I would but no one actually wants to argue Just spew insults like babies. I wanna see if even ONE of you can actually argue.

Most of the time people go down due to misjudging loops that happen to be next to walls. They don't always go down wide in the opening and as we were saying before, you can bait it by waiting a few seconds, then looking around. You'll see movement or scratch marks or even spot the survivor who's prepping for the flashlight blind. If you know people are going to be going for saves (saw a bunch of flashlights), always keep that in mind.
That's why I was saying to practice with flashlights. It'll help you understand their downsides and how they work.
I normally always use Infectious fright for this reason lol. What I have noticed with flashlights is Hag and Spirit have TERRIBLE flashlight hitboxes to blind them you need to aim way above and most of the time when I play them I never get blinded for that reason lmao.

No, it works. Most of the time survivors will go down by walls, too. Try holding still for a few seconds and look around. Most of the time they start running out to get into position 'cause the timing has to be just right. If you're unsure on how to combat flashlights, maybe try playing around with flashlights in KYF or a normal match? That way you can get a feel for what you have to do and see what other people do to combat flashlights, too. Realistically, most will have green with batteries. Some will have purple, though most take batteries from my experience. Still have to get into position, regardless.
You can also fake out a pallet pick up. Just wait a few seconds, then step out to look around.
If a survivor gets downed near a wall I always face it but a lot of maps currently aren't very wall heavy and this issue seems like itll persist since an increase in unsafe loops mostly means a decrease in high walls in favor of low walls.

Are you nuts?
I never said remove flashlights I said remove their ability to save

Why do so many people think Flashlights are a problem? You see unlike you we know that there are things like WALLS or hitting the saver and getting two downs it's simple.
You guys act as if walls are literally always right there and there isn't only 2 maps that are indoor only. There are plenty of maps where flash light saves are EZ no matter what and you also act as if im terrible at this game and only play killer instead of debating.

You further prove my point you have nothing to actually disprove and are solely here to provoke.

If they’re chasing you like in your situation then patrol the area and you’d be surprised how well that works.
I normally run infectious or turn around and hit them but then they just flashlight click and pretend like they're running off so I now have to give up the person on the ground and chase the flashlight guy.

Stand there for a second or two, they will run out since you typically have to start running to the downed person before the pickup animation.
I mean thats very rare and survivors have to be real dumb for it to work.

@fluffymareep said:
Flashlight saves are easy to avoid (if in a good position) and easy to bait out, though. If you made pallet saves like that, it would literally by like the old flashlight where you could do it whenever.
Thats why I had the idea of breaking the pallet. BTW Thank you for being respectful on this :^)

Bait them then. I have no problem countering flashlight saves.
How're you supposed to bait them it's not like you can fake a pick-up

Instead of actually debating it you send a meme wow I've been defeated.

Bait the savior or look at a wall. Flashlight saves are easily countered.

I disagree as flashlights have so little use as it is. Pretty much the only use you get out of them is flashlight saving. This would just make people dump flashlights entirely and go to toolboxes.
Well they need to do something cause flashlight saves are very easy and very viable.

As someone who is ACTUALLY in red ranks as Surv, this is blatantly false. You very very very rarely find camping Killers in red or even purple ranks unless your team is being toxic hook circling altruistic jerks.
Yeah im in red ranks too dude. Lucky you you dont get face camped all the time like the rest of us.

For the devs, 'thinking an idea through' means listening to survivors, who were of course all in favour of it. Killers warning that survivors exploit every flawed design that they find was ignored; until the devs did a PTB on it and survivors did exactly what killers said they would.
This remains the case and if the devs won't listen to killers, they need to at least stop listening to survivors also.
When it dawned on the devs that punishing killers for tunnelling and camping was fruitless because of the way survivors would always try to abuse it, they turned to the carrot rather than the stick. Survivors still don't seem to realise how it was their persistent feedback on hook-camping that led to BBQ being introduced as an incentive for killers to leave the hook and to not tunnel until they had hooked everybody at least once.
Survivors screamed the house down about BBQ for well over a year, neglecting to use their own counter-part to it: WGLF, giving them the exact same benefits(save for what they already have in their base kit, aura-reading the hook) and working in conjunction with BBQ. They had asked for this feature unwittingly and then complained about it. Their inability to understand what it is they actually want is a key reason why the devs must stop listening to them. They'd get better informed feedback by shaking a magic 8-ball.
Okay salty killer main who blames survivors for everything
-
also the whole "Rewards not punishments~" Idea is dumb af considering we got rewards and killers still don't care. Im not even a killer main im a flex main I play both ends more killer at this point because killers decide to tunnel, camp, and just be mad when I play stealthy or aggressive.
-
Im sorry but did everyone just forget that the penalties only happen if another survivor ISNT present within the hook area? "ITLL BE ABUSED BY SWF!" No it wont the penalties dont occur if a survivor is present
-
@FredKrueger said:
What is your definition of face camping? Is the killer literally standing in your face the whole time, not allowing un-hook till you die? Or are they hiding behind the hook baiting other survivors in? There's a BIG difference there and I hear a lot of people bitching about face camping when there not being face camped. There being used as bait while the killer hides close by, usually leather face running insidious. That's called strategy and there's no problem with it in my book. Now, actual face camping I do and they SHOULD be punished unless they were playing toxic AF, then they deserved it.
If you stand right in front of the survivor on the hook its bullshit thats what I consider face camping.
-
RIGHT?! I want add-ons for toolboxs that let you repair pallets and sh*t not hit 2 good skill checks lmao.

What if they made totems a more crucial part of the game. Like more killer perks like NOED so it's something you have to do every game. Obviously making gen rushing super risky.
Well that could work but then again it might have an overall more negative impact than positive

That may be true, but they could be salty over how the game is and not at the survivors. If it affected the remaining survivor's actions when you were chasing a new survivor, they may go out and find people. I also saw someone (Scott, I think?) suggest making both hook and gen times longer. I think some killers camp out of frustration towards not being able to catch people in time.
Like I've had a killer tell me I deserved getting face camped cause I pallet stunned him. This was like in march when I just hit rank 1 too.

a killer isn't going to safety pip because they facecamped and killed one person. i don't even know if that safety pips you in brown ranks
It 100% does all you have to do is chase that one survivor for a little bit then down them, after that chase another survivor dont even have to kill them and it safety pips.

I've ran across face campers in the higher ranks. Not sure how they got up there, but they were there. I don't think punishment should be the answer, though. I'm thinking we should reward "good behaviors" with benefits that'll translate to the current match.
Nobody cares about good behavior if they're salty

If the survivors are smart, camping will guarantee a loss for the killer. Just bide your time, wait on the hook, and let your friends do the gens and get out. It's when you get selfish and ######### on the hook or DC that the killer gets rewarded.
The problem isn't whether or not its a bad strat on the killers end. So many killers do it out of pure salt cause they get pallet stunned and can still safety pip with 1 kill. I just think its unfair to the person on the hook who has to just sit their for 2 minutes slowly dying not allowed to play the game.

Sry i was just joking about stealth, mabye i shouldve put in the /s.
Stealth nonexistent comes always from people who explain there is no counterplay to nurse. I just find it funny that there is some killer telling something about a perk and the affects of the trial, while some survivors live in denial that such a thing even exists.
I doubt you can ever explain to some people the diffrence between playing stealthy and being immersed and totally useless.
To be immersed all you need is spine chill and urban lmao. To be stealth is hard as hell depending on what killer you play against like Plague you can probably out stealth but a doctor? Have fun. With Nurse all you gotta do to counter her is break LOS its not that hard as people make it out to be haha.

If you're getting genrushed, here are a few options:
Ruin
Nurse/Hillbilly/Spirit
Learning map pressure
And my personal favorite,
ALL OF THE ABOVE.
Case closed.
My point is you shouldn't have to play those 3 specific killers with a very specific perk just so you can avoid getting genrushed.
-
@miaasma said:
there are emblem penalties for this to prevent killers who do this from ranking up IIRC
this doesn't apply to killers chasing survivors who are looping around hooked survivors
The emblem penalties only go up to like 10% in one emblem so you can still easily rank up by proxy camping/face camping.
-
@Theluckyboi said:
Man, just get to higher ranks, you will find no face campers there

so then those perks aren’t for you. Or you aren’t doing the right thing. And playing as a survivor on rank 2 or 3 I don’t wanna have to run self care, adrenaline, DS, and dead hard. But i have to. I wanna play around and go into games with those perks that give me a considerably high chance of finding something rare in a chest with that other perk for the rare addon. But I can’t because I’ll just die and lose the thing in the chest. I wanna joke around and play with a bunch of different build but for the most part I’ll just die. Killers and survivors are bound to have to use perks to win. That’s just what it is. But basing everything off of the 4/10 games where you didn’t get a 4K isn’t the right thing
I agree killers need nerfs and the game needs a lot of changes. all this one specific thread is is about changing the gen system. But im also a rank 3 survivor and yes its annoying as hell to be forced to run DS, Borrowed, Self Care, and any exhaustion perk besides sprint burst and head on. This game needs to be changed HEAVILY.

Stealth isn't a thing you know?
I just go all in, no ruin, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but I know where I went wrong usually and thus it is okay. Just that playin killer is so stressful compared to playin survivor.
I mean a 120 second timer isn't to threatening. I play both sides and stealth can be a thing if you run a whole build dedicated to it lol. And im not denying the game does favor killers in a lot of ways but gens isn't one and yes I do believe survivors need lots of buffs such as Lithe needing to do more than just a speed boost, hit boxes almost guarantee every hit, Stealth play needs to be viable without running an entire build. But on the other hand killers need some buffs such as maybe a fire up buff, exit gates going back to 20 seconds to open instead of 15, Actual penalties to face camping such as bloodpoint loss, maybe instead of increasing gen time make it so regression actually has a bigger effect than 0.25 charges per second.

just get good you said it im at rank 2 and killers 4k most of the time, more so with ruin at least on ps4
No offense but PS4 players tend to tunnel and camp for all the kills and a lot of people don't know how to play from what I personally have experienced. Even at high ranks killers like Legion dominate.

Exactly I’m rank 2 too and most games they have ruin or PGTW and we don’t even get out. Idk why everybody expects to just be so good at this game. If you’re not getting a 4K change up your style because it’s you.
I get 4k's if I play nurse aka a killer who can actually just teleport wherever the hell she wants. I dont expect this game to be easy but I dont wanna HAVE to run a specific build just to get more than 1 kill. I play all killers and I also play survivor but when it comes to gens this game is heavily survivor sided because there is no mandatory second objective. You can't just run what build you want and expect to get however many kills. For example I played Clown in my last match on crotus penn asylum. It was going good I got everyone hooked once before 2 gens where done and each chase didn't last too long but when I hooked a Claudette on her second hook suddenly 3 gens popped. From there it was fine I got into a chase then hooked Feng on her second hook after once again hooking a Meg, then bam the last 2 popped within 5 seconds of each other. If I had ran PGTW I would've had an easier game but I was constantly having to kick gens. This game doesn't promote making your own perk builds at all when gen rush is so relevant.
-
@ZacKdbd said:
Gens really shouldn’t be longer. There are perks for that. That’s like survivors saying gens should be shorter. There are also perks for that. MAYBE as you complete each gen the time it takes to complete the other ones go down. Because it’s hard enough trying to escape with bad teammates and especially with 1 gen, 2 gens Or even 3 gens left. Raising the time it takes for those would be incredibly hard. Maybe with 5 gens left it takes 100 seconds and then with 1 it takes 80 seconds. 5 seconds less per gen left. Idk something like that maybe
That also seems fine but theres no really good perks to stop and slow gen progression except pop goes the weasel and ruin. I would say corrupt but everyone just hides when corrupt activates.
-
@Clockso said:
While I do agree that gens can go out of control if you chase a survivor for more than a minute, increasing the amount of seconds you need to repair generators is NOT the solution, my god holding M1 for 80 seconds is already painful and skill checks become a joke if you have 20+ hours in this game, what I think needs to happen is to make generators hard to repair, like whenever a killer chases you, you have to be smart and try to outsmart the killer, generators should be hard, this will make it fun for survivors instead of holding m1 for 80 seconds, the only problem is that I don’t know how they can make them hard
I play both sides and yes its annoying but if they buffed the time it took to 100 seconds this would indirectly buff ALL perks that slow down gen progression. What I think they should really do is bring back the thana buff or just revert it to its old state its so useless as is rn. Like Freddy after rework is so beautiful when it comes to delaying the game what they need to do is add more secondary objectives similar to Freddy's style of alarm clocks, having to purposefully fail skill checks etc etc. Or make more perks that effect dull totems literally anything because im at rank 4 rn and I can get 3 early game hooks then before I know it 4 gens are already done.
-
Right because a SWF would make you guys play? You guys DC on the first THOUGHT a survivor team being SWF. Just admit you want GG EZ 4K's.
-
Clown: Can literally end all loops as long as you're somewhat decent of a player
Ghostface: Can walk behind you at full speed and insta down
Plague: Can inflict broken status effect and all survivors whenever she wants
The community: WHAT THE HELL WHY DO DEVS MAKE TRASH KILLERS THAT WE CANT PLAY AS BECAUSE WE DONT HAVE SKILL REEEEEEE!!!!!!!
-
Killer mains: THE DEVS NEVER LISTEN TO US!!
Devs: Literally removes one of the only things you can use to your advantage as survivor
Killer mains: OH MY GOD SEE!!!
-
They listen just not to the killer main community like you who want GG EZ 4K's.
-
Everybody here is so weird like a killer isnt the most broken thing in the game and suddenly hes weak and useless? Honestly whats wrong with you guys you seriously need to play this game more and understand MORE PEOPLE PLAY THEN JUST YOU! "The devs never planned on nerfing him!" Yeah they didnt PLAN on it but then he ended up being too powerful of a killer so they nerfed him like they needed too. Just because a killer isn't top tier EZ 4K doesn't mean they the game is SuRvIvOr SiDeD. New survivor perks are so garbage honestly, poised? Trash. Buckle up? Trash. Mettle of man after nerf and even before nerf wasn't even that good. You guys take things too far instead of just playing the game and getting good sorry this game isn't easy go play little big planet if you want easy.
-
@OMagic_ManO said:
People are saying that others are making a big deal about the Ghostface nerf and saying it's a small deal, but what's the big deal about this is that the Developers are showing that they will go out of their way to make changes to the game without asking it's community that it thrives off of, this could happen to more Killers, the way they create their killers is super Survivor sided, have fun with only being able to have a good game where you can manage kills and map pressure with only 2 killers only.
Playing killer is so incredibly easy the fact you people complain shows youre all rank 20
