I was about to say this. 40 minutes I didn't know what to do with myself. And now the servers are down? #########?

  • I like, like, 3 of you.

  • Oh the sweet relief once the hatch is found.

  • I think survivor is more stressful. You are being chased by a maniac and you can die. Plus you have to rely on others to potentially save you. But I also feel that killer is more difficult. I mean come on, it's 4 vs. 1!

  • @drakolyr said:

I had 4 matches in a row, someone gets caught and dc's instantly.

Most of the time, the matches are lost.

I think you should be even more punished for leaving. I dont talk about internet problems, but if you get kicked out because of internet problems that the punishment will be to much, you shouldnt play an online game anyway.

Also i think the hatch was a bit overnerf. Atleast the keys should not have 5 secs, maybe 1 so you cant camp and tbag.

Would be also helpfull if you hear it closed.

    What do you think?

    Don't. Even. Get. Me. Started.

I will say though, that I found out that some "internet problems" are actually caused by what you are playing your game through, i.e. steam or xbl

The mobile game has a different system though if you play that.

......there's a mobile game? I can be playing this when I'm out and about?

Had enough. Uninstalled 5 minutes ago and came to write this post.

    • devs actually claiming SWF is not cheating LOL. Sold their souls to the devil (figure of speech)
    • the broken mechanics that all favor the Survivors
    • the insane grind required to unlock the good perks so you can compete better
    • Being forced to run Lightborn or else suffer the toxic flashlight abuse
    • the most famous Killer on your roster (Myers) is trash tier and dependent on grinding BP to buy addons (Myers is the entire reason I bought this game + DLC on my 1st day in the first place, imagine my disappointment on finding out how trash he is compared to other Killers)... but the dev's don't care because he's an old release and most of their playerbase already has him. If there's no money to be earned, why improve your game, am i right?
    • lol @ the devs doing an Epic Games giveaway in order to re-fill the ranks of people who will quit to VHS/Propnight etc. Why bother fixing the game? Nah, just get new suckers to come in to replace those of us who leave.
    • i could go on and on but i'm not going to.

The new killer is good but it's not my style.

I bought this game a week or two before Halloween Oct 31 2021. I'm leaving to greener pastures. Propnight is way more fun.

I've seen enough, and I would never have left if it wasn't for the devs attitude and lack of integrity. SWF is clearly an unfair advantage, knowing the location of killer at all times is THE SINGLE MOST important factor in any game. Anyway I'm done talking to a brick wall who just cares about selling their souls to take the easy road.

Bye. I'm off to Propnight. It's fun.

What makes Propnight more fun? Serious question, as I am trying to find a game to play while banned from DBD.

How about a tutorial to teach survivors not to cause camping?

If I see you hiding beside the hook while I'm hooking, or if you rush me, bodyblock, attempt sabo, I'm not leaving, BECAUSE i KNOW YOU'RE RIGHT THERE. If you're clicking at me the whole time I'm hooking, I'm going to look for you, right there.. If you run me around the hook, I'll chase you around it as long as you want me to.

If you're near the hook when I'm hooking LEAD ME AWAY IN A CHASE. It's easy as hell, but you have to get close enough for me to chase, just seeing you tb across the map isn't what I'm talking about. If you're standing there watching me, I'm comfortable waiting it out.

The only thing that can stop me is doing gens, but don't do that.

And I would do the same. Well, I wouldn't facecamp. I would look for that survivor. That is not what I'm talking about, though.

  • @EddyStylez said:

Deathslinger is a really unique killer. It turns the game into a shooter lol

Funnily enough, I wouldn't play DBD for a while because I didn't like stealth games, I liked shooters.

  • @Fantasy said:

Sometimes survivors get good spawns and get a gen each to start on and the killer chases the 4th survivor.

That 4th survivor just needs to last A MINUTE in a chase for 3 gens to pop by the time they are put on a hook.

Being chased for a minute is very easy to do if they are half decent and aren't stingy with pallets.

If that happens the game is pretty much over after one chase with 2 gens left and the killer feels hard done by.

This is why corrupt is meta and a lot of killers struggle when they don't have it.

Just want to have a discussion on this and what could be done to help with this issue?

Um...no. Network Connection Not Found/Host Disconnection.

  • @Lynxx said:

If the question was even remotely valid, especially whenever I hear 'killer main' which is funny self term - play survivor and a lot of it.

If you get good at it you learn exactly what they will do and it will make you a far better killer than if you're just a 'killer main'.

It was a joke. And I play both sides. I just prefer killer.

  • @Mandy said:

Play both sides of the game.

    What she said.

  • @IsMmrReal said:

There is too much nonsense going on right now to have a penalty in place. Being force dcd is the only reason I dc and I am penalized for it? Makes zero sense. Cheaters still run rampant and nothing is done about it. Please atlease alleviate this dc bullshit.

I agree there are problems with the disconnection penalty. I believe there should be one, but a less harsh one in place. 3 minutes is nothing. But that accumulates rather quickly, and some issues like you stated can not be helped.

  • I feel bad. Like, really bad. So, what happened was, I got totally outplayed by three survivors (the fourth disconnected). One of the survivors I was personally after because he shined a flashlight in my eyes making me drop another survivor, who I was personally after because she was supposed to be mine. The third survivor I was personally after because I could never catch him and instantly suspected speedhacking. Well, at the end of the game they open the gate and I catch flashlight man and hang up. I'm pretty upset at this point so I hit him a couple times and then hackster guy comes up to unhook him. Well, I grabbed him, noticed survivor three behind me, dropped him, whacked survivor three (who was already injured) and she drops. I then turn around, and whack successfully unhooked survivor one and he's on the ground. And then leave them. But the story doesn't end there....

To make matters worse, I decide to go stand at the exit gate and wait for them to crawl their way there. Two eventually make it, and just as they're about to cross, I shake my head no, and carry them back and drop them again. I know i am going to hell, and I deserve it. This guilt, it pains me greatly.

  • Oh no problem, it wasn't from me, a Dev actually popped in and wrote it. I found it very helpful!

  • This was taken from another thread:

"Hey friend! Maybe I can help clear things up:

Grades are not used by the matchmaking system. They used to be called "Ranks" and were used for matchmaking, but that is no longer the case. Grades serve as a monthly tracker for how much time you spend playing, based on the Emblem system (Emblems turn into pips, and pips turn into Grades). You can't lose a grade through de-pipping anymore, either! At the Grade Reset on the 13th of each month, everyone goes back down to Ash IV and starts the climb again, and they get a Bloodpoint reward for their previous Grade. Get your Grade higher, and you get a bigger reward!

MMR is an entirely separate value used for Matchmaking. It's hidden, meaning you don't get to see it. It has absolutely no connection to Grades: Your MMR doesn't directly influence your Grade, and your Grade doesn't directly influence your MMR. MMR doesn't reset each month, but it is constantly adjusting based on match results to try to find you balanced games. This is why it's called SBMM (Skill Based Match Making), it's trying to measure your skill and put you in matches with similarly skilled teammates / opponents.

We've been considering removing the Grade icons from the post-game screen due to this confusion. I was hoping we could leave them there to allow everyone to have a little way to show off / have some bragging rights, but I've seen lots of people confusing Grades with MMR (understandably so!). What do you think? Should we hide the Grade icons on the match summary?

Thanks for taking the time to ask your question! I hope this explanation has helped clear up some of your confusion so you can get back to enjoying the game. <3"

That's pretty much a worst-case scenario: teleporting over because you don't have another, better target and jumping straight into being looped is the better solution.

Sometimes it's someone you'd rather be chasing for other reasons, but that's... about it. Or they're being dumb and doing it in a field, but "my power is viable only if the Survivor catastrophically misplays" is bad power design.

    Okay.

  • @RainehDaze said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2681280#Comment_2681280

Teleporting with Pinhead is actually one of the worst things you can possibly do with him. It ends the Chain Hunt for another two minutes (unless you can find the box spawn). You start off at least 10m away from a Survivor, and by the time you teleport they've broken the chains (so that's a normal chase at best). Most decent Survivors realise to just get into a jungle gym or something now and you'll end up teleporting to them facing a wall, so you won't even have LOS and you're asking to be looped.

His only advantage is the chain hunts but they nerfed the ability to maintain those because people were just bad at dealing with it if he was actually in a viable position to keep them going--i.e., half his perks and both addons devoted to having mapwide pressure. Guess they'd rather have pressure via gen slowdown etc. and the usual perk offenders.

Most of his addons are completely pointless. Extra range is between useless (takes too long to get portal out of standard range) to harmful (misses are extra bad). Reduced CD or turning speed don't do anything. Greasy Lens is somewhat helpful with Engineer's Fang (still good, but it's one-hit-now-be-M1 killer), and so's the deep wound one. Impaling Wire does nothing against Survivors who just know to dodge the followups. Chatterer's Tooth + Iridescent Box can be fun for a stealth killer/info combo though (and forcing people to come for the box at more predictable times, or waste time searching).

His M2's tendency to screw itself over by chain spawn and Pinhead breaking it and addons in general need another pass.

Hm...guess I'd rather find a survivor then not find a survivor though.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

So his antiloop is questionable in strength, like sure you can hit it through walls but the actual antiloop is pretty bad considering they just break within no time what so ever especially considering environmental objects insta break instead of breaking faster.

His power takes more skill than most antiloop powers from clowns bottles to freddy snares yet it's not even stronger. Getting consecutive hits can be hard especially on aware and good survivors (this is if they bother to even dodge as his antiloop isnt all that).

His chain hunt takes awhile to start, and can be stopped insanely quickly. This can be done by 1 person grabbing the box which stops the hunt for everyone else and only takes a short time to solve the box.

Now his addons which could somewhat improve his games from solve time to chain hunt activation speed got mega nerfed to the point of them being garbage.

Is there any reason to actually play this killer now? Higher skill cap than quite a few killers in terms of hitting people yet isnt rewarded for it. For comparison Clown seems to be better, more consistent and just easier....

It's all about the chains, baby!

I use Pinhead quite often and win quite often. (Mind you, I probably have quite the low MMR.) As far as his box goes, as soon as a survivor picks it up, he can teleport to it and get that survivor. Plus, if he finds the box, he can not only start the chain hunt instantly, but also see the auras of the survivors for a few seconds. I don't like what they did with his chain whip (maybe that's just me, but it seems "softened"), and I hardly use add-ons as I'm really bad at using his special. (I'm just not quick enough with the aim and fire)

I own one of them, such a cool skin(s) but I never see someone using them, sadly. I don't even rememeber last time I saw legion with this skin. Maybe last year if any.

I saw one the other day and got confused. I thought, "Am I chasing myself?" Then I remembered, "I am dumb."

  • Well the Bunnies, obviously.

  • @Zlaraki said:

So everyone is dead, the killer picks you up and runs in circles, drops you then does the ballerina on you as well, clearly enjoying every bit of it. He goes away for a while, presumely closing the hatchet. Now he drags me to the exit, lets me revive and hits the control panel. I was relieved for a moment, halfway through the panel I stopped, I just had this feeling the killer was waiting for the ultimate satisfaction killing me right before the gate opens. I decided to die with pride and Tbagged right infront of him until he was pissed off enough to hang me.

Would you have risked your pride and take that chance to escape?

I had a survivor the other day I closed the hatch on because my challenge was to close two hatches. Then I carried them over to the gate and waited for them to wiggle free. They never did. I would drop them, pick them up again, "wiggle" them, spin them around and nothing. So I had to just hang them. Their loss.

Don't know about you guys, but I literally never ever see Legion anymore. I see more Billies than I do Legion, which by all means, I'm not complaining. I'm just saying, what happened to all the Legion players? I used to see one at least every two matches. I see more Billies, Clowns and even Trappers than I do Legion.

Gotta say I dislike Legion a lot, but I'm actually really curious if I'm just not getting matched up with them anymore, or if there has been a literal decline in the killer playerbase that is in relation to Legion.

I play him on my buddy's account because he's got Frank the Bunny and I really like Frank the Bunny.

    Sigh.

Hey Pizza, let me see if I can shine a light on this for you, as you are somewhat new. This may come over as harsh, but that's not my intention.

    • Certain killers (Trapper, Bubba and a few others) have kits that feel designed for camping, and not camping to some degree is almost playing the game wrong.
    • Facecamping is nasty, and BHVR are working on a mechanics change to prevent it. However, proxy camping is entirely legitimate and just how this game plays out sometimes. If I've got a survivor hooked in a corner, then me not patrolling past them or trying to predict and catch incoming survivors is essentially throwing the game.
    • On some killer/map combinations, camping can be the only way to secure a kill. I personally don't facecamp (unless someone BMs me) - with the exception of the EOGC if I've got 0 kills. It actually turns the 'endgame' into an endgame. A crisis point for the survivor team where they need to choose whether to risk themselves or abandon their comrade. I think this is totally fine.
    • Facecamping at 4gens is about as much fun for the killer as it is for the survivors. When a killer is doing this, it's generally because they feel that there is no other playstyle that has a reasonable chance of working. It may be that they've had a bad run of matches, got a terrible map for their build/killer or have been thrown into an SWF with infinitely more experience than them.

When players start resorting to an unfun, tedious playstyle, that generally suggests that the balance of your game is squiffy.

    I stand corrected.

You draw very small boxes to make yourself right, it's a bad exercise. I'm going to play how I need to in order to win, I'm not sure how you got to "Well, respect t-bagging then." As someone already said, t-bagging doesn't complete gens.

Noone cares what you were talking about by losing points, killers lose more points not getting hook states, period. Defending those hook states is a net gain in points, even weighed against the penalty when the SWF squad is unapproachable otherwise.

Also, your anecdotal experience does not make for a compelling argument. This isn't hard.

I've edited this several times to be as nice as possible:
