  • Was this during the game or the beginning? I've left while I loaded into a game and came back to find myself in a place where I shouldn't have spawned. Just wondering if that could be a spawn issue.

  • Nothing More. I like Go To War and Friendly Fire.

Mindless Self Indulgence. Literally anything by them.

Amaranthe. Drop Dead Cynical, Electroheart, The Nexus.

Endeverafter. Poison, All Night, Road To Destruction.

Set If Off. Killer in the Mirror, Horrible Kids, Kill The Lights.

    Mother Mother. Wisdom, Free, Oleander.

    Pendulum. Watercolor, Witchcraft.

    Nonpoint. Pandora's Box.

I can come up with more, but this is already a lot.

  • Depends on how it plays out on console. Don't really know what kind of bugs could happen since it can't be tested before release.

  • My problem is the definition given to DS. Anti-tunneling. However, it activates without the killer tunneling. Then people use it as an argument and say 'stop tunneling' even though it isn't just an anti-tunneling perk in practice. Either make those changes to make it strictly an anti-tunnel perk or change the definition of it. I'm tired of seeing it used incorrectly in arguments.

I mean we do have steam achievements for rank. You could simply force matchmaking around that. So a Red rank won't ever go against someone lower than blue etc. Being rusty at a game doesn't mean you are incompetent to come back.

There's not even an achievement for ranking on console (PS4). In fact, the trophies persuade you to be around yellow rank if you want an easier time to get them. :/

Myers use to be scare with EW1 Bloodlust Myers now he is a joke. I find Spirit to be the most stressful to deal with. However, the biggest joke is the pig I actively try to get in chases with them because why not.

I agree with you about pig. It hurts, but it's the truth. I like to chase after her, espcially when she's crouching and doesn't notice or care.

What's the point of having a better matchmaking system and having rank be more representative of skill?

And yet matchmaking isn't all too good right now. Without a reward besides long queues, what's to stop me from smurfing or not ranking in the first place? I'm still getting paired with people with different skill levels.

Pig + doctor. You can't remove your trap while you're mad.

    You are an evil genius.

Also love the Huntress Billy one. Imagine throwing revved chainsaws at people. xD

  • Joystick not being accurate even with sensitivity all the way up and the fps drops every time you blink. Even with the forgiving lunge, you can still find yourself missing some questionable hits.

  • Survivor: Kate

    Killer: Huntress and Pig

  • None of them. Scariest thing is not knowing in the beginning of the match who it is.

  • @Shado3 It's more like I watch too much anime, which can be pretty ######### up even when it's trying not to be. I'm actually thinking about how unscary she is as a school girl, nothing sexual about it yet the anime corruption is strong.

  • @Shad03 Thank you. I was actually curious, since I did get that sort of vibe from that skin (not strong enough to say fanservice). Also, thank you a million times for the Waluigi reference. You have done this thread a huge service.

  • My friend does. It's a big part as to why he stopped playing. :/

I liked when it was easier to tell when she was fazing, since a lot of the time I lag against her. Never played her, I find the sounds too annoying. Well, that and I would get a bit of motion sickness just by watching others play her. She doesn't give me the same kind of thrill like being chased by the nurse does, more like a nuisance.

  • Fundamentally, stealth killers just don't fit. The whole point of 'stealth' is to get the first hit. OoO negates this possibility, with spine chill and premonition to a lesser extent. Combined with the downsides built into the stealth killers kits, it's pretty much just making them m1.

Either perks like OoO need to be changed or killers base kit. This is thinking of easier, quicker fixes. For long term, the whole idea of stealth in this looping hell needs to be re-evaluated by the devs. It might be a mechanic that should be nixed, especially since the game has become a version of tag than hide and seek.

  • Billy's chainsaw can be a bit more forgiving than the spirit's lunge in terms of hitboxes. I hate prayer beads spirit more than insta saw Billy, but at base I'd say Billy is better since the latency favors him more. Though I feel like the latency affects the spirits passive phasing and can ######### you over. Console has some wonky latency issues.

Spirit's power has more downsides to it (without taking add-on into account). Things like how sounds can be iffy, which is her main tracking tool. It's also on cool down while Billy only has the rev time (which is very minimal). I've seen more spirits though, so maybe she's just more fun to play?

  • No problem. Mental health is a big deal to me so it's really no trouble.

I'll listen to anyone who wants/needs it. Unless I'm sleeping or working, I'll pretty much drop everything. It can be just me listening (or reading) or a full discussion, whatever works for you.

  • Stats will never not be skewed. Generally, outliers are not included in the final recordings since it unfairly skews the data (especially if it's minimal).

I do agree that more than the chart should be given when stats are being used as part of a discussion like the parameters and any limitations, as someone who has done research. It doesn't have to be an academic article (actually I would be intrigued to see this if the devs do have it), but there needs to be a little bit more information given.

  • Just let it all out. Venting out frustrations is actually a healthy thing to do for yourself. Worst thing you can do is bottle it all up - it'll just eat away at you whether you realize it or not. If you ever need someone to just vent to, I'd be happy to listen. 😁

  • Definitely lose two pips on console.

Quick question: I had a killer dc on me right as I opened hatch with a key and the game gave me the key back. Bug? I don't really care about items, but I know that I used it so I'm just confused.

  • Hey man. I'm a Kate main and I'll righteously die for my team if that's what they need.

I've seen Megs be more aggressive and toxic. The one who thinks they can run a killer around and then ######### and moan when they get caught. Nea's just hide or evade around while sometimes doing gens aside from the few that want to be like No0b3. Fengs are the cuties that do gens and are decent at looping, but more objective focused. Jakes are their own beings. They are seriously enigmas that just do random #########. Jeffs just don't exist.

Hags will camp and tunnel (sorry hag mains). If you touch a totem, they will viciously guard it more than the gens. Bubba camps, especially when you steal his chilli. Docs just love to torture the survivors. They get their enjoyment more from shocking than killing.

  • If anyone on ps4 needs help with survivor team ones, you can send me a message and I'll group up. *Pokes name*

  • Resilience. Object of Obsession. Sole Survivor. Bond. Prove Thyself. Kindred (some people say it's bad. I think it's wonderful as a solo survivor).

Unrelenting (when I just don't care and want to spam). Predator. Shadowborn.

Because i’d rather wait longer and preserve my mental health than work my damn hardest to at the very least not depip, only to be made utterly miserable by cocky, overconfident toolbags.

Kind of why I take breaks from killer and just goof as survivor. I never dodge a lobby. Bring in every toxic thing you want and come as a group, I only play killer when I'm mentally prepared.

This is why I want them to do something about swfs (and other toxic things) though. It just makes my bad days worse and can make a good day turn bad. I have stepped away from the controller during really toxic games and had to dc once because of how much it just affected me. I just want them to be mindful of the player's mental health when they design things. -_-

Thank you for your input, but I do not understand what "kyf" means

(English is my Native Tongue, I just do not know the game Abbrev. yet heh)

KYF = Kill Your Friends. The non-competitive mode.

  • You could find a group of people that will practice with you and do kyf.

    Same. I want a refund.

  • Omg yes. The Crooked Man is great. I would like something more psychological but that would probably be controversial.

A Doppelgänger, but swfs so I'm sad. Maybe something more mythical, because something not actually human would be awesome (but still humanoid).

  • I can say something more controversial. All killers are viable and there's no such thing as tiers.

  • That's one unconfident Billy. God that quality actually hurt my eyes.

Maybe he doesn't have his full build (I use to just put NOED in when I didn't have full) or thinks that he needs the end game pressure because he might not play billy often.

ANYWAYS, ya'll are derailing from the OP. @Gamzello I would recommend checking out what the devs have posted and lurking through the forums. Make your own opinion. It's your own enjoyment on the line.

  • Deranged pursuit works with hitting down someone with borrowed time (since it's also deep wounds).

I have the base game platinumed (ps4), so the dlc ones. There are groups to find people on ps4 if you struggle with the hatch trophy. I've gotten it organically a few times as a solo survivor (maybe I'm just lucky).

I found adept nurse easier than adept Billy.....this is with cheesing as billy (two dcs and farming).

  • Ping doesn't equal lag. There are other factors that aren't counted for that can affect someone's connection. It's just a rough indicator (ping).

As someone with an up-and-down connection, I can tell you that lag is ######### on killer side as well. I've had people tell me I was lagging when they were teleporting across the map for me. Kind of hard to hit someone who has the base kit of a nurse. Internet up-keep is expensive and some people may be renting, so they can't control who their internet provider may be or have much choice because of income/area.

Make it so that a SWF group is matched with the highest rank, not the lowest rank, or the average. SWF team constantly rig the matchmaking, by including a lower ranked person, so they get paired with a lower-skilled killer.

And then I find it funny when I get a group of survivors 8-15 as a red rank killer and they rage at me. Either matchmaking in general is broken because not enough people play so they shovel off people against the wrong rank or swfs skew it. Maybe a mix of both, but I shouldn't be seeing yellows and barely greens in my lobby. Nor as a solo survivor should I paired with killers grossly different from my rank.

  • Maybe if it was a Make A Wish or to honor someone who has died that the team knew or a fan that died. A lot of games do this sort of thing under those types of criteria. Hell, if there was a contest for it then sure.

It's just like what sickoflag mentioned. This would be setting a precedent where anyone would be spamming for their work to be incorporated somehow. Otherwise, cool drawing and nice family values. Hope he gets better soon, breaking bones sucks.

  • I have social anxiety disorder with panic attacks and depression. (Originally my diagnosis was panic disorder but the DSM-5 added in panic attacks with anxiety disorders which fit me better and yes I did see a professional for an actual diagnosis).

I was a psychology and philosophy double major and am currently going for a masters in social work.

I am also a part of the lgbtq+ community.

    1. I am not against having a secondary objective, but I find myself being picky about what it could be. This would mean that there would need to be more mechanics added to the game – this is where my problem lies. I would prefer that they fixed the base game as is before adding something else on top of all the other wonky things. I had mentioned an overhaul and maintenance in another place. I feel like it would be a feasible solution, but that would require them to shut down servers and prioritize this process. The devs seem gung-ho on pushing out all these other things that I doubt they would do this, which is unfortunate. It would help to solve some of those bugs and issues that people have been seeing since release and with every new patch update. 'What about the patch updates?' That's just them slapping a band-aid onto the bullet wounds that their coding is riddled with. Everything has been just trying to fix the symptoms of the problem and not the actual problem itself.
    2. Depending on what secondary objective gets used, I may stop playing. Certain popular ideas already being proposed on other threads just don't settle well with me. I could go more in-depth, but I'm not going to single them out and have their supporters jump down my throat for it. I can already hear people saying I should just leave and that I wouldn't be missed. Some of you may complain about how lobbies are taking forever and how you see the same people. Part of that is how we've been treating others within this community. Other people have said good-byes and ya'll are okay with it even though it means that the player-base is shrinking. I thought you wanted it to grow?
    3. A secondary objective might not be necessary if certain other problems get fixed. Killer, map, and survivor tweaks could tip the balance of the game into a good place. You know, because all of the problems boil down to the same factors so people are jumping on the idea of extending time through other means than focusing on the fact that the game holds itself back. It limits itself, but this can be fixed. Buffing and tweaking certain mechanics could potentially extend the time of matches (especially if maps are reworked for stealth plays). The emblem system is a way of trying to prolong the game. You want to rank up, you have to play a full game and not just rush your objective. Good in theory, but the practice is bad due to the fact that ranks doesn't mean #########. People complain about the emblem system, but it's literally just taking the place of a secondary objective for now. Another band-aid if you would.
    4. This could buff 'top-tier' killers and have survivors crying, or the reverse could happen. At that point, just tweak the killers so more of them are viable (even though any of them could be viable based on learning them inside and out but that's a different topic). It would take less work to make a killer viable than to add a whole other level to the game. Bottom line, I think you should just fix what you already got.

Legion was never fun to play against. Ever. He was fundamentally broken, he had ZERO counterplay. I don’t agree with some of the changes made but it’s better than getting tunneled and stabbed 28 times in a row.

I still see PLENTY of Legion players on PS4. The rework hasn’t stopped me from seeing my fair share of Legion players.

Can confirm as one of those people who play them on ps4, except I made it into red ranks (only playing as legion) so I haven't been playing killer as often. I want to be reset so I don't have to play hard as much.

  • I'd get around to finally finishing Persona 5 (first play through) and work through plating it. The space palace really hit me with intense boredom.

Path of Exile. Smite. Playing whatever my buds are currently playing (none of them play DbD anymore). Borderlands - my friends want me to go to OP levels but I just want to plat it and move on.

  • @Traslogan said:

You can't, they tell their SWF team to come get them, the two of them spread out until it's clear you can't get both. Just another way that DBD is just so awkwardly made that it creates imbalance by default.

Better yet, the exit gate is close enough for them to crawl towards within an entire minute and you literally can't do anything. Again, broken by default.

Or a smart solo player can pick them back up or delay the killer for them to escape by crawling. I wouldn't discount solo players.

  • @DudeDelicious I actually agree with you. Killer can slow down the game if you know how. That's actually my play style. They aren't completely powerless as some seem to think. I play exclusively m1 and go so far as to not use add-ons.

Does a good group 'counter' it? It adds a challenge, but you can actually challenge good groups with this method.

  • @AsheruSwiftwind said:

As a killer main you got two options:

    1. Go after the guy who just unhooked the player on the hook 99% of the time by the time you catch them hook them up and go find the other guy the 60 second timer will be long gone.

    2. (I don't suggest this one) If your bound and determined to go for the player off the hook just be ready to be hit with DS and start the chase anew. Tunneling like this will get you hated on end game but they only get 1 DS per match per player.

Its up to you how you want to play at the end of the day. Personaly I find more fun in going after the one who saved the other player and for that I rarely if ever get hit by DS.

Unfortunately, option 1 can be circumvented.

The unhooker made a mistake and took a hit before unhooking (or is bad at looping in general). You chase them down instead of the unhooked and manage to hook them before the timer is up. The other person comes back and makes an unsafe hook. You down them and get to eat a nice DS even though you didn't tunnel. As someone who plays for trades, this actually happens quite a bit.

  • Which is why I'm suggesting you change the baseline mechanic of obsession into actually making it something beyond perks.

  • @ReikoMori said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/516115#Comment_516115

NOED is the backup plan. If you're main plans work out then you'll never really need it. Yet, if they fall through then NOED is the back up. What's the back up for losing Devour Hope though? Nothing. Hexes are supposed to be high risk, but often the reward for using them isn't worth trouble. Ruin is great if it lasts long enough, but you're more likely to start a game and it get destroyed before the 2mins. Usually due to piss poor spawning rules for totems. They said they are trying to put them in better places, but you could easily so alot of problems by not putting next to gens and not putting them in open fields.

Or spawning the killer right next to it. Smart survivors check where the killer came from and so a killer can be punished by poor spawning even though they didn't go to check.

  • Because the killer is too scared to go for me because of obsession perks? It's more like they're aware that the obsession thing just now means that someone has a perk, not necessarily the person that was picked. It should benefit the killer, not me as the survivor. At least that's how it should be. I should be scared to be the obsession.

  • They found a way to 'cheat the system' or were carried by someone else. If you figure out the whole pipping thing, you don't really need to be skilled to rank up. It also doesn't help that the whole object of being a survivor (i.e surviving) has been downplayed by the system so stupid mistakes can be made and you still pip.

  • Obsession itself is a mechanic that needs to be looked at again. I find myself being the obsession because someone else runs the perk and I'm not really affected by it, so I'm not even aware of it nor do I care. It should offer something to the killer beyond a couple perks you have to waste a slot for.

  • I've had the same thing happen to me in all these scenarios, so it's not just you.

  • I gave an alternative, because by your logic I would arm myself, which I wouldn't do. Just because a majority may be doing something doesn't mean everyone is also doing the same thing. There's always other options.

  • Only if we get a killer that throws a doll or something at the survivors
