The unlocks are random, you can get all of the cosmetics mentioned in the list Mandy posted.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2687726#Comment_2687726
As Survivor you get a random cosmetic of the mentioned list if you get hit while hiding in a snowman or if you escape while in a snowman, as Killer you simply need to hit a Survivor who is hiding in a snowman.
It doesn't matter the role or the character you are playing, you will get a random cosmetic from that pool.
(Sorry for repeating snowman so many times!)
Awesome - thank you!

@Kira4Evr said:
Wait, I don't quite understand.
Do I get an event cosmetic for a random survivor if any survivor escapes with the snowman? And do I just hit a snowman with a survivor inside it to get a cosmetic for a random killer?
You can hit the snowman with the survivor inside to get the cosmetic.

Okay - new question...can we win more than one ugly sweater?
-
How do I know which one?
ETA: Nevermind, stupid question.
-
Wait - I have a question. I was playing as Centobite and I won an Ugliest Sweater...whose is it?

That could be your problem. Wired might put you to nat 2. That is what happens for me on ps. And playing wired is recommended while playing online games.
Dunno if you are able to tho, I know not everyone has router in their room.
Yeah, I don't have access to my router so it's an issue that I can't really solve.
-
What if you die while in the snowman? Because that almost happened to me but I thought I might could make it if I sprint. I was wrong.

Yeah survivors can jump into the snowmen
Holy crap I didn't know that. I've just played killer and have been going around smacking the snowmen and they explode. I assume they just get injured but that is just an assumption.
-
As others have said, I'd only have a problem with "stealth" if you hid the whole match without contributing anything.
-
@Purple_Orc said:
Quick question. Do the survivors get injured or knocked down if you hit them while in the snowman, or is this just an extra health state?
You can get in the snowmen?!

I personally get annoyed at how I feel obligated to ignore these people to be nice. Being nice means you get taunted more often than not, so I've learned my lesson; If I see you afk, you're going immediately on the hook. If you come back, I'll give you a chance though, I'm not completely heartless.
Oh, was I supposed to ignore them? I always try to hook them before they disconnect.

@ProudRinMain said:
is the sound when playing killer still inconsistent and a buggy mess? Sometimes i wonder if i failed to hear a sound or it was because of the game -_-
I've noticed I don't hear the screams of some survivors...I thought maybe it was just a perk...
-
How has the Christmas events gone in the past? I only started playing on the beginning of the Halloween event.
-
I must admit I am guilty of this. With the influx of hackers nowadays, it's hard not to assume someone's hacking, especially if as a killer you can never seem to catch up to them.
-
I want to look good for the people I'm killing.
It's actually funny that you bring it up, because I just had a surv message me and tell me cool cenobite. :P

Well then see if customer service from xbox can help and see how it goes after that
A compromise you could find (after you reset your penalty) is:
- Play normally until you get a 10 minutes penalty (it should be the second or third dc)
- Stop playing for the day and don't play for the day after that (that will "soft reset" the penalty, putting you at a 5 minutes penalty again)
- Repeat
I am hopelessly addicted at this point. I literally don't know what to do without this game.
We've all been there, hopefully you can find some distraction from the game while you wait for the dc penalty to cool down and slowly work on finding a healthier balance
That sounds like a good idea. I will try that. And thank you for being so understanding.

If you want to buy a prebuilt PC, at least don't get one of those. The build quality is absolutely horrible, and Dell uses the absolute cheapest possible components in a far-too-small case, which happens to get a whole bunch of cheap plastic stuck around it to look cool. There are much better options for the same price.
Seriously, I saw a video teardown of one the other day, they had this dumb hinged design that placed the PSU right over the CPU cooler and choked the entire motherboard of air, on top of using an even worse cooler than the stock CPU cooler, and a bizarre proprietary motherboard so they could continue using extra cheap Intel cooler mounting positions for AMD CPUs. This was an 1800$ PC, and it was overheating in its stock configuration and thermal throttling, with some motherboard components almost certain to die down the line because the VRMs had no cooling or heat access.
Oh wow, thanks for the heads up! I'll admit I wanted it because of how awesome it looked and I had always heard great things but now I'm greatly reconsidering that.

Nor playing for one day and then playing 50 matches a day for 4 consecutive days was enough time for my penalty to go down to 3 minutes.
As long as you don't disconnect during those 4 days in which you are playing yes, it could be enough, but if you were to be disconnected during that period you wouldn't have reset your penalty, and since you (apparently) don't have control over when the dc is going to happen the only 100% failproof way of resetting it is not playing at all
my NAT settings are too strict.
You can change them, that's something you can start working on at least
The other problem is coming from XBOX Live's end. I don't see how I can feasibly fix that.
YOU can't, but you can probably ask support from customer service from XBOX Live? If there is really a problem on their end they may be able to help
DC penalties are doing their work, ramping up from 1 hour to 6 is done on purpose to let people understand that maybe, MAYBE they need to consider taking a break from the game, either because they are not having fun since they are dcing that much, or because they have to fix some technical issues
As far as the disconnecting goes, yes it's risky, but it's a risk im willing to take. My friend has an account on the same Xbox and has never been disconnected.
As far as NAT settings go, I have no control over my router, so there's not much I can do.
With XBOX Live, you're right, and I'm dumb for not even thinking of that.
Even if I wanted to quit playing, I am hopelessly addicted at this point. I literally don't know what to do without this game. And yes, I know how sad and pathetic that is, but I'm just trying to be straight with you.
-
Seriously considering it. Been eyeing an alien ware forever.

Not playing for one day is not nearly enough to go back to the 5 minutes penalty step. You need to go a much longer period of time without playing if you are at a 6 hours penalty.
Stop playing for a week, reset your penalty, try fixing or at least understanding the obvious technical issues you have.
There is no other way, apart of course creating countless times the same thread on the forums until at some point you become reportable for spamming :)
As far as the technical issues go, my NAT settings are too strict. So even if I had "superior" internet, I would still have issues. That's just part of the problem. The other problem is coming from XBOX Live's end. I don't see how I can feasibly fix that.

I'm not trying to spam. I just dont think people realize the severity of the penalty. This post was mainly for those that think it is "too lenient." From one hour to a six hour jump does not seem very lenient to me.

Stop playing.
Stop playing for a week, seriously.
Your penalty will reset and you won't face these long penalties after "one" dc
That is until you start dcing again, of course, but that's another issue that YOU need to solve on your end
I stopped playing for a day and then was able to play again with no d/c. I can go four straight days no issues, fifth and sixth day issues, stop playing seventh, resets. That's my life now.
I average about 50 games a day so I'm able to lower it pretty quickly, but that also means it grows pretty quickly too unfortunately.

167/184 (and for fun, I have 81 days, 5 Hours, and 26 Minutes of play time)
Some of them will be easy to get once I actually go do it (like throw 1,000 hatches or using Yamaoka's Haunting to down 30 survivors; just killers I don't like to use) and some I just never expect to do ever (like From the Void she kills to chain 3 blinks together and grab someone, which I'm not even sure if possible anymore without a survivor purposefully allowing you to do it since the only way to chain 3 blinks now is using the add-on that means you can't go through walls)
Unless I'm going for Adept, I don't change what I'm doing to try to get the achievements in this game. I just naturally stumbled into the vast majority just playing the game for almost two years now.
Oh wow. Yeah I haven't even attempted the adepts, just been doing mostly what comes naturally. (I have been making more of an effort to close the hatch though.) I've been playing since October.

I feel it. I had this problem when I first started years ago.
My advice for people who get that mad is usually to try and force themselves to laugh at the ridiculous nonsense that goes on in matches. It feels stupid at first, but I've noticed a lot of streamers laugh at the things that would normally piss me off, so I started doing it too, and it really did work lol
It's not a getting mad issue actually lol. I've only wanted to rage quit once and I fought the urge because my ban time was at a half an hour. It's blips in my internet combined with host connection issues with XBOX Live. It's ridiculous. I don't know what I'm supposed to do.

Time and time again, I have seen Chain Hunt interrupt a survivor. They break free, try to solve the box, and then get interrupted again. This tells me that people don't understand how to solve the box when they're being attacked by chains.
Why it happens
It's very simple. When the chain attacks you, the 2nd one will begin spawning as you break free and then try to solve the box again. While additional chains will not spawn while you are solving the box, but will not magically cause any current chains to despawn. That chain interrupts you, another one is free to spawn, and you're trapped in a cycle.
Solution?
Dodge. Yes, really. Wait for a second, dodge a chain, and while the chain is reeling back/despawning, attempt to solve the box. During this brief window, you can solve the box free of any interruptions save for the Cenobite himself.
I know to some this may seem obvious, but if this helps even one person out there, then this post was worth it. Now, let's get back to petitioning for the Voice Lines to come back someday.
Ssssshhhhhhh.....

Yeah, the mobile game is ok
- Plus side, it has some features the PC version is missing. For one, it has AI bots that take the place of someone who disconnects, and you can also create custom matches with AI opponents if you want to mess around or play with a few friends but are short people. It also has a system more like a bloodpoint store (if I remember right) than the bloodweb with random items
- The downside for me is I don’t like playing an action game like this on my tablet. Virtual control sticks just aren’t as good as mouse and keyboard.
I'm going to look for it right now!

I'm getting endless matchmaking and can't find a game, so I'm definitely seeing issues. I only saw that particular error pop up once though, I did get another error as well but only recall seeing the timeout specific issue once
Ah okay, then it's not just me. Was beginning to think I was the only one around here not getting into any matches.

Yeah saw that one but only once, interesting. We can assume then that the new matchmaking system (or parts of it) are built on top of AWS, which is currently down. Will be interesting to see how long AWS takes to make their fix, and then if this immediately fixes the issue at BHVRs end.
Hm...I just saw it for the fourth time.

I'm still getting a matchmaking timeout error.
