  • This is one that I got over but it scared me at the time. The Brother's Grimm.

As someone who couldn't stand loud noises and sudden changes and was claustrophobic within the movie theatre, I should not have seen that when it came out. Then I watched it on tv and it's my favorite movie now (doesn't scare me anymore). I think I was like 10/11 (definitely younger than 13).

  • DLCs have gone on sale for ps4, but that only happened a few times. Is it bad that my heart actually skipped a beat when I saw the number? As someone in debt from school, this just makes me depressed.

I like the idea of shards, but yeah they are annoyingly hard to get. If there was another way besides leveling, that would be awesome. I prefer this to spending actual money, but I'm wasting my life trying to get the required amount of shards. It just isn't worth it then.

  • Personally, I like the Sloppy/Thana combo over Enduring/Spirit Fury. It isn't really chasing that's bothersome, but keeping pressure. Sloppy and Thana does that if they choose to heal, if they don't then I make them pay. :P

Then the typical BBQ and Ruin. Pretty much just run a slow-down build since Legion is good at chasing (could be better). I use to use overcharge before I got BBQ..... people dc'ed because I patrol more than get baited.

Add-ons, whatever works with your style really. I don't really use them so I have a stockpile.

Just a tip about the wiggle bar that a ton of people still don't know, if you spin the analog stick rather than move it side to side it also works. This method is also far easier on the controller and is more effective than moving side to side.

Unfortunately I have done that as well, because of my Resident Evil 6 experience. I'm still murdering it even when I'm not doing it too hard. I also have to palm it because I just get sore (and have tendonitis in my thumb). But yeah, pro-tip that will probably work for literally anyone else. -_-

  • How does it activate if you aren't being picked up?

  • I get dizzy.

It's so boring that I've had killers just leave me alone when I go to a rock. When I'm killer, I'll do it the first few times. Then I get motion sick and move on to someone else.

  • Change wiggle button (console). My left analog stick is broken.

Change lighting/graphic settings. I play during the day sometimes and I can't see anything. Sometimes I can't see things when it's nighttime.

Toggle special effects and some way to lower the Clown's visual effect. I cannot play against him more than a few times with how much it bothers me. Nurse fatigue, legion fatigue, now Ghostface. Makes them hard to play. I actually look away from the screen when in fatigue with legion. People have mentioned a colorblind option.

    Better sensitivity (console).

  • Spare me please? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Quarantine. Maybe because I saw it when I was young and dealing with other issues, but anything with a real life premise scares me. Like I mean ######### that could very likely happen, but not slashers or realistic in that way. I find those funny.

he offerend no way of having a discussion, just two paragraphs of bashing survivors.

And yet here you are having a discussion....

Plus, other people commented and he commented back, so it's not a monologue. It was thought-provoking enough to reply.

  • A discussion doesn't need to be a question. He(?) brought up a certain idea that may affect other people. As someone who had a differing view, I did not feel attacked. I feel like I could have a civil discourse and you kind of ruined it.

I mean, if the entire 5 players in the trial use BPS at the same time, making it 500% with 100% from BBQ and 2x from Blood Hunt, you'd be more inclined to not play sweaty. Or at least that's what i'd imagine some Killers would do.

But most times I put a BPS, and nobody contributes... Its kinda odd since its a X2 where people are expected to use them now.

I must be unlucky. I don't really give an offering anymore, but I know that I don't have enough BPS for all the games I play. It'd be different if someone asked so I could politely say that I don't have any more, which would be the truth. My bps are going to my killers.

  • I love using them and the killer ends up ruining my day and I get the least amount of points. Woohoo. This has happened every time I play them, double bp event or otherwise. I've even gotten 'I'm sorry' messages postgame. Does that count?

Or the killer goes super sweaty with BPS and none of the survivors actually benefit.... I'd rather you didn't do that then. Just do survivor pudding or something else instead.

  • @Zhavorsaria said:

    O. That actually does sound doable. does this mean you don't even have to down the survivor with your special power? :o

    Nope.

  • Or that could just be her new ambush ability. Instead of the hidden blade in that action it's a syringe. Her normal attack would still be the blade.

  • That's not right. That hamster is awake!

To help her during ambush/short loops, how would you feel about an abduction? IE, if she successfully lands a 'grab-like attack' out of her dash, she stabs them in the neck with a syringe that has 2 effects:

    • Incapacitates the survivor, allowing them to be carried to the hook.
    • Has a 'wake up' mini-game that must be played before the survivor can begin wiggling. If they succeed the game, then their wiggle meter is filled by a certain amount, giving them a chance to break free. If they fail the mini-game, they must start wiggling without a bonus to the attempt.

    This is genius.

For jump scares in game: Shape.

For most horrific appearance in game: Hag.

Least scary in game AND real life: Legion. Just some muppet in a hoddie with a crappy mask. Would probably go down with one punch.

The idea behind legion is cool. The fact that you don't know if someone could be a murderer. These average young adults wouldn't look threatening, but do all real life killers? So the idea behind them just fell short, sadly.

Would you mind also posting your Steam ID or ID for whatever platform you play and tell us more about how you intentionally disconnect on loading screens in order to make sure games don't start because you don't like the offering loadout screen?

    I see what you're doing there. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Tunnel down someone who has BT. Or frenzy hit than m1 them. I think that the BT change makes it not a legion thing so the achievement is now misleading and something else should be there that's legion-specific.

On your second point, I feel like this situation will happen no matter what if the Pig player wants to get 'creative'. That said, it's not a particularly good strategy, nor will it win you games most of the time as the killer won't know which box you need unless they watch you the whole time your trap is activated. In that case, they were going to make the game extra fun for you no matter what you did. Though the point about large maps and RNG placement making things extra difficult is noted, this could be the one situation where a big map might swing slightly in a non-mobile killer's favor for once. That is, if they can get some momentum going to begin with.

What I'm trying to do is raise her lethality/threat so that more deaths can occur as a result of her main power, especially if survivors choose to just ignore it. No killer power should ever be rendered moot.

Sorry, got side-tracked by another thread.

I was just thinking about how someone could argue from the other side. Maybe a time tweak, not necessarily 20s, would be cool. If they also considered fixing her non-mobility issue, than this might not be necessary. I get what you're going for. I'd love to see more heads pop (or compensation for the lack of them). It would be cool if she could 'sabotage' like a gen or something. Or sabotage the trap so that it goes off in endgame.

  • @kamisen What platform do you play on?

Not directly - but usually it's a pretty big indicator.

Disconnects happened. Legion came out. Disconnection happened 10x more. Yep, totally not the most likely reason.

Logic, it doesn't exist in your world.

Which is why I asked for a full report, because just saying random numbers isn't fact. People disconnect when they are losing, doesn't matter who the killer is. Something new in a game brings a challenge. No one knew how to face legion, so they disconnect. They did not bother to learn and adapt. This comes from people expecting an easy killer to bully. So no, it wasn't legion specifically. It's the mentality that this game has been fostering. Also, they cannot tell if a dc is the server kicking someone out or that person pulling the plug. Plus, the dc problem has been and will continue to be rampant within this community.

General consensus isn't always right. Truth and agreement are two different things.

Yes in this case. The laws of logic and reasoning don't cease to apply just because you want them to. Reality doesn't shift in response to human opinion.

You cannot educate someone who does not want to be educated.

"Just because there was a correlation does not mean it was causation."

Actually, usually, that's exactly what it means.

Ummm, actually no. But agree to disagree. Correlation is not causation. There's too many other unaccounted (even accounted) for factors that saying just this one is responsible is not true.

  • @MasonMyers69 said:

This is why people DC, they DC then killers get nerfed so they're easier to play against, then they won't DC. Shouldn't nerf killers based on disconnects :\

^ And you know, how many legion players have stopped playing? How is it known that it was legion specifically causing the dcs? Just because there was a correlation does not mean it was causation. I just really wanna see the full statistical report.

  • I appreciate you putting an idea out there. I would do it. It would make sense because of Nea in a character sense. Maybe you have to do something based on the character you play as for a fun little extra challenge (like the dailies). ๐Ÿ˜

  • Look it up. It's in DnD/Pathfinder if you're interested.

  • @BadMrFrosty said:

Here are two ideas I'm kicking around:

    • When Pig places a trap on your head, it's activated immediately. This will promote people rushing around to get it off ASAP, not only after contributing to gen completion as much as they can before looking for a key.
    • Whenever a generator is completed, the timer of all active traps on survivors is decreased by 20 seconds. The more generators they complete before taking the hat off, the less time they have to search boxes.

What about those as a start?

Your first point: It makes sense from a character perspective. Amanda was known to rig her traps. Having an actual trigger is something that John would have done (and did to Amanda). I wouldn't mind.

Second point: Along the same lines as being more in character, but that might be too hard. Just thinking of how I have immediately gone searching with an activated trap and almost died because the map placement of the boxes or because Amanda was crouch camping that last box I need.

  • You have four people trying to fill up the same categories versus the one person as killer who doesn't have to compete with others for the points. So yeah, that one person who has a monopoly is going to make more than the four who are competing. In terms of cost, killers spend more bloodpoints because of add-ons being used up. Survivors don't have this problem, so they do not need to accrue more bloodpoints. You can also found items in chests while killers only have the bloodweb and the RNG that might screw them over more. In business terms, it makes sense for killers to make more than survivors.

  • I don't cope.

Seriously, find chill people to hang with. This is one of the worst times to solo.

Take breaks if you find yourself getting stressed. Do other things you enjoy. Your health comes first. Those extra bps aren't worth it.

  • Yeah, you'll just make them leave (altogether or DC). It'll just make the DCing worse since these people don't care. Not with the faster queues. But I'd genuinely love to know how that goes for you.

  • Hear hear! I would recommend Psychoscorpionz (I might have spelled that wrong), but he's a piggy main that streams.

LOL "Tapps bodacious body". I'm dying. Wow, even Ghostface is more loved curls up in the corner

Add-ons and the roar, for the love of god please. Better crouch speed and give the peek to her as well (or you know, fix the height you see at when she crouches - she's small but not that small). Pretty much agree with Victory on some more in-depth things.

  • So you're mad that they are ineffectively mining bp themselves? I highly doubt you'll change anything with this PSA. All the potatoes that don't normally play are around for the event and they don't give a ######### about anyone else. Same thing is happening to me (PS4 player as well). Either make them take the next hit or book it to a loop.

  • @TAG said:

If I'm being honest, I'd rather have Amanda's ambush attack be buffed rather than have her gain the ability to grab someone without having to uncrouch.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/526458#Comment_526458

No way. I may not be fond of Ruin, but I would never think the traps are better at slowing down Survivors than Ruin. With the traps, I need to hope that I can end a chase quickly just to have one person temporarily slowed from doing gens whereas Ruin slows everyone down from the very start. You say that Ruin can get cleansed in 15 seconds, but I can say the same thing about getting a Trap off.

As I've always said before, I believe her Ambush is weak, her Traps are too inconsistent, and she's probably one of the weaker characters in the game IMO. That being said, I'd want to see the weak part of her crouch ability (the Ambush attack) be made better, not just ignored more in favor of grabbing.

I would take anything to help my girl out. I want to see more of her in game. Petition to give her the love she deserves?

purely opinion, they are still by far one of my favorite killers, and while this echo chamber of a forum that contains under 10% of the player base doesnt indicate it, if you actually pay attention to some of the less toxic streamers, and just the game in general, they are pretty popular overall. I didnt even like them before, because of the playstyle they encouraged, but now that thats been removed, and experienced legions focus more on the pressure playstyle, all is well.

Not really an opinion. I still play as legion and have been called a legion main (I don't believe in maining personally), and there's too much frustration there. And before you boo-hoo that I know nothing, I did get to red with by playing them only before reset.

Most of my bp are wasted trying to get at perks because the add-ons are pretty much garbage now. I watch some chill streamers and they say he needs tweaks, because his power can be used against him. His power barely applies the needed pressure, the player still has to work hard to win. You can't really catch up to survivors with FF and the stun just adds more distance. Vaulting is just silly with them, which wasn't a big issue before the nerf. It's still more profitable to try and 'tunnel' with them, they just don't relay on FF as much.

    Yes.

I had a Survivor game on The Game, and barely two minutes in, two people DC. Thirty seconds later, I see Susie start walking my way.

She was super nice and let us escape due to it.

I mean, Susie is best girl.

  • I'd like to see anyone who rates them S/A alongside Spirit, because no one has come out and said that. They fixed the abuse but also castrated other things not being abused and still need to look at the add-ons because most are useless.

  • @rch614 said:

People will DC for any reason. This just proves Legion wasn't the real issue in causing people to just DC on a killer they don't like. I feel like the streamers glorifying it did. And now that mentality is cemented along with no punishment.

The punishment only went to Legion and anyone who actually wanted a fun time playing them. But yes, streamers encourage people dcing against Hillbilly or certain add-ons being used (some of them fog-whisperers). Hell, people dc for being outplayed like the killer isn't suppose to ever catch them.

  • I would love this, actually makes sense since she's suppose to be stealthy. She has heavy breathing and you can run detection perks like spine chill if it's bothersome, like it's not really a buff but something that should have always been there. I would also love them to address that roar as well, but I could settle for this.

  • As a DnD enthusiast, I would love something like the demogorgon in the game. There's so many good creature ideas in things like DnD, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, etc... that could be used to make an interesting killer.

  • A lot of people do/did. Pretty sure there was a club for it even.

  • Mostly played survivor because I actually made friends. Tried a few solo beforehand and my god the potatoes are in season. Doesn't help when killers are going sweaty for those bps (I don't blame them, I just hate the randoms I get paired with). At least with a group I know I don't want to pull my hair out.

Agree on survivor wait times being much better since they're actually quick. At least I can get into the next game quickly so the losses even out.

  • Some people run MYC and they say it works well if you figure out the distance and speed.

  • Hard: Micheal I guess. Mostly because some other ######### fed him and I'm unlucky enough to find him right before he has it.

    Easy: Huntress, Nurse, Wraith

Depending on the player, I can have an easy or hard time dodging a Plague.

  • It's one of the key ways to tell if she's phasing near you, especially if it's a prayer beads spirit. She'd be way too broken on something like the Game without crows.

Animals can also sense things we cannot, in this case being a phase-walking being, so it makes sense.

  • No thank you. Guns are a can of worms.

If I wanted to play a shooter, I'd play something else. Just bring a key if endgame is an issue.

  • I would put Freddy higher. I'm not a personal fan of Micheal in terms of finding him attractive. I find him more interesting from a psychological standpoint, so I would have him lower (personally). Clown would be with doc for me. I'm not sure about having the yellow category even be a category. I would shuffle those around.

  • @Kiskashi No problem. I'm just happy someone else has similar taste. I would be happy to talk more about music. Didn't want to overburden you in case any of those were new. ๐Ÿ˜Š
