making it equally as easy to hit Jeff as it is to hit Claudette, even though Jeff is visual much larger than Claudette. Factor this is with lag in that the survivor model is further back on the killer's screen than on the survivor's screen... It makes things look wonky.
To answer your question though, do I think if Huntress throw hatchet shaped projectiles rather than pill shaped projectiles would it matter? I think it would cause changes but not in the way you might expect. That same hatchet hitbox that seems to make it easier to hit survivors also often enough screw over the Huntress player in hitting objects in the enviroment. Think of boxes and such that make up loops for example and all the times Huntress players will try to throw over them. Those larger than life hitboxes often times makes contact with the boxes when it visually shouldnt, just as often as they make contact with survivors when it visual shouldnt. I think if you were able to change them to be hatchet shaped/sized and get them to work...it would kinda balance out because atm...its wonky for BOTH sides.
Ooh, that's interesting. So she'd become unloopable at short walls, but it'd also be harder to play? She'd have a ridiculously high skill cap to consistently win those though...

This is largely due to the long production lead times on stuff. A new Killer gets started on many months before the release. It is the immensely long-term planning required to create new content that causes seemingly small updates so long to appear. Just as one example, the Doctor update was first designed in July of 2018, and didn't ship until January of 2019. The delay was because the resources needed to produce that update were already committed to other content that released between those two dates.
Some small updates do get slotted in faster, but it's a matter of priorities. Discordance isn't so hideously busted that it warrants bumping other things out of the pipeline for it.
THAT long ago? Damnnn, if you guys knew what to do from even back then, then I have hope for the game.
-
I've always wondered if Huntress had proper hitboxes, would she be viable?

I genuinely disagree. Bloodstains are fine as they are. Hemorrhage doesn't give you anything you don't already have and shouldn't be considered the magical super power the Devs seem to treat it as. If the status effect was removed from the game tomorrow, nothing would change.
Eh, I find it very useful (increased duration). Guess we disagree on that. :3

Survivor mains, have you ever considered running a game off meta to try different perk synergies or play styles? If you only ever run the meta (DS, BT, DH, Unbreakable, adrenaline) why do you not change it up and what could convince you to? If you don't always run the meta, what are some great perks not being utilized?
I just had yet another game where the majority of the Survivors are opting for the meta builds.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/84TUV4IC3LIE/deadbydaylight-5-28-2020-9-05-41-pm-2.png
Lately I've been doing pretty well against them but it's getting so boring going up against the same tactics (bait the dead hard, 360 lunge the juke, slug the most recent unhook who is playing super bold suddenly, slug then find hatch before hooking the final survivor, camp slugged final survivor of possible) nearly every trial.
And since I also play a lot of Survivor I'd like to try out some cool builds.
Ngl, I run a meta build, but I've been running it since it WASN'T meta.
Resilience, Spine Chill, Lithe and Iron will. This used to be an off meta build, but after SC's healing got nerfed, this specific build became SUPER strong and is now meta. I don't switch it up because I'm not that confident anymore in my ability to survive without Resilience or to counter Stealth killers without Spine Chill (I did before my break all the time).
That being said, I should start getting used to the game without this tbh, would make it more fun.

@MadLordJack said:
It honestly seems like a "feature" at this point. Scratch marks have been growing steadily unreliable as a tracking tool, the Devs genuinely seem to think that the hemorrhage status effect is a good tracking tool, and sounds all but disappeared in a chase (for killers only, as survivor I hear just fine, the killers footsteps are loud and clear). It's been so long since I've been able to hear a survivor looping me that I will have to relearn the skill if sounds ever get fixed, and on top of that they randomly don't work even when you aren't in a chase.
I agree with you, aside from one thing though: Hemorrhage is actually great for tracking lol, the longer bloodstains and the increased blood trails make it lowkey good, especially when they try to locker juke you.

I've faced good Hags, but they're 1 in a million. Most of the Hags I face are between ranks 10-17 and place about 4 traps in every possible entrance or 3 directly at my feet.
Yeah, but good Hags would never camp. Place a trap AROUND the hook, sure, even I place 1 in the route I predict them using to unhook, and I use it to force the unhooked and unhooker back into my web if they do not trigger it. She's all about map pressure and forcing them back into her webs by cutting routes off. That being said, I face bad Hags a lot too, but when I face a good Hag, I show them a lot of respect when they win.

Myers always a fun killer to play. Which does remind me of the time i seen survivors being totally unaware i'm right bloody next to them. Healing up, totally unaware i was standing a few metre away from them. Only for their brains to kick in and go oh no and start to panic. One of the funniest moments i have ever had in game.
Lol, he used to be so dominant on Ironworks of misery (back when the infinite was there) I'd literally sneak up to them healing behind the window with M&A, see them healing using a Nurses Calling, and use good ol' STBFL to down them after I vault and block it cause of Bamboozle. Lol, they were so mad.

If you ever want to see just how interesting certain survivors can be. Slap on sloppy, nurse calling, two other perks of your choice. Than play as a sneaky killer. You will get to see all sorts of fun things, like the same survivor running over to the same corner each and every time, to self care under the effects of sloppy.
That and yeah solo survivor which i do all the time, yeah it can sometimes be interesting or match making screws up and you find out. OH yeah, all of your team mates are rank 20, no wonder they were acting odd as heck. That or the killer is rank 20, no wonder this was a super easy game. That and oh hey playing killer, at least i can get more than 5k blood points, if everyone starts killing themselves on hook or just giving up five seconds into the match. Even if the game goes poorly for me.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1313119#Comment_1313119
Yeah sometimes it fun to switch it up. Which due to killers working in different ways. Well hehe. Nothing like playing trapper every once in awhile and than watching everything come together as you begin to snow ball as survivor after survivor falls into your trap and you have fast recovery time, thanks to save the best for last.
Used to run those and M and A on Myers, was very strong.

I think people freak out that they're basically No Mither'd and assume that an insta down is better than being able to take two hits but...that isn't the case. Lol And don't even get me started on those that heal without a medkit or Inner Strength against a Legion lol
Ugh, had a team do that once and in the ######### corner, I died first, because I was the only one he could find cause I was the only one doing gens. I basically got tunnelled. That was a trashy game.

Maybe unpopular, but Wraith
People discover one or two builds on him that actually make him somewhat competitive and somehow he's actually a solid killer? I don't think so. Play him without add-ons and perks. Sure, his cloak can give you the drop on survivors but good luck using it in a chase outside of body blocking and actually landing hits on good survivors at loops.
He needs a secondary power, and that's on PERIODT
What would you give to him as a secondary?

Hillbilly. If you have to rely on an instant-down, then you are not a good killer. I don't give two flying fornications about "positioning" or any of those garbage excuses. You already have mobility and destruction in a button press, with no real cooldown. You don't need an instant-down on top of that.
Freddy is only as good as you let him be. Unless they hide the snares really well, he's just a basic killer who can occasionally teleport to a generator.
The Legion are actually really good killers, if you aren't desperate for 4 skulls at the end of a match. They are balanced around the emblem system and can easily rank you up with a massive amount of BP gain.
Doctor's designed to be annoying. He also has one real strength, and that's tracking. If you can loop effectively without relying on pallets or windows, he's really easy to beat. Lockers also just cancel Static Blast. Just jump in one of them if you hear the wind up. It's not that hard.
Hag should have the proximity to hook penalty applied to her if her traps are also close to a survivor. You may as well be considered a full-on camper if you place a trap within 10m of a hooked survivor.
You clearly don't know how to play Hag nor have you ever faced a GOOD Hag apparently.

Oh my god, people self care against a BLOODY LEGION it legit gave me so much rage lol, that I told my next team specifically NOT TO. Also, why do people cleanse against Plague? Yeah sure. But I am what many people here would call a „potato survivor“ and „git gud“ is simply not possible for everyone including me. Doesn’t mean I can’t loop at all but getting matched against „god tier“ killers is just matchmaking gone wrong.
Ah, I can understand man.
@Orionbash said:
That plays them to a God Tier level? Nurse, Oni, and Freddy (Which is pretty easy to do because he just has to exist. Freddy needs a nerf).
Oni in his power is really the only killer I have to difficulty looping. It was easy when he didn't have his flick because you just had to make tight turns and crouch but with his flick I find a lot of killers kinda expect it now and I just get downed. However it's not so much my lack of ability than it is the team's overall that bothers me. I wish that the main line of thinking for Oni was that once you hear his scream you hide. Yeah it makes the games longer but then there's no chance for snowballing and it turns Oni into an M1 killer with basically no power outside of add ons.
I also have a lot of difficulty looping Oni, but that being said, I do somewhat well, and manage to keep it up for a bit at least.

We all need it sometimes. I was crouch-walking in the corn once, and near enough came nose-to-snout with a crouching Pig. That was a good one.
Omg, one time when she was released on XBOX, I was getting chased by a Pig (kept it up for 2 minutes actually and you'll see why that was surprising), and anyways, my bro was right next to me, and while she was chasing me, I was literally screaming crouching b* over and over again at the top of my voice out of fear lol, only to see my parents standing in the doorway with the biggest look of disappointment LMAO. They just walked off without words...
-
I find it a lot of fun, and way more relaxing than survivor (unpopular opinion, I know) cause as survivor, I'm very tough on myself if I mess up (which I do a lot now after my break) and as killer, I pretty much play only the viable killers that can snowball. (cause all the snowballing killers are good, Billy, Oni, Myers, Hag, Spirit and etc...)
So killer is more relaxing for me tbh. Survivor, however, I get really stressed from bad teammates, me messing up when I shouldn't have, and my greed at pallets.

Ok, so I had this really nice team, on one of the autohaven maps, and it was a Trapper, right? And they were running him (Probably a 2 man SWF) and he had a basement camping build. It was the most FUN game ever! We were so coordinated (solos for me) and at one point, I went for a pallet save on the Trapper, and guess what? Someone came behind so he couldn't back away, it was so satisfying. The guy didn't chase me much though, he seemed scared to, even when his NOED procced, but one survivor was in basement and we had to leave her (Nea) she was so understanding about it, I was really happy, we all had fun.
For singular teammate, this girl on XBOX called Lady(and I wont say the rest, if your name begins with that, did you know a SecretSphinx7 by any chance?) me and her did duo SWF (no comms) all the time, and we always had fun against killers. She was also even with me on skill, it was awesome, we always had fun games, but eventually we grew distant, pretty sure she changed her XBOX username at some point. If you're reading this, you're awesome! :D
